PC Suite 6.86.0 No Connections listed

Hi All,
I was using PC Suite 6.85 with an N80 phone on a Bluetooth connection until two days ago, when I received a message that an update of PC Suite 6.86.9 was available. I downloaded this and installed it. Since then I am unable to use the combination.
I am able to pair the phone to the laptop with a Bluetooth connection but no connection types are listed in the PC Suite, Manage Connections nor when I connect the phone by CA53 cable. Why are no connections whatsoever seen? Trying to connect in PC Suite brings the dreaded “There is no available connection type and therefore connection to phone cannot be established. The wizard will exit.”
I have several times uninstalled the PC Suite, applied the Nokia_PC_Suite_Cleaner_3_4 and re-installed to no avail.
Here is the printout of the information screen on help of the PC Suite

Hi
I have noticed from other posts that there is a program called PC Connectivity Solution. Found this on my laptop, ran it and hey presto all is working now - phone and laptop connecting automatically on switch on.
Hope this may help others. Cheers

Hi, did running PC suite cleaner 3.3 work for you? I am having exactly the same problem and tried this. PC suite cleaner didn't seem to run properly. I chose the "other" problem type and it said that it could not create a list of directories, please reboot and try again. I did this but no good. I then reloaded PC suite and got the same results.

  • PC Suite 6.8 - Nokia 6230 - Connects ok but no Syn...

    Hi.
Finally got 6.8 to install on my Windows Xp SP2 machine.
Had the previous version installed and working ok. Had to uninstall/reinstall several times and use many of the fixes listed on this site to finally get 6.8 installed.
Phone connects via bluetooth ok and I can see files on the phone and transfer them back and forth.
PC Suite main window shows Nokia 6230 connected via Bluetooth.
Select synchronize. PC Sync window opens with Not Connected shown at the top of the form. The Synchronise Now and Settings buttons are greyed out. If I push Select Phone nothing happens.
Anyone any idea what the problem is ?

If you open File Manager in PC Suite and locate your phone at the left panel (you must have folders view in Windows Explorer), scroll to contacts folder under the phone, select update button phone with arrow in the upper area of the file manager window, do you get your contacts updated to PC from the phone ?
Just asking this question to narrow down the problem causes, if you get the contact to File Manager/Nokia Phone Browser, your syncronisation with the phone is propably OK, but the PC Sync application is stuck.
Another thing that may help PC Sync to realise the phone is connected is to open manage connections and untick the bluetooth option and then tick it back.
The is also a separate exit option in PC Sync, if you locate the jingjang symbol from Windows tray(bottom right of your screen)right click the icon you can see exit. Choose that and then reopen PC Sync from PC Suite main view.
OK, opend file manager from PC Suite.
The folder structure I see is
    My Bluetooth places->Entire Blutooth Neighborhood->Nokia 6230->
The only subfolder from this level is OBEX file transfer and below that are graphics,Images,Memory Card, Music files,Recordings,Tones,Video Clips
I don't see any contacts folder.
I can go into the memory card folder, see my music tracks and transfer them back and forth.
    Tried unticking/ticking. Makes no difference
Tried closing/reopening PC Sync, no difference.
If I click on the phone icon Nokia 6230 just below Entire bluetooth neighborhood then the right hand panel shows
Audio Gateway on Nokia 6230 (not connected)
COM1 on Nokia 6230 (not connected)
Dial Up Networking on Nokia 6230
Nokia PC Suite on Nokia 6230 (not connected)
OBEX file transfer on Nokia 6230
OBEX Object Push on Nokia 6230
If I double click Nokia PC Suite on Nokia 6230 it changes to show connected. If I right click on the icon and select status the signal strength shows GOOD, but after a minute or two the phone beeps and the icon changes back to not connected.
I noticed that after open/close PC Synch the first time I am no longer able to select Manage Connections. I have to reboot the machine before Manage connections will work again.
Throughout all of this, the icon in the system tray is saying that the Nokia 6230 is connected via Bluetooth.
Why is this so god damn difficult ??

Error message: "Ovi Suite/PC Suite does not recognize the connected phone.Ovi Suite/Pc Suite cannot read the required information from the phone.Check that the connected phone is supported by Ovi Suite/PC Suite".
You can try this which can solve your problem.
    1. Disconnect your phone from PC if connected.
2 .Open Control Panel and go to ‘Programs and Features’
    3. From the list of available programs, choose ‘Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver’
    4. Click on the ‘Change’ button on top toolbar.
    5. In the setup dialog box that pops up next, choose ‘Repair’ and select ok. Wait for setup to complete.
    6. Restart the computer if prompted.
    7. Now connect your phone to the PC. Driver installation should complete and PC/Ovi suite (hopefully) should detect your mobile properly now.

    @ Omarbooyaka,
Welcome to the forum! You should use Nokia Suite to update your device to Belle. If still the same, please go to control panel > printer and devices > right click the phone icon > remove the device. Then try to connet again. Also try all the steps provided by magovoru. Could you also report the issue here if connection still does not work.
    Hope this helps!

  • PC Suite - no USB and Serial Connection Type avail...

I have been trying to solve this problem for days now. I have Windows XP and Nokia 5310. After I installed Nokia PC Suite, there is no USB or Serial connection type in the Connection Manager; it only has Blue Tooth and Infrared conection available. I have install and uninstalled PC suite and used PC Suite Cleaner to clean the installation. I also went into the add and remove program in the control panel and click on "change" to fix the Nokia Connection Manager and Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver. It still didn't work. The thing is that the first time when installed PC Suite on my laptop, it did have USB connection option. Later after uninstalled PC Suite and reinstalled it, it start to have this problem. I am extremly frustrated. Can anyone help please?

Thanks for your reply. I have solved the problem by following your instruction below:
Go to Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Software, there you need to uninstall all Nokia software (Nokia PC Suite, Nokia Cable driver, PC Connectivity Solution ...)
Download and run Nokia PC Suite Cleaner
    Reboot your computer
Download and install PC Suite here.
Connect your phone via USB cable (if possible use a different USB jack) and follow the instructions on the screen.
Maybe when I uninstalled Chinese version of PC suite, the order in which it was uninstalled was not the one you suggested above. So,I followed your instruction and uninstall order to uninstall PC Suite again. I also uninstalled all the antivirus, spyware, and firewall before I reinstall the PC Suite. It worked; then, I reinstalled all the other security software again after I had reinstalled the PC Suite. Although it worked, I still didn't know what exactly cause the problem the first place, PC Suite version, Security protection software, or the order which it was uninstalled? All it matters is it's working.

  • Mail connections list empty

Hello everybody, I have configured mail services and everything is working fine except the connection list in server admin. It's always empty and I'm sure I have at least one IMAP connection. Do I have to enable something else to be able to see the connection lists?
    Thanks!

You shouldn't need to enable anything, but Server Admin is not the most reliable piece of software.
    Open terminal and issue:
    sudo -U _cyrus
This should show you all Cyrus processes and connections.

  • EA1 - Automatically open connection list at startup?

When SQL Developer 1.2.1 first starts up, the connections list is open. In 1.5, the list is always closed and I have to click to open it. Is this a preference setting somewhere or did the behavior change between the versions? I know it's very minor, but it's annoying nonetheless.
    Thanks,
    Richard

Yes, it is. Hopefully they get to add the ability to categorize connections and address this implicitly...

  • HELP - PC Suite does not support the connected pho...

After trying numerous times now I cannot get my question to you via your website. In utter frustration I am posting my problem here.
    My problem is as follows
When I connect my phone via cable to my laptop I get the following error message. 'PC Suite does not support the connected phone. Install a correct version of PC Suite and try again'. I have already uninstalled the version that previously worked fine and downloaded the version recommended by your website which is 6.80.22. This is actually the version I already had which previously did work. I amd still getting the same error message despite uninstalling and reinstalling numerous times. And when I plug my phone into my partners computer it works fine. He has the same operating system and version of PC Suite. I am using Windows XP Home Service Pack. I have a Nokia 6131

Thanks for the descriptive posting, unfortunately there are still many things that can be wrong.
You should try the things that are suggested here in many places: go to control panel - add/remove programs and select first Nokia PC Connectivity Solution and run a repair to it by selecting change - repair. Then same thing for Nokia PC Suite, run a repair to it.
    Then boot PC.
Then check the PC Suite manage connections icon to make sure that the DKU-2, CA-53 USB connection is activated.

  • 6120 - no connections listed, how to restore or ad...

In Nokia Connection Manager on my computer (Nokia PC Suite > Settings > Manage connections), it says "activate a connection type by selecting a check box.  You can edit the highlighted connection by clicking the Configure button."
There are no connection types listed.  The box is empty.  There are no options to add new connections, and the spanner icon is greyed out.  My phone will not connect to the computer as it used to.
I think this started when I installed an update to Ovi recently - I haven't been able to connect my phone to the computer since then, though it has taken me a while to work out where I think the problem lies and come here for help.
I have uninstalled both Nokia PC Suite and the Ovi program, and have downloaded a fresh copy of PC Suite and installed it, hoping that this would restore the connections but it hasn't.  I haven't reinstalled Ovi.
How can I get past this and connect my phone to my computer once again?

Big change OVI messed up the drivers. Use PCSuite Cleaner to remove all Nokia related software. Install PCSuite and connect the 6120 when you're asked.
