Pc connected behind 7942g network issues

All
I have a situation where computers connected directly to a 7942 ip phone see a large reduction in network speed. If I remove the phone out of the equation and have the computer connected directly to the Ethernet network downloads become 20 times faster. The difference is 10 Kbps with the phone compared to 200 Kbps when not connected to the phone.
I have qos on the network switch, and that is a 3750. There are 2 Vlans . One for VoIP and data.
This site is a branch office with an average latency of 6ms to the main office. There is no firewall between the sites as it is mpls.
The phone system is call manger running version 8 code.
What could be causing such a vast difference in network speeds?
Your suggestions would be extremely helpful as this has become a heated issue. Please help.

Keith,
Did you ever get this resolved? I have a client that is experiencing this same issue.
Thanks

  • Issue with LDAP Connection becuase of Network issue

    Hello All,
We have some network issues going on which is causing the NIC (Network interface card) to failover to another NIC. Due to this failover SUN access manager's LDAP connection pool fills up and we see errors in logs "Directory is down". We have to restart the Access manager to resolve this issue which refresh the connection pool of LDAP.
Now we have set the setting as recommended in admin guide/tuning guide. Like
    1. Set event connection idle timeout to less that firewall or loadbalancer idle timeout value.
    2. event connection retry count and interval on perticular error code.
Despite of above settings its not working out. Is there other way to get all the stale connections back to the LDAP pool without restarting the server?
Or something which handles the network failover or failback?
    Regards
    Chetan Kulshrestha

The user search name is the value you should be looking at in the LDAP attributes, that's the one that it will send to LDAP on a logon attempt. If you changed this value after mapping a group, I'm not sure but you may have to remap the group to get the change.
So on the LDAP side verify the user search attribute = the username you expect to login with (i.e. cn, samaccountname, uid, etc)
    Regards,
    Tim

  • IMac running 10.9 not rebooting after network issues

This is weird, and while I am going through Apple's Knowledgebase steps - so far without success - I thought I'd post here to see if anyone else experienced a similar issue.
I was having network issues (or what I think/thought were network issues) for about a week. The symptoms looked like high packet loss, i.e. websites would simply not load reliably: sometimes not load at all, sometimes load partially. This started with some smaller websites and eventually it failed to load google and facebook. It took me some time to notice that  other devices on the same WiFi did not have this issue, so yesterday I decided to reboot my iMac. Network diagnostics didn't show any issue and I was able to connect to the WiFi router just fine, just not find any websites, so I thought a reboot may fix it.
I have not been able to boot it back up since. It stalls at the grey loading screen with Apple logo and a spinning wheel for ever (I've let it sit for hours). Safe boot does not work, and starting in Verbose mode hangs at "executing fsck_hfs" and it doesn't seem to do anything else. I've booted from the install disc (actually a USB drive) and ran Disk Utility from there, but it showed not disk errors at all. It did repair a handful of permissions (I only saw iBooks related stuff and something about etc/apache2/users), apparently successfully, but it's still not booting.
Disconnecting my external Time Machine drive and unplugging the iMac from my surge protector didn't help, either. I am now creating a new image from the partition just to have an additional backup on top of my Time Machine, and I'm going to try Archive and Install next, which is the next to last step in the Knowledgebase.
I do have two partitions on the Mac (one 10.9 and the other 10.7), by the way, and booting into the older partition seemed to work right away. It's just that I don't have any use for that other partition right now, it's a leftover from back when I migrated to Mavericks.
I am baffled how all of this connects together. Network issues, boot up failure without apparent disk issues? Has anyone else seen anything like this?

I am still working on restoring my iMac with 10.9.
I've cloned the affected partition. I used Disk Utility and it Restored without apparent unto an external drive. So I tried booting from that drive, but I get the same result as booting from the partition directly. Not a major surprise I guess since this is supposed to be an identical copy.
I have also created a dmg image out of the partition, and I was able to open that on my MBP without problems! All the files seem to be there. It seems to be something specific with the, uh,  boot sector or, uh, something?
Next, I booted into Single User mode and ran fsck -fy. The Knowledgebase says it's okay to do it if Safe Mode doesn't work, right? The first time it ran, I got conflicting results. It said both
** The volume appears to be OK
    **THE VOLUME WAS MODIFIED**
The Knowledgebase seems to suggest that it should only say one or the other?
    Running it again, it said
** The volume appears to be OK
Alas, rebooting it still doesn't work, it continues hanging at the Apple logo.

  • I am having trouble connecting to my network all of a sudden. It is not an issue with the service/router. I keep getting kicked off and getting a ! in my airport... anyone know what's up with this?

I am having trouble connecting to my network all of a sudden. I am able to connect to other networks but not my own. It is not an issue with the service/router because other devices connect fine. I keep getting kicked off and getting a ! in my airport. Last time it happended I called apple and the suggested I wipe my HD and reinstall everything. I did and it did not work. One day I turned my laptop on and it connected no problem. Now it has kicked me off again. I tried resetting my IP address but that does not work either! Has anyone had this problem?

    Try this:
Apple menu / System Preferences / Network.
Click Location: and select Edit Locations..
Click + (plus sign), and enter a name for the new location - anything will do.
    Apply this.

It's important that you have a steady WiFi connection, ZealousEdge. What phone do you have? Is your phone unable to connect to any WiFi network? If you can, please try deleting the saved WiFi network and re-adding it.

  • Two Issues: Cannot connect to wireless networks; Cannot load certain sites

    Hey everybody,
    I have a MacBook Pro 15".
In just the past week, I've stumbled upon two sudden problems with my network/internet connectivity.
First, I can no longer connect to wireless networks, be it an infrastructure point or computer-to-computer ad-hoc networks. I'm not really sure why. I installed the latest AirPort Update (4.2.3, according to System Profiler). I also recently installed both iStumbler and KisMac v.21. When I started having issues, I thought that maybe one of these two programs might be the culprit, so I uninstalled both of them but I still have the same problem.
Second, I've had issues with not being able to connect to certain websites. I use both Safari and BonEcho as my browsers. The specific sites seem random:
    www.weffriddles.com
    www.macrumors.com
    images.google.com
    sports.yahoo.com
    finance.yahoo.com
    to list a few.
If you need any diagnostic information, please let me know.
Thanks in advance for any advice/help you can provide!
    Tommy H.
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   browsers: Safari, BonEcho/ Airport Driver Version: 4.2.3

If you are trying to connect to a third-party router using WPA or WEP, there is a good chance that your Airport card was broken by Apple's 2007-02 Airport Update. There is no fix, and for many of us, our Macbooks and Macbook Pros are useless for wireless connections until Apple fixes the issue. At this point, Apple seems to be denying that there even is an issue, so we may all be in for a long wait indeed.

  • Officejet Pro 8610 - Can't connect to wireless network (and has similar issue with previous printer)

When I returned from a trip, I was unable to connect to my trusty HP All-in-one 7510 that I had on my network for three years.  I tried troubleshooting it, reinstalling the software on numerous computers, and fixing the printer, but alas the printer said that it was connected to the network, and none of my computers wanted to find it anymore.
Then I bought my new Officejet Pro 8610 this week, set it up...and I am experiencing the same issue.  I tried using the link and support took from this post - http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup/Officejet-Pro-8610-Can-t-connect-to-wi... but the printer was unable to be found on the network.
I would appreciate any help on this issue.  Thanks!

  • Network issue with initial connections on Hyper-V

This is the opposite of all the other networking issues I have seen with Hyper-V- anyone run into this?
I am running Hyper-V on a Server Core installation, and have had the same issue when I used Server 2012R2 as when I used Server 2008R2 on the same server as a virtual host. The server is an HP ProLiant DL360 Gen8 with 2x 8-core processors, 32 GB RAM. The
VM is sized and configured to stay within 1 NUMA node. It uses a single port of the 4-port HP/Broadcom 331 NIC, with all the TCP LSO settings disable at the switch, host, and guest, same with the power management settings. We have ProxyARP on the network,
so I have set the ArpRetryCount key to 0.
I have seen it happening with and without SR-IOV enabled. The guest OS is an RDS server, so for the sake of our CAL's it has to stay at Server 2008R2. I have set up a HOSTS file to mitigate this problem, as it seems to be a DNS issue- Here's what happens:
The first time I visit a resource, the server will timeout. An example not in our HOSTS file does this consistently: If I go to https://mail.mydomain.com/OutlookWebAccess, it spins for a couple of minutes before timing out. I hit refresh and the page loads
immediately. This server is colocated in-house, as is the mailserver. I'd say it is a DNS issue at some level, but I'd like to know what level it is- Is it just timing out trying to cache the DNS request, or is there a performance issue with a DNS server on
the network? (All of our DNS is AD-integrated running on DC's).
Here is where I'm seeing this:
    Internet Explorer- described above
Salient Interactive Miner- at the login screen, it searches for a database and times out. If I go to the setup and enter the IP address, it still times out. It will not find the database server until I quit and restart the program. If this is the same issue,
it would obviously not be a DNS problem.
I DON'T see it in GP9 connecting to a datasource
Prior to setting up the HOSTS file, I saw this in Windows Explorer connecting to network shares on the same LAN segment.
This appears to only happen to the Hyper-V guest OS. As a best practice, whenever Windows Update runs, I update the Integration Components.
I have the bindings properly ordered on the guest VM, with the network adapter the goes to the physical NIC first, and IPv4 ordered before IPv6.
All updates are isntalled, and the firmware is at it's latest revision.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Daniel,
" This appears to only happen to the Hyper-V guest OS. "
Do you mean that any other hosts can access the network resource normally  except these VMs ?
If yes , my suggestion is to disable the VMQ on the physical NIC  for the VMs , then try test again .
    Best Regards

  • How can i fix my iphone 3gs when i have network issues after updating to IOS 6.1.3 and avoid the connect to ITunes screen?

Im an owner of an Iphone 3gs.
When I updated my software to IOS 6.1.3 I started having network issues such as my phone would go on searching, it would search for signal and then No service after few minutes it would restart and when its on again it would show me Connect To Itunes screen, I tried connecting but nothing happens and if I just leave it as it is it will just keep on restarting and showing the same screen sometimes I might get lucky and the phone will start working again but No Service and if I turn on my 3G for the times Im outdoors it will just restart again so 3G is also another problem I have got. Today I decided to take it to an Apple Store, the guy restored it and now what happens is that it switches on and is showing me the connect to Itunes message but with black backround and i cant do anything it keeps on restarting and showing the same thing. Please if there is anyone that would like to spend some time with me to help me out, he would be more than Welcome.

  • Issues connecting to my network!!

I am currently on my second Airport express after my first one just stopped working one day after 18 months of good service! I bought the second A.E. about 4 months ago. In the last few days I have been unable to connect to the network.
This time I don't think it is a problem with Airport express as my flatmate who has a PC can pick up the network without any problems. However, I can also pick up five other networks which are in the surronding apartments in my apt block but I still can not pick up my home network. This is a little frustrating to say the least. The only thing that has changed in the last few days is that I have updated OS X to 10.4.10. Could this be the reason for me not being able to connect to my network or could it be something more sinister?! If anyone has had the same problem or can provide me with an answer it would be much apprecitated.
    Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if this is the same issue, but it sounds similar regarding printing. My AP Express is connected to my network via ethernet and has a USB connector for my printer. It stopped recognizing the printer (which works fine with direct USB connection). I've updated AP firmware, utility, etc & it shows as available on the Airport network. It is not available to configure for iTunes and printing as noted??????
Time for a new Airport Express or is this a bug? What wears out on these guys requiring replacement?
    TIA

  • JDBC Connection Jobs Continue to Run After Network Issues

We've got 7.0 SP13 installed in our DEV and QAS environments.  We connect to iSeries DB2 tables using a JDBC connection.  We recently experienced a network issue that shutdown PI.  Problem is that the system jobs used to connect to the iSeries are still running and still requiring more and more temporary storage.  We've rebooted our PI boxes but still these connection jobs continue to run and gobble up more memory.
Are we missing something in our configuration of these communication channels that will force these jobs to end???
    Thanks in advance,
    Chad

iSeries is on a separate server altogether.  JDBC connection to the iSeries is setup through the communication channel.
Problem is that the network issue that disconnected PI from the iSeries left these communication jobs running on the iSeries.
Rebooting PI only created MORE of these communication jobs.
Thanks for the reply VJ, but I don't believe the poll interval would help me in this case.

  • Anyone having issues connecting to the network server today?

I just upgraded to the iPhone 5.  After I restored my new phone, I was unable to use iMessage.  I tried to sign in, but I keep getting a message saying "unable to connect to the network server.  Try again"  Any help would be appreciated!  Thanks!

There has to be a problem on the server side.  So many times before the system status indicates there is not problem and everything is fine, but that is not always the case.  I spent hours on the phone one day with the same issue and it was a waste of my time because it turned out to be a problem with the servers.  It took a long time for the problem to get fixed and what I learned is that no one typically wants to admit there is a problem on the apple side and not the device/user account.  The last problem took almost 24 hours to fix and what was so bad was the amount of time I wasted with technical support trying various things to try to fix what couldn't be fixed on my end.  Fix the servers problem apple!

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
Try This - Renew IP Address:
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list

  • LRT 214 Issue connecting to windstream network running thru adtran switch to cisco modem

Well this one has been perplexing and I am not sure where my problem might be.
Currently the site has a static IP coming in on a T1 that is running data and voip.  The cisco modem is in bridge mode and it connects to an adtran switch then it connects to a netgear router that is running dhcp and is acting as a router.  It has the public static IP , gateway, and dns, works perfect.  I am putting in two LRT214's, one at a remote and one at this stie.  The remote worked perfect but on a different ISP .  When I put the new LRT214 in it will only connect to the internet when not connected to the ADTRAN switch.  As soon as it is connected to the ADTRAN which connects the entire network, the internet connection goes down.  If I unplug the adtran from the linksys the internet will not come back up until I cycle the power on the linksys.  I have run ip scanner looking for some other device that might be causing a conflict but cannot find anythign.  I can put the netgear back in and everything works perfect.  I have tried runnning the linksys with NAT enabled and disabled, neither solve the problem or keep it from connecting to the internet as long as the adtran is not plugged in.  Also the Adtran as two ethernet cables coming from it, one goes to the WAN on the linksys and the other goes to ports 1 - 4 on the linksys, just as it was configured on the netgear.  Windstream support has no clue, they say the ADTRAN is no more than a switch and I tend to believe them.  I have not taken the time to disconnect each ethernet cable from each port on the adtran and then plug in one by one to see if one of them would be offending the linksys.  I have a laptop connected to the linksys in port 2 and able to surf the net but as soon as I plug in the adtran my internet goes down.  I have tried different ports on the linksys for the connection to the adtran and that doesn't help.

I'm not quite sure if you really need to have two ethernet cables connected from the Adtran switch going to the both the WAN port and regular port of the LRT214. That connection can cause a loop which may have caused the connection problem.
Haven't handled any Adtran switch before, are you configuring port aggregation to increase bandwith/capacity thereby having two connections going to the LRT? If not, you may try isolating it by making a connection only going to the WAN port.
