Pb with msi Geforce fx 5200 128 DDR

Hello,
I'am writting to ask if there is a solution to my pb of compatibilty with this
card, I have burned 3 motherboard with it :
- 2 Elite K6s5A
- 1 Asusrock
Since I pur the card to the AGP Slot it burn it, so that when i test with other card
it doesn't work anymore.
Strange when I see it working with an old motherboard for celeron.
I have a guarantie for those but i would like to know where is the pb
Thanck u
Sam

Your mobo should at least have an AGP port that is capable of handling at least 4x AGP slot.

  • Problem with MSI Geforce FX 5200 & Westinghouse LCM-22W2

I've tried a bunch of different drivers and the highest resolution I can get displayed on this monitor is 1440x900. it's native resolution is one step higher, 1680x1050. Anyone have any ideas as to why my card refuses to display anything higher than this, even tho the latest drivers i have and all MSI's information specifically states that it should be capable of doing so?
    Thanks,
    -John

here's my specs - if i'm missing anything important let me know.
    MSI KT3 Ultra ARU
Athlon XP 2100+ (overclocked, recognized as 2700+)
    MSI Geforce FX 5200 VTD128
    1 GB RAM
Win XP Home, SP2 completely up to date
The Nvidia drivers are version 6.14.10.9371 released on 10/22/06 - I had a newer version but they didn't fix any problems, at this point i'm honestly not sure why I went back to this version :P - I had the absolute latest version from Nvidia's site, which the release notes specifically stated supported the Non-traditional 1680x1050 resolution, and that the FX5200 was supported by these drivers. Still didn't work.
    The GPU Bios is 4.34.20.23.08
Also, upon startup my system was kinda hanging and I would get a notice that SW20.exe had crashed. I disabled sw20.exe and sw24.exe from starting up when the PC did and have no problems. It's not liek I miss them, cus I never used the overclocking functions of the graphics card anyway.
Originally XP was recognizing my monitor as a "Plug and play" monitor. The manual says this:
"VESA Plug and Play eliminates the complicated and time-consuming installation process. Your computer system will identify and automatically adjust the LCD monitor. The LCD monitor uses Display Data Channel (DDC) to send Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) to the computer system, so the computer system can automatically adjust the LCD monitor."
Right now the monitor is running with a custom inf file that PowerStrip (Which I downloaded from a link I found here) created for it. Westinghouse has no drivers or anything remotely helpful on their website.
Also, I'm using a Dual-link DVI cable, the monitor also has a VGA input.

    Try disabling AGP fast writes.
If you have a passively coold FX it's possible it's heating up, you should try it with the case open or with a fan over the heatsink.

  • MSI GeForce FX 5600 256MB DDR with BIG FAN!

    Hi,
I was thinking in buying a new video card and a MSI Geforce FX 5600 256MB DDR is a very good choice for me, but i realised that despite the fact, that its a 256MB DDR running at 400Mhz, compared with the 550Mhz of the GFFX 5600 of 128MB DDR and i was thinking in buying a bigger cooling solution to replace the bundled one with the card. So i could overclock the mem frecuency at 550Mhz. So my question is, do you know of a good and not so expensive cooling solution for the card??.

Companies like Zalman and Vantec has to offer some nice and quiet cooling solutions.See video card's RAM specs for that kind of o/c.

  • MSI GeForce FX 5200 bios config???

I just bought a msi geforcefx 5200 (TDR-128), and I'd like to know what is the best configuration I can put on my bios (MSI K7N2 DL)?
    AGP clock? 66-120
    AGP Voltage? 1.5-1.7
    AGP fastwrite? Enable/disable
    Video cache? Enable/disable
    Graphic Aperture Size? 64-512
    PCI...? 32-128 and so on...
I was runing on default (agp clock 66 volt 1.5 fastwrite enable video cache disable and grap apert 64 pci 32) and the games has some kind of lockups of miliseconds :(
I tryed to rase the graphic aperture size to 128, the pci to 128 and video cachable to enable but no fix, please should i change the agp clock and voltage.
Ps.: i also tryed to disable the fastwrite but no fix :P

The AGP clock should be left to its default setting, as well as the AGP voltage, except if you want to overclock your card´s memory, it could give you some help
AGP FastWrite should be enabled, it could deliver in a performance gain
SideBand Adressing will not be available if the card runs at AGP 8X (AGP 3.00 disables it) and as your mobo supports AGP 8X (nFORCE2) don´t enable it.
Video Cache gives no performace gain, except on DOS, it´s useless as well as System BIOS Cache.
AGP Aperture Size should be set at 128 MB, anything bigger is completely useless
And the PCI Latency Timer leave it in its default setting or in 64 clocks
Don´t touch the AGP speed or voltage because it will give you more problems than solutions. Try latest nVIDIA ForceWare drivers, latest nFORCE drivers and see if the problem remains.

  • Problems with MSI GeForce 7900 GT/GTO. Please Help!!!

I purchased an MSI GeForce 7900 GT/GTO last summer. At first it was working fine. I would get the occasional automaic restart in the middle of a game, but other than that it was fine. Now, almost a year has past and the product I payed good money for isn't working as it should, to say the least. I get many artifacts in all the games I play. The artifacts are the same in each game, although they more numerous in some then others. The objects in-game are connected by "ropes". There are strange colors on the walls. Sometimes the screen starts flashing different colors and the artifacts become impossible to ignore. I've had to Ctrl-Alt-Delete out of a game numerous times only to be greeted with a flashing desktop. Then I have to do a hard restart. It seems that the problems are getting worse as time goes on. The artifacts were not this bad before, but now I can't play 30 min. of any game without having these graphical artifacts. The glitches are worst in the Tomb Raider: Aniversarry demo and Test Drive Unlimited. I also see the artifacts in Half Life 2 and Rainbow Six Vegas. I haven't overclocked my card at all and my fans are working as they should. The temperature of the card is running at 55 degrees at the moment. I believe during games it goes up to around 65 which I don't think is bad. I have installed the latest Nvidia drivers. I sent an email to customer service explaining to them what the problem was. In the email I asked them to email me back as soon as possible to let me know what information to send. I have yet to recieve a reply and its been almost a week. When I payed for the card I didn't expect that it would fall apart in less than a year. This is just outrageous and I am disgusted with the "customer service" that MSI has to offer.
(Some of the artifacts, such as the flashing colors, couldn't be captured in a screenshot)

have a try with better one, your VGA required at lease +26A on +12V.
get a decent PSU, single rail with high amperes on +12V (30A or more are recommended)

  • Fast boot with MSI Geforce GTX970

    Hi!
I just tried to enable Ultra fast boot in my ASRock UEFI,.. didn't work. I learned that I need a GPU which supports GOP. Does my GTX970 support this protocol by default? Do I need to flash a VBios?
    S/N:602-V316-03SB1409025050
I have difficulties saving my bios with GPU-Z (version 0.8.0 and 0.7.9). It says: 'BIOS reading not supported on this device.'
But msi LiveUpdate says I'm using NV316MH.125.....I don't know if this is helpful.
    Windows 8.1 64-bit
    ASRock Z97 Extreme4
    msi Geforce GTX970 Gaming 4G
    Xenon E3-1231 v3
    Thanks in advance.

GTX970 should supports GOP originally, so you don't have to flash VBIOS.
NV316MH.125 means it's a GOP VBIOS,  if it is NV3XXMS.XXX means non GOP.

  • Need help with MSI GeForce 6800. Pc says its an LE...

Hi all I did a search but couldnt find anything relating to my problem. If I missed it then I apologise in advance.
I bought an MSI 6800 and installed it but it says that the card installed is a 6800 LE.
All the packaging and the stickers on the card itself say its a 6800 but the pc says otherwise.
I installed all the software and searched for updates. I installed new drivers but still it says its an LE.
How can I find out if I got a duff card or a problem with windows and drivers ??
Is there a major difference physically on the pcb that I could check out ?
    cheers.
    JunkDuster

Thank you very much for the pictures.
I did what you said and guess what, yep, it said 6800 LE.
I now have the great displeasure of having to pay for postage to return this item and hope that I can get a full refund and go elsewhere.
That was the first and last time I will use that company again.
Cheers for your help in stopping me from getting ripped off.

  • Will these three other pieces work well together with MSI GeForce 6800 GT 256 ?

    Hello  :hypecrite:
I have ordered myself some new stuff ,and maybe a little late to ask for answers ,but ...
Wondering if my VGA : MSI Ge Force 6800 GT 256 which I will recieve tomorrow will work well with the following which are soon coming:
    *Corsair Value Select VS1GBKIT400 ; PC3200 1024

    If PSU is needed : Thermaltake Silent Purepower Polo12 W0032R - 410 W ;+ 3,3 , -/+ 5 V , -/+ 12 V.

I've got same Mobo and VGA. At the moment it seems to be not possible to oc the VGA stable higher than 400/1100 with fastwrites enabled (i've allready done vmod to 1.4V, without it freezed even at 360/1020). First i thought it was a VGA bios issue, but after some tests with different bios versions i think it's a driver problem (forceware or maybe nforce or both). Hope nvidia will fix this soon.

  • K7T266 Pro2 boot hangs with MSI GeForce 4 MX 440

Just installed the mobo and VGA combo mentioned in the Title and I get very regular boot freeze - mobo beeps and hangs with 2 possible results - 1/ no video signal 2/ garbage on screen
After many many restarts the system boots OK. On next power-up the same story.
The BIOS is dated November 2002 (sorry, cannot find the version string now) , the GF4 card was tested with 2 versions of its BIOS: 4.17.00.24.36 and 4.17.00.30.00 and the result is the same.
CPU is Athlon 1200, 512 MB DDR RAM.
Any help appreciated. If it is necessary for me to provide more information, I will be happy to do so.

    What OS are you using?
Did you do a clean install after installing the MB and Video Card?
Did you update your Video Drivers to the latest and greatest?
What version of Directx are you using?
Did you set your BIOS settings back to default?
What other hardware are you using that may be incompatible with the MB and/or Video card you're using?
Check to see that you didn't accidently knock one of the memory modules loose when you were installing the MB.
Also check to see if your processor fan has enuff thermal grease and is seated on your processor properly.
Hope the checklist helps...I had the same problem with mine when I got it and I flashed the BIOS then reloaded my OS when that failed to fix it. It's been great since then. Remember to backup any data that you might want to keep before you reload though...GL! 8)
