PC constant disconnect and strange log entrys

A few weeks ago I upgraded my PC (new motherboard, psu, case) and ever since I have had problem with my USB wi fi modem. Now it will work for a few mins then kinda disconnect for a few seconds then come back when this happens all web pages stop loading. and this is what my log looks like. I havn't got any port forwarding set by me, the firewall is disabled and upnd is off. This is on a HH3 any idea what the issues is?

Boot from the Hardware Test disc that came with the computer. Follow the onscreen directions and run the extended test a number of times. This will be time consuming, but it may be the only way to get it to turn up an error. Does sound like it might be the video card. Apple replacement parts for the G5 are not very reliable. Write down the error if you get one.

• Constant disconnections and reboots

Over the last couple of weeks, my Homehub 4 seems to be disconnecting and rebooting more frequently than usual.
But today it has been happening constantly. It will happen during an incoming or outgoing landline call, but more often it is happening when the landline is not in use. The landline is noticeably and unusually crackly.
I have performed a BT line test but no fault was found, and I am warned of the potential £129 charge if I proceed with an engineer call out. I have tested via the master socket and experience the same crackle on the landline, and same disconnections/reboots with the Homehub 4. I have replaced the filters and also tested with my old Homehub 3, but still experience all the same issues.
Connecting via BT Fon, I experience far better speeds than my home connection has been of late.
I will try and copy a couple of pages of the Homehub's Events Log, but am having difficulty remaining online long enough to access the hub's settings. It makes little sense to me, but I am wonder if someone else could kindly take a look to see if anything stands out as a possible cause of the problem.
Many thanks.

• Constant disconnecting and reconnecting with WPA2 enterprise wifi. Any available solution?

I know it can't be the wifi because as recent as yesterday on Mavericks everything was fine. Now after the update it constantly disconnects and reconnects as much as a few times per five minutes! I've read on Reddit other people are having similar problems. Hopefully Apple fixes this soon.

• Constant disconnects and slow speed

Between 7am and 9pm my internet is just terrible. I lose connection pretty much all day. The longest I'm able to be online is maybe half an hour. It just goes out at random times and stays out until later at night and it will come back.
Also my speed is just all over the place. When downloading stuff it goes from 380 kb/s to 100 kb/s and goes back and forth.
I have a Westell 327w.
Transceiver Revision: 7.2.3.0
Vendor ID Code: 4
Line Mode: G.DMT Mode
Data Path: Interleaved
Transceiver Information Downstream Path Upstream Path
DSL Speed (Kbits/Sec) 3360 640
Margin (dB) 21.5 10.0
Line Attenuation (dB) 24.5 13.0
Transmit Power (dBm) 7.3 11.9
I forgot to mention that 2 technicians came out. The first one came out ran a test and said everything was fine. The second one came out and did a test and went up the street for something. He also said that the connection would go out for a day or two. It has been 2 and a half weeks since.

#1 Margin (dB) - Signal to noise margin. 6 is pretty bad possibly unusable at times, 20 is very good. You normally want 12dB or better IIRC from back in my DSL days. The higher the number, the better to a point.
Line Attenuation - Measure the amount the signal has degraded. Below 20dB is excellent, above 50 is poor, fill in the dots for anything in between.
a) Did you try connecting your modem directly to the NID?
Points to: http://www.dslreports.com/faq/1317
b) If not, please do and retest those margins and Line Attenuation.

• Constant disconnects and webpages failing to load ...

First off I tried phoning but I just got passed around departments for 20+minutes and then hung up on... so naturally I don't care to go through that shoddy phone service again, I just hope theres a mod or something on here that can help.
Basically my net keeps going off at random times and sometimes certain webpages won't load in no matter what I do yet when this occurs other webpages load in fine. Speed of the net in general is fine still, I haven't noticed any dramatic speed drops and when these problems do happen the speed stays up at 50mb/s down and 12mb/s up.
Any mods out there that could help out? I can PM all the relevant details as required.
Thanks in advance

If you expect answers to anything on here I would say you will be waiting for the same length of time as the product we're all unhappy with "Infinity / Infinity2"

• Strange Entries in System and Console Logs

I have some strange entries in my system and console logs. In the system log, I regularly see these entries:
Feb 24 21:07:29 joseph-youngs-computer /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Apple80211.framework/Resources/airport: Error: owner of process not logged in on console - exiting.
Feb 24 21:20:32 joseph-youngs-computer kernel[0]: (82: coreservicesd)tfp: failed on 0:
In my console log, I regularly find these entries:
2006-02-25 09:23:24 -0600
2006-02-24 21:07:30.530 loginwindow[803] FSResolveAliasWithMountFlags returned err = -43
On occasion, I find something like this in my console log:
Assert failed: /Users/dave/dev/flash/player/FlashPlayer/platform/mac/plugins/../../../core/spl ay.cpp:7105
I admit to being something of a novice with the Mac, so I am not sure what to make of these entries, though I never noticed anything like this on my eMac, or on my prior iMac. Also, on the entry above, there are no users named dave on my Mac.
Has anyone else noticed this, and can anyone shed any light on what these messages mean?

Resolved with a clean install.

• OS 10.8.2 on an imac. Whenever I wake from sleep, the wifi has disconnected and I have to use the Netowrk Diagnostics in the Network settings to log back in to my router. Every time. is there any kind of fix for this?

I am running OS 10.8.2 and everytime I wake my computer from sleep, the wifi is disconnected and I have to use the Network Diagnostics assistant to reconnect to my router. Is there any way to get it to not disconnect everytime? I have resorted to just leaving Network Diagnostics open and just rejoining the network every single time I wake the computer. Any help here?

• Have an iMac 2008/09 on starting today I have a white screen, an apple icon and a constant rotating sun, nothing else. I've tried turning off and disconnecting and reconnecting the power lead with the same results. Any thoughts? Many thanks Matt

Have a 2008/9 iMac on starting up today I have only a white screen, apple icon and a continuous revolving sun. Have tried turning off and on and disconnecting and reconnecting the power with no affect - any thoughts or advice please. Thanks Matt

If your iMac came w/system DVDs, do the following:
Disconnect all devices from the computer then do the following:
Boot up from your DVD that originally came w/the iMac while holding down the "c" key.
Select the language you wish to use, and then choose "Disk Utility" from the menu bar.
Your HD should appear in a panel on the left hand side of the window which opens. Select it and then click on the "repair disk" button in the right hand section of the window.
Once this process has been completed restart your computer and repair permissions directly from Disk Utility.
If Disk Utility is unable to complete the repair, you will need to use a stronger 3rd party utility like DiskWarrior, Techtool PRO (not Deluxe) or Drive Genius.

• Constant dropouts and disconnects

I'm hoping that somebody here can help me as i'm at my wits end with my Broadband service form BT.
Saying i'm not impressed is putting it mildly. My conection constantly drops from 16mbs down to about 100kbs every sixty seconds or so and sometimes it just drops out all together to the point where my sons games disconnect from the internet. This would not normally be a major issue, but my son has aspergers syndrome, he cannot understand why his games keep disconnecting and it makes him extremely angry and upset to the point where he is completely in tears.
Even when i try to explain what is happening he still doesn't understand
This has only been doing this for the last week or so. Everything is hardwired to the router, nothing connects wirelessly so interference isn't the issue. I have checked every connection, tried different cables, swapped filters, i have even tried running different consoles on the router individually and the issue still persissts.
I know my exchange (CMSED) is due get upgraded to fibre around this time so i am guesing this may be the issue, but upto now i haven't managed to find out if this is the case. Can anyone confirm if this is the case or throw any pointers on how to resolve this issue.
Its only going to be a matter of time before my son either damages his console, TV or worst still, injures himself if this continues. The consoles i don't care about as they can be replaced, i'm more concerned about my son.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks for looking.

• Exchange 2010 DAG netowrk replications issues - Causing database copies to be disconnected and resynchronizing.

My
environment is as follows.
We have 3 exchange 2010 servers.
EX1, EX2, DREX1. All servers are exchange 2010 14.2 build 247.5
EX1 and EX2 have two nics, one LAN and one for BACKUP
The dag is configured to to communicate to all three.
The IP for EX1 is 192.168.100.51 - LAN, switch A; 160.100.3.51 - BACKUP, switch B
The IP for EX2 is 192.168.100.52 - LAN, switch A; 160.100.3.52 - BACKUP, switch B
DREX1 is located in another network. It is in another building connected via vpn. The ip
for DREX1 is 192.170.100.51. There is no BACKUP network for this server
(These are not the actual address, but the concept is similar)
The dag network configuration is as follows.
DAGNetworkDR has a subnet of 192.170.100.0/24; Network Interface of 192.170.100.51
DAGNetwork01 (LAN) has a subnet of 192.168.100.0/24; Network Interfaces of 192.168.100.51
and 192.168.100.52
DAGNetwork02 (BACKUP) has a subnet of 160.100.3.0/24; Network Interfaces of
160.100.3.51 and 160.100.3.52
Last Friday, 3/7/14 something happened.
To lead up to that, I noticed the issue because we have DPM 2010 making 15minute express
full backups of our exchange databases when I reviewed the backup jobs, the
exchange database backups using dpm2010 failed all weekend long starting at
11:00pm that Friday.
The issue that occurred was that the database copies went to a status of Disconnected and
Resynchronizing, and after about 30 seconds, the status would show
Resynchronizing.
All attempts to resolve this with the research methods failed. Deleting the
logs and reseeding failed, suspending, then rebuilding failed.
Creating a new database worked, creating a database copy worked, but seeding the copy
failed. All with the same pattern, a status of Disconnected and
Resynchronizing, and after about 30 seconds, and the status would show
Resynchronizing.
The database was mounted on EX2, and seeding to EX1
DREX1 has no issues.
All the DAG networks were in a good status, all Green and all up. I could ping from
EX1 to EX2 and from EX2 to EX1 on both networks fine.
In the middle of the week, about 3/12/14, we resolved the issue. We rebooted EX1, no
fix, but after rebooting EX2, it all resolved. It did a fail over to DREX1. I think it failed to do the failover to EX1. However, when it came back up, it was happy, it was reseeding slowly. After about an hour and a half, it
was all healthy.
We thought it was all good EXCEPT, on Friday night at 11:00pmish on 3/14/14, the same
issue occurred; a status of Disconnected and Resynchronizing, and after about
30 seconds, the status would show Resynchronizing.
The database was mounted on EX2 and seeding to EX1 again. I did not notice the
issue until I performed my review of the backup jobs again on Monday.
Late Monday morning, my boss and I were looking at more articles, but all the same results,
delete the database copy and reseed. Which we knew would not work.
I mentioned that it was strange because the networks were all up. What made us try the next
scenarios was just "luck" I guess. I made a statement about not remembering
which networks DAG replication took place over. Again, we have a LAN and
a BACKUP network. Bother were listed to use replication, so we decided to
disable replication over the BACKUP network in the EMC. Immediately, the
database copies switch to healthy and started seeding.
Later that evening I enabled replication over the BACKUP network and it failed again with
a status of Disconnected and Resynchronizing, and after about 30 seconds, the
status would show Resynchronizing. I disabled the replication over the
BACKUP network and the database copy went back to healthy
The last round of windows updates were pushed to these boxes the Friday before the
issues began, 2/28/14. I don't believe the updates to be the issue.
Can anyone make any suggestions as to where to look? It worked with the BACKUP
network enabled to so long that is eluding me as to why the issues would start
all of a sudden. I am also confident that the switch configuration for the
BACKUP network has not been changed at all in at least 2-3 months. I am
still open to look at the config. Please help if you can.

Lastly, this is more of a monitoring thing, if anyone can suggest a good way to monitor
the database copies so that I can be alerted when the status changes. We
use WhatsUpGold 16.2 to monitor the devices.
Thanks for any future assistance.

You don't have to enable the Replication on Backup Network.
You should collapse your DAG network.

Has anyone found a solution to this, other than reverting to Airport Firmware 7.5.2?

Welcome to the club.. there is a very long thread.. here.
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3526741?tstart=0
There seems to be any number of factors.. where the solutions are little silly things..
Start from the end of the thread and work backwards as this has been ongoing for a long time.. and experience has improved.
What you are seeing btw is the change apple made in Lion and 7.6 to higher security version of AFP.. but it is a mess IMHO.. and has not worked at all well.

Since upgrading to Mavericks, I have been unable to sync devices (specifically ipad mini and iphone 4s) to my MId 2013 Imac . They wil rapidly connect and disconnect, and I'm unable to do anything with the device. This happens with both USB ports. Any suggestions?
MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.9.1)

Obviously, syncing an iOS device with iTunes over USB is still supported in Mavericks. Calendar and contact syncing with iTunes is no longer supported. That has nothing to do with your problem.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

• Help with Presence Server 9.0 and Compliance Logging to Postgres

I recently got Presence IM up and running, version, 9.0.1, using Jabber for Windows 9.1.1. I am required to log all conversations so I stood up a postgres server, version 9.1. I am not having any success with getting messages to log however.
I have gone through the database deployment guide, along with the IM guide and the regular deployment guide that has some of the persistent chat stuff in it.
Presence has created tables and did log some of the persistent chat stuff I did using CUPC 8.6 so I know the connection is working. The 'jm' table was created so I know the connection for compliance is good as well. I am just not sure what I am missing as to why it wont log conversations.
I have gone through the guides a couple times each and verified everything was done. I am not seeing any errors in the postgres log files. I see Presence connect and then disconnect right away.
Any help or advice with log files or where to look next would be greatly appreciated.

I checked the conf file and it matches what you recommended.
I then turned on trace logging, restarted the message archiver, ensured the external database screen show it could connect and tried sending some IM's. The logs are below.
Still, no tables have any entries.
