Hello,
I just burned a disk with Hiren's disk utilities and while the programs which are dos boot up fine, I lose all keyboard access.. prob because DOS doesn't recognize USB keyboards.. is there a way to get keyboard access while under Hiren's disk utilities?

Hi Wiebe.

I read that the Displayport/ USB to HDMI adapter works well with Apple but has anyone tested within Windows environment under Bootcamp? Are there drivers that support the adapter already?

Usually, A *[USB to HDMI Adapter|http://www.espow.com/wholesale-usb-multi-display-adapter-for-computer-a dd-on-a-second-monitor.html]* can work in MacBook/Windows OS.. You just need to download the usb display adapter driver.. • Macbook pro keyboard not functioning with bootcamp drivers

i was able to use all the apple keyboard functionality under window xp bootcamp. Bt after i install some other third party keyboard mapper, "did not like it" so uninstall it but then realise my original apple keyboard drivers funtionality is gone.
According to apple info page, it says
1)put in the OS X tiger install disk CD 1
    2) click on setup.exe
    3)Select repair drivers etc.....
BUt when i put in the CD above , there is no setup.exe to run? i did a seach & the system did not find it either? Pls advise, is the above instruction correct? i think i just need to either repair or reinstall or reactive just the apple bootcamp keyboard drivers only. i do not want to reinstall all the apple drivers as my graphc card drivers are loaded with laptopvideo2go latest driver which i like it so much in terms of gaming performance.

We are mainly users, so we don't know if Apple knows or not.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

I have no problems connecting under OS X but not under Vista (bootcamp). I checked all the settings in my Belkin router and can't find anything that would cause this. I even tried turning off the security settings, disabling wep/wpa; and even added the mac addresses to the mac control.
However, I was able to connect to the neighbor's unsecured wifi.

I think you need to read this:

this package, and the dependency, is in the AUR. The package is not hosted on the repositories and hence not installable with pacman -S
what you typically do is you download a tarball from the AUR and then:
    tar -zxvf appname.tar.gz
    cd appname
    makepkg
    sudo pacman -U appname-pkg.tar.gz

  • Mouse and keyboard freeze under Win 7 Pro Bootcamp on 10.9.1

    People,
This is an interesting (if frustrating) issue. I have previously had Windows 7 Pro running wonderfully under ML 10.8.x and I removed the partition when I had no further use for it. Last night I decided to re-install. I am using the wired Apple keyboard and a wired USB Microsoft mouse. I used Bootcamp Assistant as before to create a USB installation while downloading the latest Bootcamp software from Apple.
Windows 7 Pro installs fine, and then reboots. The first time I get to the low resolution Windows desktop everything is also OK. I then install the Bootcamp drivers, allow the installation to complete and reboot.
At this point Windows boots to desktop in appropriate iMac resolution...except the keyboard and mouse do not function. It may well be a USB port issue, as swapping another keyboard and mouse a) doesn't help or b) make the distinctive 'USB device connected' sound.
I may download an older version of the bootcamp drivers and try again.
    Anyone have any thoughts?
    Regards,
    Steve
PS: I'm using the followig hardware
    27" iMac - 3.4Ghz i7 - Late 2012
    32GB RAM
    1TB Fusion
    2GB GTX 680MX

I was able to dowload the support software and paste it over the old support software in the USB Winstall that Bootcamp created before, however the same issue is persisting after I get to the screen to set up windows. I get no response from the mouse and the keyboard. Any suggestions?
I'm using a iMac 27in (2013), a wired apple keyboard, and a Logitech wireless mouse.

  • Keyboard layount under bootcamp for windows 7

I don't seem to be able to find a layout map of the Windows 7 keyboard for a MacBook pro running under Bootcamp. I would like to know how to print a window and print the screen but would appreciate finding all of the key mapping so I can be more effective in using Windows 7.

  • External Bluetooth keyboard compatability

I am new to using the iPod touch. I'm using an iPod touch 4th Generation. I have an external bluetooth keyboeard from a preveious hand-held computer. The brand name of the computer and the external keyboard it used is "PalmOne". The version, and Bluetooth information from my iPod touch is as follows:
    Version: 4.2.1 (8C148)
Is the version above my OS?
    Bluetooth: 5C:59:48:8A:33:1C
When I open up my foldable bluetooth keyboard and turn on the bluetooth feature on my iPod touch, the screen shows that Bluetooth is on. Under the main Bluetooth heading there is a subheading that reads; "Devices". Under that, there is a white area with the word; "Searching..." with a small grey circle spinning next to it. Under that, in small pritn the words "Now discoverable" are shown.
The keyboard has a button taht looks like a Microsoft Windows logo could this be why it isn't being detected? There are also other keys on there such as a Fn (function), Home which shows a house logo, a key that has a logo of a menu, and many other strange looking symbols on some of the keys. Do you think this will be compatable to the ipod touch if I try syncing the software for the keyboard to the ipod touch?

Thanks for the info. Although my question wasn't answered here I'm stillmarking it as answered because you gave some helpful information. However, I spoke with an Apple iPod sales person who has an iPod touch & uses external Bluetooth keyboards and she told me that mine would not be compatible.
    Thanks anyway.

  • On screen Keyboard stuck under menu bar

On one of my GB songs when I select window> Keyboard, to get the onscreen keyboard to show, half of it is running off the top of my screen under the menu bar. I cannot click and drag it down so I can use it. It allows me to stretch it to the right but I cant click on a part of it that allows me to move it/re-position it on screen. The position it is in now will not allow me to use it.
    Help Please.
    Paul

Hey thanks a lot! It was very nice of you. I have noticed that you help a lot of people with GB in these forums. Every time I search these forums I see your name helping out someone. You should be commended:)
Back to the topic at hand, After reading your post I tried something and it worked. What was happening is when I recorded or worked on something on my 17" MacBook Pro and then brought it over to my G5 with regular (non widescreen format) dual displays it was forcing the keyboard off the screen. So I tried opening the file on the MBP and moved the keyboard way down to the bottom, saved, moved the file to the G5, and when I opened it the keyboard was in the middle. Problem solved.
You learn something new everyday. And I am sure this will happen to someone else and hopefully they will search these forums and find this post for a solution.
    Thanks Again,
    Paul

  • Can I use my Apple Keyboard in a non-bootcamp Windows 7 OS?

    Hello,
I am building myself a secondary gaming PC to complement my Mac Pro (which I will continue to work on) but would like to 'reuse' my Apple Keyboard that I like so much.
From running Windows 7 in bootcamp on my current Mac Pro I know that the keyboard works really well in Windows 7 but since this new PC is a 'genuine' windows pc without any of Apples hardware or bootcamp software I was wondering if I could still somehow use it?
Also in case you can use it, is it possible to get the keyboard drivers perhaps without all the other stuff the bootcamp installer brings with it?
    Thanks,
    Jannis

  • Keyboard Layout Problem in Bootcamp Using Windows 7

Both OSX, bootcamp and Windows 7 are the latest versions and all up to date and I have had this problem ever since I first started using Windows 7. Everything has worked smoothly and without problems except for my keyboard. No matter what program I am in when using windows 7 certian keys do not work as intended. All of the letters and numbers work as intended but things like the question mark key type this like É instead.
    Question mark =É
    Greater than symbol= '
    Less than symbol = "
    The bracket keys = ¨Çç
    backslash = à
    forward slash = É
    Quotation mark = È
My question would be is this something that always happens in bootcamp Windows 7 that just needs to be changed or is it out of the ordinary for the characters to be bound to keys incorrrectly like this.

You prob do not have the drivers installed. Takes a separate disc sometimes. There is a box to check during the partitioning and installation which has to do with downloading the latest drivers. You gotta do that to make much of anything work. If nothing else, go to an Apple reseller in your area or Apple Store if you are so lucky, and get some help. Is not the easiest thing to get all that set up correctly, but it does work well if you got the drivers installed. I have an aviation site which is not yet Mac compatible, so also do the Bootcamp thing with Windows, in order to do my thing on Jeppesen. Hang in there and get some help if you need.

  • ACD as main display under Windows/BootCamp while in clamshell possible?

Is there any way to run a BootCamp Windows XP Pro installation on an MBP using the ACD as main display while in clamshell mode? Currently the system refuses to wake up after I close the lid. I use a BT mouse/KB, but even with a USB mouse connected it wouldn't wake up. It seems like it would be possible, but I'm not sure how to go about it.

Correct, there was no Gather Windows button.
I do have multiple adapters, but one is an Apple adapter which is, apparently, "passive" whilst the other is active. The passive adapter never works at all under MacOS X, but I haven't tried it under Windows. The "active" adapter works under Windows, but only shows the apple bootup logo under MacOS X, and then turns the display off.
I don't think that the mini displayport is faulty, because the second display plugged into it works perfectly through BootCamp.
I'll try thoroughly testing out all adapters tonight, and then try a different brand of display. I've seen a lot of posts about ViewSonics being flakey under MacOS X, so it's possible it could be on the display driver side of things. Maybe ViewSonic does something screwy signal-wise in their displays, and Windows is willing to deal with it but MacOS X isn't.
Oddly enough, the ViewSonic display I have was shipped with a single-link DVI cable, and it's always worked without a problem, even when plugged into the dual-link DVI port on the Mac Pro. So I don't believe that the display *itself* requires a complete dual-link connection to the computer.
I have much appreciation for all the help and suggestions. Thanks again.

  • Erratic pointer:  right clicking in VISTA under Leopard Bootcamp

Hi! This is my first post, so please be gentle! I have searched the forums and, although I can find many similar threads, I haven't been able to locate an identical one to this. Or, more importantly, a solution.
I have the 2.16ghz, Black MacBook which came with Tiger installed. I had been using VISTA under Bootcamp Beta for some months with no problems. I recently ungraded to Leopard (keeping all my original settings etc), upgraded the Bootcamp drivers and everything was still working fine.
Since upgrading to Leopard I had felt that the Mac OS was a little slower in certain areas. Nothing severe, just mainly the time to display the contents of a folder could take a couple of extra seconds. A few days ago, I thought I would start afresh and would do a fresh install of both Leopard (erasing and installing) and VISTA. Leopard now runs perfectly. Very smooth and noticably faster.
VISTA installed with no apparent problems and I used the Leopard disc to install drivers. After they were installed and the machine restarted, VISTA gave me a problem retort saying certain drivers were not installed (iSight, null issues etc...etc...), although they definitely had been. I noticed this problem report is mentioned in the Apple trobleshooting questions but in says it may occur before installing the drivers and installation will resolve the pronlem. However, I didn't get the report till after installing the drivers. Anyway, that in itself is not the most obvious problem (as things do seem to be working, mainly).
My main issue is... When I right-click in certain ares (2 fingers on trackpad and click on button), the pointer "jumps". Sometimes vertically, sometimes horizontally. However it only happens when rightclicking on an item which is part of a list or number of options. For example, if I open the GAMES folder in the start menu and try to right-click on Solitaire, the pointer will jump making it impossible to make a selection. The same problem will occur when selecting from a list of items in a folder. I can right click on the desktop with no problems.
VISTA worked perfectly under Bootcamp BETA and under Bootcamp 2.0 before erase and install. I have tried to install an old trackpad driver from Bootcamp BETA that I found on another forum but when I try to install it, I am met with "...you already have the up to date driver" and it will go no further.
    Can anyone help?

Do you know how to remove a driver (may need to do a Safe Boot for some), reboot, and install the driver you want.
Sometimes, maybe during testing? maybe the presence of the older driver first, and then update.
Meaning that having the older drivers from 1.3 etc, then apply the 2.0 Apple drivers, works best. Remove, install, see how that goes, and maybe then apply 2.0 drivers if you want (I'd wait and see how it goes).
Also, you might want to look into cloning and backing up Vista. I can say that Acronis TrueImage looked good, but eventually learned hard way they don't yet support Mac (EFI/GPL parttitions). So I use Norton Ghost 12. WinClone is working on an update for Leopard.
Might want to send feedback to Apple about BootCamp which is always useful and helpful.
    Just a guess/hunch.
