PC Suite 7.1 won't install on Vista

I've got a new e71, and I'm trying to install Nokia_PC_Suite_7_1_26_0_eng_us_web on Vista sp2, updated to today.
When I try to run it (even as Administrator), I get a popup "Installer Application has stopped working" right away.
BTW, is there a problem with this board? I posted this issue about an hour ago, and now the post has disappeared.

FWIW, NokiaSoftwareUpdaterSetup_en_us installs just fine.

ITunes 8.1 won't install on Vista after uninstall

So I was trying to update my itunes and kept getting errors. I went on to uninstall it and reinstall which normally works. But this time around, I got some error messages and it won't install.
When it is installing, I get this message:
"An error occurred while attempting to create the directory: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\SyncServices\Schemas\iCal.syncshema\Contents\Resources\da.lproj"
I select retry in the window and it still doesn't work so I press cancel. Then it continues and terminates the install with this message:
"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2330."
It then proceeded to install quicktime with no problems so I'm quite puzzled on what I can do here. I just want to listen to music and my podcasts! If anyone can help me on this it would be greatly appreciated. I've looked through the forum and support things so I need some more guidance.

Onlocation CS3 won't install on Vista 64

i have ppcs3. it came with encore and onlocation.
when i try to open onlocation it tells me that the program has stopped working.
any ideas?

Well I have same problem. I know photoshop has never been the most user friendly bit of software but what good is it if you can't install it?
The dialog with the progress bar appears for about 5 seconds and then absolutly nothing more. I am the laptop's admin. It had the majority of it's 320GB HD available. 4GB of memory and a very good display.
I certainly won't be paying good money for something that won't install on a brand new machine.
The most annoying thing about the whole thing is there isn't even an error message to indicate why the process was aborted.

Purchased XFI extreme audio PCIe for someone and it won't install on vista 32

The hardware isn't detected and thus cannot be installed. I had the same problem with my fatality titanium but at least there was a patch download for windows 7 so the card can be detected. No such patch exists for the extreme audio PCIe which means the card won't install under windows vista or windows 7.
Am I missing something or what? I have read other similar complaints about this particular XFI.

Reading the bowls of the post just below, It said to make sure shockwave was enabled. It wasn't!! I enabaled it and tried my web sites and things worked fine.

Reader 8.1.2 won't install on Vista

I can not get 8.1.2 to install on Vista. When I run the download I get a window asking permission to continue. When I tell it to go ahead I get the little twirling circle (that replaces the old hour glass) for a few seconds then it dissappears and that's it. No popups, no message windows, no error messages, Nothing.
I've tried inactivating the UAC, virus protection, clearing the transaction log, running as administrator on top of being in an admin account.
The same download installed with no problems on my laptop ( which also runs Vista Home Premium ).
At this point I've loaded 7.0 and it's running fine; at least so far.
There have been several posts about problems after installing 8.1.2 but I have not been able to get that far.
I'd be greatfull for any suggestions ----- and ecstatic for a solution.

I regret the moment I thought that installing Adobe reader 812.I had had a blissful relationship with all previous versions and apart from the interfering busybody (ie account control) giving me dire warnings about known compatibility problems - which ive not had - all was fine ; until I tried to download and install 812.I have had the same experience as others with the processgoing smoothly.However,each time ive ried to use it sends a record up with the message "invalid plugin detected adobe willcease workining.I disabled the plug ins and still he is on strike.Indeed,On one occasion I think he must have had his militant friends round as not onlydid he refuse to work but my whole system refused to work and I ended up having to disconnect the power.I would have made him redundant but I had already sacked his predecessor.I suppose I could try to tempt him back with higher wages but the real issue is that the longer people carry on using older versiond the more likely it is that version 7 will fall in with the wrong crowd and be a likely candidate for corruption.(why did he have a copy of woodworker monthly and has been talking to fellow conspirators about wooden ponys?).You have to retain a sense of humour but to end on a serious note - if solution is not found soon I can envisage the trial seperation becoming a permanent divorce!

Power Manager 2.30 Won't Install on Vista on R60

I have used System Update which tells me Power Manager is availa ble for install. I install and its says it is successful and asks me to reboot.
I reboot, but still now Power Manager. If I rerun System Update, I again get told that Power Manager is available for install. You get the idea. Also, the first install removed my orginal Power Manager.
I did successful install a Vista Power Manager driver. I tried removing it and attempting again, but have only been able to install the Driver again and no Power Manager.
Help appreciated.

that´s bad, i would try a system restore, and when your system then runs satisfactionally, don´t Update!
The new power manager seems to have trouble with starting up und some functions are deleted.
Like showing of how much "watt" the system needs in DC mode.

Nokia PC Suite 7.1.30.9 won't install on Vista Ult...

Hi there,
I'm having a problem with Nokia PC Suite for my 6300 phone.
My phone IS NOT connected to the PC.
I've downloaded the latest version of the program.
My computer specs are more than enough.
Yet for some reason the install stops progress at 74%. The images below the install status bar continue to cycle but the bar has been at 74% for 2 hours now. I've tried the install on my work computer as well, also with similar specs and Vista Ultimate 64-bit with the same results. Install seems to hang at 74%. There is no error it just seems to hang.
Any advice??

Hi, I'm having real trouble installing iTunes. I've been using it for years, and tried to update around Christmastime, but that failed. Ever since, the programme won't open. I uninstalled iTunes, and tried to reinstall it now, but the error message I got was...

I too have Vista, the evil entity, and not only can I not re-install itunes, but it has also disabled my 3 month old iphone and does not recognize the usb hook up, please tell me that there is a resolution for this. Mine all started with just trying to manage some files on my iphone through my pc, like I have done before without any problems. I received a message asking me to perform an update, I stupidly clicked ok, this is when my trouble began. The update failed and it then requested that I restore, stupidly again I did, and received this message:
"The iphone could not be restored an unknown error occurred 1603" I then noticed that my screen on my iphone was in a frozen state and had a picture of the usb cord with an arrow pointing to the itunes icon on it. (the phone was never disconnected during updating, so it was not user error) I attempted again, it requested a connection and diagnostics check, both passed without any problems. I tried again, yes gluten for punishment, and same occurrences but received an error log. I called Apple and they ran me through different rebooting methods both with the phone itself and my pc, nothing worked. Then tech then had me uninstall apple itunes and quicktime programs and associated files and try re-installing, this again did not work and now I have nothing. Apple is stating that it is a windows problem, which with Vista, I would not doubt!
And here are some of the other error messages I have received:
that it cannot complete download because of "unknown publisher" and doesn't have "valid digital signature"
in Re to the "apple synch notifier ": "this application has failed to start because a CoreFoundation.dll was not found, please try re-installing" (no disc ever provided, so I can't do that)
In Re to the driver: Apple needs to reinstall driver software for your apple mobile device, with one of the choices being locate driver software...windows will lead you through process or please insert disc (again no disc provided, cannot comply and it cannot locate on web when attempted)
If anyone can help with this I would greatly appreciate it. I am just a general user and have spent countless hours yesterday and today trying to resolve this.

I'm having the same problem every time I try to install BB Desktop software 4.3. I have even tried to run start.exe as administrator, even though I'm logged in as administrator, and I still get the error. Vista 32bit driver won't install on Vista 32bit, but older XP driver wil

So I keep getting this error,

It's weird, as I can install older drivers in Vista, just not Vista drivers. Oh the irony!
Any ideas?
I don't have the driver for the onboard sound installed, so that's not an issue.
Currently using WinXP 32bit driver, but in order to us ALchemy I need newer drivers.

Flash Catalyst Won't Install - Windows Vista

Hi,
I'm currently in a Catalyst/ Adobe Flash Workshop and Catalyst will not install on my computer.
I have:
No previous versions on my computer
No Log files were created
rebooted several times
Disabled Anti-Virus and Spyware
installed Adobe Flash Builder with no problems
tried installing from the cd, changed to a different cd and attempted to download directly from the Adobe website.
I am attaching a screenshot of the error.
after receiving this error it takes me to the screen to give Windows feedback.
I am using Windows Vista Ultimate.
Please help!

What I meant is
when you try to download Flash Catalyst it begins to download in order to subsequently install.
When it gets to the end of downloading onto the system to then subsequently install so that the application can then run it suddenly stops and gives me the Bootstrapper error.
I apologize but I am no longer in the Workshop - me nor the tech team could never get it to install.

TC2 won't install on Vista

I am trying to install TC2 (using an account with admin privileges) onto a 2 year old SONY Vaio laptop with
2GB of RAM running Vista Home Premium SP1 with over 30GB free space on
the hard drive. After launching the installer and selecting the apps
that I want to install and the location, I click the Install button.
The bottom progress bar starts moving to the right, but then after 10
secs goes back to the start and the message 'No programs were
installed' appears. I have turned off all anti-spyware and anti-
malware software, but this also does not help.
In Windows Services I noticed that Flexnet licensing service was off,
so I started it, but that also did not help.
I was also not able to install Captivate 3 (it would not accept the
license key) a few months ago and gave up in frustration.
Lastly, and this might be connected, my licensed copies of Dreamweaver
CS3, Fireworks CS3 and Flash CS3 all stopped working a few weeks ago.
I don't recall the exact error, but it was something like a database
or licensing problem.
Seems like I have a problem with all Adobe software.
Any suggestions anyone? Help!

Toolbox won't install on Vista x64 with HP Business Inkjet 1100

To install my HP 1100 on Vista x64, I was redirected to the only compatible driver which was for the HP 1000. The printer works, but has lost some of it's features such as double sided printing and the Toolbox to monitor ink levels. A search of the forums suggested installing OJProK550_Toolbox_en.exe, but after installing that I can't get it to function because it states the driver hasn't been installed. What driver? I'm confused since I have the functional driver for this printer installed and even reinstalled through New Drivers to be sure I had the latest. I suspect the conflict and failure has something to do with this optional driver I had to use.
Can anyone offer some suggestions please? I hate to wait until my ink cartridges are empty before finding I need one (it usually happens on a weekeng!)
Interestingly, I "scabbed" this printer to my laptop running XP x32 and from there I can do doublesided printing, but cannot access the toolbox either.

Hello, have you tried using the PCL 5 UPD? In my experience, PCL 5 runs better and is not glitchy which seems what was going on before you uninstalled it. Also, how do you have the IP addresses setup for your home network?

D1660 printer won't install in Vista home premium

I have tried several times to install this printer; t keeps erroring giving an error code of:"Fatal error MSI.dot4wrp01, Module C:\windows\system32\hpbmiapi.dll failed to register.
Here's a list of the corrective steps from the support pages that I've tried:
     Gave all users full permission to \program files, (all sub directories)
     Ran msconfig - selective startup
     disabled anti-virus
     Ran msiexec /unreg and rereg
     checked for Windows updates - returned up to date
     ran sfc /scannow - no defective files found
every attempt has had the exact same result. I can't find anything else to check/change/try

This worked for me (assuming you have atl.dll installed in the System32 folder) after researching:
1. Go to the Windows/System32 folder
2. Find CMD.exe and right-click on it
3. Choose "Run as Administrator"
4. At the command prompt type --> "regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\atl.dll" and Enter
5. Restart the computer and run the HP installation software again
6. You should be good to go
BTW, do the HP techies ever Google the error codes???

Won't install on Vista

I got a new computer with Vista. Whenever I click the .exe to install Itunes, it does nothing. Running as administrator does nothing but gives me the "Are you sure you wish to run this program . . ." popup.

I don't know why you need Java, but I need it for 'PageBuilder' for my family tree website, which I have with Geocities.com. The answer that I have found to work OK is to forget about Mozilla Firefox, and use IE!!
The important thing is that it is necessary to go into Control Panel, and delete the Java program completely. Unles you do this Java will not work using IE!! This might sound like double dutch, but it has worked OK for me.
The thing is that, if you open your Windows folder, you will find a Java folder already there. This is obviously why my website worked OK to begin with. It was only when I went onto Mozilla Firefox, and added the extra Java program that I ran into difficulties.
