Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
No, they can't be seen from the Contacts Editor. There I have four columns: Name, Mobile, Phone & E-mail. I would have thought that they should all appear under "Mobile". This is the problem I am facing...

  • Sync between PC suite Contacts & Phone

I am trying to sync my contacts list in PC Suite 7 to my Nokia 6120C but there are no options in the sync list for syncing between the PC Suite Contacts and my phone. Well not that i can find anyway. Any ideas Please?

Poor you! I was faced by the same problem. Mind you! I had some 300 contacts to synchronise!!! Here is what I did...
I installed PC Suite on my WinXP partition(I have an iMac).
I went to my Yahoo account. then I chose to export my address book. Then you choose the option to export to Microsoft Outlook.
Then, in PC Suite, you just choose the file from outlook. And it should work.
NOTE: I've been pretty quick with the procedures... Its more of a summary. however, should you encounter any problem, do let me know. I'll surely help you.

    bye!

  • PC Suite Contact Data Location?

My 6220 died while using PC Suite [PCS] for the first time on a new XP machine taking all my contacts with it. (I had not had a chance to do a content copy yet).
Where does PCS store / does it store the contacts of phones that have previously been used with it?
The reason I ask is I'm fairly certain I still have the hard drive from my previous desktop computer (also Windows XP) that was used with my phone.
I was hoping to take the data from the old drive, relocate it to my current PCS install and see if I can put the old data back on my new phone.
    And input warmly welcomed!
    Cheers, Antony.

  • PC Suite Contacts refreshes only one way

I recently upgraded to a Nokia E51 and transfered all my contacts to the phone using PC Suite 7.0.9.2, under Windows Vista.
I can edit a contact on the phone, then refresh Contacts in PC Suite to bring the changes to the PC. However, if I edit a contact in PC Suite (say add an address) then refresh, PC Suite says it has saved the changes to the phone, but the changes are lost, and any additional detail field on the phone for that contact is deleted.
I do want to be able to mass edit quickly from the PC end to add loads of extra detail to each contact, but am unable because of the above.
    Help?!?

Well, I never thought it would be that easy. Upgraded to the latest PC Suite, and all is now well. Thanks for the help. I wish they we're all that easy.

  • PC Suite contact updates

I am having problems when I try and update my contacts on my Nokia 6280 using PC suite..
..I can connect okay using either bluetooth or cable. I can use all the other functions within PCSuite but not the contacts.
When I click on the contact icon, the program will run and I get an empty page for contacts. When I then update it the phone starts initialising and then transferring the contacts, gets to 28 of xx and then stops.
The PC screen then shows an error along the lines of 'unable to complete task'. None of the contacts have been transferred.
I have a Nokia 6280, and run Windows XP SP2, an Athalon 3000 64 bit processor and IE7.
I'm not sure if the problem is IE7 related or not. Anyone had any issues with IE7 and PC Suite?
I have run the registry edit and the PC Suite cleaner with no success.
    Thanks..

What is your PC Suite version?
Anyway, try to synchronise your contacts to Outlook by using Nokia PC Sync -> If you get the same problem, there are maybe some "invalid" contact in your phone and it cause this problem...check your contacts in phone.
if PC Sync works ok, see this:

  • PC-Suite contacts recovery option?

Hello, I just connected my N900 to Nokia PC Suite, intending to add a new contact via Comm.Center. I noticed Pc Suite had stored quite a number of outdated contacts that have been haunting me for ages, restoring themselves to my device whenever I hooked it up to Pc- or Ovi Suite. In an attempt to finally get rid of them, I thought "ok, I'll just wipe PC -suite clean and then restore my hand-picked contacts from the device." Well, bad idea, of course everything was wiped from N900 too! aaaaaaaarggggh! Is there any way to restore everything to the way it was before? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease be there, restore option! Thanks, Ben

have you ever used the backup function on your n900?
if zo, i would restore that backup to your device.
personally, i use outlook to backup all my contacts and calendar stuff. that way i know its all there. but i make backips about once per week on my device.

  • PC Suite Contacts xml file

I am running PC suite over bluetooth for a 6230.
Looking to upgrade the handset and want to use PC Suite to edit contacts in preparation for a transfer.
The contacts folder contains only an xml file which I cannot open.
How can I edit the contacts?

    Hi barrington,
In order to upgrade your handset you need datacable for the handset else you have to visit Nokia care points at your location. If you can able to connect your handset with Nokia PC Suite, you can edit your phone contacts with the help of Nokia communication centre. Could you please confirm where yor are trying to open xms file? from Phone?

  • Nokia 6303 /ovi suite contacts in outlook sync pro...

    Hi
I am using ms outlook on windows xp and ovi suite.  The problem is that not all the information from outllok is passed to the phone.  Some addresses are left out and sometimes other info such as phone numbers or email address don't sync.  Some contacts are fine and there doesn't seem to be any consistancy to the problem.  Any ideas anyone.
    Regards

I have N97 Mini and a lot of problems.Actually I wouldn't called it problems because there is no solution ever post by NOKIA support. This is really a nightmare that NOKIA COMPANY sold to the buyers along with phones we bought .I have 10 years of experience with NOKIA devices all of the models including the first Symbian 6600.Now the whole month I spent every day trying to handle this **bleep** od device and the biggest **bleep** OVI suite searching on hundreds of sites and forums but everywhere the same only bad no solution and NOKIA just giving new versions that means nothing for solving problems.
So XP Pro OS when i try to sync contacts  the most of the contacts I do but about 33 contacts reports Sync conflict and i have notes that those contacts has a photo of people next to number.
Also well known problem is with music, videos and photos. I have music stored in mass storage and what ever i tried i cannot reproduce the music from the device.I made playlists,library,...
The next thing I'll do, I will turn on my camera and say what I think of new NOKIA and OVI suite than I will throw N97 Mini hard on the floor and madly wade over device while it becomes a pile of  trash what is the real description of new generation touch screen and new OVI suite any version!

  • Nokia 5800 and Ovi Suite Contacts Sync Changes Pic...

    Hi,
I have a Nokia 5800 and just installed the latest Nokia Ovi Suite (2.0).
It is a good tool, but I have a problem with the synching my contacts.
Befor Ovi sync, I use to associate pictures from my gallery with contacts. When I dial the contacts the picture of the contact took up most of the screen (until the contact answers the call - then it makes the picture small and puts it in the speech bubble)
After I sync'ed with Ovi Suite, the contact picture now shows up as a small - very small - thumbnail image during the call on the phone.
Is there something that can be done to protect this from happening, or a setting that can be changed in Ovi to use a large picture instead of a thumbnail?
My 5800 has the latest firmware installed (available to me in my country) - which is 31.0.101.
Thanks for the help in advance.

one more bump and then I give up on Ovi suite. Once again

  • Nokia PC Suite-Contacts synchronization stopped af...

    Hello,
    I'm using a new 3110 classic (v. 05.50 14-08-07 RM-237) with PC Suite Enterprise Edition (6.86.11.3) and MS Outlook 2003 SP3 on a Windows XP SP3 PC.
Syncronization of Calendar/To do and Notes works perfectly, but Contacts can not be synchronized. When the process is stopped, the phone has sent the first half of amount of contacts and then USB connection is lost. When Sycn process is started , the phone's display is showing: "Sycn/Sending data... " and it stops every time at "232 of 464", then the displays goes white for a minute (only the batery icon remains) and PC suite is saying that "Nokia... is disconnected via USB". After that, home screen appears again and USB connection is established automatically. Syncronization report is showing the summary: "PC Sync has encountered a problem and has terminated the synchronisation" and there are also 2 warnings: "The Synchronisation has been Terminated! PC Sync could not update the data to the mobile phone" and "PC Sync information. The connection to the mobile phone has been lost".
The only ocassion when the contacts sync works was when the phone's memory was empty (no contacts). In the same time, I cannot save edited contacts using (Options-Edit contact). The phone is saying:"Operation Failed"
Please, could you tell me what is happen? Any solution? Thank you.

  • Nokia Suite & Contacts

Hi - I am using USB cable successfully. When I backup my contacts to my PC it does not show all the numbers that are in the phone (home, work, fax, mobile). It only shows 2 numbers which are mobile and general I believe. Is there anyway to see / save the same numbers that are in the phone (Model 6126)

in the contacts editor's simple view there's only two types of phone number visible. you can click the button (lower left) to switch it to advanced view to show all of them.
anyway the contacts are in vCard format which itself is in plain text - any text editor will do.

I want to know that, will i able to work in PC by GPRS connection with nokia OVI PC suite with my
nokia N97 Phone. Because 3G and WLAN is not available there.
    Thank You

    Download and install Ovi suite:
    http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/nokia-ovi-suite
Connect your phone via USB Cable, select "PC Suite" mode on phone when it prompts.
Wait for "Support Softwares" to install, (you might need to accept installation on phone screen), When Ovi suite tells you, its now connected.
On right side you'll see connect to internet, click that, First time it'll ask for settings, (Select your operator and Country) click ok.
Now every time you just need to connect it to PC, in "PC Suite" Mode, open ovi suite, and hit "Connect to internet".
