PC not seeing my airport extreme network
I have an AEBS up and running with my macbook wirelessly connected and have been trying to add my IBM PC notebook wirelessly to this existing network unsuccessfully, as the PC cannot see the network.
The PC is used by me for work and connects on the road to all sorts of networks with no problem. It also sees many other wireless networks at my home but not the AEBS network.
I dont have a closed network and even with searching the forum, dont seem to have any possible solution - bizarre !

Applications > Utilities > Airport Admin Utility
Scan and Select your Airport
On the Airport Tab
It will tell you which channel you are on.
as it was not an issue for the
macbook that is connecting wirelessly to the AEBS ?
Your router can use channels 1-13, however your PC may be restricted to channels 1-11 as some manufactures configure their PCs for the US market standard and not necessarily the local market. Your MacBook can access channels 12 and 13.

I have set up my apple aiport extreme after moving and I can see the airport extreme light is green and I can see the airport extreme network name, but when I select the network, the device cannot connect to it. No error message appears, the device simply is in a constant state of trying to connect to the network.
I can easily connect to the non Airport Extreme network.
Can anyone help?Try factory resetting, it often helps when changing location.

I purchased yesterday an airport extreme, everything works fine, but the thing is that when I close my laptop (just shutting down the screen) and then reopen it, instead of conecting to the airport extreme network I created, it connects to my DSL connection. Is this normal? Do I have to keep entering my own airport extreme network after I close/shut down my computer? Thank you very much

My xbox 360 will not see my AirPort Extreme basestation wirelessly.
I just bought a new AirPort Extreme from my local Apple store last night. All devices work great (iPad, iPhone, MacBook Air, Win7 Laptop) all exept my Xbox 360. My Xbox will not even see the AirPort base station via the older white Xbox wireless adapter. I am at a loss here because I thought the SSID was broadcasting since my other devices found it no problem. Anyone else have or solved this issue?
Microsoft offered two versions of the "white" USB Wi-Fi adapter for the original XBox 360; one for 802.11b/g and the other included 802.11n. Both only support the 2.4 GHz radio band. Which do you have?
By default, your new 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn) provides support on both the 2.4 & 5 GHz radio bands and for all of the current radio modes (802.11) ... so, by theory, the XBox should be able to find and connect to its wireless network. However, I have noted that original XBox did have some issues connecting with these default settings.
You can change the default radio mode setting to a number of other choices. Note that you will need to hold down the Option key (for the Mac) before making a redio mode selection from the AirPort Utility to "see" the additional options. I would suggest the following to see if the XBox can connect: 802.11n only (5 GHz) - 802.11b/g.
If that radio mode still doesn't solve the connection problem, try temporarily disabling wireless security on the AEBSn. Please post back your results. -
My iPhone 4s will not recognize my Airport Extreme network
I just purchased the AirPort Extreme. I have come home and set it up. My iPads connect quickly and easily... but my iPhone 3 and 4s do not even see the network? They did and then it went away? Why?

If it connects to 3G, it's connected to the phone network. 3G carries both voice and data. Your phone can't show BOTH 3G and No Service at the same time. -
Why can't my AirPort Express (A1084) see my AirPort Extreme network?
I've done lots of searching and it seems that the answer is that it simply can't, but that doesn't make sense to me and I just want to make sure before I completely give up. Specifically, what I'm trying to do is get my old AirPort Express to join the network I have set up with my new AirPort Extreme (A1521) and then pass the signal via ethernet cable to my Xbox. When I try to set up the old Express in AirPort Utility (v5.6) and it asks me to choose a network to join, it doesn't see any (not even neighbors' linksys, etc). Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting that I need to change in the way my Extreme is set up? I was hoping that since, according to Apple literature, the Extreme is compatible with 802.11a/b/g/n devices, that the old Express would see it and just run off the G signal and this would work, no?

The A1084 (and A1088) versions of the AirPort Express do NOT have this type of capability.
You need a feature called ProxySTA which was added to the A1264 Express, when Apple introduced the product in 2008.
The current A1392 version also incorporates this feature.

Windows Vista not working on Airport Extreme network
We had an old airport, and the windows vista computer could connect just fine, no problems. We recently got an Airport Extreme to add networked printing, and now the Windows Vista computer cannot connect. Anyone know why or how to fix this?

dell m1710 laptop Other OS Windows Vista Operating SystemI am having the same problem. All my Mac's connect just fine as does my XP Machine. I dual installed Vista Home Prem and it won't connect as well. Going to MS to see what the issue is. I am connected through a switch to the Extream to the Boardband router.

I am using Mac OSX 10.7.5. and when I double click on Airport utility it says No configured Airport base station has been found, even though I am using it to currently connect wirelessly. I simply want to create a password when accessing as it is open at the moment. All updates have been done. When I open network preferences it recognises that I am connected via wifi but I am just now able to create a new wifi name or password in Utilities. I have downloaded Airport utility 56 and installed which is meant to fix this but still no joy..
Can anyone assist ?

Airport utility v6 doesn't see old airport extreme 1st ten
Using new version 6 Airport Utility, does not see older Airport Extreme (1st gen) that is on my network. It sees my newer AP extreme and shows the ID for old machine yet I can't get to it to change configuration.
You will need to download and install AirPort Utility 5.6 for Mac OS X Lion to be able to access and make changes to any of the older AirPort products. AirPort Utility 6.0 only works with newer "n" devices.
You can use the more functional AirPort Utility 5.6 to configure all of your AirPorts...old or new.
Just keep both versions on your Mac and use the one that you want. -
I have an Apple Power Mac G5 Dual 2.3 GHz/6GB RAM/500GB HDD/Superdrive PowerPC Desktop and just bought an Airport Extreme card for it. The card is recognized but will not see the in-house network. This is a pre-intel computer. Do I need an additional antennae? If so, which one because my research is confusing me about what is supposed to work with this computer.

How to connect old aiport express to my new Airport Extreme?
I have a PC running with Win7 and just replaced my Jensen With a brand New Airport Extreme.
I have set up the Airport Extreme to the internet, Iphones and Ipads and it work as it should.
I have downloaded latest Version of Airport tool on my PC. In addition i have downloaded the airport tool for Ipad.
I have reset one of my airport Express and it now shows up both on the Ipad and on the PC airport tool.
My Ipad says "base station e5713b cannot be configured."
I have wired the airport Express to my Ethernet to be able to "see it" on my Airport tool.
My AirPort tool on the PC will not permit me to add the airport Express to my new Airport Extreme network (no network names on the drop-down list to choose from). I wished for an easy set-up, but nothing seems to be plug and play as the Commercial says.. can you please help me?

Yep - I in fact have two A1088 and one A1264
I actually bought the new router because the Jensen
router always lost connection to the Airport Express after some hours or days. I
always needed to restart my Jensen to play music and that was driving my wife
mad. The hope was that the Extreme should fix this. Both A1088 have been set up
to only stream music to two of my stereo amplifiers from my PC’s Itunes library.
Are the A1088 now useless?
The A1264 has been set up to feed internet into a Denon Reciever that needed Ethernet cable.

My Printer (samsung clx-3185fw) says it connects to my network but I can't seem to print wirelessly. I could with my netgear but not with my airport extreme, any ideas?

Can not see my airport on the list of WiFi networks and is blinking orange all the time. Tried to reset several times.
Do you have a Mac or idevice for setting up the Express? It does require a later utility than is available for windows.
You might be able to setup with the v5 utility in windows but there is no guarantee.
You should use a simple name both for the base and the wireless. eg AEXgen2 base name and AEXwifi for wireless name.. that is if you get access. -

We have an old titanium PowerBook that will easily connect to any WiFi cafe or hotel network, but will not connect to our AirPort Extreme network. What gives.
When the Apple Tec. installed our network for our 3 iMAXs, he couldn't it to connect either. Of course our two iPads have no trouble connecting.
We are also having trouble getting it to upgrade from OS 10.5.8 to 10.6, even though I have a Snow Leopard up date family pack.What is your Wireless Security setting on the network? Since you are running Leopard, I may not have the desired answer, but some of the Airport-equipped laptops, like the TiBooks, are said not to support all of the settings. I have an AE network which supports b and g, with "WPA2 Personal" settings and the TiBooks connect with that one OK with 811.b Airport.
Oh, and no way to upgrade beyond 10.5.8 Leopard for PPC machines like the Titanium G4 Powerbooks, as 10.6 and above require Intel processors.
EDIT: I didn't notice this, but the TiBooks may be connecting with WPA encryption on my network, as I have the following display on my settings:
