PC 2.5  - Test of Effectiveness Vs. Control Monitoring

Hi All,
can you elaborate on the deference between the tow - from a business view and a technical view.
Thanks

Test of Effectiveness: This is to test the manual controls. We will be able to perform this for a manual control only if a test plan is assigned to it. We will have test steps under a test plan and when u perform test of effectiveness, the control owner gets this assessment and he needs to mention whether the test steps are done or not and he can give an overall rating for the test. If he gives the rating as Deficient or Significnatly Deficient, an issue is generated and sent for a review.
Control Monitoring: Control monitoring can be done only if a rule is assigned to an automated control. In the rule we mention, what exactly should be done in the monitoring process. For example: In rule we can mention that the data related to Company code XYZ should be filtered and displayed. It displays the data corresponding to that company and we can monitor the data. Another example is if you want to capture if there is any change to a particular data attribute, you can also do that.

  • Effective Change control for BW

    Hi All,
We have a requirement for developments in two different development environments, to merge together in one production BW System. This will require very effective change control process, of managing changes to common BW objects. I have a couple of questions for the BW Gurus.
    1) What is the Best way to manage this?
    2) Is there a recommended third party tool to manage this change?
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Chandan.

If the resources are available I'd set up another development system that only contains common BW objects and is delivered to both development systems. Or you set up one BW system as master development system and create two different transport layers, one directly to test and prod and one 'Master' layer that only contains the common objects and is delivered to your second development and test and prod.
I'd definitely set up a common test system so that problems in development are found out early.
    Other ideas:
Create strict naming guides and implement authorizations in your development systems so that it isn't possible to create the same InfoObject in both systems.
Have regular meetings between the two teams to identify common InfoObjects and DataSources early on.
Depending on the size of your SAP environment you might think about registering a namespace at SAP. This gives you a /MYNAME/-prefix on your BW-objects to differentiate the objects. But I'd only recommend it for big installations.
    Best regards
       Dirk

  • Test call of transport control program (tp) ended with return code 0200 Message no. TK094

    Hello Expert,
My SAP System environment as follow
SAP Product : SAP NetWeaver 04
    Operating System : Windows 2003 32 bit
SAP Database : MS SQL 2005 32 bit
I have installed SAP NetWeaver 04 system with system copy option. I have installed Application server & Database server on different physical server. App server : SSC2PAS3SFWBW and Database Server : SSC2PAS3SFSQW1.
After SAP NetWeaver 04 installation with system copy I have done TMS configuration with virtual system for a test, It is working fine but while releasing request form SFD system (Development system) it get error  “Test call of transport control program (tp) ended with return code 0200. Message no. TK094”
I have reconfigured the TMS and check but it can’t help. TR gets release and import with OS level but at SAP level it gets error.

    Hi,
a)If your system is UNIX check /usr/sap/trans is mounted or not?
b)After configuring TMS did you save and activate?that can be one reason.
c)tp might be corrupted.u need to upgrade your tp. (or you can upgrade to the latest kernel)
    Please check the below link
could not start transport control program tp
However as suggested by NIbu, you should restart the server once before doing any other checks
    Thanks

Your transport request could not be exported, since all requirements were not fulfilled.
Calling the transport control program tp
       "tp EXPCHK BWDK900308 pf=
    WDBSSAPBWD01\sapmnt\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_BWD.PFL -Dtransdi"
which checks the export requirements, returned the following information:
    Return code from tp: 0249
Error text from tp: ERROR: No connect due to DbSl Load Lib Failure
    System Response
    Further processing is terminated.
    Procedure
    Check the following points:
u2022     Feasibility of the transport control program tp

  • FI documents effect when controlling was not activated

    Hi Experts,
I have one issue regarding when the controlling was not activated.
I posted some FI documents relating expenses etc. that time contrllong module was not configured. Now controlling was configured. Can i show that expense documents effect in controlling which are posted in FI previously.
    Thanks and Regards
    Balu

    Hi,
If the controlling Module is activated subsequently, the earlier will not get updated automatically. System will not be able to identify to which cost center the document should get updated.
Probably, some custom program needs to be used to update the Cost Centers for the earlier documents.
    Thanks
    Murali.

How can i solve this problem?

It could be related to your code issue. When you switch tab the valueChangeListener might be triggering automatically and causes this issue. Use tab DisclosureEvent to have each tab logic.

That won't work with the iPad, unless maybe there's a "control monitor" app somewhere.

  • MythTV Program Guide Slow/No Composite Effects On Dual Monitor

    Hello all,
I am not entirely sure where this would belong, so I put it here.
I am running Arch64 with an NVidia 8600GTS and dual monitors as seperate X screens. The second monitor is actually a TV not a monitor, and is using the S-Video output on the video card, but I'm not sure that that's relevant at all.
On my primary monitor the program guide in MythTV runs fairly decent, however on the TV it runs unbearably slow. Pushing up on the remote a time or two will take a minute or so to happen. I have it set to the least demanding level possible.
I originally thought that this was just a MythTV issue but I noticed that XCompmgr and Compiz-Fusion effects do not work at all on the TV either, so I think these issues are related.
Also, I do not currently have a composite window manager installed, I am using Gnome with Metacity.

It's a bit of a mess at the moment. Last time I reinstalled I was having trouble with the keyboard and mouse not working in Gnome, so I've been hesitant to mess with it too much.
On my previous install my xorg.conf looked like this:

I had the same issues with composite managers and that MythTV guide using this xorg.conf too.
Has anyone had any similar issues? I am at a total loss here, so any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

No one else has had troubles with the program guide or composite effects on dual monitors?

    Hi,
I have configured and executed alert generation job but we are not able to obtain the alerts for mitigation control monitoring.
    What we have done:

    2) Monitor has executed thansaction XXXX on day 1
    3) Alert generation job has been executed on day 1 (after step 2)
    3) Monitor has not executed transaction XXXX on day 2
    4) Alert generation job has been executed on day 2 BUT alert for control monitoring are not obtained.
Does anyone know why we are not getting the alerts for control monitoring?
    Thanks in advance. Kind regards,
      Imanol

  • Grid Control monitoring a particular logfile

    Hi all,
I have a doubt, is it possible to Grid Control monitor a specific log file?
I have a log file where a register a script execution status, is it possible to raise an alert on Grid control just keeping the eyes on this file ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Emerson

    Yes.
Create an external table for that logfile, then create a user defined metric that queries the table to retrieve the execution status results, and define key values in that metric to raise warning or critical alerts based on the execution status.
For example, checking for success on a data pump job (admittedly contrived and inefficient) with a logfile called 'impdp.log' sitting in /tmp:
    sqlplus / as sysdba
    create or replace directory TEST_EXTERN_DIR as '/tmp';
    grant read on directory TEST_EXTERN_DIR to someuser;
    exit;
    sqlplus someuser/somepassword
    create table myextern ( string varchar(255) )
organization external ( default directory TEST_EXTERN_DIR
    access parameters ( records delimited by newline ) location ( 'impdp.log' ) );
select * from myextern where string like 'Job%completed%';Then create the user-defined metric, in this case as a string metric run by someuser with a comparison operator of CONTAINS with a warning value of 'error' and a critical value of 'fail', set the metric to run as frequently as necessary along with any response actions necessary if desired.

  • Alert Generation, Control Monitoring

    Hi,
I am trying to understand how the Alert Monitoring background jobs work. I understand that Alert monitoring for Confliction Actions and Critical Actions will generate allerts when conflicting actions or critical actions actually are performed, but how is this for the Control Monitoring? Will it create allerts when users/roles with conflicts are actually assigned a mitigating control, or will alerts also be created when mitigating controls are created but not assigned to a specific users/roles risk violation?
    Thank you!

Did you check the documenation on this ("Scheduling Alert Generation" section in GRC 5.3 config guide):
    Control Monitoring:
This alert type is a mitigation level analysis, which generates mitigation alerts.
During the generation of alerts, the user and transaction information is passed to the risk
analysis. If you select the Consider Mitigated Users option, alerts are generated on user who
are associated with a mitigated risk. The generation of these alert types are useful for
transaction usage in Segregation of Duties (SoD) Review and User Access Review (UAR).
You can also set up a background job for sending alert notification via email based on the
alert type. By selecting Conflicting Actions and/or Critical Actions alert types, notifications are
sent to Risk Owners. Selecting Control Monitoring alert type sends notification to the
Management Approver of the Mitigating Control.
    Thanks
