I did the restore and it cleared and reset the iPod but after it finished the same error came up. I tried this 3 times. Also it no longer shows up as a drine in My Computer.
if it's relentlessly doing that to you, it's plausible that the message is being caused by a Windows drive letter confusion. (that's consistent with the disappearance for My Computer, too.)
see the following article for troubleshooting information on that possibility:

That message is telling you that you do not have enough stgorage on the iPod to accomodate all the media you are trying to sync to the iPod.

  • Updated iTunes software & ITunes Updater and now cannot sync iPod

I was requested to update my iTunes software and install the iTunes updater, which I accomplished. Now when I go to sync up my iPod I get the following error message "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to be closed, We are sorry for the inconvenience" It will not allow iTunes to remain open or sync with my iPod. It didn't happen prior to installing the updater. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hard to believe an update did this!! I had the exact problem-updated my iPod & iTunes software & iTunes was crashing whenever I hooked up the iPod-"unclicking" all of my purchased music did the trick! THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH FOR THAT TIP-I'M SURE I WOULD'VE STILL BEEN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM!!
Wish I hadn't restored factory settings first since I would have at least still had my piles of PURCHASED music on the iPod-I accidentally had ONE purchased song checked off to update the iPod & it crashed all over again-glad it was easy enough to figure out which song wasn't from my cd collection that I uploaded! Does anyone have any idea how this will be handled? It seems that money should be refunded for buying these songs for Apple products that, upon the company's instructions to upgrade, can no longer be played on the hardware they're specifically designed for! Or at least they're hopefully coming up with a new upgrade to solve the problem! Very irritating situation!

  • TS4062 Cant sync Ipod touch. Itunes 11 cant determine apps on ipod.

Recently upgraded to Itunes 11 and tried to sync computer (windows vista) with my ipod touch. Started to sync then stopped with meassage"apps installed on ipod could not be determined".  Would not let me drag and drop apps into home screen either, showed zero apps.  I have 9 working apps on my touch. Can anyone help? Thanks.

You need to buy OS 10.5 or later. If you have an Intel Mac, you can buy 10.6. If you have a PPC Mac, you can find copies of 10.5 for sale on Ebay and Amazon.

  • My Fault!!  Deleted ALL Playlists! Now Cant Sync Songs!!

I deleted every play list (even the ones that came with the itunes download), then i created one play list. Now i can't sync my songs. Here is the message:
"Songs on the iPod "ipod's name" cannot be synced because all of the playlists selected for syncing no longer exist."
What on earth can I do to fix this?!

To change the settings in iTunes 7 connect your iPod and when it appears in the Source list left click on the iPod icon to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. Go to the Music tab and choose Sync Music and the Selected playlists radio button. If you made a new playlist to update from choose the playlist you just made from the selection and click Apply. You can also sync from any existing playlists by choosing the same setting, you just need to make sure that the size of the playlists don't exceed the capacity of your iPod.

  • Moved iTunes library to Go Drive and now cannot sync iPod

My hard drive was full so I moved all my music and photos to an external drive. I configured iTunes so it sees the library on the new drive but now it doesn't see my iPod when I plug it in to sync it.

I moved all my music and photos to an external drive.
You used teh menu Advanced Consolidate, correct?
If you didn't iTunes won't see your music, even if you point it there.
You will need to File -> Add folder to library and select the music on the external drive.
but now it doesn't see my iPod when I plug it in to sync it.
See this -> Windows confuses iPod with network drive or hard drive and may keep iPod from mounting or songs may seem to disappear

  • Cant sync iPod require file is not found

Has anyone received this error message?
If so, anyway to correct it?

Same thing has happened to my ipod, the purchased songs I got will not stay on my ipod because it wont sync. "Unkown error (-48)" pops up everytime i click on a song in my ipod, therefore i cannot update my ipod at all and i have it set on manual so i usually drag my purchases but im stuck now. Apple needs to fix this possible glitch/bug if thats the case pronto.

  • Mac Air Crashed New Mac Need help syncing

My Mac Book Air Crashed. My back up to my music was my IPad. I was able to get my purchased music from to sync with the new Ipad, or rather authorized. I want to get my pics and music from my IPad to the new computer. This is music from old CDs I had uploaded to my Mac Air and then to my IPad and Nano. I want the music that was not purchased from Itunes on my computer.
Can I do that? There has to be a way to do this. I know you can only sync to one computer, but what happens when you have a crash or your computer is lost or destroyed?

  • I updated my iphone to OS 5.0 and now cant sync with my computer/itunes

I just updated my iphone to OS 5 and I have the updated version of Itunes.  But now I cant get my iphone to sync with my itunes and all I have are the apps (the rest of my music and videos was wiped with the update and I cant get the music because it wont sync.
I get the message:  Your iphone cannot by synced.  The required disk cannot be found.

Have you tried disconnecting the phone and reconnecting it? I've had to do that on several occasions, just randomly when I've tried connecting the phone. Also, sometimes exiting out of iTunes and then re-opening works. I once even got a random message telling me that I needed to set my phone up as new because it couldn't read it. Which totally freaked me out. I disconnected, exited and then reconnected and it was back to normal.

  • Events deleted from Mac reappear upon syncing iPod.

I have a few recurring events on my MacBook Pro.
I always sync my iPod Touch thru iTunes over USB.
I often delete occurrences of the recurrent events on my Mac.
When next I sync my iPod thru iTunes over USB, the deleted instances of my recurring events reappear on my Mac.
I would expect that the most recent modification (deletion of an event on the Mac) would be carried over to the iPod—not that the deletion would be reverted by the older data on the iPod.
    Mac OS X 9.5 Mavericks
    iOS 8.0.2

I found the problem was a setting on the SLVR for deleting events in the phone's datebook after the set amount of time passed.

  • HELP-Cant sync ipod tocuh with itunes and has deleted all my itunes library

    Hello,
My ipod touch wont sync with my itunes and it is supposed to do so every time i connect it, also it has deleted my entire itunes library, how can i sync it and how can i restore my library???
    THNX U ALL,
    Yamileth

It can not do that all by itself.
When you plugged it in, iTunes said 'Oh goody! You got a new phone! Would you like to make it just like your old phone?'...
    You explicitly said 'Yes'.
    You can't undo that.
No backup of the current state of the new phone was made. It was wiped and the last backup of your old phone was restored to it.
Anything you had on the new phone is gone.

  • Imported photos from old mac now cant export onto new Macq

Ok so here is the deal.
I was in Iraq and I put all my photos from my Macbook I had to my iPhone. Now the hard drive in that thing crapped out so I bought a iMac the other day. Nice computer for $1700. But with all this money I have spent on this worthless company I can not get my photos off my phone.
As you can see I am ticked off. My phone is broke (lock button don't work) and now I can't get my photos off my phone to get my phone fixed. And the so called Genius' in the apple store just say plug it into iTunes and click import.
So does anyone have a way to get these photos off this phone or have I just found a way to loose 5 years worth of photos?
    <Edited by Host>

    You didn't backup your photos?
The photo sync is one way -computer to iphone.
You can e-mail them to yourself.
The pics will not be of the original quality - iphone pics are reduced in size and quality for viewing on iphone.
You could try a third party program - at your risk.
