PC Suite, Bluetooth and Windows 7 - Cannot autheni...

I had real problems getting PC Suite to connect via bluetooth to my 6300 phone.  I'm using a CSR type dongle which installed via plug and play using the Microsoft drivers.
I installed PC suite and followed the instruction to "connect a phone".   The phone was discovered and pairing attempted using the default 123 passkey.  I entered the passkey into the phone.  PC suite sat there for about 5 minutes, then came back with "Cannot authenicate phone".  This was tiresomely repeatable!
After much messing about I finally got the PC suite to authenticate the phone and its all working finel.  Here is what I did in case this helps anyone with the same problem:
Install PC Suite.
From the Windows Start Menu In "Devices and Printers" the bluetooth device should be visible - Mine shows "CSR Bluetooth Radio"
Check the Bluetooth settings of the device "Allow Bluetooth devices to connect to this computer" should checked
Still in" Devices and Printers", click on "Add Device", if the Bluetooth is working correctly, this should scan bluetooth and discover the phone (make sure the phone is set to visible or discoverable).
(An alternative method is to open Control Panel, under the "Hardware and Sound, there should be "Add Bluetooth device" option under "Devices and Printers". )
Select the phone and follow the instructions and pair the PC with phone.  This will involve entering the passkey generated by Windows
If successful the phone should now appear in the Devices list.  I now see "Nokia 6300" as a device.
The next steps are the ones I was missing: right click on the phone device and select Properties and then the "Services" tab
Windows should access the phone device for the services offered by the bluetooth phone.
Check mark the following services:
Dial-up Networking [DUN]
Serial Port (SPP) 'COM1'
Serial Port (SPP) 'Nokia PC Suite'
and click ok
Start up PC Suite and go through the "connect phone" procedure again and it should now connect successfully.
Hope this works for you
Chris

Chris

I recently purchased a Phoenix 810 with Integrated Bluetooth 4.0 and Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g/n/ac featuring Dual-band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) 2 x 2 MIMO technology.  when I purchased the system I used the Bluetooth to connect to external bluetooth speakers with windows 8.1.  I could easily see this menu option in my network option in the control panel.  Recently I tried to use the speakers but could not however they show in my system devices.  I also tried to add new and discovered thar Windows is not longer showing anything with Bluetooth in the control panel.
I have downloaded latest drivers but Windows still does not recognize bluetooth in the control panel anywhere.  Any idea why I could setup and pare bluetooth deviced and now I can't?

    Hi,
I am running Windows 8.1 with Bluetooth and Bluetooth does not show in the Control Panel.  Look for the Bluetooth icon on the task bar.  See the below image.
Once you pair up and acknowledge the passcode on both devices this the following screen should appear (example).

  • On boot camp and windows 7 cannot use dimmability keys on wireless apple keyboard.

    Hello,
I am using boot camp under windows 7 on my mac book air.
However the dimability keys and sounds keys cannot be used with my wireless keyboard.
Do you know how to fix this ?
    Many thanks

The 2007 MacBook Pro only supports 32-bit Windows 7 through Boot Camp although it has got a 64-bit processor, so buy a 32-bit Windows 7 version.
Boot Camp Assistant (in /Applications/Utilities) will guide you through the steps to install Windows through Boot Camp. Follow Apple's steps > http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1636/en_US/boot_camp_install-setup_ 10.8.pdf

  • SOA suite 11g and Windows 7

    Hi All,
I have purchased a new HP Pavilion dv7 -4053cl It comes with Windows 7 Home edition.
If I download Oracle SOA suite 11g and Weblogic 10.1.3., will it work on Windows 7 Home ?
    Thanks,
    p

    Hi ,
I installed SOA suite 11.1.1.2 sucessfully in Windows 7. Now am unable to upgrade it to 11.1.1.3 since I installed the wrong version of weblogic (installed weblogic 10.3.3 that pertains to 32-bit windows system instead of weblogic 10.3.3_generic.jar that pertains to 64-bit platforms.)
I understand that I need to uninstall SOA suite along with weblogic and install everything fresh . However I am unable to uninstall SOA suite 11.1.1.2 now (tried running <ORACLE_SOA_HOME>/oui/bin). Encountered following error :-
    setup.exe has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
    Can you please help .
    Thanks in advance !

  • Creative suite 5 and windows 7 64bit + a rant

Our company has several licenses of Creative Suite 5 Premium Pro  that we use on Windows 7, 64 bit, 12GB ram, xeon quad core 2.93GHz processor, with 2GB nvidia quadro video cards.
Premiere Pro crashes anytime you try to edit a film.
Big file or small, it doesnt matter, it just stops working and crashes to the desktop.  I am a support desk tech for my company and not familar with how premiere works, just when the operator loads the movie, and tries to edit it, it crashes.
Also, Premiere Pro doesnt open on the first or the second attempt to open, but on the third it finally opens.  Clicking on it from the start, then all programs, then adobe creative suite, then finally premiere pro. It just ignores the first two attempts to open it.
Thats the gyst of the tech problem.
    begin rant-
The first time i called Adobe for Creative Suite support, they told us our licenses were registered to a non-corporate account despite them being corporate volume licenses.  Had to get transferred to customer support and fight with them for 2 days to get it sorted.
Now, about 1 month later, same thing is happening again, our corporate volume licenses are registered to some home @live.com mail address and we cannot get support without losing another 2 days arguing with customer support.
Our previous problem was with indesign crashing indisciminately.
Who has time to sit on the phone with Adobe "customer support" all day for multiple days trying to resolve something that shouldnt have been changed in the first place.
Does anyone else see this type of thing happening with licenses changing possession and any tips for running premiere without crashes?
    thanks.

Please repost in the Premiere Forum.

  • Creative Suite 6 and Windows XP

Does anyone know yet if Creative Suite 6 is going to support Windows XP, or is it going to be aimed more at Windows 7?
Aside from whatever feature changes there may be in the individual components, I would purchase CS 5.5 instead of 6 if XP is not going to be supported, or if a significant portion of the new elements of CS 6 are only available on later versions of Windows.
    Thanks,
    -Danny.

    Bob,
I cannot answer your question for anyone else but myself, but the reason I would stay with a 10 year old technology is stability and familiarity.
I don’t upgrade my OS or software to have the latest and greatest. I upgrade only when I’m forced to do so either by developers or as my needs require as dictated by client requests. For the most part, my clients want an end result, on time, on budget and don’t particularly care what tools I use to achieve them.
I used Premiere 4.0 until 2001 before I upgraded to PP1. Used PP1 for almost seven years before upgrading to a used CS 2 (license was legally transferred) and only upgraded that to CS 5.5 when Adobe made an offer that was too good to pass up. It remains in the original box unopened.
I use the 32 bit version of XP Pro. I understand that eventually I will be forced into a 64 bit OS. I will start with a new computer when that happens. Until such time, and so long as my old OS and software continue to allow me to be productive, I’ll stay with the old since from a workflow standpoint, P Pro 2 is more than I need right now. Its old technology that runs on my old OS. All is well.

  • Storm 2 9550 Bluetooth and Windows 7

I am having an issue with my new Storm 2 9550. I can get it to pair with my computer and synchronize wirelessly, but I cannot transfer anything such a pictures to my computer via bluetooth. If I look in devices and printers it shows my blackberry, but it has a large yellow exclamation point on it. When I tell it to troubleshoot, it tells me there is no driver installed for "bluetooth peripheral device." There are three instances of this in the device manager. Where can I find drivers for this? I installed the desktop manager and that did not solve the problem. I let it search for drivers and it comes up empty. Can anybody help me with this?

Many (including me) were stumped by the appearance of two bluetooth devices missing drivers in Windows 7 64-bit build 7100 following the installation of Blackberry Desktop Manager Software version 4.6 or higher.
These exclamation ! marked bluetooth peripheral devices are merely two more ports that Windows 7 can't find the drivers for (there should be FOUR total after you follow my suggestions).
Lucky for YOU, these port drivers are already present on your system (assuming you installed RIM Blackberry Desktop Manager software 4.6 or higher).
The 'trick' is to manually load the extra two PORTS by choosing from a list of drivers.
Find the 2 problem drivers-missing entries in your Bluetooth devices list, right click on the first one, choose UPDATE DRIVER SOFTWARE. Then choose Browse My Computer, then Let Me Pick From a List of Device Drivers. Scroll down till you see PORTS, then choose Rim Virtual Serial Port v2 and click Apply.
You'll get a warning message from windows 7, ignore this choose OK or apply and load the driver. It will report the device is set up correctly.
REPEAT this process 1 more time for the 2nd problem child bluetooth device that is missing the driver.
Then pair up your Blackberry with your laptop. Don't forget to REMOVE your laptop or PC from the blackberry list of paired bluetooth devices and then pair it all over again now that you've fixed the drivers on the pc/laptop side of things in Windows 7 by adding those two ports that were missing (assuming you're upgrading to Windows 7 and having problems where you can't sync with Outlook and your Blackberry using BLUETOOTH.
Once you've paired your Blackberry successfully, you'll need to configure Bluetooth in your connections options in Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.6 or higher.
You can then forget about plugging in the USB micro-cable and happily SYNC it with your bluetooth

  • IPhone 4 bluetooth and Windows 7

I am trying to connect my iPhone 4 to my windows 7 laptop.  Windows 7 is saying that it cannot find a device driver for the iPhone and the iPhone says that it is not connected to the laptop.
    Can anyone help?

this is probably the most common question asked here, which I found the hard way -
answer: you can't do file transfer or syncing on a PC or Mac with bluetooth, even if you install the device driver (available from broadcom.com). only tethering and audio controls via BT

  • Creative Suite Premium and Windows 8

I have an older version of Creative Suite Premium (no number so I assume CS1?). Does anyone know if it is compatible with Windows 8? The photoshop version within the suite is 8. Thanks

Truly 100% compatible? No. Not by a mile. It may install and some programs may even work reasonably, but issues ought to be expected. That stuff didn't even work on Win Vista and Win 7 since those old versions cannot deal with UAC and specific file dialog handling for instance. On Win 8 that may be further exacerbated by the changed printer driver model which will keep you from printing from any of the apps most likely. Therefore the only proper answer would be: Get CS6/ Creative Cloud. Trying to get CS to work in such an environment may be a considerably unpleasant experience and not worth wasting so much time...

You should not need to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate.

  • IPhone Bluetooth and Windows 7 Pairing

I have a 3G iPhone. I could pair it with my Dell Windows XP laptop, using Motorola H350 plugged into one of the USB ports (my laptop did not have Bluetooth capability). I still have that laptop and it still works.
Now I am also trying to pair my iPhone with a Toshiba laptop (Windows 7 64bit). They recognize each other, I am assigned a pairing code (same number shows both on the laptop Bluetooth screen and iPhone). I click the Pair option on the iPhone and the two devices are paired. However, when trying to connect the two devices, iPhone gives "..... "my computer's name" not supported" error message.
    Any suggestions? Thanks.

Yes, BluePhoneElite is the software I use to control the handsfree service on OSX: http://mirasoftware.com/BPE2/. If you pair with OSX look under Blue Tooth Preferences and you can see Handsfree Gateway listed under services.

  • Bluetooth and windows xp

hello i have windows xp and high speed internet how do i get bluetooth on my pc so i can use my tungsten e2 to conect to my pc via BT what do i need to get blue tooth on my pc thanks?
    Post relates to: Zire 31

You need to buy a BlueTooth USB "dongle".   It's a tiny device that plugs into a USB port on your computer that has a BlueTooth radio inside of it.

  • 6500 Officejet and windows 10 - cannot scan

After installing Windows 10 (from Windows 7), I can no longer get my 6500 to scan - have re-installed drivers multiple times using HP Print and Scan Doctor. As suggested in several forum posts I have tried uninstalling the printer but it will not uninstall - every time I reboot it comes back. When doing troubleshooting, my computer thinks there are two printers attached via WiFi (there is only one). Controlling scanner using the buttons on the printer itself does not work either. Printing does not appear to be affected. A photo of the error message is below. Thanks in advance.

Tried downloading the latest Aug. 15 drivers and still no luck with the scanning from the HP App.  Keep getting the "device in use" error as shown.  The webscan interface doesn't allow multipage scanning, only off the glass, so not a real solution. After installing the latest drivers, I was able to use the Microsoft Scan app.  Search for Scan from desktop search.  See: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Officejet-6500-All-in-One-Printer-series---E709/3795309/model/3795313/document/c04714314/ and check under "What if I get an error message or cannot use my printer after the upgrade?" and then under "Can't scan from network-connected printer after upgrading from Windows 7".  Does that mean HP is no longer supporting their scanning app on Windows 10?

  • Windows XP and Windows 7 cannot see my WRT610N USB Drive

I have the WRT610N V2 router with current firmware.  I have tried a thumb drive and an IOMEGA 1tb drive.  In both cases the router sees the drive, allows me to create partitions, groups, and users but the computers in my home cannot see the drive.  I tried the Network wizard and explorer drive map option.  I even tried start/run typing wrt610n or \\wrt610n and I get network path cannot be found.  I have three computers in the house, one (XP) with Norton 360, one (XP) with SOFOS and one with no AV sw at all (Win7).  None of these can see the network path.
    What am I missing?
    Thanks
    Dan

To map the drive on your computer click on Start - RUN - type "\\192.168.1.1" and click ok... When prompted for Username and Password type "admin" and click ok... Now you will be able to see the folder which you have shared on  your router, right click on it and select "Map network drive" and click on finish.
Now it will map the drive on your computer and you should be able to transfer the file from your computer to the USB drive.
