PC cpu races when i go to library

My PC had not experienced any problems till recently.
I believe all was good until the recent update.11.1.3
The Problem:
When i open itunes the CPU does not race.
But when i open ttunes store, it goes from low hum to high speed intantly.
after that there is no brining down the CPU speed until i close Itunes completly.
Any Solutions out there, Please

It means that the files are not stored on your hard drive anymore. So when you click on a song in iTunes, it comes up saying that it can't play the song. A file is missing. This means that when your hard drive crashed, you lost your data but iTunes some how kept you songs in iTunes. Sorry to have to say this, but it looks like you have to re-download every single song all over again.

Why RAC when there is virtualization?

I struggle with the question why to use RAC when virtualization gives you the same benefits for less money. Or am I totally wrong.
I mean with virtualization you get, resource management, fail over and all that to a lower cost. "Consolidation of servers".
A couple of things that I can think of that RAC supplies such as load balancing, FAN etc are nice features but not vital to our needs.
Hoping for input from other forum member so that I can get this question cleared, or maby there is no such answer.

Yes this is true depending on what HW the host is running on & the type of database. In our case we do not have that big databases, we have many but none of them are high resource consuming.
But that is exactly the input i am looking for.
The reason is that i am trying to consolidate our current platform that consist of many different flavor & types (HW, OS & Cluster) into one single standard platform for our Oracle databases. And our *NIX team are really into the virtualization tech.
For me to propose and stick to a RAC solution I need facts, at the moment i am kind of stuck in the middle.

Well I do not know if Oracle has changed its licensing model while presenting VM, but the last time i checked with Oracle, I have to pay for all 32CPU's and not only for those "4" that i am actually using. "The reason they gave was: There are 32 CPU's that you can use within the machine, and therefor you have to pay for 32."
This is a really awkward way of licensing, but that may have changed now when the VM has been released.

ITunes 10.6 has High CPU Usage when switched to Mini Player

iTunes has high CPU usage when switched to mini player. The CPU usage goes to 80-100% when the next song is played in Mini Player. iTunes then stays at high CPU usage.
Upon exiting mini player the CPU usage will drop back to the normal 0-5% levels.
This only happens when playing from the main music library; which my library is at 7089 items, 42.04 GB.
When playing from a smaller playlist such as a smart playlist with about 15 songs in it for example, the CPU usage stays low/normal.

Do you have any better luck with that if you update to iTunes 10.6.1.7?

iTunes 11.0.2.26 freezes when adding folder to library. This did not occur with any previous version and is taking place with several different folders. Adding files as a batch wrks fine.

When I open iPhoto 9.2.1 it says that my library needs to be upgraded but when I upgrade the library I am trying to open (33 GB worth of pictures from 2006) the new application says it cannot read the files and how to find them on the system to reimport?!

hello, it sounds like the library is damaged.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Google Earth Plugin and LabVIEW: High CPU usage when adding placemarks

I posted this question on stackoverflow earlier this week but feel it might be better suited to the LabVIEW community specifically so I'm reposting here:
I'm writing an application which uses the Google Earth Plugin to display events on the globe. Each event is a single point kml placemark with an icon which is a 3kb png file. Placemarks are uploaded to the plugin as they are received by the software. I am experiencing increasing CPU usage with the number of placemarks that are added.
I have tested displaying a new placemark every second and running until the software running the plugin completely froze (graph attached). The GEPlugin (green trace) stopped responding (i.e. the globe did not respond to the mouse) at around 1200 placemarks added and CPU usage was at ~30%. When the software itself (red trace) froze the plugin was using around 50% CPU and ~3700 placemarks had been added). After the freeze, no new placemarks were added which caused the software to respond (but not the plugin) so I could clear all the placemarks. After the placemarks were cleared from the globe, the CPU usage of the plugin returned to around 5% CPU.
So what I've seen is that GEPlugin CPU usage increases linearly with each kml placemark added. Is this the expected behaviour/ a normal limitation of the plugin? If not is there a more efficient way of adding many placemarks to the globe?
I am using GEPlugin version 7.1.1.1580 (API version 1.010) and LabVIEW 12.0f3

I have had a look at your graphs and understood what you are trying to do. To me it seems that as the image gets more complex it gets harde to render which wold likely cause increase in CPU usage resulting in the freeze. I would suggest you try running the program on anoher computer to check on the RAM front of things. If this is a limitation of the GE Plugin then unfortunately I can not do much to help, but if you think this is a problem coming from your LabVIEW code then you can post your code here and I can take a look.

I am viewing this on a second computer (an older intel duo iMac), not the one I created the library on (a MacBook Pro). Both computers have Aperture 3.2.4 installed. When I return the external to the MacBook, all images appear in browser rectangles. What's happening on the iMac?

You may have a problem with the permissions on your external volume. Probably you are not the owner of your library on the second mac.
If you have not already done so, set the "Ignore Ownership on this Volume" flag on your external volume. To do this, select the volume in the Finder and use the Finder command "File > Get Info" (or ⌘I).
In the "Get Info" panel disclose the "Sharing & Permissions" brick, open the padlock, and enable the "Ignore Ownership on this Volume" flag. You will have to authentificate as administrator to do this.
Then run the "Aperture Library First Aid Tools" on this library and repair the permissions. To launch the "First Aid Tools" hold down the ⌥⌘-key combination while you double click your Aperture Library. Select "Repair Permissions" and run the repair; then repeat with "Repair Database". Do this on the omputer where you created the library and where you can see the thumbnails.
Then check, if you now are able to read the library properly on your iMac.

High CPU usage when graphics card is put at work

I have a 13inch Air with 2GB RAM and 256GB with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. All possible updates have been installed.
I noticed some tearing when trying to move program windows across the screen so I started checking the CPU usage. I saw that it is spiking to 25-35% when moving a window across the screen.When you drag down a window you can see the different copies of the top bar across the screen. Not smooth at all like on a standard PC windows system. Same issue when scrolling through webpages which spikes the cpu
I also noticed a high cpu usage when playing mkv files 25-30% while on an Atom HTPC i get a lower load playing the same file. The Air should be faster than an atom with a nvidia 9400m when playing video files.
I already tried updating the nvidia files to the latest version on their site by hacking the driver inf but this did not resolve the issue.
Has anyone experienced the same or know what could be causing the beavior?

Maybe my initial post was not clear so let me add some clarifications.
I have the problem with Aero disabled
I have the problem on the Apple site which does not have any flash content.
I have already hacked the lastest nvidia drivers to get them on my system which did not change anything. Can you provide a link to some other 'supported' beta drivers?
I am using the new 13 inch air so it has the newer graphics card so I would expect it to be faster than an old HTPC with a 9400m in it. I wasn't stating that my Air had a 9400m.
It would be great if someone you also do the test to check the cpu load:
- when playing a 720 mkv
- when dragging a window across the screen
Just open task manager and see if the CPU spikes.

The back up to disc feature has been removed from recent builds of iTunes. Use SyncToy (PC) or Carbon Copy Cloner (Mac) to clone your iTunes library onto an alternate internal, external or network drive.

This happens to several of my podcasts whenever an updated iOS comes out. You can delete the episode directly from the phone by swiping it from left to right. That seems to fix the issue (they drop off the phone and dont reappear on iTunes). It's as if iTunes stops tracking the play count for some shows.

Receive error 0x80090318 when trying to access Library, Store, Sign In, etc.

I've been having this problem since yesterday. As soon as I launch iTunes, a window appears saying "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. An unknown error occurred (0x80090318). This happens even when I'm in Library, even before attempting at browsing the store or signing in.
I ran diagnostics. It says "Secure link to iTunes Store failed".
I've tried every tip and solution suggested by Apple Support and the community, including reseting winsock, flushing dns, adjusting clock, checking firewall, re-installing iTunes, restarting computer, disabling and enabling Store through Parental Control, checking Internet LAN Options...
I haven't installed or updated any programmes recently so it cannot be caused by a recent update.
I'm running out of options. If anyone has any suggestions, please do share.

Does any one knows how to reduce CPU usage when iam running my telnet developed using java classes.Every time when i start Telnet CPU usage is shooting to 100%.Can any one help to me solve my problem.

You are probably doing some kind of loop that is eating all the CPU idle time. You could reduce your use of the CPU by calling Thread.yield() when you do not need to do anything for a bit, or even better, Thread.sleep(...) to pause your program for a specified number of milliseconds.

Role Of Servlet when we have Tag Library ?

Hi all,
I am little bit confuse about Servlet Role.
I have been working in a IT (dot com) compnay in India for the last one year. I have developed Program for the Projects and worked in Modules.
When I joined the company we followed MVC (Model View Controller) Architecture, and technology we had use-------- JAVA, JSP,Servlets,Java Bean,JDBC.
But now we are working on Tag Library (Custom Tags) . And our total work is shifted to Tag Library Architecture.
Now, there is no use of Servlet in our Modules and or program except for Login and Password Authentication/Verification.
So I want to know that What is the role of Servlet in the current scenario when we have Tag Library (an excellent feature, code reusablity, fast,less coding in JSP,separate design from coding,separate tag handler class for each tag).
Why do we use Servlet-JSP-Bean Architecture when we have Tag Library
Please guide me to the right direction.

If I understand JSP model 2 architecture (MVC) role of custom tag is to support presentation layer. Construction of tag classes is coupled with data presentation also data flow in custom tags is connected with atributies, tag body etc. Also tasks such a security validation should be rather done in filters then in custom tag, becouse it depends then on puting tag in page source.
In fact each approach (if working:)) is good.
In real world real logic should be implemented in business objects layer and then need for servlets is limited to one controller servlet. And I believe servlets are best in this role. And with this approach use of TLs is in fact limited to presentation support.
