PC Suite contact updates

I am having problems when I try and update my contacts on my Nokia 6280 using PC suite..
..I can connect okay using either bluetooth or cable. I can use all the other functions within PCSuite but not the contacts.
When I click on the contact icon, the program will run and I get an empty page for contacts. When I then update it the phone starts initialising and then transferring the contacts, gets to 28 of xx and then stops.
The PC screen then shows an error along the lines of 'unable to complete task'. None of the contacts have been transferred.
I have a Nokia 6280, and run Windows XP SP2, an Athalon 3000 64 bit processor and IE7.
I'm not sure if the problem is IE7 related or not. Anyone had any issues with IE7 and PC Suite?
I have run the registry edit and the PC Suite cleaner with no success.

What is your PC Suite version?
Anyway, try to synchronise your contacts to Outlook by using Nokia PC Sync -> If you get the same problem, there are maybe some "invalid" contact in your phone and it cause this problem...check your contacts in phone.

    The best way would be to create a trigger in the database that would update the history table whenever the data was changed. The next best would be to use a stored procedure. I would not try to do this with server side scripting.

    After updating to iOS 5.0 on my iPad2, my contacts updated in name only, the information (addresses, phones, etc.) is blank.  Has anyone else seen this?  The cloud has all the contact information intact. 

    No, no replies yet.  Fortunately, I have all my contacts backed-up on Google.  I haven't lost the data, just need to merge into my iPad contacts.  Good luck with your call to Apple.

    iCloud changes taking over 2 hours is definitely not standard.  Even two minutes would be a very long time.  By "immediately", I mean less than two seconds!
    I cannot imagine why your changes would take so long to sync.
    One thing to try might be this:
    Make the changes on your MacBook Air.  Use Safari on the MacBook Air to sign in to http://www.icloud.com and see if you notice the changes immediately (less than two seconds later).  Perhaps that might help localize the problem.

    Our site would like to evaluate Sun's Collaboration Suite, but we are unable to get the eval copy working.
    We are installing the SPARC version.
    I went through the install and got to "Verify the Installation".

  • When trying to deleted contact in address book receive error message "Contact updated externally. Changes will be lost and the viewer closed"

    I recently added a contact sent to me via BBM as .vcf file and when i try to delete this one particular contact i get the following error message error message “Contact updated externally.  Changes will be lost and the viewer closed“.
    I have added contacts using the .vcf received via BBM but never encountered this issue.
    I've reset the device, deleted in Outlook as i'm on a BES server and still the same.
    Anyone have this problem?

    i found the solution for the network connection error during the software update process.....
    the error dialog box says to check ur connection or firewall settings...so i recommend the users who are having this problem...first of all if you have any antivirus software installed than turn it off or disable it before starting the update and then Go to- Control panel-Windows Firewall-Then turn it off. and now start the update application you will notice the change and i am sure the update will start and complete without any errors...i was also having the same problem but i tried and resolved it... and also a very important thing that you should take care of....you should make sure that no other application is using your internet connection, don't start any other downloading program because it will decrease the ovi suites downloading speed and it may cause an error...
    if the problem persists after turning off ur firewall than restart ur pc and try again...

    this will work with the nokia OVI Suite version 2.1.
    because i had not tried to update the ovi suite because i like the 2.1 version very much...
    I really tried it very much, because my father says that Try and try and try until you get success...

    I am trying to sync my contacts list in PC Suite 7 to my Nokia 6120C but there are no options in the sync list for syncing between the PC Suite Contacts and my phone. Well not that i can find anyway. Any ideas Please?

    Poor you! I was faced by the same problem. Mind you! I had some 300 contacts to synchronise!!! Here is what I did...
    I installed PC Suite on my WinXP partition(I have an iMac).
    I went to my Yahoo account. then I chose to export my address book. Then you choose the option to export to Microsoft Outlook.
    Then, in PC Suite, you just choose the file from outlook. And it should work.
    NOTE: I've been pretty quick with the procedures... Its more of a summary. however, should you encounter any problem, do let me know. I'll surely help you.

    They might actually be the same Apple ID. When you have an email and use it to log into iCloud it will create an iCloud alias for you. I have an @live.no appleID, which also has an @iCloud.com alias that are otherwise identical.
    If you log into applied.apple.com with the @gmail.com account you should see the @iCloud.com as an "alternate" email address.
    You might also have created a new iCloud account/Apple ID when you used iCloud the first time. Then this @iCloud.com will not be connected to you @gmail.com address or any other mail addresses. You can then log out of that Apple ID at Settings>iCloud and log in with this @gmail.com Apple ID and sync contacts.

    I have recently graduated from school and I am trying to keep my address book up-to-date as my friends go their seperate ways. I was wondering if any one has any suggestions or tips for keeping their address book information both current but also complete. Here is one idea I had, but I am unsure if it is even possible:
    - Create a script or automation that sends out an email to a contact, whose email address I already have entered into their vCard. The script, using this address, will send this message and attach a copy of their vCard.They can then edit their own information, add their picture, phone numbers, addresses, personal info, etc. They then send the vCard back and a script updates the info.
    Details may need to be altered. Still this is the basic idea. Is it possible or, even better, is their an easier way to do this? I am flexible as to how but i wanted at least tell you my idea in order to better show what I am trying to do.

    A much easier way to accomplish this is to open—and have all of your interested contacts open—a FREE account at Plaxo. Whenever a contact updates their information, you'll receive the updated information, posted automatically in your Address Book, as long as you have installed the Plaxo plug-in for the Address Book.
    You can also initiate a group update request from within the Address Book itself.

    Hi I have tried all three Nokia Pc suite / Ovi Suit / Software Updater. to update the firmware of my nokia n95 8 gb. but none of them is updating my phone. Right now 20.0.16 is the firmware on my mobile but you can check it out that the latest firmware available for N95 8GB ,,,, 31.0.015 . i tried this on my other laptop as well but showing me the same problem. i cant understand that when i am using the newest versions of Nokia Pc suite / Ovi Suit / Software Updater than why they are not installing the new firmware on my phone and showing me the message that it has already got the latest firmware which is totally wrong. i have attached a pic for the helpers to help and guide me out of this situation. thanx

    Hi, farby thanx for the reply, First of all my phone is already unlocked and one my friend is also facing this same problem. as i have mentioned that there is update available on the nokia website. its just he Updater software which is not updating although it is connected to internet. maybe you should look to the picture i have attached to this thread. In the pic it is saying that 20.0.16 is the firmware is present on my mobile But you can check it out that the latest firmware available for N95 8GB ,,,, 31.0.015. and just look at the difference in the firmware versions. Its not like that N95 8gb is a latest phone and would have to wait for the new firmware. There should had been many firmware updates available between 20.0.16 to 31.0.015 versions. i hope so that you will understand which i am trying to explain. thanx bye
