PC-Suite contacts recovery option?

Hello, I just connected my N900 to Nokia PC Suite, intending to add a new contact via Comm.Center. I noticed Pc Suite had stored quite a number of outdated contacts that have been haunting me for ages, restoring themselves to my device whenever I hooked it up to Pc- or Ovi Suite. In an attempt to finally get rid of them, I thought "ok, I'll just wipe PC -suite clean and then restore my hand-picked contacts from the device." Well, bad idea, of course everything was wiped from N900 too! aaaaaaaarggggh! Is there any way to restore everything to the way it was before? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease be there, restore option! Thanks, Ben

have you ever used the backup function on your n900?
if zo, i would restore that backup to your device.
personally, i use outlook to backup all my contacts and calendar stuff. that way i know its all there. but i make backips about once per week on my device.

  • I can't accessed system recovery options after the repairing process was interrupted.

although it's not my PC, i'm still concern about it (it's actually a public computer in our library). I actually tried to repair it using the system recovery options of windows 7 with thinkvantage technoliogies  but i interrupt it because maybe someone will caught me and i will be mistakenly be liable. and the result is after i restared it, it restarts over and over again, with BSOD appearing for a split second. i tried to use disable autorestart on system failure feature, and i saw the BSOD. but the real issue is i can't go through the recovery options, only until the part when i'm asked to select a keyboard input method, then the next part is this message: "You must log in to access System Recovery Options. If you are having trouble logging in, please contact your computer administrator for assistance. Click OK to restart the computer." anyway, this is the BSOD says:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Disable or uninstall any anti-virus disk defragmentation  or backup utilities. Check your hard drive configuration, and check for any updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

I hope this problem will be solved as much as possible.  thank you in advance. and i also don't know what model of this Lenovo all-in-one PC is. but i think this is 3318F9U, and its i forgot its BIOS version, and i don't know how to access it. and also, i'm not sure if there's a preloaded Superfish in this all-in-one PC, maybe the vulnerability started it. because i recently read an article regarding the Superfish's vulnerability.

  • Sync between PC suite Contacts & Phone

I am trying to sync my contacts list in PC Suite 7 to my Nokia 6120C but there are no options in the sync list for syncing between the PC Suite Contacts and my phone. Well not that i can find anyway. Any ideas Please?

Poor you! I was faced by the same problem. Mind you! I had some 300 contacts to synchronise!!! Here is what I did...
I installed PC Suite on my WinXP partition(I have an iMac).
I went to my Yahoo account. then I chose to export my address book. Then you choose the option to export to Microsoft Outlook.
Then, in PC Suite, you just choose the file from outlook. And it should work.
NOTE: I've been pretty quick with the procedures... Its more of a summary. however, should you encounter any problem, do let me know. I'll surely help you.
    TC!
    bye!

  • Lost recovery options

    Welcome,
I have problems with serial key to windows 7 home profesional becouse my hard drive was broken and i had to buy another one . I lost my recovery options so i tried to download operation system from MS. While texting my key from back of the laptop a get information:
The product key you entered appears to be for software that was pre-installed on a device. Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options.
    Can I count on help?

I suppose it will be the easiest and quickest way to reset/remove the lost Windows administrator password with a Windows password recovery tool like Daossoft Windows Password Rescuer which can be searched through Google. It is an omnipotent program which works on any brands of laptop or desktop such HP/Dell/Samsung/Acer/Asus/Lenovo .etc. And it supports any versions of Windows such as Windows 7/8/8.1/Vista/XP .etc.  You just need to install the  Daossoft Windows Password Rescuer into any accessible computer and launch it to burn it to a USB/CD/DVD flash drive. Then boot your password lost Windows from the flash drive to reset/remove its administrator password. You can refer to the video for more detailed steps: Reset Lost Windows Password - Windows Password Remover for Any Windows Version

  • Nokia PC Suite-Contacts synchronization stopped af...

    Hello,
    I'm using a new 3110 classic (v. 05.50 14-08-07 RM-237) with PC Suite Enterprise Edition (6.86.11.3) and MS Outlook 2003 SP3 on a Windows XP SP3 PC.
Syncronization of Calendar/To do and Notes works perfectly, but Contacts can not be synchronized. When the process is stopped, the phone has sent the first half of amount of contacts and then USB connection is lost. When Sycn process is started , the phone's display is showing: "Sycn/Sending data... " and it stops every time at "232 of 464", then the displays goes white for a minute (only the batery icon remains) and PC suite is saying that "Nokia... is disconnected via USB". After that, home screen appears again and USB connection is established automatically. Syncronization report is showing the summary: "PC Sync has encountered a problem and has terminated the synchronisation" and there are also 2 warnings: "The Synchronisation has been Terminated! PC Sync could not update the data to the mobile phone" and "PC Sync information. The connection to the mobile phone has been lost".
The only ocassion when the contacts sync works was when the phone's memory was empty (no contacts). In the same time, I cannot save edited contacts using (Options-Edit contact). The phone is saying:"Operation Failed"
Please, could you tell me what is happen? Any solution? Thank you.

  • Default Mail, Contacts, Calendars options

What are the default Mail, Contacts, Calendar options? Nephew was playing with phone and changed a bunch of settings. Curious what are the default settings since I liked it the way it was.

The contacts didn't seem to work for me. I'm syncing mine via iTunes still. The rest works well.

  • Data Recovery Options?

In the process of transferring from a POP3 Account to IMAP, I deleted a POP3 Account and lost a lot of email's I still need. I've seen some data recovery options such as File Salvage, but I'm wondering if there are any cheaper options out there? Thanks for the help.

What an awful thing to have happen! Especially on such a special and happy day! You have my deepest sympathy.
From what I understand, as long as the data has not been overwritten, you should be able to recover it. I will have to let the explanation of how to do this rest with people more knowledgeable than I am, as I have never had occasion to have to do this. But I have no doubt that they will post the appropriate resources.
I have been told that the only way to destroy a hard drive so that you can't recover the information is with a hammer. That said, it could still be costly. But unless your new backup partially wrote over some of your previous backup, it should be recoverable.
Good luck, and have a happy honeymoon--don't let this spoil it! And the best of everything for your future!

I want to factory reset my macbook pro but my computer doesn't give me the recovery option, it gives me Macintosh HD only.

    Hello sallay Amir,
Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you would like to erase your MacBook Pro and install a new copy of OS X, but the Mac does not boot to OS X Recovery when you hold the Command + R keys during startup.
If your Mac came with OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) or earlier, I recommend referring to the steps in this article:
Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard: How to Erase and Install - Apple Support
For a newer Mac (OS X Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks or Yosemite), try reinstalling OS X by using Internet Recovery, as described in the "OS X Internet Recovery" section on this page:
OS X: About OS X Recovery - Apple Support
    All the best,

  • Will Windows 7 damage rescue & recovery option?

I have installed Windows 7 on my X300 which is running XP. I can boot into XP or Windows 7 but pressing the ThinkVantage button just gives me the option to choose boot device (as F12), BIOS config or normal boot - no recovery option.
As it is a second hand system, I don't know if it worked before I installed Win 7 but I now recall that I had a similar problem on a Lenovo that I installed Linux on. It seems quite possible that installing a new OS with its boot manager could affect the R&R partition.
Have others had the same problem?

    Long time ThinkPad user: 770, 600, T40, X300, now X301 240gb SSD, 8 GB ram (love it! :-)) Windows 7 64 bit.

I do not think it can be done.
If anyone knows how, they might get a ton of kudos!
A good method is to get a external HD, and use Win 7's built in
disk imaging software to back up to external.
You could use a partition on the internal HD, but that is not as disaster proof.
If you have NO intention of getting Vista back in the future, you can
re-partition the HD when installing Win 7.
If you want to have that option, create recovery disks in Vista, and then
install Win 7 in the same C:\ partition as Vista. Don't resize partition!
Rescue button will not work, but you will be able to recover Vista from recovery disks.

  • HP Pavilion - Do I need external Recovery option?

    Hi,
I have just bought a HP Pavilion 15.  Keep getting contractdictory advice.  Some say must have an external Recovery option; others say why, there is no need and it is a lot of hassle to create a set.  Need advice:
    1)  is it really necessary to have an external option when I have the recovery partition (D) on the hard drive?
    2)  If I need an external option (however hard that may be to create), am thinking about buying Panasonic DVD-RAM Disc Rewritable 9.4GB.  Is this appropriate media?  And, how do I work out how many discs I need to buy?
    3) absolute worse case secenario - if I needed to recover & didn't have an external recovery media, what would be my other options?
Unfortunately, know enough knowlegde/experince to worry but not enough to know what to do.  Can anyone help?
    This question was solved.

To the best of my knowledge, HP allows driver downloads regardless of warranty status..  About the only time you will ever have an issue is if you are trying to put an OS on a machine it's not designed for..  IE Win7 on a Win8 machine, etc etc..
Even then, there are always alternatives...
My philosophy has always been to NEVER put anything on a computer that you can't live without..
If Drivers are your concern, don't worry.  With VERY few exceptions, drivers are ALWAYS available..
The hassle of going out into the wild of the Interent to find them is really the only downside...

  • Satellite A135: Difference between Recovery options

    Hi,
I have a Toshiba Satellite A135, OS: Vista Home.
I am trying to reformat my laptop using the system recovery disk that came with my laptop.
I am given two options when I run the disk:
    1) Restore to factory out-of-box state, and
    2) Erase the hard drive.
What are the differences between the two options?
My goal is to do a total clean up on my HDD to get rid of the malware.

This is a US notebook and therefore Im not quite sure what the exact difference could be but as Im not mistaken the first recovery option set the notebook back to the factory settings.
The other, second option would format only the HDD
If you tried both options please post the results
