PC suite transfer settings

I am using a computer with this profile:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002
Service Pack 3
PC Suite Version - 7.1.40.1
Connection - Cable
For my nokia 5220 Xpress Music phone, i recently updated the PC Suite programme to the above version. but now when i transfer music to my phone, it does not convert the mp3 file to aac 96 kbps like it used to. (even though i have changed the settings to aac 96 kbps.) can someone help?

Hi Jeff, thanks a lot for answer. The problem is solved, I finally found there is a separate address to be logged into for downloading after changing pc: Adobe Licensing.com. Clearified this after talking to an Adobe staff member. It is generally difficult to manoeuvre in the Adobe system, time demanding loops via chat pages and help/FAQ's.

Creative Suite Color Settings

I have Photoshop CS4. When I try to access the Creative Suite Color settings item from the Edit menu in Bridge I get an error message saying that Color Suite Management is not enabled because a qualifying product has to be launched at least once. Is not Photoshop, which I have launched many times, a qualifying product?

I have received this message only when I tried to use Adobe 1998 rgb when ever I used North American general purpose setting it synchronized.SINCE THIS IS A OLDER POST DID ANYONE PROVIDE AN ANSWER THAT WOULD HELP US BOTH. HELP NEED TO SYNCH TO ADOBE 1998 setting.

Creative Suite Colour Settings

I was asked from the illustrator section to drop this discussion here.
I have completely bought and installed Indesign CS5.5, Photoshop CS5 Extended and Illustrator CS5. The Adobe Bridge was of course installed with each of these packages. Now I try to setup one colour setting in Illustrator save it as required, than I start the Bridge, got to edit -> Creative Suite Colour Settings (just for synchronization) and I get a nice Error message, telling me that Colour Management can not be enabled.
My question now, do I really have to buy all theses software packages again in an adobe creative suite edition, or is it also possible to synchronize these settings if one buys this software applications separately?

Not sure I follow you here. Nothing stiops you from assigning the same profiles in every app. Yes, the gloabl synchronization is only available in suites, but in the end it's just a comfort feature, nothing essential that prevents you from setting up unified CM at all and considering, that you probably only do it once and then never again, a very minor thing...

Deploy Creative Suite Color Settings

Hi all
Does anybody know how to deploy the Creative Suite Color Settings?
I have created a deployment-script of Adobe CS4 Standard. I have also created a CFS-file (Adobe Color Settings File), with the color settings that I want my users to use.
Today Im copying the setting-file into c:\program files\common files\adobe\color\settings\recommended on each client computer, and then the users opens Creative Suite Color Setting in Adobe Bridge and selects my settings.
I wish to have my settings selected as default, so the user doesnt have to do anything. Is that possible?

I was wondering if you had any success with this at all?
I am in exactly the same boat as you and hope you had more luck than I have the last few months. I have created a script like you that drops the CFS and ICC profile into the right paths, I even got to the point where I found out what folder holds the colour settings (Documents Settings\USERNAME\local settings\ application data\adobe\color)
However when I move that folder (by script or manually) to default user or any other user folder under the same path it doesn't seem to be Syncing, it is the Defualt option in Bridge but doesn't apply until you click Apply which means users need to do something which I don't trust them to :)
If I open INDD or PS before I open Bridge (or after without Applying) the standard settings are still applied.
Any help would be much appreciated

Undo creative suit color settings?

Is there a way to undo creative suit color settings in my Bridge CS5??
Now it automatically applies custom change (I'm guessing color profile) to my raw files every time I open them.

What do you mean by "is only available via Suite"? What is "qualifying product"? Do I have to buy something more?

Transfer settings between cf 9 standard

what is the best way to transfer settings between cf 9 standard servers?

I've never encountered this problem, I'm not using CF9 or SQL 20008; but here are some things to investigate.
1. Are there any differences in the way your datasources are configured in CF between the two servers. For example, do you have the "Maintain Connections" option enabled on one server's datasource, but not the other?
2. You might try using an alternate JDBC driver to see if this issue is caused by the drivers. Microsoft produces as JDBC driver for SQL server and I think there may be open source options.

Transfer Settings Between 2 6230I's?

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a way of transferring the settings between 2 6230i's via Bluetooth or IR? My grandpa’s 6230I broke so I found him another one on eBay but he's not going to be able to configure it himself, so I want to transfer the configuration changes (Not sure if there are any) that he's made on his old device to his new one.
I'd like to avoid a computer if possible; partly because I don't have a data cable but even if I did use Bluetooth I really don't want to have to install pc suite just to do this.
Any pointers at all would be great.

Thanks for your question and welcome to the forum.
The easiest way to transfer everything from one device to another would, in case of the 6230i, be to download and install PC suite on your PC, create a complete backup from the original and restore that to the new one.
Besides this option there is really no option to copy all data from one to the other. What you might want to consider would be to create a restore point in Windows before installing PC suite, then uninstall it when finished and restore the created restorepoint. That way your PC would be back at the same point it was before.

PC Suite Transfer Music Application

When I click on transfer music in PC Suite 6.70.22 it comes up with an errort report message saying it had a problem & had to close. Have tried uninstalling & reinstalling many times but it made no difference. Strangely everything else works!!
The phone is 6280 I am running Windows XP Pro Service pack 2 and I am connecting through the USB2 cable. The computer system has 1GM memory, AMD3300 processor and the phone has the original SD card which has 53MB free memory.
The version was downloaded several times to update the one with the phone, 6.6.18 which also did not work.

You should consider all the migration notes from the releases in the middle of 4.6c and ECC 600.

How to transfer settings from WRT310N (in use) to AC1750 (EA6500) (new)?

Is there an easy, automated process to transfer existing router configuration/settings from a (currently in use) WRT310N to a new AC1750 (EA6500) (brand new, not currently in use)?

I agree with FurryNutz. You need to manually configure the settings to the new router. The Linksys EA6500 has the Linksys Smart Wifi firmware and has a different user interface.

PC Suite - Sync - Settings Dialog Does not Appear

Installed PC Suite. Selected Synchronise and the Synchronise dialog appears. The Settings dialog does not automatically appear as stated in Help. Pressing the "Settings" button does not cause the Settings dialog to appear. Pressing the Synchronise button also does nothing.
Have tried to uninstall and re-install PC Suite, have tried 6.7 and the latest 6.8 on the the website.
The very first time I tried this, the settings dialog did appear, when I started clicking through the settings to choose what I wanted, the dialog froze and eventually the application had to be killed using Task Manager.
Version info:
Windows XP Pro Ver 2002
Service Pack 2
PC Suite Version - 6.7 (also tried 6.8)

I have exactly the same problem - i have installed - un-installed - re-installed and used the nokia registry cleaner tool - still with same problems ovccuring. The strange thing is, i have used this device (Nokia 6230i) on my pc before. (Fijitsu Siemens Laptop).
I have tried to get working using cable and bluetooth device - they all function as they should every other way -but will not allow me to click the settings button and sync - the button is enabled, but just does no action when clicked.
I have done as you requested miksu - and it succesfully connects - what now?

Best way to transfer settings from CS5.5 to CS6

I am trying out CS 6 Creative Cloud and want to copy my settings from CS5.5. Is there any easier way to do this than re-creating them through the UI? It would take such a long time to re-enter my preferences, shortcut keys, search queries, window layouts, &c, manually that the trial period would be over before I finish!

Look at Replace Your Preferences for a list of things you should be able to back up and transfer easily. The only thing that might casue a problem that I can think of is custom shortcut sets, but I think CS5.5 and CS6 are similar enough that they won't casue abberant behavior (the same was not true going from CS4 into CS5).
