PC doesn't recognize nor charge my Zen Mi

I've 2 zen micro with he same problem.
i connect them to the USB and it doesn't charge the units. When I first connect one f them, it began charging, but a few minutes later the display turns on and freezes. After that anytime I connect the unit it freezes and the PC windows XP (SP) doesn't recognize the device. What can I do?
Very similar thing happened to the other unit....
The USB port works and I use it all the time with other devices as digital cameras.
Thank you

If you installed the v2 firmware you have to change the version of Zen Micro Media Explorer you are using. Go to the downloads page and get the version titled Creative Zen Micro Media Explorer Web Update. But, WMP0 *should* work so this might suggest you have other problems. Try ZMME first and see if this works.

  • My iPhone doesn't recognize my charging!

I connected my iPhone 4 to a speaker dock thingy and I rushed to take my phone out and later that day when I went to charge it, it didn't recognize the charger!! I have read related discussions but most of them seem like I have to go to the apple store to get it fixed. But one problem is is that whenever I connect my iPhone to the charger, I wait a few hours (mostly 2 hours) and it gains 4% still. It seems like it charges but it charges only little percent and my iPhone doesn't recognize it's charging!! PLEASE HELP ASAP

Whether anyone else has the problem or not is irrelevant. You have it. I'm sure that among the 900 million iOS devices sold there is at least one other one with the same problem. But how does knowing that help you?
What troubleshooting have you done so far? Have you tried a different cable? A different USB adapter? Is it an Apple adapter or an aftermarket adapter? Is it an Apple cable or an aftermarket cable? Are you trying to use the wall adapter or a computer? If you are using a computer try the wall adapter.
Have you tried cleaning the dock connector on the bottom of the phone? Remove any lint or dirt in it, and inspect it for damage or corrosion using a magnifying glass.

  • Phone doesn't recognize charger?

I have a Droid Incredible by HTC and after it turned a year old and the warranty expired it started not taking a charge.  I've looked at other posts, but my problem is slightly different.  When I plug my charger into my phone, the phone may or may not recognize it.  If the phone does recognize it, I'll leave it alone and let it sit plugged in with ABSOLUTELY no movement and all of a sudden it will tell me I need to plug the charger in.  If it doesn't recognize the charger I'll either wiggle it or plug and unplug the charger and eventually it will recognize it.  I don't believe it's the battery because if I am able to get the phone to recognize the charger it will charge fine, it seems to be the connection inside the phone.  Anyone have similar problems, and/or solutions?

You might try calling HTC an see if they can fix the issue or if they could send you a replacement D.inc. mine has'nt went over that Hurdle yet but with it being over a year old as well it's kind of raising those back Hairs   B33....I found my Colors Yeaaa!

  • My Ipod Touch Won't Charge Properly and My Laptop doesn't recognize it.

Everything was fine until this morning.
I was charging my iPod Touch while my daughter and I were playing with it. Since I have to do some errands, I removed the charger even though the battery was not yet full. I did played a bit, even took some photos. After an hour or so I decided to plug in the charger again. I was waiting for the BEEP sound it does whenever it charges, but it didn't make any beep sound nor the battery display didn't turned green. I tried plugging it on my laptop, and my laptop just gives me a message saying it doesn't recognize the device. So I went to borrow my mom's speaker (she have an iPhone and charges it using a speaker for iPhones/iPods since her own charger is broken), it still doesn't charge but when I play music on my pod, the speaker reads it. So I tried turning off then turning on my iPod, same thing happens, still not charging. So I asked my brother about it, he said I should try pressing the home button and power button for 10 secs til the Apple logo appears while charger is plugged. So I did, then VOILA... the much awaited BEEP sound and the green battery.. IT IS CHARGING!!!... so I left it for like two hours, expecting the battery would be full (waiting for the plug icon on the battery)... but all I got is like a 99% green. So I left it charging for 10 more minutes. Still the same after ten minutes, and gave it another ten minutes, still the same again. So I unplugged the charger and replug it again... I went back to NO BEEP, NO GREEN BATTERY CHARGING SIGN. I did the hold for ten seconds home and power button til the Apple logo appears, there goes again the beep and the green battery. I checked it again... it seems like I need to do the ten seconds home and power button press every time I plug in the charger.
Now I tried it on my laptop, same troubleshoot, but this time, it didn't give a beep sound nor a green battery sign. My laptop still doesn't recognize the device. I dunno what to do. Please help me. It's really frustrating me. I tried looking for answers online but only got the same troubleshooting I did.

  • PB G4 17" doesn't recognize it is plugged in or charge battery

My Powerbook G4 17" doesn't recognize it is plugged in (battery icon doesn't show "plugged in" icon) nor will it charge battery (down to 42%!).
I live far from an Apple dealer and know no one else who has a Powerbook so I can borrow their cord.
    I have:
    1. Bought new power cord
    2. Reset PRAM
    3. Plugged into various outlets and made sure connection is good
    4. Turned cord around in the port
If I reset PMU will that help? Will it erase all my files?
Any other ideas what would help?
    Thanx!

When you say you bought a new power cord, do you mean power adapter? If yes, you should have power from the wall outlet to the computer. You should be able to run your Powerbook without the battery. If that doesn't work, and you have a new power adapter, which you'd assume is good, the issue is likely inside the Powerbook. You could always take your Powerbook to a local Apple store or Apple Authorized Service Provider to use a known power adapter to confirm that is not the issue (on the off chance the one you got is for some reason bad).
If you look at where you plug in the power adapter on the Powerbook, does the jack inside seem to wiggle alot? A little movement is normal, however, if it seems very loose, then you may have a DC-in card problem. They are not horribly expensive to replace (card is around $100). If that's not it, then there is a logic board issue, and you're talking taking it to your Apple store and signing up for their 'fix everything for a flat rate' which is around $350, which is less than the price of the logic board itself, if you replaced it.

  • Computer doesn't recognize my Zen Mozaic

I have a new Zen Mozaic MP3 player (about 2 months old). I have been using Windows Media player to transfer music from my PC (XP OS) to the player without any problems until now.
Now my computer doesn't recognize the MP3 player as being connected to the USB port. I uninstalled the Creative software that came with the player and then reinstalled and it didn't fix the problem. Also I've tried connecting other flash dri'ves and the computer recognizes them.... Also, shutting down and restarting the PC didn't help either.
Is anybody having this same issue?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Don't know if this will help but if you are not using the usb port that came with your player the computer may charge but not? reconize the player. At least that is what is happening with mine.
same as to what i was thinking. if this is really the case, i always do stick with its original accessories like the usb port.

    Hello jlgougeon,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1591
Follow these steps to resolve your issue:
Ensure that your Mac meets the minimum system requirements for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Install software updates on your Mac.
Note: If an iTunes update is available, apply the update.http://apple.com/itunes/download
Check USB connections. iOS devices require USB 2.0 to function properly. If you're not sure your Mac has USB 2.0 ports, refer to the computer's specifications.
Disconnect other USB devices and connect your device directly to a USB port on your Mac.
    Restart your Mac.
    Best of luck,

  • My iPhone 3G charges with a charger, but not when connected via USB to my computer and iTunes doesn't recognize it.

Hello, my iPhone charges when I charge it with the wall plug but not when connected to a computer via USB and my iTunes doesn't recognize my iPhone either. iTunes recognizes my iPod and iPad just fine. I have been to Apple iPhone support page and I have restarted my iPhone, the computer, tried different USB ports, etc. I have also tried my iPhone on different macs even with different versions of iTunes and no luck. This all started when I was cleaning out some lint from the usb connector, could I have damaged some part of the docking connection? But why does it charge with a wall plug then?

I fixed the problem. When I was trying to clean the connector of the iPhone I must have bent some pins. I have straightened them to the best of my ability and now it syncs. If your iPhone charges, but doesn't sync, most likely you have a similar problem, because the iPhone doesn't need all of its pins to charge, but it does need all of them to sync.
