Hello,
You used a retail installation of Microsoft Windows 7, correct?  My initial thought is that it may be missing some sort of servicing bits or software that the PC Doctor software uses to recognize that it is being run on a Lenovo system.
What you might want to try doing is to reinstall the original hard disk drive, use it to build recovery media, replace the SSD and then use the recovery media to load the operating system onto the SSD.  After that, try running the PC Doctor software and allowing it to perform an update.

  • My ipod (2nd generation I think) is not working

my ipod, which is about 2 years old, never has any battery no matter how many times I charge it, I dont think its its the battery because I just stopped working one day, it wasnt a gradual process. I displays a low battery sign everytime i try to turn it on, and then switches off. The computer dosnt recognise it aswell. Does anyone have any suggestions to how I may fix my ipod and get it functioning again.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Mp3 player possibly bro

I bought my Zen V plus in January of this year. Its worked perfectly untill now. The battery ran low and depleted eventually and now it will not charge at all. It wont turn on and the computer dosnt recognise it when it is attached. Ive charged it now for about a good 3 hours but nothing has changed. What is wrong? Is it a problem with the internal battery?

Sometimes when the units get too depleted they can take quite a long time to charge.
One "trick" you can try is while plugged into your computer hit the reset button on the device while holding down the play button. In the past people have reported success in jumpstarting their device that way.

  • Can Apple Id fingerprints be set up to recognise different family members, but only allow one to purchase from the app store?

Wondering if using the Apple ID finger print on the ipad, is there a way to set it up so that parents can set their fingers to be the only ones able to purchase from app store and itunes, but still able to recognise the kids fingerprints to turn on the ipad and play with apps?

Not currently a function of iOS. However, you could set a restriction on purchases
using a separate passcode in Restrictions. No one could make a purchase without
that passcode. But you cannot tie the Restrictions to a single fingerprint or subset
of fingerprints. Any fingerprint that is registered to open the iPad gives full access to
all non-restriced apps/functions on the iPad.

    itunes 7.2 loads automatically
ipod has usual 'do not..' message

    drive dissapears from 'my computer'
nothing updates and itunes diagnostics say connection has failed. all usb hubs reported in diagnostics are ok.
    I have tried:
    1. resetting ipod
    2. windows /manage/settings/ipod checks
    3. system restore
    4. driver removal of ipod
    5. firmware update removal in itunes directory
    6. ipod lead instead of cradle and other USB ports
    6. everything else suggested on the help and support centre
the ipod works fine and I can see/hear all music and video on it and the itunes library matches the ipod
device manager sees the USB device as (0)ipod and says it is working fine

Thanks! But I actually figured it out! Right after I said something about the driver, I went into device mangager. Sure enough even though it did not show up as a drive letter the device manager said is was installed and working.
So I deleted the device out of device manager. Restarted and plugged it in. Although I go some weird error. It found the IPOD and now Itunes sees it.
I believe that killing the process would have done the same thing as you stated.
Thanks to all for taking the time to answer these issues. It beats the apple store or tech support.

  • ITunes 10.6.3.25 doesn't recognise CDs

    Hi,
My iTunes always worked perfectly fine until the other day when it stopped recognising my music CDs. When running Diagnostics it says there are no issues and recognises the CD drive but it won't show the CD on the left hand side, under Devices. This means that I cannot import my music normally.
I have not installed any new programs but I noticed that Roxio had started popping up (I didn't even know I had it installed on my machine and had never used it before) so I uninstalled it. The problem still persists.
The odd thing is, if I reboot my PC, iTunes will recognise the first CD I put in but will not show any subsequent CD I insert in the drive.
Any idea of what could be causing the problem and how to fix it? I am running Windows 7, btw. Many thanks!

    Hey thanks for replying.
    Here's what I did:
First I tried the Winsock reset in the Command prompt. Nothing changed.
Next, I tried the instructions on http://http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4123. The only other program that came up on the 'Winsock Providers' tab on the program was 2 Windows Live applications, which I can do without. So I deleted all Windows Live Applications.
I did the Winsock reset in the Command Prompt again and rebooted my comp.
Unfortunately, nothing has changed. iTunes keeps freezing at various stages of the sync, then shows the candy cane-striped bar with either the words 'Finishing sync' or 'Cancelling sync', before showing the Apple logo.
Sometimes, iTunes gets to the syncing stage - "Copying # of ####" - where it will trudge through the first, second and third tracks before flashing "Copying 4 of ####" for a split second and I catch "Cancelling sync" briefly before the Apple logo appears.
Again, I've repeated the steps I mentioned in my previous post. Does ANYONE know when the new version of iTunes is set to be released?! This one is driving me INSANE, to say the least!!

  • Windows Vista - iTunes not recognising iPod!

iTunes is not recognising my iPod and the iPod Setup Assistant isn't showing automatically. Can anyone help. I have a new laptop with Window Vista is this operating system the problem? Can help would be appreciated. I can import music into iTunes OK and purchase music from iTunes itself I just can't get iTunes to recognise my iPod!

    > Step 3:Download and install the latest chipset drivers from the laptop manufacturers website.
    >*So here I am with the issue still not resolved. How do i Download and install the latest chipset drivers >in order to have Toshiba Satellite L300 & Microsoft Vista recognise my ipod?
Install an hardware diagnostic tool like Everest home Edit or similar.
This tool would provide all hardware details about your notebook.
It would list all devices and chipset name too.
I think its Intel chipset so you could find the driver on the Intel page

  • IPod 1st Gen Not Recognised or Connecting to anything.

    The story so far...
I have a 1st Generation iPod Shuffle 512Mb which was bought 2 years ago in an Apple store in Japan. It has been treated well over the years and is used once or twice a week. There have been no issues with it until my current issue this week.
I decided to give my iPod to a relative and over the weekend plugged in the iPod to the PC (Windows XP - Latest Version) that was to receive the player. The shuffle was recognised and I was challenged by iTunes (Latest Version) that the player was associated with another installation of iTunes. Did I want to transfer to this version of iTunes or did I want to ignore the iPod. I chose to transfer and this is where things came off the rails! The iTunes application closed down in an uncontrolled manner and after a reboot of the machine was in capable of recognising the shuffle.
I have followed the 5 R's to the letter.
I have tried to restore from iTunes on Windows XP
I have tried to restore from iTunes on Mac OS
I have downloaded and run the Reset Utilities provided on the Apple website.
I have reset from Windows XP (on two different machines)
I have reset from Windows XP (having uninstalled iTunes)
I have reset from Mac OS 10.4.9 - iBook G4
I have reset from Mac OS 10.4.9 - Powerbook G4
The utilities see the shuffle and recognise that it is in Restore mode. However the reset fails with a Error Retrieving Information from your iPod message.
I have read the discussion threads where the advice is to format the iPod however in my case the although I get a mapped drive with a letter (e.g. E:) when I try to access it I get a pop up window asking me to insert a disk..
I am currently reseting from Windows 2K on a machine that has never had iTunes installed onto it. It has recognised the device.. and is attempting to install the drivers... but I have a sneaking suspicion that it has stalled midway through-- I decided to let the install process keep running while I'm at work just to make sure that it just isn't taking it's own time.
    Has anyone---
    1. Got the same issue?
    2. Got any resolutions that don't involve going to the Apple store and buying a new one?
(Sorry for the length of the posting but I have done quite a lot of stuff and I need to give you the whole picture).

There is no conflict either. On one of the machines there were no other installed devices.. and on all other machines the interaction with USB seems fine on both Mac and Windows platforms.
I have even followed the instructions to re-register the iTunes .dll files with the apple provided bat file. All to no avail.
What is interesting is that the device is not identified during the restore process with the name that appears on the apple website but instead it is identified as a recovery device player class device.
I tried the remapping of the driver letter. Bascially the change of letter works fine but there is no storage associated with the letter. So the device is mounted but there is no capacity.

  • Ipod not recognised by Windows, USB device not recognised

    Hi hope someone can help
I have recently received my ipod back from Applecare who have sent the ipod back in ' working order ' but it will no longer be recognised by my windows. It says USB device not recognised and i cant find, nor will it install drivers that i located on the ipod updater etc.
I have tried several methods on this forum but none seem to work.
The letter from mycare says the iPod is formatted for a computer operating Mac OS X. Although i stated wi use Windows. But the leter states this can be changed bu installing the updater, but this wont make a diff as comp still wont regonise the device after i have followed there instructions. Any advice?
    Thanks

I'm not really up on the complexities of the Windows OS but try this tip I picked up a while back, hopefully it might help.
"USB Device not Recognized in Windows".
    1. On the Start menu, click Control Panel.
    2. Double-click the System icon.
    3. Click the Hardware tab.
    4. Click Device Manager.
    5. Scroll down the list of devices to the Universal Serial Bus controllers
    6. Click the plus icon next to the Universal Serial Bus controllers.
    7. Double-click one of the indented USB Root Hub entries.
    8. Click the Power Management tab.
    9. Deselect the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option.
    10. Click the OK button at the bottom of the window.
    11. Restart the computer.

  • Why is my Ipod Touch no longer recognised by my computer. I have Vista

Why is my Ipod touch no longer recognised by my computer? please.

    See:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    I would start with
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar.  Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears.

  • My iPhone 3Gs is now no longer a recognised device on iTunes after I downloaded the new iTunes with iCloud software, but it does recognise my iPad2??

My iPhone 3Gs is now no longer a recognised device on iTunes after I downloaded the new iTunes with iCloud software, but it does recognise my iPad2??
I run both Mac and a PC and have iTunes on both, which has previously recognised my iPhone. I had updated my Mac with the new iTunes software with iCloud and updated my iPad2 just yesterday. I then wanted to do the same with my iPhone today, but my Mac wouldn't recognise the device so I tried it on my PC, which recognised the phone but told me I needed to update my iTunes and this in turn wanted to update my iPhone software. After completing all this and restarting, my iPhone now shows the iTunes icon with the USB plug pointing towards it, obviously wanting me to plug it in to my computer to re-connect with iTunes, but now neither of my computers recognise my iPhone and my PC states an 'Unknown Device'. My Mac doesn't even see it. Can anyone help as I really need to get my phone working?? Thanks

Hold down the Home and Power button for 20 seconds. And try to update again.

  • Ipod not recognised on either of 2 computers

My ipod is not recognised by windows or itunes.
Tried it on my friend's computer, and again not recognised by windows or itunes.
ipod plays ok, so I assume there's a problem with the USB port on the ipod itself.
Not found any useful help on the support site.
I don't imagine this can be repaired - any ideas?

Success! I reset my ipod (menu + center) and restarted my laptop, and now my ipod connects again.
    Have you tried that?
THANK YOU! I have spent 4 hours doing everything the website said, including unistalling all of Itunes versions, going into Hardware Update, going into My Computer and "managing" it, emptying my TEMP folder, and finally I had the massive brainstorm to go into the discussion board, and reseting the iPod did it! You are a savior!
BTW, to the poster who asked if the new version did it. Absolutely. I downloaded it last night and everything gave up the ghost immediately after.
