PC crashed - Will Sync delete everthing?Save Data/ Music on iPhone??Update?

Hi,
my primary PC just crashed. Now my iPhone is the only source left, where I have saved all my contacts and music. I am afraid, that if I connect the iPhone to my Laptop, it will delete all data off of it, since there is only an empty outlook installed there, as well as no music on this secondary PC. Before I used the automatic synchronisation, that's what makes me believe it will just go ahead and delete everything. Please help me, so I can:
1. Retrieve all my Contacts
2. Use my current music and playlists in the future
3. update to 2.1
4. update all my apps to the current version

Step 1.
Sign into iTunes with new computer (or rebuilt one whatever).
Step 2
open mail program (address book) and put in at least 1 contact...call it dummy and put in fake number
Step 3, plug in iPhone but DON'T SYNC.
Right click on iPhone when it shows it in menu and choose "Transfer Purchased Content". This will take off anything you have on the phone that you BOUGHT from the iTunes store...anything you ripped or got from someplace else...it will not transfer...hence, learn to back up.
Step 4. That is all you can really do, now you can sync and if you have one contact it will merge your phone and that 1, thus bringing over all on the phone and bringing over that one to the phone...once done, you can delete that 1 dummy.
You will have to resync over all your music again as it will delete it all that is why you have to do the other step first to get off what you can.
Also, apps would transfer off phone when you do that option about transfer purchased content.
So lesson is...learn to back up.

I would hate to have to transfer everything into Chrome...
Am I out of luck with this 64-bit unit to sync at all until Firefox supports it in the future?

Well...Update Here: Tried Waterfox and it worked perfectly, got everything in from XP pro pc. SuperFast browsing too.
Granted it is apparently a v.28, I think. Doesn't really matter to me. Now I'm going to try to import both Android bookmarks, etc. Will post my success or failure later.

In order to further investigate the issue on Firefox 30, could you please turn on logging:
# Open about:config and turn on: services.sync.log.appender.file.logOnSuccess and services.sync.log.logger.engine.bookmarks
# Restart Firefox and look at: about:sync-log
# Logs and error messages will be located here

@MikeNTxs - 64bit USB drivers have been available since April of 2010, and they do work. I've synced successfully to my Vista64 bit laptop many times via USB.

Hi,
Firefox Sync works by merging all the info in all your computers. It doesn't replace anything. So if you have information A in one device and information B in other device, after setting up Sync you will have information A+B in both devices.
I hope this clarifies the situation.

No. You can delete your iCloud account from your iPhone 4 and the information will remain in iCloud either through syncing or through a backup.or through both features. Just make sure you have a recent backup.

If you are trying to sync contacts direct with Outlook on your computer via the iTunes sync process, this is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. You need Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010.

Iphone will sync with one computer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
If you have copied everything from the old computer to the new one, then sync al of the info to the iphone.

backup the device and restore it as new.
If you already have or don't need a backup:
Erase your device
Erasing all content and settings will delete all the data from your device, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, calendar information, and any other data. All device settings are restored to their factory condition.
To remove all settings and information from your device, tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. For more information about this feature, see iOS: Understanding 'Erase All Content and Settings'.
If you are unable to erase your device, restore the device using iTunes.

I havn't used that app, but you shouldn't lose any data by updating to 5.1.1 from 5.0.1.
You can make sure you have a backup before updating.

Im trying to free up some room on my phone. I got rid of some apps and movies and did what i can but when i plug my phone in there is more Documents & data then i have as apps and music. i just want to get ride of some documents that are saved in my phone but dont now hot to delete them.

Document & Data on iPhone is junks files including browser history, cookies, logs, caches of photos and videos, database files stored by your apps. You’ll notice that some apps while being very small themselves have accumulated a lot of data. An example of this is shown in the image below, you see that the Facebook app is 109 MB whereas the Documents & Data stored is 1.2 GB. This 1.2 GB is what goes into your “Other” data.
These apps on iPhone don’t provide a way to delete Documents and Data, uninstalling and reinstalling the app is not the best option here. With the help of CleanMyPhone or PhoneClean you can delete the documents and data on iPhone without deleting the app itself.

Hello! I recently replaced an iPhone 4 with an iPhone 6 Plus. When I restored the 6 Plus from the 5 backup, it did not include my save data for Plants vs Zombies 2, and I cannot get the game to synch between the two phones.
