PC does not detect connection of Zen V P

<font face="Comic Sans MS" color="#000066"]I got the Zen V plus (GB) as a gift for Christmas and am having problems. Every time?I connect the device the [color="#339933">Zen V Series Media Explorer programe does not detect the device as connected. If?I change the settings to removable disc, [color="#339933">it is deteced by the PC but not the upload programe. If i right click on a file in [color="#339933">"my documents" and go to send to removable disc it does send, but doesn't come up on my MP3.<font face="Comic Sans MS" color="#000066"]?<font face="Comic Sans MS" color="#000066"]?<font face="Comic Sans MS" color="#000066"]Please help!!!!<font face="Comic Sans MS" color="#000066"]?<font face="Comic Sans MS" color="#000066"]thank you xx

I have the same problem. I didn't want to use the Creative s/w to synchronize so I connected it via a USB 2.0 port on a Dell 200FP monitor. XP (SP2) recognized it and prompted me to synch with WMP, MediaMonkey, or Take no action. I took no action. It recharged just fine. I downloaded the firmware update file from the Creative site. I ran the file and it didn't recognize the Zen. Many unplugs and re-plugs. XP always sees it (but not with a dri've letter), but Creative and MM don't. I can also see it in the Device Manager. Thinking there might be necessary drivers, I installed the Creative Media Explorer from the CD. No change. It doesn't recognize it either. I've tried a monitor USB port, a front USB port, and a back USB port. I set it to a 52M removeable disk. Windows now sees it as a dri've and the Creative Removable Dri've Manager sees it. And, of course, MM sees it now as a removeable dri've. But I want it to see it as an MP3 player. I'd also like to update its firmware, because I think MM requires the the Plays-for-Sure update. No replies to the other messages in 5 days? Does Creative read this forum? I'll try to call Support, but are they open on New Year's Eve? Sigh.Message Edited by skst on 2-3-200604:0 PM
