PC content viewer shows only low res thumbnails of PDF folios (from folio builder)

Since i can't seem to find a similar question, here's my story:
I've recently held a small class of 2*18 students, running various versions of indesign (mostly Cs6 and CC) and various OS (MacOs, Win7, Win 8).
On the Win 7 and 8 systems, some of the students had a blurry/low res and no interactivity feature output of anything coming from Folio Builder.
Regular Interactive Overlay Folio preview always turned well, and preview on the devices were ok too (except for the long process of putting things online when the PC users would want to preview on an iPad).
But i couldn't work them out of the horrible low res preview when the folios were built in Folio Builder.
So far i haven't found time to narrow the failing machines (we didn't have a lot of time for this).
Is this problem known ? Is there a workaround ?

Hi bob, as i mentionned in the title, it's the PC (aka desktop) Content Viewer that's concerned.
I know it's supposed to be rasterized, but the problem here is their (desktop) Content Viewer really displays the thumbnails instead of the expected (and interactive) content.
I had never encountered this kind of behaviour before, and couldn't track that on the website.

Viewer showing only saturated black and white

My Aperture is gone into a funk -- The viewer shows only a totally saturated black and white image -- each pixel is either all white or all black (browser and thumbnails are normal). This is for all images in all projects. I have rebooted the machine and restarted Aperture to no avail. I cant find a preference item that seems to control this. Ideas?
Here is info on my system hardware:

Partially answering my own question (perhaps this will help others). Looking more closely at the viewer screen, I saw the words "proofing profile". So I found that the proofing profile was turned on in the view menu, and it was set to "black and white". (This must have inadvertently been set when I tried to convert an image in monochrome for printing.) Turning off the proofing profile in the view menu returned me to the original images.
However, I still do not understand why the proofing profile images were totally saturated. Is "black and white" different from monochrome? Where are the settings to change the saturation on the proofing profile?

Viewer shows only white when Browser clips selected?

I'm using FCP 7.0.3 on my iMac 10.8.3. I was fifteen minutes into a final edit on my project when my viewer stopped
displaying clips that I have in Browser bins. The Viewer shows only a white screen when clips are clicked. My timeline clips
display ok when clicked. In addition, I cannot see text color in the Viewer although it superimposes on the Timeline fine. I've
restarted and dumped the Library>Preferences> com.apple.RegFinalCutStudio.plist with no results. Anything else I can try without
dumping my project?

Check to see that RGB is checked for Viewer Display settings.

SCEP - NDES: CRP.log shows only "Perf Test Hook, Challenge is read from registry"

i exactly did the installation and configuration as described here:

However, CRP.log shows only "Perf Test Hook, Challenge is read from registry" and nothing happens, no certs gets deployed.
In addition i don't see any errors in the logs?
Any suggestions?
Is its neccessary to allow any to any communication from NDES Server (in DMZ) to SCCM?

Why are my slideshow images showing as low res?

I'm creating a site that will show a housing development in the works, and with each lot number that's clicked on the home page, the link goes to a page with a slideshow (My Albums) and when that is clicked you're taken to a new page with separate slideshow.
I've got two questions:
1. Why do the images show up as low res on the My Albums page, but are the preferred higher res on the slideshow page?
2. I'd like to just have a slideshow on the first page without having to click on the image to link to a whole other page for the slideshow. The confusing part is, while working in iWeb, the slideshow does exactly what I'd like it to do, but when published I get the ghastly low res images and I have to click on that to get to the "real" slideshow! Is there a setting I'm missing?

What's the URL of your site so we can examine it first hand? Do you have iWeb's preferences set to optimize images when imported?

To get rid of the album page and leave the photo pages just move the photo pages out of the album page.

Design view showing only background.

I'm working with Dreamweaver MX 2004. Suddenly the design view for one of my pages is showing only the background. The background is part of an external style sheet. There are no scroll bars so it's not just off to the side. The page with the exact same code is online and looks right. If anyone can help me I'd sure appreciate it.

Published to Distributing service, adobe content viewer showing 2 copies of folio

I have published a folio to the distribution service and adobe content viewer is showing 2 copies of the folio. One of them has a blue corner ribbon the other one does not. Why are their 2 folios?

Think of the folio with the blue stripe as your test folio and the one without the blue stripe as your public folio. When you publish a custom viewer, the one without the blue stripe is the one your customers see. Sometimes you want to make changes to a published folio. When you update your articles, you check the folio with the blue stripe. If the test folio looks good, you re-publish (update) the folio, which updates the folio without the blue stripe.

Display only 1 record using uploaded PDF document from 3rdparty Website

I'm trying to create my first BI publisher report using a PDF document from 3rd party website. I want to populate the name from EMP table to one of the fields in the PDF doc.
Here's the steps I've done:
1. Created and saved a data set using only the ENAME column of EMP table. 14 records are available from the table.
2. Run xml output and then save as sample data.
3. Downloaded the PDF doc from the 3rd party website (government form - US Custom Form 7512).
4. Using Adobe Acrobat X Version 10.1.4, I mapped the element name (ENAME) from my input XML file to the Name field.

There could be an issue with the Loop. I guess your Template is looking at the first record only and not reading through all the records.
Try to get the BI Publisher Desktop tool. Using this tool you can merge PDF document and XML to see the output from your local PC/Laptop. It will be easy for you to debug.

AVCHD IN IMOVIE 8, NO HD FILMS SHOW IN IMPORT ONLY "LOW RES" ONES?

I have leopard and imovie 8. My trauma led life with macs and sonys is so far! I can view through the import wizard any non hd films (standard type) but the hd ones on the camera do not show in imovies import?

I have added a column named *'A*' in rows and '*moneyspent*' in measuresfield and the '*period*' in the columnsfield in the pivot view.I'm calculating the sum of
the rows and columns..
I'm not getting the sum valueof moneyspent in the pie chart..instead i'm getting only the first column of period in the pivot table in the pie chart.
can anyone tell how can i get the sum value of pivot table in pie chart?

let me try to give you an example based on the paint sample:
Use Markets.Region, Products.Brand, 'Sales Measures'.Units
choose a pivot view to display the result: region goes into the rows-section, Brand goes into the columns-section and Units into the measures-section
In the columns-section add a total using the 'add total' at 'Measure Labels' level
the result is a total column on the right side of the pivot.
looking like this:

Brands
Region Enterprise Magicolor Mccloskey Valspar Units Total

What I am looking for is a new column 'Units Total pct'.
If I duplicate the measure to show the values in percent, I'll get a second column per Brand (showing the absolute and percentage values) - that's what I don't want

I need to select somehow to import only jpeg images from my Canon 5D Mk11 camera to an iPad 2
I take photographs in both RAW (high quality up to 30Mb file size) and JPEG low quality for use on iPad and Internet. The Raw files I save to a 1Tb Multimedia Storage Viewer and later down load-them to my computer where I process them for high quality prints.
Using the Camera Kit I can’t find an option to only download jpeg images, and fill the iPad memory with unwanted RAW images. Can you please tell me how to get over this problem?

Have you checked your "Import" settings for "Raw&Jpeg" pairs in the "Import" panel?
You can set Aperture to import raw, jpeg, or raw&jpeg.
If you imported Raw&Jpeg, but have set Aperture to use the Jpeg as original, you will see the imported image as Jpeg image, not as a raw image, even if the raw has also been imported. You can switch between Raw and Jpeg originals for selected images from the Photos menu:
Photos > Use Raw as original.

BPS Variable exits Ranges showing only Low Value

I am attempting to show a comparison column in my planning layout which represents YTD values.
The data in my cube is as follows.
Cal Qtr      Fisc Period      Amount
2006.1       2006.003           10
2006.1       2006.001           20
Now in my variable selection for the layout, i define user exits for cal quarter and fisc period. I define the restriction for cal quarter as between 2006.1 and 2006.1
and the restriction for fiscal period as between 2006.001 and 2006.003. However the resulting output is only the data from 2006.001 (the 'low' value = 20). Does anyone know why this is so ? Is this a bug or an expected functionality?

Hi,
In BPS, you can only select a single value.
If you enter multiple values in your variable, example like you did with 2006.001 to 2006.003, only the lowest value will be used for selection.
The result is thus the same as if you would have entered 2006.001 to 2006.001.
This can be bypassed in 2 ways (out of which none deserves the beauty price):
1) reload the data in your cube and post the result on a single date. You can then restrict your comparison column to this single date.
2) make the comparison column dynamic on your time variable.
You will then see 3 columns for each month, you can sum the 3 columns to display the total.

Canvas view shows only blank cavas

When I went to re-open a file I was working on during my last session, I am now unable to view any of the the objects in the "editing" view of Xcelsius. The canvas is completely blank (basic blue background, no grid showing).
However, when I go to preview the object, the .swf build/result is fine, just as I left it, and I can edit the objects (blindly) in the bject browser. I can not figure out whay this is so - is this human (my) error, or is there a fix?
BTW - this does not occur in other files that I have been working on, nor does it occur is previous versions of the same file that I have saved in the past.
Please advise.

This is what i do whenever i face this problem...
--> Open a new blank canvas
--> Copy all the objects from Object Browser from your old dashboard and paste it in new blank new canvas
You should be able view the dashboard

Camera Roll in 4.2 (low res thumbnails?)

When taking pictures with IOS 4.2 and the default photo app, the preview thumbnails in the camera roll seem to be a lower resolution than in the previous versions of IOS. it seems to be missing the 'anti-aliasing' that was there before. more people notice this behavior?
When taking photos with ie ProCamera, everything is perfect.

Just tried it with two other iphones (a 3G and 3GS) and they both displayed the same symptoms :/

Since a while now we have to provide 2 .PDFs to one of our client.
One in HR, because the artwork is printed in China
The second one in LR, so he can check all the texts, pictures, …
But, yesterday, our client came with the wish to only receive 1 .PDF, within the HR and the LR.
I know, it isn't a good idea (I told him), but it's his wish.
So the question is quiet simple, is there a way to "join/merge" those 2 .PDFs but at the same time each keeping their own resolution?
It doesn't have to be an Adobe® solution ;-)
