PC Suite 7 - Messages Transfer problem

When I transfer messages from my phone to my computer the messages automatically change their time/date to the time I transferred the messages to the computer. This means I'll be losing all the times/dates of when the messages were Actually sent/recieved.
This happened only after I installed the latest version of PC Suite. It used to work fine with the previous version of PC Suite (6.8 I think).
Does anyone know how to solve this problem or where I can download the older version of PC Suite?

I have the Nseries PC suite and the sms transfer feature isn't there
But I managed to get an older version from another website.

  • 6220c Messages Transfer Problem

    hello
i am having a small trouble in nokia content transfer/switch application.
Recently i have updated my handset from E50 to 6220c. I have transfered
all data from E50 to 6220c except messages. My E50 had around about
7000-8000 messages in total with "My Folders" & Inbox having around 3000 messages.
I have tried copying/transfering these messages to 6220c but its not possible.
    Things I have tried are-
1.Switch application- does not respond when i do the message transfer.
2.Nokia PC Suite- Does not restore My Folders.
3.Paste option is disabled in PC Suite for some privacy reasons.
4.When i restore the backup taken from E50 by PC suite to 6220c, it does not
restore the my folders and also sometimes the data on my 6220c is lost.
Now Im having the backup + all the messages ie. (.vmg) format files in my pc.
I would be very thankful if any one helps me out in restoring the messages
from my old phone E50 to 6220c. It would be great if all the messages are restored
with all the info. and details. Thanks a ton !
*Also if any one has any applications/softwares of 6220c regarding-
    1.Picture SMS
    2.Sending Flash SMS
    3.Draw Picture SMS & Send
+ Collection of monochromes (72X28 pixel images)
     + Picture SMS viewer
    4.File Explorer
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

i have transferred all my text messages from E50 to 6220c.
first i created a backup of E50 then restored using latest PC Suite.
Now while restoring the message appears auto matically that due to model
differences of the 2 Phones, the restoration might have some errors but the
new data will be copied without erasing/overwriting the previous one.
So  i proceed. After that i noticed only my messages in inbox were transferred.
So i shifted all my messages from my folder and put 'em in Inbox.
Then created Back up and restred.

  • N95-2 & Nokia PC Suite media transfer problems

Finally convinced O2 to let me have a N95-2 for less than a kings ransom, and for the most part I love it. The only problem I have is that I cannot load music from my pc to the phone, and upload videos to the pc. I think I am using the correct software, for music I have tried Win Media Player in Media Player usb mode with the cable and bluetooth, and Nokia music manager with Nok PC suite, again with both connections. As for video, I am using the autoloading PS starter program, but it just won't pick up the videos; there is no problem with photos or the free tracks I d/ld from Nokia, direst to the phone.
I am usually pretty good with this sort of thisng, as far as I can tell both bluetooth ( phone and pc dongle), and data cable are fine, and it is making me feel retarded and tarnishing my love for a coveted toy. Has anyone else had this, or can you point me to help? It is pointless ringing O2 for help, and I don't think Nokia has a helpline.

The problem I am having with my n95-8gb is this: when I transfer music using the pc suite to the phone, the playlists get transferred to the phone but do not show up in the phone's music player. They can be found on the file manager but don't show up in the player.
when I transfer music using the data transfer mode, the organised playlist folders get all messed up on the phone. the individual songs only show up on the unknown artist folder. The albums aren't shown as albums/folders so it's impossible to listen to albums in their original order and worse: when there are thousands of songs without names in one single "unknown" folder finding a given song is impossible. is there any fix to this?
I can't update my firmware since I'd lose the options that came with my subscription with the operator.

  • New function in Nokia Suite to transfer contacts t...

From version 3.6.x whish is now available as a release download here Nokia Suite has a new feature which allows for an easy transfer of contacts, calendar and photos to your Nokia Lumia Windows Phone via SkyDrive.
Due to some publications on tech blogs and in the general media the suggestion was created that Nokia Suite directly supports Windows Phone now. This is not correct although Nokia Suite now offers an easy and fast way to transfer contacts, calendar and photos to your (new) Nokia Lumia Windows Phone.
    Here's how this feature works;
Connect your Nokia S40, S60 or Nokia Belle phone to your PC using the USB cable.
After Nokia Suite is started and your phone shows as connected select Tools>Upload to SkyDrive and follow the on screen instructions. If you do not have one yet you will have to create a Microsoft account (formerly Live ID) which has a SkyDrive attached to it. You can create such account here.
You will now have to reset your Nokia Lumia Windows Phone. Doing so will erase all content from the phone and return it to it's 'out of the box' state. Make sure you have synced any media files to your PC(zune) or Mac(Connector). You can sync these back after the reset. Installed (paid) apps can be restored after the reset using the app Reinstaller from Marketplace.
When finished reset your Nokia Lumia Windows Phone using Settings>about>reset your phone.
Go through the device first use sequence and when asked enter your Microsoft Account used to save the content from Nokia Suite. When the setup has finished your will find your contacts, calendar and photos have all transferred to your Lumia. These will now also be available through your Microsoft account online.
It is important to note this transfer will only work to the Nokia Lumia at the Device First Use sequence (after a reset). If you have your Lumia setup it will not look for or sync the information copied to SkyDrive through Nokia Suite.
SMS message can not be transferred directly, but you can export all messages in Nokia Suite (Messaging>File/Export all text messages) and open the resulting Comma Separated File (.csv) in Excel or OpenOffice Calc to create an Excel sheet (.xls file) this can then be copied to your SkyDrive and opened from the Office app. You could also use a tool to create separate files from the exported .CSV file and copy all of these to SkyDrive.

I'm sure everybody understands this, but let me take a moment. Lumias are not new Symbian phones, they use the MS Windows Phone operating system. (yea I know, duh) What that means is that they conform to the MS concept of operation which is extremely web/cloud centric. They have left behind the idea that a phone is a little piece of a single PC to be cabled and sync'd periodically. It is an entity unto itself. Your data is in the cloud and the various devices, phones, tablets, PCs, connect to that data independently. The benefit to that is generally up to date data, no matter what device, and when, with virtually no user action required. The drawback is the requirement for connectivity. Not perpetual connectivity, but fairly frequent, periodic connectivity. For some the mere fact of cloud storage is an issue. That is just the way it is though.
Moving from any other platform, even older Windows Mobile ones, to this concept can be frustrating, if you weren't cloud based to begin with. The accepted way is to move your data into the cloud from the old platform, and then connect your Windows Phone to it. Again there are various ways to accomplish that. Nokia has attempted to provide some tools to make some of that transition easier. They are not responsible for, nor in a position to change the philosophy by which WP operates. Don't beat them up for how it works. If you don't like it, maybe beat them up for adopting it

  • RE: SMTP message transfer with Forte'

    Hey,
You would have to use POP or POP3 client (not a lot of work) to retrieve
messages from mail server or write you own mail server (much, much more
    work).
See SMTP/POP3 documentation on requirements - implementation, there is
plenty of information on the internet.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi,
We are exploring a number of ways to transfer data from a business partner
through a secure extent circuit. Since I have been reading a few messages
regarding SMTP file transfer (send), I was wondering if anyone has any
experience in writing a Forte' service object to receive an SMTP message
and then parse it and insert the data into a database.

  • "Network out of order" and "Short message transfer rejected"

    Guys,
I have a BB 9300 3G Curve and I have trouble sending SMS. This is a peculiar problem since I
#1 am able to send an SMS problem free sometime
#2 get an error message saying "Network out of order"
#3 get an error message saying "Short message transfer rejected"
Plus, this problem is not specific to a particular contact number. I get different messages (1,2,3 above) for the same number at different times. I have tried putting my SIM in a different handset and it works perfectly fine.
    Someone please HELP!

Simply try pulling out the battery and leaving it out for a couple minutes. Usually, that is the fix-all to glitches. If not, you should contact your wireless mobile provider and see if they can help you. Usually, they are very easy to get along with and want to help you. But I think the battery pulling out will help you. It's happened to me before and I had to do that.

  • How to make message transfer to a topic from a business service synchrouns?

    hi,
I am posting a message to a JMS queue using a business service (say A) and then I am fetching that message from that queue and using a proxy service (B) and a business service (C) for transferring that message to a topic, now I want that my business service A gets the same message that it initially posted as a response back from the topic to make the whole message transfer synchronous, but the problem is that as I select topic on my JMS transport configuration page of business service the text box where I need to specify the URI for the topic gets blocked, hence I am unable to get a response from the topic, can anybody help me out with this as I really want to make this synchronous.
    Edited by: user12826319 on Jul 21, 2010 4:36 AM

yes u got it correct...v require a synchronous message transfer to happen i believe d alternative can be that i send the message to topic directly using a business service and expect a response from the topic itself in the form of the message i initially posted, that thing I would manage but the real problem is to get a response to the business service when i use topic, because as i select topic on JMS transport configuration page of business service the end point URI textbox gets blocked...

  • HT201269 If i transfer everything to my new iphone will my text messages transfer also?

If i transfer everything to my new iphone by itunes and back everything up will my text messages transfer also?

Yes.  I suggest doing the backup/restore to itunes, not icloud.  But before doing the backup, also back up to icloud as a safety measure.  If icloud restore has problems (but often icloud restores have more problems), then do the restore from icloud.

I am runnig Nokia OVI Suite 3.0.0.290 on Windows 7 Professional with N8 Device Software 0.13.016 installed and have uninstalled and re-installed OVI Suite as well as run RegCure from ParetoLogic to see if it is a DLL conflict but there are none reported.

  • Message Transfer by Bluetooth

With my previous BBs (9900 etc) all my Lotus Notes messages transferred to my BMW ConnectedDrive in my car fine. With my new Z10 my POP and IMAP email account messages transfer over, but my work Lotus Notes (Activesync) will not.
On my Bluetooth configure page my POP/IMAP accounts show as "Connected" whilst my Activesync account shows "Not Connected"
I've checked with our System Admin who says he knows of no policy or otherwise set to prevent the transfer, anyone else seen this problem?

The Pre cannot send files directly via BlueTooth in it's present form.
Hopefully, the update to webOS 2.0 may change this!

Since upgrading to the latest version of Firefox, I'm now getting the message "A problem has occurred trying to process your request. Please try again later. I don't get this problem when I login to all my other bookmarked sites, or when I use Internet Explorer. I'm using Windows XP. Any suggestions? Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?
