PC's No longer Being Automatically Detected

I have an issue that is driving me crazy.
I have my new MacBook connected via a router to three PCs. These PCs use to automatically show up in the Finder under SHARED as soon as I powered up my Mac.
A couple of days ago I pressed the eject button next to each PC (out of curiosity). Now they never automatically reappear. I did this at the same time I installed Jungle Disk, so I don't know if this has anything to do with this.
I can reconnect to them via Connect to Server (by typing in smb://<computer name>, but when I reboot they disappear. Also, when I look at the icon in the Finder they show the server icon rather than the blue screen of death PC icon. I also can no longer see the printers connected to the PC's in Printer Preferences in System Preferences.
Whereas before when I use to turn off a PC, the PC would automatically disappear from the Finder, now I get a message saying that the Server connection has been interrupted, and ask me to Disconnect.
My PC's can see the Mac automatically.
I am completely stumped as to how to fix this.

I noticed that too. Was just getting ready to configure and order another PC. Hope this is not discontinued. I've had really good luck ordering from them in the past.

Podcasts are no longer being automatically updated after hibernation mode

Heeello to you all!
I noticed that after going to hibernation mode (the motherboards suspend to disk functionality) the schedule for my podcast updates is messed up. For example now is Feb 22nd 2007, 21.14 and my iTunes says that it wants to search for new episodes on August 13th 2006, 23:57. This means that the podcasts are not being updated automatically after hibernation. How to reproduce this bug in iTunes:
1.) Start iTunes
2.) Set up: Search for new episodes hourly in Podcasts settings.
3.) Close the settings window.
4.) Leave iTunes running.
5.) Go to hibernation mode (This mode may need to be activated in the system settings: System Settings -> Engergy Options) by klicking Start -> Turn off Computer -> holding shift while clicking on Standby ("Standby" changes to "Hibernate")
6.) Turn the computer back on and have a look in the iTunes settings: In my case you find senseless time and date for the next podcast-update.
Is anyone able to reproduce this error?
And is Apple please able to fix this if this is truly a bug?

External time machine drive no longer being automatically recognized

Recently my RMBP has stopped recognizing my external time machine drive. When ever I connect my 1 TB WD drive to my mac, it shows up on my desktop as usually but will not get recognized by time machine. I used to be able to connect the drive, have it show up on my desk with the orange USB logo, and then it would be auto recognized and the time machine logo would appear on it and it would start backing up. Now, I connect it and it just stays at the orange USB logo. I have to go to the time machine menu bar icon and open time machine's preferences and manually select the drive to get it to back up. This happens both on battery power and while I'm charging. I have already verified the disk in disk utility and have repaired as well. I don't recall when this started happening. I was running the 10.9.4 beta before its public release, but it hadn't been working before I upgraded to that either.

This simple procedure will clear your Time Machine settings, including exclusions. The backups won't be affected. If you have a long exclusion list that can't be recreated easily, you may prefer a more complicated procedure that preserves the exclusion list. In that case, ask for instructions. Otherwise, do as follows.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)

This is the line that caught my attention: "I discovered, after several experiments, that if you publish a course in Captivate as SCALABLE with a video inserted, no matter what the resolution, it makes the video look pixelated."
When I unclick the "scalable HTML content" button before publishing, the video is fine!
Big sigh of relief! Now I just need to figure out why audio won't play on one of the slides (it has an accordian widget, if that's relevant) and why I can no longer use Effects (I get the message, "Effect file is not valid")

ITunes no longer starting automatically with iPhone

I have an iPhone 4S. Running iTunes 11.0.4.4 on Windows 7.
iTunes used to start automatically when I plugged in my phone as it was set to do.
have not changed the settings, and that box is still checked but now iTunes no longer starts automatically.
When I manually start iTunes, it detects my phone as normal.
When I first plug in the phone, the PC detects it and gives me the Windows dialog box asking what I want to do with the device.
I've unchecked the box, saved that, and rechecked with no changes.

IE, Disable 'Automatically Detect Settings' Via GPO

Hi guys,
We have recently been having a small problem with IE, whereby the 'automatically detect settings' check box will get ticked - resulting in our users not being able to traverse our proxy server.
I use the User Configuration > Policies > Windows Settings > IE Maintenance > Connection to set up our proxy settings, however I can't see an option to explicitly disable the 'automatically detect settings' check box.
Is this located somewhere else in an admin template, or am I simply missing an option that is right in front of me?

Once you SUB-CLIP after using Start/Stop Detect, you can treat the sub clips as though they are individual video elements. However, they are not.
If you want individual files and are working in DV, you have two options.
1. log each clip individually then batch capture within FCP
2. use a utility like Live Capture Plus (when capturing) or CatDV (after capture) to cut the longer capture file into individual clip files. Both LCP and CatDV are from Squarebox software.

Sites work using manual proxy but not with automatic detect

I asked this in the ISA forum but they said since the WPAD file isn't generated by ISA to cross-post over here.
We have an ISA 2006 build 5.0.5712 operating as our web proxy. We have WPAD configured both in DNS and in DHCP to point to this ISA server. There are two sites (rentsentinel.com and epmsonline.com) which when we use the 'Automatically detect settings' option
in IE8, it either gives red X's in part of the homepage (rentsentinel), or doesn't show the page at all (epms). If we manually specify the proxy settings for this same server, it works fine. It would also appear that one can browse fine on random sites, but
once we attempt to browse to one of these two sites, that further browsing to other sites no longer works, even those we visited in the same browsing session.
If I manually specify the http://wpad/wpad.dat file in the config field, no change in behavior. But if I use that same entry in Firefox, both websites render fine. Our wpad.dat is included below, with our internal domain
name switched to domain.com.
I'm looking for help on getting these sites working correctly with automatic detection. Thanks!

Automatically Detect Monitors on AMD

I have an AMD Radion and I am using the open source drivers. I would like my computer to automatically detect external monitors. I know I can achieve this by creating a script that continuously checks for external monitors but I've also read some bits about the AMD driver being capable of doing this on its own?
How would I achieve this behaviour without a script?

It gives me "target not found: xorg-server<1.15.0" when building "catalyst-utils" from the AUR. Trying the test version now.
EDIT:
The test fails building as well, with the following dependency error: "lib32-ati-dri: requires ati-dri". I actually manually installed the latter so that error doesn't make much sense to me.

If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.
