Pc starts then just shuts down

i built my system everything plugged in right i used the spacers and mounted the mb i made sure its all done right but now when i boot i get the system telling me there is no bios..and then it says no device installed and it searches for sata device then i get a screen that says del: setup f11:boot menu f12: network boot tab: logo then there is a bunch of jargon on the screen about setting up sata drives it also says press f1 to enter setup and f2 to load defaults and continue i can get into bios for just about 3 seconds and then the pc shuts off....o and also all the fans start up and the devices spin up and or light up. im going to try the last thing i can think of which is taking the mobo out of the case and booting on a flat surface......if anyone can help it would be gratefully appreciated....thanks

seems drivers are ati's main problem.
Edit: I considered buying that Gainward golden sample but i choose the PNY instead becasue it was cheaper and more avaliblie.
Yeah you can overclock the gainward one to Ultra levels.. although ive heard it is better to run with the PNY bios as you can overclock it even more then! strange but true.. I always buy nvidia, better opengl support, better linux support..
sadly the Nvidia chipset on the K8N is not all that great :( wish i had bought a Via based board now..

you can try this: boot your MacBook Pro into Recovery mode by holding down a Command key and the R key as it starts up. Once the OS X Utilities menu appears, select Disk Utility. On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window, select your internal disk’s boot partition (typically called “Macintosh HD”). On the right-hand side, select the First Aid tab if it’s not already selected, then press the Verify Disk button if it’s not greyed out; if it is greyed out, or if it reports that errors were found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu to restart in normal mode. Does it get past the update screen now?

Before the reset quit Pages like this:
Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app.

You probably have some type of hardware failure. The only people that can fix hardware failures are Apple or an authorized Apple repair center by replacing the part or parts that have failed. So you'll need to take the system into Apple to be diagnosed and repaired.

Plug your device into the original charger & block in a wall outlet and leave it alone for a couple of hours. Then, while it is still plugged in, restart it by holding down the home button and the power button for 10-15 seconds until you see the Apple, then let go.

Standard troubleshooting steps in the following order:
1. Reset: Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the apple logo, then release. Ignore the slide to power off.
If no change, continue:
2. Restore your phone from a backup, note: if the problem is related to corrupt data, while this will restore a fresh OS, it will also restore the problem.
If no change, continue:
3. Restore as a "new" phone in itunes & re-sync your content. All saved data will be lost.

Assuming that the battery isn't empty (it can take up to 10 or 15 minutes charging before it responds) then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Thanks so much but none of that helped. It was driving me crazy because it would back up another external drive. I just changed the name of the drive from iPhoto/iTunes Library to Media Libraries and IT WORKED!! I guess for some reason it didn't like the drive being called iPhoto or iTunes ???? I don't understand but I have tried so many solutions and exchanging things out but the name change did it????!!!

If you are able to sign in at https://supportprofile.apple.com/ with the Apple ID that you did use to register your iPhone, you shall be able to access the information regarding your device and its own warranty.
If your iPhone is not yet registered, you can register it by entering its serial number on your profile.
Then, you shall also be able to automatically contact Apple and report the problem. They might even send you another iPhone by mail and provide you with an empty box to return the problematic one.

Try charging the iPhone via a wall socket for at least 30 minutes then try a reset by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button for 20 seconds (maybe longer) until the Apple logo appears, ignore the red slider. Then turn back on. You won't lose any data doing the reset.

And you are quite persistent, Menu Boy, in offering pernickety and pointless prattle, in response to a "support page" on iPad's buggy Pages App.
Let's summarise, for those reviewing this threadless thread for app support..
Mobile pages works reliably for simple docs, especially creating letters and Menus for Microsoft's Kindy canteen (even on special days with nice big pictures).
When importing more complex docs and/or working with larger creations, it is prone to randomly corrupting files upon re-opening, along similar lines as Word (running on a PC).
So, Menu Boy, do they let you sneak into classes every now and then? What is the secret to their training? "Say after me, if any I.T. product works just some of the time, that's a job well done, and if something randomly stops working, we call that the user's fault... And if they complain, we call them names."

I had the exact same problem. Here is what an Apple Support person told me to do - and it worked like a charm!
Go to your APPLICATIONS Folder. Find a folder within that folder called TOOLBARS. Remove the ENTIRE folder. Once you remove that folder, your Aperture should work perfectly.
There is something in that folder that you don't need that messes with Aperture. Try it. Mine worked perfectly!
