PC SHUTS OFF QUICK TO LOGON WINDOW AFTER NO ACTIVITY

When I'm online , lets say reading an article, and after maybe 2 minutes goes by, with no activity, the pc goes right to the logon page. I then have to click on my picture, and it takes me back to my article (online). How can I stop this from occurring all the time. It started doing this after a few days ago when I ahd to do a recovery.

Open windows Control Panel. open Personalize, click the Screen Saver link in the bottom right and in the following window, remove the tick from the box next to 'On resume, display log-on screen'. Click Apply and then Ok to save the change.

Thank you, but that is not it, and I am talking about the iCloud photo streams. I know how to modify who can see or post to a shared stream, that's extremely easy.
What is an issue is the new 'social' style activity that summarizes all of the shared streams. It now posts/summarizes them in an activity thread in 'streams', called "Activity"
I would like to shut that off or be able to clear that view. While I enjoy the occasionally funny pics I receive from old college friends in shared streams, I don't want that to show up in a 'cover photo' when I go to pull up pics in front of someone.

MBP shut off by itself, cannot connect after re-start

Hi All,
I'm writing because I know some wonderful person out there, will help this badgered father get his daughter back on line. Earlier this afternoon, my daughters MBP13 shut off all by itself (battery was fully charged). She was not able to get it restarted for 20 minutes. Finally upon re-start, all of the normal settings were missing. Such as the date and the time. It was re-set to 2008. Since then, she has not been able to get on to our home wireless network. The others (1 iMac and 1 MBP) are all fine. I did not have an appointment, but I went to the local Genius Bar. They were too busy to help me, but allowed me to start the MBP and checked it quickly on the stores' network. It found the network and signed on fine, so I know it's not a hardware related issue. I've gone through all of the diagnostics and help screens and cannot get it back on line. I've also re-started my Verizon FIOS router three times, but all without any luck. Can anyone help me get this back on line and peace back into my home?

Try this: Shut down your computer, take out the battery and power cord and pres the power button for about 10 seconds. After that, reseat the battery (and power cord if necessary) and turn on the computer whilst holding down Command-Option-P-R. Wait until you hear the startup chime AT LEAST once after the initial chime. What you just did is a reset of SMC and pram.
After that calibrate the battery by fully charging it, use the computer on power supply for at least 2 hours. Then unplug it and use it off battery power until it completely runs down. Let it stand for at least 5 hours and plug it back in.

Itunes shuts off new MACbook pro (2011) after 15 min

I have a new 2011 Macbook pro (May 2011). I have set all time-outs (screen saver, economy modes) to "never" in the account preferences and the computer ought not to shut off ever (unless the battery is empty).
This has helped none: when playing itunes radio on the battery (I have not checked whether this also happens with the power line connected), the computer shuts down the user account and I need to log back into my account and restart itunes etc. This complete shut down occurs about every 15 minutes. Every 15 minutes (unless I am active on the computer, of course). Every 15 minutes or so.
[I have found a similar complaint for MACbook pros from 2007 3rd generation here, but this is 2011 ...]
In the office I have a MAC PRO workstation and it plays the same station after I return from class, or if I do not shut itunes down overnight it still plays the next day, each time with the screen having gone to sleeep etc and with me having to log back into the computer.
Any advice? similar problems?

I've noticed similar behavior - specifically with the new 2011 MacBook Pro 13 and 17" models (tested) on Cisco infrastructure - using a 1252 and 3500i/e series APs running in dual-band mode, with 5GHz preferred. I've seen the transfer rates when in close proximity to the AP move between 72mbit and 243 - occasionally 300. My 2010 system in the same position is a solid, dependable 300.
They did modify the wireless chipset in the new 2011 MacBook Pros to replace it with a true 3x3 802.11n device. Cisco have long praised the Broadcom chipsets so I will see if their wireless team can advise me on what this new gear is capable of.
I currently look after a very large deployment of wireless LAN equipment so my wireless performance is absolutely critical to my work - the 2010 system was a godsend and a testament to how wireless devices should be built. It looks to me like this could be a software issue so I only hope Apple resolves this ASAP. I'll hang on to my 2010 system for now...

HD Shuts off - While working on windows

Hello guys I'm having a strange problem with my PC, everything works perfectly, but for the last couple months sometimes my main HD (a velociraptor) completely shuts off, windows then freezes and I have to restart. And the most interesting thing is that if I leave the machine to start again it wont find the drive, I have to turn if off and then back on, one time I had to remove the cable and attach it again. I've tried a couple cables and nothing changed.
This drive always worked on my old system no problems, its only now with the new one. Any ideas?

Too much Time until logon window after applying Security Configuration Wizard on DC

The scenario is the following:
Domain Controller on Windows 2012 R2
DHCP installed on Domain Controller
Clients: Win7, Win8
Servers: Win2008/R2, Win2012 R2
After applying a SCW template on a DC, the logon window takes too much time to appear (after reboot, lock or sign out).
The seetings in the template are the following:
Select Server Roles: All of the default options selected by SCW
Select Client Features: All of the default options selected by SCW
Select Administration and Other Options: All of the default options selected by SCW
Select Additional Services: All of the default options selected by SCW
Handling Unspecified Services: Do not change the startup mode of the service
Network Security Roles: All of the default options selected by SCW
Require SMB Security Features: 2 checkboxes marked
Require LDAP Signing: the checkbox marked
Outbound Authentication Methods: Domain Accounts
Outbound Authentication using Domain Accounts: 2 checkboxes marked
Inbound Authentication Methods: none of the checkboxes marked
System Audit Policy: Audit successful activities
The question is:
What options(s) include/exclude from SCW template that avoid too much time logon windows takes to appear?

Based on my research, SCW helps administrators to ensure that only those services, application capabilities, and ports required for the roles to function are available; anything not specifically needed by the roles the server holds will be disabled. These
tasks above all consume time to implement, which causes the delay for the Windows logon screen to display.
Therefore, as the way I see it, it is a normal behavior, and I didn’t find any option which could avoid/reduce time spent on applying settings within the SCW template.

Notebook shut off wont turn back on after battery tapped

I purchased 3 notebooks all are doing the same thing. If you set the down on any surface they shut off. One of them will not turn back on. I have switched batteries and charging cords. I don't see it as a recall but it's strange that all 3 are doing the exact same thing. Power cord when plugged in has a white light but no screen will turn on. Tried 2 different batteries and 2 power cords. I have tried just plugging in no battery only power cord and holding down power button, no change.I bought these last November 2014, I never had this problem will my Dell comouters. Anyone have any suggestions?? Very frustrated! These computers are barely used and don't leave the house, they are not abused.

My iPhone shut off about an hour ago after using it all day and it was fine... i thoguht the battery died but its been plugged in for 20 minutes and still doesnt turn on.... any body ever have this problem? What else do i need to do? Thanks!

Funny thing happens at the logon window after waking up

Hello,
After my MacBook (Mountain Lion installed to latest update) wakes up, the logon screen is dark and as I move the mouse over it, it reveals the various icons and user names. Thsi happens every time after the computer sleeps. I attach a screenshot for your review.
This does not happen when the computer is powered on "from scratch" (i.e., after it was completely shut down), just upon waking up.
Also, this has happened for a while, even before the upgrade to Mountain Lion.
Any ideas what I can do?

If Leopard came pre-installed and this is a new machne, then the disks that came in the box should let you archive install preserving users & network settings. The disks have a grey label, and if you get more than one use disk #1 for this procedure.
Hold down the "option" (also known as "alt" on the new keyboards) key when starting up with disk #1 in the optical drive. Select the install disk icon on the grey screen and click the arrow. Then when you get to the "select destination pane, click the options button after selecting your hard drive as the destination. In options A& I preserving should be checked by default, if not, select them. Click "ok" to dismiss the options pane, then run the installation.
If this does not work for you, call apple support. They want everything to work. Be patient, they are real busy these days.

either my 4s, or wifes 5 ....iPhones both drop bluetooth connection to SUV hand free system after about 15 mins during a conversation ? we do not loose phone connection just bluetooh link to car. I checked Kia system nothing or no settings for this are known .....
Also my 4s music now does not play over the speekers ??? the ringer works and alarm all go off thru the speekes just not the music. It still works when connect to blue tooh or wi-fi as well as headphones just not thru the phone speekers

IPhone 4 Shuts Off repeatedly and battery drains after ios7 update

This morning at 5:20 am, my alarm went off on my iphone like normal, I plugged my 100% battery charged iphone out of its charger and within 30 seconds it turned off. I quickly plugged it back in the charger and it dropped to 41%. Then as I had to start my morning and get to work and take the phone again out of its charger, it died again. So I got to work, and I have put my phone to "charge" while plugged to the charger, but as time passes, instead of charging my battery it looses life, then I recieved a notification to update my phone, which I did however this did not help my phone, it still continues to turn off once I plug the phone out of the charger.

Same here. My ipad mini used to last weeks, now I can barely get a full day out of it, after I finally updated to ios7. And yes I disabled every possible battery drainer I could find and rebooted. This is clearly to me a bug for the mini, possibly their code that drains batteries on older devices to force people to buy new hardware is running faster than it used to when it would only kill your battery twice as fast, perhaps something else I would hope, but I'm about to hack my device and return to ios 6 as this is absurd. I can put my ipad down for a few hours and pick it up with a 5% drain or overnight with a 70% drain.

The lock button does not turn OFF the iPhone. It will give you a screen with the option to turn OFF the iPhone. Possibly the battery is faulty. Make Genius reservation and take iPhone to Apple store for free battery diagnostic testing and evaluation.

Is there a way to keep the Nano from auto shutting off?

This is probably a weird question because it doesn't really involve a problem per se. I am a drummer in a band. I am using my iPod 1 GB Nano to play an intro during our live shows and also play segways between songs because it is more reliable than a laptop. Basically each of my sound clips are in their own playlist so that once the clip ends it stops and doesn't go to the next song and I'm not trying stop it while I'm also playing the drums. But within a minute or so of finishing the sound clip the Nano shuts off. When I turn it back on it causes a small popping sound in the PA (which is undesireable). I'm wondering if there is a way to keep the iPOD from shutting off automatically. I haven't been able to find any settings that allow me to prevent it from auto shut off. Any suggestions? And just to clarify, it is not shutting off while playing the sound clip, but usually a minute or so after. So It's not like it is malfunctioning. But there must be some way to keep it from shutting off automatically.
