I recently updated my Mac OS, and am getting error 150:30, "Licensing for this product has stopped working" on all my CS4 products. The license repair tool will not launch in Mavericks. Help?

CS4 is completely unsupported under Mavericks and using an upgraded
operating system is nothing short of a crapshoot.

Can't start my old Photoshop CS4. Error:150:30 Licensing for this product has stopped working

I can't use my PS CS4 because it seems the licensing has stopped working. I restarted the Mac few times but this error seems to persist.

It's an extremely common error with CS4. It means the licensing is broken. For people not really familiar with Terminal, my best answer is to suggest a fresh install from your discs to fix this. You will have to reapply all updates.
Since the Help > Update part is not working well, download and install your updates (Photoshop, Bridge, Adobe Camera Raw) from here Product updates.
Usually this happens when Photoshop is moved from another computer, from a backup like Time Machine, or even as OSX upgrade to Yosemite.

Hard drive on Mac Book was changed to a SSD,
reinstall from time machine backup and this is the message I get when I try to run Illustrator. Any ideas?

Error message opening PS CS3 Extended : "Licensing for this product has stopped working"

I used Migration Assistant to transfer data from my (very) old Mac OS X to a new iMac OS X Yosemite. Before doing so, I uninstalled my (also very old) PS CS3 Extended. When I tried to open PS on the new Mac it asked me to download Java, which I did. But now when trying to open PS again the error message is "Licensing for this product has stopped working". I purchased it about 5 years ago in a box which I no longer have, but I do have the complete 24 digit serial number. How best do I remedy this?

It's a common error. The best fix is to reinstall Photoshop CS4 from the discs.
If you do not have your discs, download the installer from here and have your serial number ready.

If you can not use CS4 menu Help>Activate|Deactivate to get the install working again you may need to re-install CS4.

A Photoshop installation is tied to the machine it was installed on. Moving it to or from a hard drive breaks the licensing.
The answer is easy: Reinstall CS4 from your disc. and apply all updates.

I received error 148.3 (licensing for this product has stopped working). I looked up the error, but the fix says it is only for "... Creative Suite 3 or 4 products, Acrobat 8 or 9, Photoshop Elements 6, 7 or 8, Director, and Technical Communication Suite." and RoboHelp is not mentioned. Is RoboHelp part of the Technical Communication Suite? I tried phoning support, but the person had not even heard of RoboHelp. Does anyone know how I rebuild the license file? Note that Acrobat professional comes up okay. I need to compile soon for a product release and feel so frustrated.

And we're back. Writing the question made me check what the Technical Communication Suite is. It includes RoboHelp, so I went ahead with the LicenseRecover as recommended on the Adobe site and the system now works.

You haven't said what version of PSE you are using but the general solution to this problem is to re-install the product from your original disks. Have you got the disks for your product and the related serial number?

It says to restart the computer or open another application in the suite, but neither helps. It says if nothing helps to contact Adobe support, but this is the only way I'm given to contact adobe support. Can I really not use my purchased software on my new computer? What do I do to activate the license on the new computer?

Yesterday I purchased a new MBPro 15" Retina display. I retrieved all my files from TimeCapsule and I have a separate login when working with these files. On this login, photoshop, illustrator and indesign from CS4 appear on the dock. But when I go to launch, I get this window: LICENSING FOR THIS PRODUCT HAS STOPPED WORKING. Error: 150:30. I figure I need to enter in my serial code but I don't know how to proceed. My CS4 from 2009 is an upgrade from my original 2004. So my questions are:
1. Can I enter in my serial number somehow to activate the software, or do I need to reinstall?
2. If I need a reinstall, do I have to start with the 04 version?

As you guessed yourself, you need to reinstall properly. Installing whatever older product you are referring to is not required, only installing CS4 and then inputting the serial numbers. the bad news however is, that CS4 itself may not be compatible with OSX 10.8.2/.3, so expect all sorts of problems...
