Pc does not recognize ipad

Hi,
none of my two computer recognizes my ipad1..I tried everything, but nothing worked. I will buy another USB cable, perhaps its just this..
Thank you for your advises and help!
regards
iyps

Dear Tom,
by writing everything I mean really EVERYTHING Apple suggested to do! Even the  dust thing has been done..the apple mobile device stuff, installation iTunes, update, common files etc...and more than twice..everything has ben tested. I am spending hours to find out, what it could be. ITunes recognizes my iPod, so does the PC with Windows7 on it. But the iPad stays invisible, even in the DFU mode..Yes, its been a while I last connected my iPad to my PC. Don't know if there is any relationship with this fact. I have 3 PC and all the three of them doesn't recognize the iPad. I activated the USB Hub, so it could be detected. Another testprogramm, USBDeview, doesn't recognize the connection iPad and USB Hub..But I sticked with this and couldn't find or fix anything and at the end "they" told me error code 10...
Don't know what to do..
thank you so much Dear Guys to answer so fast. I am wondering which Prince could kiss my iPad awake..
cheers,
yvonne

When I connect my iPad to the computer, iTunes does not recognize the iPad.  I have had the iPad for several months now and have not had the issue.  I checked the cable with the charger and that works fine.  Went through what Apple suggested to no avail.  Any ideas?

  • After upgrading to 7.1 iTunes does not recognize iPad device

I upgraded iPad to system 7.1.  I got a message to connect to my iMac and iTunes by my USB cable, which I did.
iTunes no longer recognizes the iPad wirelessly and does not recognize it even when attached byUSB cable.
My iPhone (4.2.1) is recognized by cable.
    Any suggestions?

Thank you, I tried uninstalling the device driver to reinstall again. After doing the scan for hardware changes, nothing flashes on the device manager. I dont see anything related to the IPAD or any other device for which driver shows unidentified device. It is as though the device is not being seen by the computer at all..
I even tried flashing the home/sleep buttons together but that doesnt seem to identify any device either.

  • Itunes does not recognize IPAD 3 after upgrading to IOS 6.

After updating my IPAD 3 to IOS 6, Itunes does not recognize my IPAD 3.  What can I do to fix this issue?

I have a similar problem with the iPhone. Tried everything you can think of and then some. There is apparently some devastating bug 7.6 introduced into normal USB device recognition. I've been able to force the phone into recovery mode; the boot recovery USB driver does still work. Restoring the phone every time I need to sync is both scary and time-consuming.

  • My PC does not recognize ipad mini as a drive

When I connect my ipad mini to my PC with the provided USB, my PC does not recognize my ipad mini as a hard drive.  Under devices on my PC the ipad mini is identified as "Apple Mobile Device".  The driver on my PC is "Apple mobile device USB driver".  It states that it is working properly and there are no updates for the driver.  How can I have my PC recognize the ipad mini as a hard drive?

You can't. It cannot be used as a disk drive. It is accessible through iTunes, only.

  • After downloading IOS 5.1.1 new iPad only shows connect to iTunes screen- computer does not recognize iPad now

Against my better judgement, I let iTunes update my ipad with the 5.1.1 IOS.  After the download was complete, the iPad showed the Connect to Itunes screen and the device wasn't showing in my iTunes so I unplugged the USB.  Now the iPad is stuck on the Connect to iTunes screen.  I have tried doing the system restore trick, and that looks like it works when the Apple logo shows up, but right after that it goes back to the Connect to iTunes screen.  I tried just plugging it back into my computer and connecting it to iTunes but now neither iTunes nor my computer recognizes the device.  The iPad will not go to any other screen and will not even power off, just stays on the Connect to iTunes screen.  I live 300+ miles from the nearest Apple store so going in is not really an option.  I would appreciate any help that would keep me from throwing this thing against the wall.

    Dear Diavonex,
I have a similar issue, I tried doing the restore, but now the computer is unable to recognize the ipad. Itunes does not detect the ipad. The ipad works but not able to sync with the computer.
Checking on the device manager of windows 7, it shows that there is an unknown device with no driver for it. How to get a driver for the same? Any suggestions?

  • PC does not recognize ipad; itunes does not recognize ipad

Using itunes 10.2.1, iOS 4.3.1.  Cannot get itunes to recognize ipad.  Have reinstalled itunes many times.  Have gone into DFU on ipad many times.  Have played with usbaapl many times.  Out of ideas to fix.  Ready to frisbee ipad into street below.

Hello I had a similar experience and searched and searched the forums until I came across this fix, I manually updated the apples drivers manually myself rather than letting windows find them, for me this worked. I tried everything in the book and I mean everything, as soon as I updated my itunes program to the newest version and tried to plug in my iphone my computer would not recognize my device nor would it show up in itunes, I don't know if this will help anyone else or if I have posted this in the right place but it worked for me, I did not have to disable any of my spyware or uninstall itunes just followed the instructions in the link below and pretso it worked, so far so good it is early days and I am yet to try my ipad 2 using this way so hopefully it will work I had the same problem with both devices on my computer after the new update...mine all came down to the drivers on my windows xp and the new update from itunes hope this helps someone else as well.

I also followed a very old thread (sorry I can not find this thread anymore) from a few years ago that helped ....THANK YOU TO THE PERSON WHO POSTED IT YEARS AGO IN SOME FORUM
I went to device manager and found my iphone in a heading under others generally it show up in the heading under usb controller if installed correctly (why it showed up here in the first place I have no idea, it was also showing iphone with a yellow question mark I then highlighted the iphone then clicked up the top of the screen to update drivers
Welcome to hardware wizard pops up I clicked no not this time then next
I choose to install from a specific location I then clicked on browse to find the file C:\ Program Files\Common Files\Apple\ Mobile Device Support Drivers then clicked next I waited 30 seconds before plugging my iphone back into my usb and presto  my phone showed up in itunes and on the computer by manually updating the drivers myself..Good Luck I really hope this helps someone else and if it does could we please pass the fix along as this drove me nuts for days....

  • 64 bit iTunes 11.0.1.12 on Windows 7 Ultimate does not recognize iPad. What to do?

After upgrade of iTunes to 11.0.1.12 (64bit) on Windows 7 Ultimate, iTunes claims it cannot connect
my iPad Mini. It recommends me to uninstall iTunes and upgrade to the 64bit version - which is the
one I installed in the first place. Reconnect, restart, reinstall does not help. I've checked for WinSock
conflicys and there are none indicated.
    Any clues anyone?
    Thanks/ShaunSheep

I've never had issues with iTunes and Windows 7 64bit on my desktop, laptop or my partner's laptop.
Since you've failed to mention what the issue is (e.g. what happens when trying to play "anything"), my initial reaction is the problem is merely user related.

  • Itunes does not recognize ipad 2

When my PC and ipad2 are cinnecting via wifi at the same router in my house, which allows up to 5 connection, itunes does not see ipad2.
    can you help?

You can only connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes via the provided cable - you cannot sync content wirelessly from iTunes. You can do home sharing to your iPad via wifi, but not syncing iTunes content.

  • IPAD 1 problems after ios 5.1.1 update, itunes does not recognize IPAD.. I check the device manager, it identifies an unknown device (My ipad) but unable to use it.

I am using the generation 1 IPAD.
I recently updated my ios from ios 4 to ios 5.1.1, I did the restore after the update and all seemed fine as it was detected the first time.
I tried connecting the IPAD again but it shows that the computer, itunes is not able to detect the IPAD.
I checked on the device manager, it identifies an unknown device (IPAD) and says no software for the driver. I am using windows 7 on my laptop. I never had any such problem with the iso 4. Any suggestions as to how this can be solved?
    Thanks,

There have been some problems accessing pages on the Apple web site.  If the hyperlink gives you a "We're sorry" message, try again.

  • 27 iMac does not recognize iPad

Just upgraded from a 24 iMac to the 27 (i7, 2.93). When I plug in my iPad it indicates "Not Charging" and is not listed in iTunes (which I have to start manually). 27 works ok with iPhone 4 and the iPad works ok on the 24. Is there a setting that I have to change?

The "Not Charging" indication is normal IF you're using the keyboard connector. The other condition is not normal. You might wish to try the recommendations on page 170:
