PC Suite / PC Sync not working

I upgraded my PC Suite to 6.85.14.1 and my N73 would no longer be recognised. After following advice from this site to 'repair' the software I can now transfer photos and manage sms etc however the PC Sync component still will not recognise that the phone is connected. I have used the 'repair' function on all Nokia software and have rebooted but still no success on the synchronisation.
I am running Vista on Toshiba laptop.
Any ideas?

how do you connect? Over Bluetooth? What Bluetooth sw (need version also) are you using?

  • Wifi Sync not working on iOS 6 and iTunes 10.7 with iPhone 4S

I am running Windows 7 64-bit but WiFi Sync is not working on either my iPhone 4S or my wife's iPhone 4S.  Worked fine before upgrading.  All settings look correct in iTunes 10.7 and on our iPhones 4S's.  Already tried uninstalling iTunes and all associated Apple programs (Bonjour, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Application Support, etc) and reinstalling iTunes but no help.  Temporarily disabling Norton Firewall did not help.  If I hook up either of our two 4S phones via USB wire, they Sync and Backup fine.  Just WiFi Sync not working.  Can't initiate sync from iPhones because button is ghosted stating it is waiting for PC to be present.  Phones don't show up under Devices in iTunes unless hard-wired via USB cable.  Any suggestions?

I am getting sync issues too (although on OSX) - seems like others are getting issues too:

Why does Corel Suite 10 does not work with Lion OS?

Either it's incompatible or it's a PPC-only application. PPC applications are no longer supported in Lion because there is no longer a Rosetta emulator. Contact Corel for support.

When I run these search filters I get results from my AD. When IdM runs the search they are coming back blank. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Chris

If you have changed environments... or for some other reason, your USN number on the AD resource could be lower than the number passed in the query.
Manually edit a user in AD, and then check the USN number of the object. See if it is lower then the query is passing. If so, you can manually edit the IAPI_ResourceName configuration object and alter the USN number passed in the query.

  • Ovi Suite + 5230 USB not working

    Preamble:
I recently connected my Nokia 5230 mobile phone to my PC via USB connection and loaded up Ovi Suite (2.2.1.23). Everything worked lovely. But alas! Both an Ovi suite update was available, as well as a update for the phone itself! So I downloaded the latest version of Ovi Suite (3.0.0.284).
Unfortunately, now Ovi Suite does not detect when I select "PC Suite" USB mode (selected on the phone screen). This essentially makes Ovi Suite useless.
So I followed some advice on other discussion pages (more on that later) and reinstalled the Ovi Suite. The problem persisted.
Here are some pictures to help you understand my problem:
    http://i.imgur.com/5IknF.jpg
The computer is able detect the phone is connected via USB. I can even browse the contents of the phone memory and memory card. Upon detecting the connected phone, and me pressing 'PC Suite' on the phone screen, it will show this:
    http://i.imgur.com/lV0rs.jpg
I cannot progress past this screen. The Ovi Suite simply does not recognise that I've selected that option on the phone.
    Defense:
I know what your thinking. "Just another USB thread". Well, I did in fact read plenty of threads on this forum before posting, and have spent the last few hours uninstalling and reinstalling Ovi Suite and drivers in various ways (as suggested in those threads), with no success.
The following is a list of forum threads which I have read and tried all the solutions found in each, and I have copied the solutions (which appear to have worked for other people), for your convenience:
    /t5/Nokia-Ovi-Suite/Ovi-Suite-PC-Suite-USB-Connection-Problem/td-p/682828
Solutions which did not work for me:
Could you please follow these steps and check?
    1. Disconnect your phone from PC if connected.
2 .Open Control Panel and go to ‘Programs and Features’
    3. From the list of available programs, choose ‘Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver’
    4. Click on the ‘Change’ button on top toolbar.
    5. In the setup dialog box that pops up next, choose ‘Repair’ and select ok. Wait for setup to complete.
    6. Restart the computer if prompted.
    7. Now connect your phone to the PC. Driver installation should complete and PC suite (hopefully) should detect your mobile properly now.
    1. Uninstall all nokia related applications like Ovisuite, pc suite, connectivity cable driver,pc connectivity solutions, nokia software updater etc. from ur PC.
    2. Restart your PC
    3. Now download and install the recent ovisuite from http://www.ovi.com/suite
    4. After installation, disconnect/disable your internet connection (this will make sure that the PC use the drivers which comes with ovisuite and  prevent the PC from downloading any new drivers from internet) and then connect your mobile and wait for drivers and support software installation.
    5. After drivers installation you can connect your mobile to ovisuite from ovisuite screen.

Solution which did not work for me:
    Hi GannonC,
Uninstall the following Programs, if any, from Control Panel -> Programs and Features or Add or Remove Programs.
    Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
    Nokia Ovi Suite
    PC Connectivity Solution
Later download and install the latest OVi Suite from the following location.
    http://www.ovi.com/suite
After OVi Suite installation, restart your PC, disconnect your internet from PC and connect your mobile to the PC. This is to prevent the PC searching for a new drivers from internet. OVi suite has all the required drivers for all the nokia phones available in market.
Once all the required drivers are installed automatically, you try connecting the mobile by selecting 'Connect your device' from the bottom left on the OVi suite screen. You should be able to connect your device now.
After connecting you can go ahead and update your maps/ download new country maps.
NOTE: before updating your maps/ download new country maps, you should have used your maps in you mobile atleast once.
Hope this will resolve your issue.
You can connect back your internet anytime after the drivers installation.

Choose Nokia Nokia Cable Connectivity then Change and repair
Do the same for PC Connectivity Solution - Change then repair

After re-starting the computer, I also followed this portion of a suggestion from another post (don't know if it made a difference or not):
"connected the device, waited till all the drivers were loaded.
    Then launched Ovi suite"
     (From /t5/Nokia-Ovi-Suite/E52-Sync-Error-8393f010-838c03ee/m-p/740481)
Ovi Suite then recognized my device and the sync appears to have gone smoothly.  I hope it works for you too!  It's ridiculous that it causes so many problems though--I've wasted many hours on something that should have installed correctly the first time.

    Zship's revelations:
So this is not really a problem for me. I have the working, older (2.2.1.23) version of Ovi Suite installed on my netbook, and sure enough, it works fine, I just tried it. I wont be updating Ovi Suite on it though. I also could probably just download the update via 3.5G using just the phone itself, but the problem remains that a simple software update has caused a critical connectivity problem between your software and hardware. Given that many Nokia customers would have less technical know-how than say, myself or anyone else on this forum, this problem is a quite likely a huge inconvenience to them, they probably wouldn't visit these discussions and spend 5 hours reinstalling software like I just did, and they surely would be thinking twice before purchasing another Nokia device in the future.
tl;dr - Nokia recommended update breaks connectivity between software and device, various attempts to fix seemingly simple problem don't work.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

SAME PROBLEM. And none of the many suggested solutions has worked for me yet. I want to thank all on this thread (and many others) for their help. I've learned a lot but I haven't gotten to the bottom of it. I think maybe Nokia needs to ... uh ... bloody well BOTHER TO FIX THIS ISSUE themselves, maybe. Like, cuz they're PAID FOR IT and I'M NOT. Harrumph.
I run Windows XP, and was on Media Player 11, but have rolled back to 9 and 10. I have a Nokia E 72. I have all the latest Nokia cable-drivers, PC Suite, OVI Suite, Connectivity software, etc.. The symptoms are as follows: when I plug in the phone by USB cable, the laptop won't recognize it. It says "USB device faulty" or "failed to load properly" and refuses to get the hardware into its brain. The Device Manager shows only a "Unknown Device" which I cannot install drivers onto. Taking the extra media-card out of the phone doesn't make any difference -- nothing I've done will make the computer recognize the main (built-in) card in the phone. I can't browse to it via any sort of populate / repopulate disk drive, or any other method of connecting it.
As I understand it, this is some conflict with the phone and the new concept of MTP. Media Transfer Protocol confuses the computer, causing it to kind-of think that the phone is kind-of a media player, when in fact it's a whole lot more. So, the "parent" doesn't get loaded, then the rest of the phone doesn't get loaded, then it kind-of tries to load some MTP but fails, etc.. If I could browse to the phone through a non-Nokia connection I'd be happy to do so in order to implement any of a number of the suggestions above. But I can't get the computer to recognize the phone when the phone is plugged in by USB, regardless of all the solutions above.
The problem began a few days ago. It just up and wouldn't recognize the phone. I hadn't installed any updates that I knew of on either item, but it's possible that my memory is faulty and a newer version of this or that snuck in there and screwed it all up. I have tried a serious roll-back to a Restore Point about six weeks old, but that didn't solve the problem. This suggests to me that the problem is phone-resident, since the rollback was to a computer-based Restore Point and I don't have phone rollback capability.
This seriously hampers me. PC Suite, OVI, and some future version of Nokia Suite, will all be useless to me unless Nokia accomplishes the stunning act of supporting their software. I won't hold my breath. Just in general, you'd think that plug-and-play of a phone into your computer would be a lot simpler. Just take the cord -- stick it in the phone; stick it in the computer -- and shazam, you're plugged in. But NOOOOOO we're on NOOOOOOKIA ... Now I know why Microsoft wanted to buy them so badly. They knew they'd all get along and have the same assumptions about software -- that it doesn't really matter whether it works reliably on a user's computer at his home, as long as it works in theory on some programmer's ideal personal computer in Seattle once in a rare while. Nokia? Meet Microsoft. Microsoft? You and Nokia will get along juuuust fiiiine ...

  • ICloud sync not working with BBQ10

    Hello.
Having recently swapped my iPhone 5 to BBQ10 I have been hit by an enormous amount of hassle. The main thing being the ability to sync my contacts and calender from my Mac on to the Q10.
I have followed the online instructions and it is not working. All I get is a white screen where something tries to load and nothing happens. I can't delete the account because then the white screen comes back with the loading logo. Then I have to reinstall the entire phone and start all over again. What am I doing wrong? I have the latest firware on the Q10 along with the latest Mac OS (10.8.4)
I am not a pure amateur but everything was really easy on the iPhone 5. It's a shame, I really want this to work but the Q10 is giving me no joy whatsover at the moment.
    Please help!

  • Wi-Fi Sync not working Windows 7 64 bit iOS 5 Itunes 10.5

The computer where Itunes is installed is hard wired to a switch which is connected to my wireless router. I am unable to sync wirelessly to my Iphone 4. I have iOS 5 installed and am running itunes 10.5. I connected iPhone to computer with the USB cable for initial sync and checked sync this iphone over wi-fi under iphone > summary > options in itunes. I can use the apple remote to control my itunes library so I do know that I am connected on the network, yet Wi-Fi sync will not work.  My hardware configuration is as follows Windows 7 Profeesional 64 bit, Cisco Lynksis switch, Netgear WNDR 3700 router, I am running Norton 360 but I had completely removed it and tried syncing but that made no difference. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Update
After trying ever tip posted in these discussion threads (firewall, restarting itunes, resetting phone, disabling and re enabling UPnP on router, etc. etc.) the only thing that worked was uninstalling itunes and then re-installing. At first the phone appeared after unplugging right away but then disappeared after 5 minutes. After restarting itunes it seems to have fixed itself and I couldn't be happier. Anyone having problems with the wireless sync should try uninstalling itunes and then re-installing. It worked for me.

  • Firefox sync not working correctly

I set up sync and used my favorite gmail address (sun-).
It seems I should have used the gmail address I set up my google/gmail account with ( allu-)
Now it seems I have sync on my computer, and my tablet, but I'm not sure. I know this sounds weird, but when I have sync set up on my computer, and I go to pair a device (my tablet) I have sync numbers in both my computer, and my tablet, and I am unable to erase the 3 boxes to add in numbers to either device.
I still would like to add my android phone, but I would like to fix this problem.
I guess what I would like to do is delete/uninstall my 'sync' account so I can start new with my google/gmail account (allu-).
I thought i did this, but the same thing came up, numbers in both sync set up pages on my computer, and tablet.
So maybe I have this entirely wrong, and I need to look at it from another perspective, but whatever reason, it is becoming frustrating because I need this, want this, and can't make it happen. So I would like, no need some help with this, so I can coordinate all my devices with Firefox.
I am thinking this is possible with what I read, but like I said I am definitely missing something, or I have made some mistake, that can't be fixed, because that is what I seem to have done. HELP

That seemed to work. I have not tried to sync my other devices yet, but I am hopeful.
It almost looks like you are saying the Aurora version 28 is a version to switch to, when it is released.
Will I be notified by Mozzila when this comes out?
I know I might be taking advantage of you with these questions, but it is hard to find good answers without spending lots of time searching here, there and everywhere, so to speak.
So one more question, how come my password saving has stopped. It worked in the past but as of late, it sporadically asked me if I want to say updated passwords, and then it doesn't. I have a few sites, that use to have there passwords saved, and now I get nothing, very frustrating.
So is there anything I can do to get my passwords back.
I have switched from Ice Dragon when that didn't do well with passwords, then tried Chrome, I liked that as well, but then I realized that wasn't doing as good as Firefox did for me, so now I am back to Firefox, and that is not working very well either
Thank you for what you do.................................

The photos and albums that show up in iTunes when I select the iPhone are old and have been deleted from Aperture. Most of them are sample bird photos that came with Aperture. Those are long gone but they still show up in iTunes and my new albums don't. iPhoto sync works though. Any suggestions on what to try would be appreciated.

If I had this problem, I'd try shaking things up by following instructions to create a new Aperture library, and then checking whether iTunes reflects the projects of the new library. If so, there's a good chance the problem will correct itself when Aperture is instructed to open the main library.
I'd also see if there's an old library on my hard drive (with the demo bird photos) and I would delete that library and check whether iTunes now lists no projects at all.

  • HELP! Mail sync not working because of secret code (???)

    Hi all,
My iPhone 3G is syncing with my Exchange Server (SBS 2003) only for the calendar and the contacts. The email is not syncing but at least the iPhone is trying to get the emails. It searches for a while and then prompt me for a password. The exact message is:
"Incorrect Secret Code / Enter the password for 'srenou'".
'srenou' is the name i've given to my exchange setup on the iphone.
    Two weird things:
    a) the iphone/exchange setup has been correctly done and the domain account given for connection is working fine as it authenticated me correctly and gets contacts/calendar items ok.
    b) when prompted, if I type in my domain account password, it does not work and prompt me again and again and never sync the emails.
I'm guessing the solution is not complex, but I can't figure it out, could you help me please?
    Thanks,
    SR.

I found the solution looking at the Deployment guide. The answers was to remove the domain name from the account information on the iPhone Exchange setup. So instead of domain/username, I just have now username and the emails are syncing fine.

  • Pc Suite: File Manager not working

I can't access file systems on my E50 using PC Suite's file manager, neither via Bluetooth nor via cable.
The message is something like "Can not connect to mobile phone" (Original German message: 'Verbinden zum Telefon nicht möglich'). When I tried the Video Manager I got something like 'Error while reading the file system of your mobile phone" (German message: 'Fehler beim Lesen des Dateisystems des Telefons').
Local access to file systems on the phone works fine. Resetting the whole phone, reformatting the SD card, and
updating PC Suite Support on the phone didn't solve the problem.
When I first got my E50 and had PC Suite 6.x, everything worked fine.
Win XP SP3 (Microsoft Bluetooth stack), PC Suite 7.1.18.0 German, Nokia E50 (latest firmware)
    Any ideas?
    Torsten

When it was working, I would open up windows explorer, browse to the Inbox folder under messages under Phone Browser, select all the messages and just drag and drop to c drive on my PC. then I would delete the messages using my phone. I am using IrDA to connect my 6233 to my PC. It has worked before, I have saved 100s of messages in this manner. I upgraded to the latest PC Suite, it worked once (because the name of the messages saved included the first few words of the message itself), i deleted the messages from my phone, when i reconnected the old messages still appear under pc suite, but these are not on my phone. i deleted the messages under pc suite and now can no longer view the messages on my phone. i am able to browse images and the memory card and phone memory but when selecting the Messages Inbox under PC Suite it always errors with the infamous 'Operation could not be performed' Thanks for your help!

  • Fitbit Aria Scale Sync not working

I had my Fitbit Aria scale set to sync with HealthVault and it worked for quite some time.
It stopped working sometime in April and I tried fixing it the other day.
I verified via the Fitbit website that they are sending data to HealthVault.  Latest data listed as sent was today.
I also disconnected and reconnected it from HealthVault to see if that was the issue.
After logging into the HealthVault site, it still didn't show any new data since April.
How can I get it syncing again?

What I have personally found is that my FitBit account only syncs when I manually log in to FitBit.com, go to the Settings>Sharing page, scroll down to the HealthVault section, and click the "Post" link.
I've navigated to Settings > Sharing... there is no "Post" link in the HealthVault section.
Here's the link to my post on the matter though.
