PC Suite/no device recognition

I have downloaded the latest version of PC Suite 6.85
and installed on my PC (windows XP home edition service pack 2)
My phone is a Nokia 6233.
I follow the procedure and connect to the PC with the USB cable supplied. After a while I get the message that the device is not recognised.- No item appears on the devices available screen.
I have then checked that the download contained the necessary cable drivers, which it does.
I have removed and and re- installed and "Repaired'(3 times) with the"PC Connectivity Solution",and re- booted , to no avail
The device is still not recognised.
Can anyone offer any advice

  • PC Suite 7 - Music Recognition

    HELP PLEASE
Hopefully Im not being really stupid but I upgraded PC suite to 7 when I recently went from a n95 to n95 8gb usually when Im transferring music I put the CD in and music recognition software flashes up and tells me the artist, song titles etc, this is not happening in 7 just title 1 title 2 etc.  Is there a fix for this?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Finally an answer, for some unknown reason the boffins at Nokia have decided to remove gracenote recognition sofware from the latest version of Nokia meaning that you have to go round the world and back to add new music to your phone
Solution - I down graded to 7.1.18 which froze everytime I tried to open Music Manager there in lies yet another problem so I down graded yet again to 7.0.9.2 which is working a treat even though it did take an age to find a downloadable version.
Why they have changed this key component in the PC Suite is beyond me
Hopefully this post helps other peeps - apologies but i didnt save the site  I downloaded version 9.2 from so happy hunting

  • Pre-qualification Test Suites for Device Driver Verification

Pre-qualification test suites for verification of network and storage device drivers on Solaris(TM) 7 (Intel Platform Edition) are now available. These test suites are prototypes of test suites we plan to make available later this year. We are making the prototypes available for download
because IHVs (Independent Hardware Vendors) and third-party developers have told us these tests are useful in assessing the readiness of their drivers. Please note that these prototype test suites are unsupported. We welcome your comments, which can be submitted by e-mail to

The test suites (NETTests for network drivers, SUNWprtst for storage drivers) are on the Developers Tools page (http://soldc.sun.com/developer/support/driver/tools/). If you're a
registered user of the Solaris Developers Connection, log on and go straight to this page, then choose the network or storage test suite to download. If you haven't registered yet, go to

  • [ask]sync from nokia ovi suite to device

can i syncronize my message from nokia ovi suite to my cell phone?!

if you have already synced your sms messages from another nokia tonovi sjite, then it should sync your sms to your new nokia device.
if you are asking about syncing your email through ovi suite, then i do not believe it will.
you should set up your email on your nokia device as imap4 if you would like it to stay in sync with your email.

  • No connection with PC suite: USB device not suppor...

I got a new C2-02 and connected it to my PC with the USB cable which was in the package. But every time I connect the cable to my phone I got the mesagge 'USB device not supported. Unplug cable'
Therefor I cannot submit my phone to the list of devices in Nolia Suite.
I used different USB ports on my PC, but no luck.
    What is the problem here?

    Thnx Abi99 for reply
But sending it back to a c are centre is a bit of a hassle, isn't it. It's a new phone. There's no official Care centre in the Netherlands, except an very expensive 0900-xxx phone number. This sucks..hard..Any other suggestion is highly appcreciated.

  • Elitebook 2760p Ericsson hs2340 WWAN device recognition problem in Windows 8

    Hi,
I installed an ericsson hs2340 WWAN card in my Elitebook 2760P and it worked great, even in Windows 8.  Recently, I was managing my HP updates and flashed the bios update.  When the update was done my WWAN card was gone... well, mostly gone.  I can find it in device manager under "USB controllers" but it's in conflict (!).  There is apparently a problem with the device name (?) as I receive this message when I try to update the driver: "HP hs2340 HSPA+ Mobile Broadband Module USB Device" "The name is already in use as a service name or service display name"
I've tried uninstalling the device and re-installing the drivers, checked the bios settings, and fixed the problem with "Telephony" services post-update (Control panel->Administrator tools->Services->Telephony->turn on WWAN, set to "automatic"). I'd rather not have to reinstall the OS if I can avoid it, and I'm not even sure it would be helpful.  Anybody with experience or advice?  Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you very much.

    Hello Mike_81,
Your EliteBook is a Business model.  Your issue would be best answered on the HP Enterprise Business Community Forum
    Good luck!

  • X11 keyboard layout and weird device recognition

    Hi,
After recent upgrade (mostly gnome-3.6-related) on my laptop I decided to drop gnome-settings-daemon and use lightweight xsettingsd for my i3wm desktop environment. However, with gnome-settings-daemon gone my X keyboard layout configuration was gone as well. I tried to configure it using the following lines in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf:
    Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "evdev keyboard catchall"
    MatchIsKeyboard "on"
    MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
    Driver "evdev"
    Option "XkbModel" "evdev"
    Option "XkbRules" "evdev"
    Option "XkbLayout" "us,ru"
    Option "XkbVariant" ",winkeys"
    Option "XkbOptions" "grp:caps_toggle,grp_led:scroll,terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp"
    EndSection
This configuration works very well on my desktop computer, however, when I changed 10-evdev.conf on the laptop and restarted X11 (through restarting GDM or even rebooting), it didn't work. The layout was not switching on Capslock as it should have been. I even tried to use gnome-settings-daemon again, but it seems that they have changed something in it in 3.6 version, and my old configuration is not working anymore - launching gsd does not enable layout swithing. I couldn't manage to configure gsd again with gnome control center too - it now has completely different interface in keyboard settings.
However, issuing setxkbmap command with right options works, and layout switches correctly after it.
So, first part of my question: is there a way to drop setxkbmap command and use X11 config only?
My first action in debugging this was to look into Xorg.0.log, which brings me to the second part of my question. I found rather suspicious things there:
[ 27.070] (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Power Button" (type: KEYBOARD, id 6)

So, it looks like that keyboard options really were applied to the keyboard (last entry) - strange that in fact this is not right, and these options do not work without setxkbmap.
However, there are very strange entries too - somehow my webcam, power button, sleep button and video bus (!) were recognized as keyboard! Is this normal behavior? This does not seem to have any consequences, but still this does not feel right.
    Regards,
    Vladimir.

Apparently my request was less reasonable than I realized...  How about this:
In an xterm, enter setxkbmap us (this assumes us is your default keymap, so you can use the command history to reset it).  Next, run setxkbmap colemak.  If it doesn't return an error (I get Error loading new keyboard description) type something, then press Caps Lock.  I just need to know if you get a backspace effect.  That's it, now run setxkbmap us from your history.  Thanks.

  • Wireless USB Audio Device Recognition

The mini stereo connection is a no brainer, but did anyone set up a wireless sound stream using USB as an output from the AirportExpress? I have an ingenious Grace Design preamp & D/A model M902 with a mini USB input. When connecting the M902 via USB to the AE the MD902 no longer is visible on the host powerbook in audio set up as an output, as it normally is when hardwired with the computer. It seems as if the AE USB exclusively works with printers. Is this true?
    Please advise.

Yes, it's true, the USB port on the AX is for a USB printer only. (ref: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107857)

    Thomas,
In your WD project right-click on project node, open "Properties", switch to "WebDynpro References" then select "Library References". Add here library <b>com.sap.mobile.clientinfo</b>
If you add it in wrong place before, then remove it. If you add run-time dependecy for used DC, then remove it (just left build-time dependency).
To find corresponding library/service in future, run Visual Administrator, find your service/library in Services/Libraries tree and copy the value of <b>Service Name</b> or <b>Library Name</b> respectively.

  • XBR-55X850C - Latest Software problem or coincedence - USB device recognition and touchpad pairing

Recently purchase XBR-55X850C,After basic setup Touchpad and being able to recognize an external USB stick and drive seemed to work. Then did the recomended update software recently (think new version in last 2 weeks). Now I can not Pair my touchpad remote (tried many times) and the TV does not recognize when I have a USB stick or drive connected to it. I do not know if this is conicendence or is there a bug with the latest update. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated especially since there does not seem to be a true manual for this version of TV yet.

    Hi NunYah,
    Welcome to the Sony Community!
When the Touchpad Remote Control stopped working after updating the TV firmware, try any of the following.
Turn off and on the Bluetooth setting.
On the supplied remote, press the HOME button.
    Select Settings.
Under the NETWORK & ACCESSORIES category, select Bluetooth settings.
    Select Bluetooth.
    Select Off.
    Select On.
Unplug the power cord, then plug it back in.

  • E71x, Ovi Suite 3.0.0, and Outlook 2010 Contact Sy...

I was unsure whether to post this here, or in the E-Series Forums - I believe this is primarily an Ovi issue, though.
I've had this e71x for about four months now. In all that time, I still have yet to find a lasting solution to my contact sync problems. It's always been something - device recognition, drivers, software updates... just name it.
When Ovi 3.0. was released, I thought, 'Maybe this update will resolve the problems, finally'. Well, It did - for maybe two syncs. Then we were back to errors. Specifically, error code '8004fd02' (see attachment).
That's what I see every time I try to contact sync. It seems to be a problem with the online Ovi, because every time I sync via the Suite, then check Ovi.com, I have a stack of seemingly duplicated contacts. And I don't mean the same person, listed a couple times, with slightly varying detail labels: I mean the exact same entry, repeated half a dozen times, but only in Ovi.com. The only pattern concerning which ones get duplicated, as far as I can tell, is a recent update. Everywhere else my address book is, by and large, updated accurately, although Ovi and Outlook do seem to occasionally diagree on semantics.
That's about the gist of it, at the moment *crosses fingers*. I just need to straighten that out so I don't have a dozen or more extra contacts to delete online and on my phone each sync. The Suite is consistently recognizing my phone though, so that's progress...
    Specs
    Win 7 Pro x64
    Outlook 2010 32-bit
    Ovi Suite v. 3.0.0.284
    e71x software v. 03.28
    Thank You.
P.S. I don't need to hear for the umpteenth time about 'unplugging and reattaching the phone', or 'checking for software updates', or 'making sure I have the drivers installed'. I've had plenty of time to check the basics by now -

  • Different serial/model numbers in firmware than on actually device

    Hello,
This issue has me perplexed. I bought a iPod touch 5th gen and recently needed to get the digitizer fixed. I got my iPod back and can't get it recognized on pc partially (meaning I can plug it in and it charges slowly but thats all it does). Upon further investigation, I noticed that the serial and model number displayed in my iPod settings are completely different from the ones noted on the back of my iPod touch. It also is different from the one that is stored in my iTunes account for recognized products that I own. I am at my wits end on this and appreciate any guidance that could be offered on this issue.

The repairs were done through the extra warranty that I purchased. So I am not really sure where it was shipped to, all I know is that the claim was made through Asurion. However, after proper uninstalling and reinstalling of iTunes, the iPod is now operating normal. I am now trying to figure out why the serial and model numbers differ in Settings from what is printed on the back of the device. But for all intensive purposes, the device recognition issue has been fixed. I was trying to login yesterday to reply, but I guess the forums were under routine maintenance. Thank you for the reply.
