PC Suite, no action on icons.

Win XP Pro SP2
PC Suite: 6.82.22.0
Haveing a problem with Nokia PC Suite, I can't click on some of the icons, like "Connect to the Internet", "Manage Connections" etc. Some of them work, like the file manager, messages and contacts.
Another computer with almost exactly the same setup (OS, Laptop, Phone, Windows version etc) works just fine.
Any ideas?

Yes, I think so....
Do you have file what name is "Program" in C:\ folder?
if you have, rename that FILE name (e.g. "Program_old")...does it help?

V600 Midlet Suite Missing Midlet and Icons

I developed a Midlet suite application about 3 years ago and have not used it for at least 2 years. I just rebuilt the suite with Java Studio and it runs perfectly in the emulators. When I tried to download the suite via a WAP page using T-mobile on a Motorola V600 the application does not load correctly. The suite has 4 Midlets and only 3 show up in the phone. Also all of the suite icons are missing. It�s been a while so how do I debug a Midlet suite on a Motorola phone? Are there special issues running an application on these phones? TIA.

I seem to recall motorola phones only ever show the 1st 3 midlets in a suite.
They are also sensitive to icon size - I think the correct size is 15x15 for motorola's.

Changing Site Actions Gear Icon to 'Site Actions' Word in SharePoint 2013

Hi all,
I want to know that is it possible to change the Site Action's Gear Icon to Site Actions word in the SharePoint 2013 Master Page?
If so how?
It should align along with the Logged in UserName like the Gear Icon.
Please could someone give me some tip on this?

As I understand, you would like to add text “Site Actions” to site settings gear icon. We could use JQuery to achieve it:

PC Suite not showing all icons

I have the s/ware installed on my old laptop and use it to connect to the internet via GPRS, both DKU-2 cable & Bluetooth. I installed the same version from a CD on my new laptop (XP home, SP2) but do not see the icon to connect to the internet. In addition there was another icon missing for 'Store Images' and I think there was another difference - I don't see 'Manage Connection' but instead I saw something about modem settings. (not sure as I've uninstalled it)
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no other (i.e LAN) internet connection available at Vodafone's suggestion.
I've tried installing a new version but that fails - appears to be corrupt in Data1.Cab so it fails if I run it directly or save it locally and then run it.
It's a 6230i on Vodafone.

I now notice several differences in the icons so the version I've installed from CD is not the version I have installed on the old laptop. That one is 6.6.16 and the CD one is 6.41.6 so presumably if I can hold of a new version that might sort things out?

Finder Action menu icon

This icon (animated) has suddenly appeared in the upper right side of the screen, where the wireless, sound and battery indicators appear. If I right click it, it says 'Stop Open in Preview', but there's no way to get rid of it. I tried holding down the Command key and dragging it from the toolbar, but nothing happens. I'm at a loss as to why it is there or how to get rid of it.

If you can not command+dag it off the menu bar it means that it was installed by one of your 3rd party programs (no idea which one). check your login items in accounts system preferences. one of those login items must be doing it. removing this login item and logging out/in should make this icon go away.

Adding or Displaying Site Actions Gear Icon Using Custom SharePoint Master Page

I am using a custom Master Page within my SharePoint Site in SharePoint 2013 Site. In the top right corner the Gear Icon is not displaying. But when I hover on it the place holder work and when I click on it the menu is displaying correctly.
Now I want it to display that gear icon using my custom master page.
So how can I do that? Could someone help me to solve this?

From your description, my understanding is that you customize a master page in SharePoint 2013, and you want to display the gear icon.
I wonder if just this site cannot display the icon or each site cannot display the icon in your farm? To resolve your issue, you could check these points in your environment:
Compare current site code to other site in file seattle.master. you could find code by these steps: search code with keywords [id="siteactiontd"] in seattle.master -> compare code between tags [<SharePoint:SiteActions></SharePoint:SiteActions>].
Then check if the URL of the gear icon is correct or not as the screenshot below.
Please check if there are some CSS code may hide your gear icon in you custom Master Page.
If each site cannot display the icon, you could check if the file spcommon.png(path:..\ 15\TEMPLATE\IMAGES) is missing or not.
In addition, you could debug your code with pressing F12 to open developer tool in IE.

Action Center SysTray Icon: "Scheduled Scan"

I see a "hour" subicon in the Action Center SysTray Icon, action center says "Scheduled Scan". Where to find the scan information in the Action Center control panel?
More deeply:
Have a Windows Defender scheduled scan running.
The Action Center icon changes.
You click on the icon.
A pop-up appers - "Scheduled Scan | Review recent messages... | Open Action Center"
Click "Open Action Center".
Received "no issues found" and have a (notification) clean window.
So where to find that a scheduled scan is running?
[ Yes, I can click the Scheduled Scan line in the Action Center, but if I go to the Action Center over Control Panels? Additionally, the Action Center icon is part of Action Center, right? ]
PS: The "Schedules Scan" text does not give me any impression that something is in progress... there's no verb, nor who is showing the text. (so I were confused because I was not able to find why the icon changed for ages.)

Latest PC Suite version fails after 1-2 system reb...

I've been using PC Suite successfully under XP SP3 with my 6102 phone connected via Nokia USB cable. When I updated PC SUite recently to v7.1.18.0 the suite worked fine, but after a couple of reboots of my computer it no longer registers the phone when I plug the cable in. When I tell PC Suite to "repair" itself, it knows that a Nokia phone is connected, even though it shows it as disconnected in the system tray area. I have unistalled and reinstalled PC Suite twice with repeateable results -- sees the phone initially, then refuses to connect fully after system reboots. Any ideas?

PC Suite Cleaner is no longer available on the Nokia web site. I found a copy (v3.6) on another site but when I tried to run it, I got a message that it would not work with the version of PC Suite that was "installed" (the fact that PC Suite Cleaner detected anyting at all proves that PC Suite uninstall left residual stuff on the hard drive). Tried reinstallng newest PC Suite (now for the fourth time), with the same result: Worked flawlessly, but icons did not appear in system tray area after reboot; when trying to uninstall or repair, it detects that a Nokia phone is connected, but PC Suite won't display icons or sync with phone with it unless I completely uninstall and reinstall it.

Problem with PC Suite and Windows 7 Home Edition 64-bit

I installed PC Suite on my desktop with Windows 7 Home Edition 64-bit installed. I was able to eventually run PC Suite (granted it needed to run in XP SP2 compatibility mode) and sync my calendar on my W518a cell phone with PC Suite via Bluetooth communications. After I turned off my computer and restarted it, I could no longer open up PC Suite...its icon appears in my system tray with a red X over it as if it can't find the program.
The SonyEricsson website indicates PC Suite can run with Windows 7.
What is causing the problem I am having? How do I get this corrected?

I have downloaded and reinstalled the PC Suite software. Although it is not working as well as it should, as long as I have my cell phone on with Bluetooth enabled prior to clicking on the icon to open the application, it seems to work OK. Otherwise, when it opens, it just hangs and the only way you can close the program is to get into Task Manager and force it closed when its status is showing as "Not Responding". I also have found that just "closing" the PC Suite window does not close the application...you have to click on the option to "Exit the Application" otherwise you continue to have it in your system tray with a red X over the icon.

Where is the action menu in Pages?

Where is the action menu in Pagess? The "accepting changes" help says its all in the "Action Menu" but nothing is labled as the "action menu" Where is it?

I must confess, I didn't research the answer very well before my first response. It turns out that in the current version of the English edition of Pages User Guide, the phrase "Action Menu" appears 20 times. And to think I don't recall ever seeing it before.
My reading of the guide indicates that the "gear" icon with a disclosure triangle is an Action Menu. They are everywhere, in many contexts besides Tracking, and I always thought of them as the "gear" menu. Dale's graphic gets you close, but his capture isn't quite wide enough to catch the Action Menu icon. It's here:

Finder Icons

Guys...im a new mac user with a new macbook. Now that i have downloaded many apps for my finder, there are a lot of icons there. Personally, I prefer the icon style suppose to the others. Now most of you probably now that on your desktop you can "snap" your icons to the grid. I was wondering if you can do the same thing for the finder so the icons look in place suppose to trying to align them. Any help would be great

Yes you can snap your icons to the grid as follows :
1- open a finder window
2- on the top of the finder window you will see a little gear icon ( this gear icon is known as "action") click on the action gear icon
3- on the resulting drop down menu click on " show view options "
4- in the resulting view options box you will find the snap to grid option what you are looking for plus other view options that you might find usefull
5- Be sure to look at the top of the view option dialog box and you can choose "all windows" or "this window only" this option allows any view option you choose will be applied to the finder window your currently in or all finder windows on your mac account

How do I get rid of icons around Finder's window?

How do I get rid of icons (mere document shortcuts) around Finder's window (in the frame, the grey area). They were not there in the first place, just got there somehow. For example on the left side I have: documents, desktop, applications, movies (there are all good).... and a silly pdf document that shouldn't be there. I can't move it or bin it, it just stays there...
There are also more such icons (shortcuts to documents) across the top of that window: amongst the "View", "Action", "Dropbox" icons (which are all good), there are also shortcuts to pdf documents or folders of documents which were never meant to end up there... How can I clean this up?

My issue is resolved. Problem was that the EBS DB user that I was using in RPD didn't have access to all the required packages and because of that it was giving error that NQ_SESSION>ICS_SESSION_COOKIE has not variable definiation.
If you are using APPS user that you should not have any problem but if you are using other DB user and its not super user that check if the user have Execute privileges on the following packages:
FND_GLOBAL
fnd_run_function
fnd_function
APP_SESSION
this should resolve the issue. I hope you already know that both EBS and OBIEE should be on same domain and use same HTTP protocol like HTTPS or HTTP.

Photoshop CS6: Actions Keep Reappearing Even After I Delete Them

I keep dragging actions that I want to delete to the actions trash icon. But they just reappear after an hour or so it seems like. I don't close Photoshop down very often and I'm always exporting large batches from Lightroom.
Any ideas?

Both Windows and Mac OS likt to hide thing on users. So depending the OS version your using yon need to change system settings so that Finder or Windows explorer can see an display files hidden by default. I use a PC so windows and I use Windows XP and Windows 7. With Windows 7 my user id Photoshop actions preference file full Path is "C:\Users\My User Id\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings\Actions Palette.psp" Open finder or windows explorer display the folder its in. Then open Photoshop and delete a loaded action see if the file is updated. And if you delete a action from an action set be sure to save the action set so the action will be deleted from the action set saved on disk. If you delete an action set you may want to delete the set you have save to disk so it gone and can not be loaded in the future.
