PC shuts down whilst synching my new iphone 5s

hi there, just purchased an iPhone 5s, trying to sync but keeps PC keeps shutting down mid way through sync with no warning, please help! thank you

Generally the freezing up and/or shutting down of a Windows PC when doing a sync is connected to iTunes. Please see this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove iTunes from the device and reinstall it. Then try your sync. This will not affect your library, or any backup you have of your phone. It will just take care of the iTunes program.

No. Not if you didn't have them backed up somewhere.

  • When synching my IPhone 3Gs I now get a sign "Attempting to copy to Disk failed. The required disk cannot be found." This is after synching a new Iphone 4s.. Help!!

When attempting to synch my IPhone 3Gs I now get a sign "Attempting to copy to Disk failed. The required disk cannot be found."
This is after synching a new Iphone 4s and having received some help from Apple Support who assisted with some setting
changes. Unfortunately this was over a protracted period of time and I cannot recall what was changed. Apparently my 3Gs is out of
its warranty and so they cannot help me unless I pay £25....
    Can anyone help??

Sorry, unless she backup up the new phone before or is using iCloud to save the photos, the photos are gone.

  • HT1386 I cannot synch my new iPhone 5 with iTunes

I cannot synch my new iPhone 5 with iTunes. I have iOS 6.0.2 and on my MacBook Pro Mac OS 10.7.5. Strange enough my iPhone 4 with iOS 6.0.2 I can synch without any problem. Once the iPhone 5 is identified in iTunes (it takes some time) a disk is rotating as 1st step of synchronisation and after around 5 min it stops rotating but nothing has synched.

I also tried this. But it is still not synching. Only the small disk is rotating. No other error message.
I suspect there might be something with the phone not in order. Do you know if and where I can delete a synch history on the phone or in iTunes?

  • Icloud site keeps shutting down when writing a new email

Why does my icloud site continue to shut down while typing a new email?

    Hi mtclark007,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The first thing to check is the System Status at the iCloud Support web site (see link below).   It's possible the Mail servers may have been experiencing an issue during the time you were typing your email.  The links below will provide some additional iCloud troubleshooting information:

  • Macbook Pro random shut down whilst using battery

My Macbook Pro randomly shuts down whilst using battery power even though their is plenty of charge in the battery.
    Any ideas??

does it do it when plugged in?
Also it sounds that there's a power failure and causing it to shutdown, I would get it serviced asap, the battery connector might be faulty.

  • Why does ipod screen flicker and shut down?Possibly need new battery?

Ipod screen flickers, but music still plays. Then it will shuy down. I ahve restored it , but still does this. My 9 year old lives on this ipod, he is going through withdrawal now!  Possibly new battery? Thanks

Might as well be a hardware defect, especially if you can still listen to music after the screen shuts down.
To make sure it is not the software, set it up as new device, without using the latest backup afterwards.

  • Powerbook randomly shuts down whilst asleep

    Hi there,
I know there are a million topics on here about such faults but none of them were incredibly similar to similar to mine, so I've started a new one!!
My problem is, just outside of Apple's 14 day no quibble return period my powerbook randomly turns off whilst asleep. There are no patterns to this, nor is it related to any system settings or anything. Sometimes I return back to my powerbook after 5 mins and it will be powered off completley, sometimes it can be upto 2 days. There really is no common factor in each occurance.
My machine is a 15" G4 Powerbook 80GB HDD 512MB RAM and DL SuperDrive. Software update told me to do the battery firmware updater but I did this the day I got the machine, so I have no idea whether it did this before.
I did buy it off the refurb store, so maybe this was the original fault for which it was returned in the first place. But my G5 is also a refurb unit and thats absolutely fine, so I have no issues with refurbed items!
I was just wondering if anyone had a similar problem, or knew what the fault was. I think I'm going to take it to a repair centre and let them have a look at it, as its under warranty and all.
Anyway, be great to hear from anyone who is in the same boat as me!!
    Cheers
    Powerbook G4 1.67 15" 80GB 512MB DL   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Looking through the forum quite a few people have the same problem with the same machine, 1,67Ghz, no accident, i feel, maybe a design fault or a faulty batch.
I have exactly the same model and exactly the same problem.
Drives me nuts.1 out of 23 times and the computer shuts down completely after I closed the lid.
I got my model already replaced for a new one and have exactly the same problem with the replacement.
It is being examined at the moment at a service centre.
Problem is that the fault only occures every now and then over a period from a day to a week.
Please let me know if anyone has solved this

  • HT204053 I started using iCloud on all my Apple products before MobileMe shut down, setting up a new ID and password to do that.  When MobileMe moved to iCloud, it became my primary account for iCloud and is interfering with everything I had done before.

I started using iCloud on all my Apple products, using a new password and ID, before MobileMe shut down.  Apparently I shouldn't have done that, because when MobileMe moved to iCloud, it automatically became my primary account and took over everything I had previously set up on my iCloud account.  I would like to eliminate the MobileMe account, but I can't find a way to do it.  Anyone have any experience with this?  It's making me very frustrated with iCloud.

The primary account is the one signed into in System Preferences>iCloud (or on an iPhone Settings>iCloud). If it isn't the account you want to use, simply sign out and the sign back in with the required account. On signing out your data will be removed from your Mac but not from the iCloud server.
If you want to you can sign in with the other account in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts & Calendars - you can sync that account's email, contacts and calendars and they will appear alongside the equivalent data in the primary account.
The main differences are that the secondary account's email will not be 'pushed' but will be checked periodically, and the secondary account cannot use PhotoStream.
