Pc reinstalled. Is it possible to use Iphone to syncronise to Itunes?

I had to have mij laptop reinstalled. Therefore mij Itunes is now empty. The Iphone of course not. Is it possible to copy al app from to phone to the laptop? So actually the syncronise the other way around.....

The sync process for iTunes content is a one way transfer process only - from your iTunes library on your computer to your iPhone. After purchasing/downloading iTunes content with your iPhone - music, video, or a 3rd party app, the content will be transferred to your iTunes library on your computer with the first sync with iTunes after doing so.
You didn't include your iTunes library with your computer's backup along with all other important data on your computer's hard drive before re-installing Windows?
If not, iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod or iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
First you need to re-authorize your computer with your iTunes account with iTunes if you haven't already done so. With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
If a 3rd party app does not transfer, you can re-download the app with iTunes on your computer and you won't be charged again for a purchased app as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the app that was used to purchase the app originally.

It´s possible to use the "Remote" app with Itunes and a Nokia E72 with Joikuspot installed only? Or I´ll need to buy a modem Wifi?
I was using "remote" with a D-link modem, that works fine at my iPad. But now I´m using only the cell phone as modem 3G, and don´t want to intall a router to put new cables at my notebook.

    What?
You want to control iTunes on your computer using the Remote app on your iPad?
And you want to connect the iPad and computer through your Nokia?
    No, this will not work.
Just create a network with your notebook.

  • HT1386 Is it possible to use the songs in my itunes library as a ringtone on my iphone 4? if so, how would i do that?

I have been trying to figure out if I can use the songs in my itunes library as ringtones but am having no luck. I downloaded an app that is supposed to make it possible but can't get that to work either. Does anyone know how to do this? Would appreciate any input. Thanks.

It is possible to create a ringtone with a designated 30 seconds or less section of a chosen song as long as the song or music was not purchased from the iTunes Store - or with music purchased from the iTunes Store that does not include DRM protection.

  • Possible to use iPhone without i-applications?

My sister and her partner have just purchased new iPhones but only have a G4 that does not meet Leopard specifications.  I know with non-Apple supported devices such as mp3 players I can have been able to plug them in and have them appear as flash storage media and manually copy files. As long as I make sure they go the right places they work.  Is it possible to circumvent the need for new iTunes, iPhoto, etc. and get files onto an iPhone without all the "synching" business?  Personally I'm advocating my girlfriend away from getting an iPhone because of the stringent system requirements for supporting hardware, but these phones ar alrady purchased.
I know they could try e-mailing files and transfer them that way, but that's a bit cumbersome if you're trying to copy 1000 mp3s.

Did a bit of research and the answer is yes and no.  Actually "yes", as I suspected you can do some things without iTunes.  A web search of "put files on iphone without iTunes" gets the usual 8 million hits, but there are some such as http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/6-ways-to-sync-music-to-your-iphone-without-itunes/  The "no" is that most methods require Windows, or are not easy (not an issue for me but for the owners of the phones it would be).
I think I have come up with the answer on my own which is it is possible but not feasible.

  • Possible solution for "iPhone not recognized by iTunes" issue (Vista/7)

This solution is intended for those Vista/Windows 7 users:
    - whose iPhone will not show up as a device in iTunes (usually after upgrading to iTunes 10);
    - whose iPhone is successfully connected to the PC (appears as a device in Windows Explorer);
    - particularly those experiencing the issue where fully uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes will allow it to recognize the iPhone once -- and once only -- but disconnecting the iPhone will cause iTunes to ignore it again (until the next full uninstall/reinstall).
I know there are plenty of people who fit those criteria, as I've been monitoring the forums for a fix for this for weeks.
    The solution's pretty straight forward:
    1. Disconnect all iPhone/iPod devices and close iTunes
    2. Open Windows Explorer
    3. Navigate to the folder: *C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\iTunes*
    4. Delete the file: iPodDevices.xml +(I recommend you copy it to the Desktop first, for peace of mind)+
    5. Reconnect your iPhone to the PC and fire up iTunes
Fingers crossed, your iPhone should now show up as a device in iTunes after a short pause.
The XML file is recreated each time the iPhone is connected to the PC, so you will need to repeat the file deletion each time you want to sync your phone. So this isn't a permanent fix -- that's up to Apple to fix their buggy application -- only a workaround, but it's a **** sight faster than uninstalling every piece of iTunes-related software each time. (You could even set up a batch file to delete iPodDevices.xml automatically and save the folder navigation.)
Windows XP users: unfortunately, the ProgramData folder only exists in Windows Vista/7. I don't have a copy of XP to hand to locate it myself, but it's a good bet that the same iPodDevices.xml file exists somewhere on your PC (most likely somewhere under Program Files or Local Settings) and is the culprit if you're experiencing the same problems under XP.
So far, deleting that file before connecting my phone hasn't failed to work for me (iPhone 3GS, iOS4.1, iTunes 10.0.1.22). YMMV, but go ahead and reply if it works for you too -- it'll help me get a more detailed and coherent bug report to Apple.

I should also mention: this solution should not be a first step in troubleshooting.
If you haven't already, try the following steps first -- they're more basic and/or more likely to provide a permanent fix for you:
    1) Try a different USB port. (One on the PC itself; not on a USB hub.)
    2) Try a different USB cable.
    3) Reboot the PC. (Sure you've already tried this, but still...)
    4) Fully uninstall & reinstall iTunes and related software: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
    5) Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567
    6) Reinstall/update the Apple Mobile Device Driver: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538
Reinstalling iTunes fully (4) works for many people so be sure to try that, following the sequence on the instruction page. If you're seeing the issue where reinstallation will allow you a one-time sync before iTunes screws up again, I'm pretty confident that following the solution in the first post will work for you.
PS: Mac users... sorry, I know some of you are seeing the same issue but I don't have the first clue about how iTunes is structured on a Mac. Best case, iPodDevices.xml exists somewhere on your Mac and you can try the same fix... good luck!

  • How to use iphone 3gs to transfer itunes library to mac

I bought a macbook pro and i am trying to transfer my itunes library from a HP dv7 using my iphone 3gs. itunes version 10.2. the instructions that I am using are for ipod. cant find instructions for using iphone. thanks

Using an external drive is one option. What did you use to backup the important data on your Windows PC?
Maintaining a backup is important regardless the platform but even more important with Windoze due to constant virus, adware, and spyware concerns.
An Apple store can help you with this along with helping you with backup options for your Mac.

  • Possible to use iPhone as external webcam with Sky...

I've got a mac running OSX 10.9.5, and an iPhone 5s running 8.1.2. Are there any iOS apps that allow you to (successfully) use your iphone as a webcam for Skype for Mac?
I say "successfully" because I've tried a number of suggested ones, and they don't work:
EpocCam by Kinoni - Skype won't recognize it as a video source
WebCamera by SHAPE GmbH/Mobiola WebCamera (same thing) - Skype won't recognize it as a video source
PocketCam by Senstic - Skype actually DOES recognize it as a video source, but there is a multi-second time lag in the video, so it's worse than having no video.
I even tried installing Skype 2.8 on my Mac (recommended in some posts on this forum), but was unable to get it to connect to the Skype network.
Anyone had any luck with any iOS apps?

Everything I had read so far says it's not possible.
What you have read is correct.
    Anyone have any insight?
The iPhone simply does not have the Bluetooth profiles required to allow this.

  • Possible to use iPhone headset mic on 2006 Intel Mac Pro?

Does anyone know if it's possible to get the iPhone headset working on a 2006 Intel Mac Pro? Or, are there any adapters that would allow the headset to work? I'd like to use Skype on this machine, but I don't want to have to have a clunky full-on headset for it.
    Thanks,

    No.
    Look for USB headsets.

  • Is it possible to use iPhone as a hard disk?

I want to know if there is a way to transfer files to the iPhone, such .ppt and such and use part of the memory as a usb stick or hard disk to carry information? In that case, how can I make it appear in the finder of my computer?
    Thanks.

Check the App Store for applications like AirSharing, Files, and DataCase.
Note that due to limitations in the SDK, all such applications use WiFi to transfer from PC to iPhone (some may use cellular data to connect to cloud storage, but none can use USB to connect directly to your PC).

  • Possible to use iPhone on GSM and CDMA networks?

If I have a SIM for one of the iphones that supports versions of both CDMA and GSM, could I actually switch between, say, Verizon in the US and foreign networks wihile overseas?

The only phones you can use on Verizon's network are ones that were originally sold as "Verizon" phones. This is true of, as far as I know, all CDMA carriers. Verizon will unlock the GSM side of an iPhone 4S for international use for their own customers. Other CDMA carriers have other policies. The Verizon iPhone 5 and later are unlocked and will work on any GSM network.
An unlocked phone purchased from the Apple Store will not work on a CDMA carrier.

  • Using iphone 3GS to transfer itunes library from old computer to new comp.

I am following all instructions provided at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329 but when I attempt to drag the itunes library into my iphone (which is listed under my computer) I am not able to. I have double checked and my itunes is set to "manually manage music". Is there another way to set my iphone so that it will accept the library folder? (I have already freed up enough space on my iphone to put my entire library).

I was actually in the apple store about 3 hours ago and the guy there confirmed that it is possible to do.
Possible, yes... but that doesn't mean it is the ideal way of doing it.
    vanessabowker wrote:
The iphone is capable of being used as a disc to move your library.
Sorry, no the iPhone is not capable of being used as a disk, it does not support disk mode.
You can sync all of your media to the iPhone, then using 3rd party software extract the media from your iPhone to the new computer. That will work, but it realistically does not make sense.
Either use a USB external drive to move your iTunes library or set up both computers on your network and transfer the iTunes library via the network.
Why do you want to make this more complicated and involved than it has to be?

  • Use iPhone 4 to play iTunes library from an external hard drive without computer

    Hello all-
I use iTunes for playback of my music library.  My library is too large to be stored locally on my MBP so I use an external hard drive.  I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to use / setup an iPhone 4 to be able to read the iTunes library files and access the music stored on the external hard disc for playback WITHOUT the use of my MBP or any other computer.  I may be asking too much but essentially it is just code that is written into iTunes that allows this to happen, between computer and external hard drive as well as iPod and it's hard disk.  Of course I would need to be able to connect my iPhone to the external hard drive.  I figure the dock to usb cable would suffice.
    Any help is appreciated!

thanks for the quick reply!  I was hoping to not only access the individual files, but use an actual user interface that could read the iTunes library files that I already have created via iTunes on my MBP, and provide me with an iTunes like playback experience, similar to how the Remote app works or the iPod app.  Thanks though, I might use NetPortal for other applications though.
