PB2 issue Latitude says 'your current location is temporarily unavailable'.
please help

You are probably in an area where the PlayBook cannot determine your location or it may be timing out before the device can provide this information. It doesn't seem to work too well indoors IMO.

PB2 issue Bing Maps says 'Unable to determine your current location'.
    please help..

That happens if you are indoors and the App canot locate your GPS location.
You may have to take your PB outside for a minute or so so it can get a fix on your location.
Have you tried Google Maps or the MapApp from App World that also uses Google Maps?
They are much better than Bing Map.

My ipod 5th gen says it is connected to the internet and i can go on apps that require an internet connection but whe i try to use the weather or another app that uses your current location it cant find me???

If you open the Maps app where does that say you are located?
For location the iPod uses the location of nearby routers that are in Apple's database of routers and their location. Thus it appears that Apple's database is incorrect. You do not have to be connected to the router, just within range.
Apple periodically updates their database based on information they obtain from iPhones, The iPhone has to have turned on the option to send info to Apple. no one has found another way to get the location of a router added/corrected.
You can confirm that by going to well-know place with wifi like Starbucks or McDonalds

  • Reminders.app would like to use your current location.

When I set a location-based Reminder on my iPhone 5S, a window pops up on my Mavericks-iMac asking permission, "'Reminders.app' would like to use your current location," along with radio buttons offering OK or Don't Allow.  I have scoured settings on my phone and on my Mavericks iMac--I should not be getting this message.
    Your thoughts appreciated.

I'd suggest everyone else uses that page too. Apple probably don't read these posts so if you have something to say direct it at the iOS or OS X feedback forms.

I have the ios 7 I got it from a friend that has a developers account . Even I plug my phone to iTunes it won't still activate I don't know what else to do I'm so frustrated about this cuz I'm waiting for an important call its for ,my job interview please help

If you have iOS 7 your're either a developer or a thief.  If you're a developer, post in the developer forum.  If you're a thief, hopefully you will be prosecuted.  In any case, you cannot receive support here.

Generally this is a sign that the iPhone had previously been
hacked/modified/jailbroken and the update relocked it to the
original wireless carrier. If this is the case, only that wireless
carrier can unlock your iPhone. You must contact them to see
if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
Where did you acquire this iPhone?
What wireless carrier did you use before this problem?
Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier?

  • TS3297 Your credit balance is temporarily unavailable.

This is the 3rd problem in as many weeks-
I've had "complete my album" purchases reset randomly (no one at Apple could help me with that problem, except for canned messages that have nothing to do with the problem)
Then I have a re-enter my password for each purchase (Apple actually says: "You can resolve this only by completely signing out of your account and then back in." Apparently, for every purchase I need to sign out and sign in)
Now I get the message "your credit balance is temporarily unavailable" - which it may be temporary indeed, but all of these problems occurring in less than 30 days may have some connection.

  • Re: Impossible to activate your iPhone, activation server temporarily unavailable.. how long it will take?

    hi there
just update ios to try beta 6  to our test iphone 3gs  but we got the message
Impossible to activate your iPhone, activation server temporarily unavailable..
we try several times to activate it but nothing. we have the dev account and also the provis auth. any idea why this could happen ?
    thanks

As you are running a beta you must be a developer. You will have to go to the Developer forums for help.
I suspect there is nothing wrong with the activation server; more likely you hacked the phone to get the beta. Now you are stuck.

  • How to reset "Use your current location" setting?

Today, I downloaded an app that when I first ran it it asked me if it "could use my current location". I mistakenly touched the "Don't Allow" selection. I really wanted the app to use my current location.
Now it is not asking me to use my current location, instead it simply states "Your location could not be determined".
I went into settings hoping that I would find the app listed there and that I could change a setting to force it to use my current location, but discovered that the app is not listed in the settings apps grouping.
I deleted the app and then went to the app store and reinstalled it, all to no avail.
Anyone got an idea about how this "use my current location" can be restored?

An easier route is to go to Settings -> General -> Location Services
It will list all the apps that can use location services and you can turn them on or off.

  • Disturbing Results from "Determine Your Current Location"

Disturbing results when I used the "determine you current location" on the Maps app. The map brought up my home address from more than two years ago, when I lived over 600 miles from my current and actual location. *I did not give Apple this info.* Not only an error but too much "Big Brother" invasion of privacy for me.
Any one else experience similar results?

I did not give Apple this info.
    So?
The information didn't come from Apple; it came from Skyhook. See http://www.skyhookwireless.com/
At some point, someone - perhaps your old ISP - associated the router you are using with an address. If you are worried about privacy, a location 600 miles from where you actually live should be good news.
Stick with wired Internet and there will be no router transmitted signal to give you away.

  • ...would like to use your current location

Every application I've installed that features location services prompts me to use my current location. Despite the claims that these messages are supposed to disappear after pressing "Okay" twice, each program continues to ask.
It seems like an unnecessary and excessive precaution. Why isn't the message going away?

I heard, but haven't tested for sure, that after you click "OK" for a particular application TWICE, then it assumes you don't want to be asked again, and always allows. Seemed to work with Maps, but haven't verified for other apps yet.
    Give it a try...

  • When i try and authorize my computer with itunes it says the itunes store is temporarily unavailable

when i try and authorize my computer with itunes it says the itunes store is temporarily unavailable

    Hello Alark26,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you're continuing to receive the error where you cannot connect to the iTunes Store, I'd like you to please follow the directions outlined below.
    Troubleshoot issues in Windows
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store for more than a day (and other customers on our discussion boards aren't experiencing similar issues) a software or Internet service provider (ISP) configuration issue may be blocking your access to the iTunes Store. Find out which ports and servers need to be allowed for iTunes Store access.
Update iTunes to the latest version.
If iTunes Store appears empty and only displays the message iTunes Store, follow these steps.
Try the steps to troubleshoot iTunes Store connectivity in Windows.
As with all firewalls not manufactured by Apple, you may need to configure Windows Firewall to allow iTunes to access the iTunes Store. Follow these steps for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.
Try disabling any proxies built-in to Windows. You should avoid proxies because they can cause issues.
If you're receiving a specific error message, follow these steps.
If the issue still persists, contact your Internet service provider and confirm that these ports and serversare enabled over your network.
Note: The hosts file may be blocking the iTunes Store.
Microsoft's article How do I reset the hosts file back to the default? has instructions and a FixIt to have Windows try to reset the hosts defaults for you.
Note: Some workplaces may put internal resources in the hosts file and may block iTunes Store. The FixIt doesn't work for Windows 8.
To create a copy of your hosts file and replace it with an empty hosts file, follow the instructions below:
You can find the hosts file at: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC.
Select the hosts file. There should now be a duplicate of the hosts file named "Copy of hosts" (Windows XP) or "hosts-copy" (Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8).
Drag the original hosts file to your desktop.
Right-click the duplicate file and choose Open. You may be prompted to choose the program you want to use to open this file. Double-click Notepad.
When Notepad opens, choose Edit > Select All.
    Choose Edit > Delete.
    Choose File > Save.
    Close Notepad.
Right-click the duplicate file, and choose Rename.
Type "hosts" (without quotation marks) and press Enter.
Restart your computer and try connecting to the iTunes Store.
If you still can't connect to the iTunes Store, your security software or firewall may be blocking the ability of iTunes to communicate with the Internet. Learn how to resolve security software issues.
     Learn more
If the steps above didn't resolve your issue, be sure that your specific alert isn't listed as a possible iTunes Store error. Then, if your issue is still unresolved, follow these steps.

    Take care,

  • HT4623 Hi, I have taken over my daughters iphone 3gs and updated it and restored iphone but now it will not configure with my itunes or the original sim that was in it, saying "the activation server is temporarily unavailable. And will not connect to itun

Hi I have taken my daughters iphone and wiped it and resetted it but it will now not let me activate it via itunes and will not even go onto the home screen of the phone so i can go to settings etc and i do not know what to do to enable the phone to be activated

"We're Sorry, Activation Server Temporarily Unavailable, contact Customer Care?"
99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, you need to get a sim card from the carrier the phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, if you want to activate it. Because it appears that it was not officially unlocked.
