PC no longer recognises my iPad as a device
Since updating latest software, my PC no longer recognises my IPad . I get error message on my PC stating that my device has malfunctioned & I should replace my device ! Unable to sync. Any idea what I can try next ?

I found my old iPod shuffle (3rd gen) and thought I would sync my iTunes library onto it, iTunes wouldn't recognise it at first so following forums on here I managed to find some apple software to reset and update the shuffle! This worked and the iPod shuffle was then recognised by iTunes but now my laptop no longer recognises my ipad! Very frustrating!

I am assuming you are running Windows:
Plug in your iPad to the PC.
Now go to "Start" - "devices and printers"
Is your iPad showing there ? (you may have to scroll down)
If you can see it - right click the iPad icon and select "Troubleshoot"
If the USB driver is missing/incorrect it will tell you.

Put latest Itunes system on my computer (Windows XP latest upgrade before windows stopped supporting) two times now but itunes no longer recognises my ipad or ipod. Will recognise one Ipod touch but nothing else. Any ideas?
Thanks for the suggestion. The Ipad 2 is, so is the ipad 1 (can only go to OS5 as you know) The Ipod touch is but the ipod nano I cannot check as the system will not recognise it to use itunes to check the latest update. The computer is recognising the units in the Explorer area, it is just Itunes will not.

TS1538 iTunes (since update to 10) no longer recognises any of my Apple devices.
I've followed all the troubleshooting and reached the point where I've discovered the AMD USB Driver is not located in "USB Controllers" but when I open "Imaging Devices" it's listed there, not showing Apple iPhone as a device anywhere. What should I do? Thanks for any help out there.
I had the same issue and searched for about 6 hrs for a fix. I have Windows XP. Almost gave up and then I found and tried this and it worked for my new Iphone 5 I picked up yesterday! Hope it works for you as well:
1. Right click on "My Computer" and select "Manage"
2. In the left pane select "Device Manager"
3. In the right window, expand "Imaging Devices" or similar imaging category
4. You should see "Apple Camera" or something similar.
5. Right click on the "Apple Camera" and select "Update Driver"
6. Select second option "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)", click next
7. Check the box labeled "Include this location in the search"
8. Copy and paste this path into the folder line - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
9. Click "Next"
Windows should now locate the necessary USBAAPL driver to run the Iphone or device and enable it's detection in Itunes -
My ipad has upgraded to IO6, but is now no longer recognised on my mac (10.5.8) or my itunes (10.6.1). What can I do? Can I revert ipad back?
You can't downgrade the iOS on the iPad.
Quit iTunes, reboot the Mac and reboot the iPad and then try again.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -
after syncing i was asked to update software to %.01. Now itunes no longer recognises ipad and screen on ipad only shows cable...otherwis dead..

They are recognised by my laptop, so the cable is working (and have tried all 3 USB ports as well) but neither are coming up on iTunes. Currently have an IPad 2, running ios 6.1.3, looking to update to ios 7.03, but I need to delete 2g of photos. Reading posts, I need to do this via the internal storage, but when I connect ipad to any of our 3 pcs, whilst it is recognised by itunes, it is not listed as a removable device, so am unable to locate device nor its storage. Our iphones and ipods all connect and are recognised, why not ipad?? HELP!

My IPAD1 is no longer recognised by Itunes on my Mac deskop. I have follewed the steps recommended by Apple Support aand sometimes after shutting everything down & restarting Itunes briefly recognises my ipad before freezing. This started after updating some Apps, and the next sync advised me that there had been issues syncing Apps. Then this problem started.
How an I reconnect my IPAD so Itunes recognisese it?. THere is no problem syncing my Iphone4s- Look at the dock connector on the iPad. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and cracked or broken plastic.

After installing the latest IOS upgrade last weekend, I am no longer able to get i tunes to recognise my Ipad 2.
The upgrade crashed my i pad (Plugged in, next to router) and i had to plug in to i tunes to restore.

I would start with
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears.
