PC crashes as soon as I connect my iPhone 4.

I've recently updated all my Apple applications, and iPhone 4 to iOS 7.  Ever since then, my computer has been acting really strange.  I thought my computer was infected, so I did a few virus scans.  Fortunately, nothing came up in the virus scan results.  But the fact that this is not a virus issue means that this must either be an hardware issue or an software issue.
After messing around with my PC, I found out that my computer only crashes after I connect my iPhone 4.  And again, I want to stress that this only started happening after I updated my device to iOS7.  I had no problems whatsoever with other Apple applications (e.g.: iTunes, iCloud, etc) before the update, and I also had no problem syncing the iPhone to my PC in the past as well.  I have tried reinstalling and even removing the registries of the Apple applications and drivers, but that still didn't work.  So... yea, I really don't know what is going on.  I just know that I had to force shutdown my computer so many times while trying to find the source of the problem because my iPhone would freeze it everytime it was connected.  This is annoying me to no end.  Please help me.

You have a point, but if that were the case, then other usb devices won't work, am I correct?  Well, my other usb devices work fine from what I can see.
And I would like also like to know the solution to my problem, not just the source of my problem.  I don't know how to fix 'corrupted' usb drivers.  That is if it were the actual problem here.

  • ITunes crashes as soon as i connect my iPhone 5s

Hi. I just recently purchased an iPhone 5s and updated it to iOS 7.1.2 as soon as I configured everything out of the box. This is my first ever Apple device. I downloaded iTunes so that I could sync all my data to my iPhone. iTunes works perfectly until I connect my iPhone. I've tried every possible solution I could find on the internet. I authorised iTunes, uninstalled and reinstalled it, deleted the folders it told me to, removed possible conflicting programs such as Samsung Kies and Blackberry Link, etc. The only thing I haven't tried is factory resetting the phone because I want to backup my iPhone, but then again iTunes crashes!!!!
I don't know what to do anymore. Any possible help or solution will be really really appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Hassan

  • PC Suite crashes as soon as I connect phone

    Hi
I have just purchased my Nokia 6303 and installed PC Suite.
When it launches, it always says that Music initialisation failed and Operation failed (unable to read tracks) and then it crashes if the phone is connected. If it is not connected, then it will always crash as soon as I connect the phone.
My OS is WinXP 64bit, SP2
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Are you using OVI or PCSuite? There are still many issues with these apps in W7 (64bit). I suggest you install PCSuite (not OVI) in XP compatible mode as admin. Do not use any USB hubs.

  • ITunes crashes as soon as I connect iPhone, Ipad or Ipod Touch

    Hello,
I have submitted this question before, but despite all kind of attempt, my iTunes (latest version) crashes as soon as I connect with a cable
    - iPhone 5 (iOS 8.0)
    - iPad
    - iPod touch
It does NOT crush when I connect my Ipod Classic.
What I mean with crush: as soon as I insert the cable in the USB port, the name of the divice appears, it then looks as if is synching but after a couple of second the "spinning wheel" blocks and then there is no other way than forcing quit.
It is not the cable, because all devices can be used with iPhoto with the same cable.
    I have reinstalled OS X
    I have rebooted the iPhone
all the devices work normally on my old mac (which doesn't have OS X) and on PC.
Windows Parallel is installed on my macbook pro. Could this be the problem?
It seems that despite all recent updates, there is no solution to this.
    Anybody with the same problem?
Any idea about how to solve it?
    Thanks

    Hello mimward,
It sounds like Windows can see your devices, but iTunes is not seeing them. I would use the troubleshooting in the following article named:

  • ITunes crashing as soon as I connect iPod

    Hi
Just bought an iPod nano (7th) which is functioning fine.
Have updated my iTunes to the 12.0.1 version, also working fine and has transferred all my music and playlist information from the previous version.
However, as soon as I plug my iPod in, iTunes crashes just after it has recognised the device. It is calling it an APPCRASH.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi jaglaser,
Perform the following troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.
Disconnect the Reader Digital Book from the computer and close the Reader software. Once disconnected, remove any memory cards you may have installed in your Reader.
Reconnect the reader and test it for proper functionality. If you are still having the problem, continue to the next step.
Disconnect the Reader Digital Book from the computer and format the Internal Memory of Reader Digital Book.
If the problem still happens, turn off your Reader digital book and do a Hard Reset (https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/31628/c/65%2C66/kw/31628). After doing a Hard Reset, it will be necessary to authorize your unit again.
If possible, install the Reader software on another computer to test.
If my post answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution."

I may have found the problem.
Before, I have always been working on a computer not connected to my employer's network. When installing DM, I always had to select the BIS ("personal email") option.
Now, my computer is connected to the employer's network.Since my device is still syncing wirelessly, I assumed I would still need to use the BIS ("personal email") option.
While troiubleshooting this issue, I noticed when I type netstat that the BES is showing in the TCP connections list. So, on a whim I tried reinstalling DM 5.0.1 with the BES ("work email") option selected. It no longer crashes when I connect my device.

  • Constant Crashing of MacBook Pro when connected to Iphone 3GS 4.3 via USB

The USB Personal Hotspot works great with 3GS and MacbookPro EXCEPT for the constant crashes where you have to reboot. This ONLY Happens while connected via USB to 3GS with Personal Hotspot.
It never happens via regular wifi connections.
Is there a bug in 4.3?

You people do not know how relieved I am that this isn't only happening to me. The thought of returning my 4-day-old 2011 macbook pro is just plain torture.

  • ITunes crashes as soon as I plug in iPhone 3GS

Recently my iPhone 3GS freezes iTunes 9.0.2 (25) every time. I tried every USB port and the same problem occurs. I can open iTunes without the iPhone connected but the minute I plug it in iTunes freezes and I have to force quit.
I read Windows users were having this situation but I have seen some reports on the iTunes Forum.
    Any insight is welcome.
    Thank you,
    Marty

I am using Windows vista 32 bit, and only happened to me once. I got a new desktop charger (Not Apple) and when finished my backup with original cable, I switched to the desktop charger (desktop charger with Iphone plugged in it connected to USB on my PC) and my Itunes froze. I ran Itunes setup again and did a repair. Since then it never happened no matter which USB port/cable I use. I will blame it on the desktop charger (in my case).

Hello please help me!   I updated the itunes on my desktop and once I plugged up my phone it automatically started restoring my phone now all my info, contact, pics, and videos are gone.

Restore your iTunes or iCloud backup to your device: iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or ...
If you do not have an available backup, then your data is lost permanently.  Start over.  The good news is that any iTunes or App Store purchases can be redownloaded by using your Apple ID that was used to purchase/download the content.

  • IPhoto crashes when connecting to iPhone 4

This issue appears to have been around for a while, and I read several answers none of which worked for me.
Suddenly, as soon as I connect my iPhone 4 to iPhoto as I've done many times up until today, iPhoto "quits unexpectedly"...
I don't seem to have a 3vix folder in my Apple Support Library, so no solution there. Help PLEASE!

I have the same problem. I have tried the following to no avail:
    Rebuilding the iPhoto library
    Reparing iPhoto library permissions
Searching for the 3ivx folder as mentioned in another thread, but it isn't there.
Booting in safe mode -> launching iPhoto -> force quitting -> rebooting (I saw this suggested somewhere on the net)
I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 from a recent and rather clean install; iPhoto 9.2.3; and have a brand new iPhone 4S running iOS 5.1.1. In fact, this was my very first attempt at importing photos from the iPhone.

  • Itouch crashes windows as soon as I connect!!!!

    Hi Guys,
Hoping somebody can help me. Had my itouch for 8 months, and never had a problem until this weekend. For some reason as soon as I connect my itouch to my laptop with the USB my laptop crashes. For a split second it says it has connected to a still digital camera but then everything crashes and the laptop reboots from a blue screen! My itunes is up to date as is the itouch. Only thing I have downloaded recently is Apps store but was working fine. This is annoying me beyond beleif as I cant put stuff on the itouch. Anybody got any ideas?
    Thanks

I have same problem. Here's what I do not understand. One person had no problem for 8 months.
Then suddenly.... Me -no problem for 2 weeks. Another person 2 months no problem for 2 months then ....
App note says outdated be web cam drivers. I deleted all web cam drivers...it still reboots my computer or crashes it depending how you look at it.
The guy with no problemm for 8 months-then all of a sudden web cam drivers are outdated?
How am I suppossed to delete pictures from Ipod when I can not even get the thng to synch or get to screen that allows you to synch? Then does that mean I cannot have pictures on Ipd anymore?
Clearly-what was never was a problem has become a problem. I have not added any Windows software other than itunes.
So-if no answers forth coming from Apple-I will return my 475 dollars worth of I touch. Called help; reinstall everything blah blah blah- have done that still have problem.
I'm (If you hadn't already guessed) unhappy. Apple has to do better than this. As much as I dislike Windoze-this learly seems to me to be an Apple problem.

Started happening about 1 or 2 weeks ago.
    No jail break at all.
Tonight I just upgraded to ios 5.01, still broken.
This is really annoying. Please advice.

I got exactly the same problem! I am on a FaceTime call and after sometimes 1 minutes sometimes 1 hour, it crashes. Then when the connection is established it crashes again, then I FaceTime with my iPhone 4, no problem. I run both on the latest version of iOS5.
    What can be the problem?
I do know that a reboot fixes the problem temporarly.
