PC Suite uninstall problem

I recently had to back up and restore my laptop. The PC Suite programme reappeared (I'd uninstalled it ages ago) and I wish to remove it as I'm using PC Companion now. When I run uninstall the following error code appears (see below). I have run the disk for PC Suite thinking that the programme might have been corrupted but it tells me I already have it installed. I  have uninstalled PC Companion and ran the PC Suite disk again and it still tells me I have PC Suite installed. What can I do??

I also want to uninstall PC Suite now that I have PC Companion. I get the same message and PC Suite is NOT uninstalled.
What can I (we) do?

I have been using my own laptop and that of my daughter and then our home PC to install the PC Suite 7.0, only to find the the message 'PC Suite encounters problem and needs to close' continuously appearing. I have taken every remedial actions as suggested in the FAQ and Discussions page of Nokia as well as that of Windows but none seems to have worked. Is PC Suite 7.0 really compatible? How do I can get back to earlier version of PC Suite?

    Hi azhar1646,
What is your PC? Operating system, Service Pack 1/2/3, 32/64 bit????
If your pc met the system requirements for Nokia PC Suite 7.0.x.x, First do have a backup of your PC registries and phone data. Uninstall Nokia PC Suite, PC Connectivity solution, nokia connectivity cable driver, nokia flashing cable driver etc., Run PC Suite cleaner from your pc to remove unwanted registries from your PC. Install
latest pc suite from nokia.com/pcsuite. Reboot your pc. Then connect your phone with the pc

  • CS1 Install/Uninstall Problems ?

I can't uninstall CS1, nor can can I reinstall Photoshop from CS1, which is presently not installed. My OS is Windows Vista Home Premium. I am out of warranty and Adobe will not provide suppport. I have read all I can find about FLEXnet licensing suspecting there is a connection. When I try to either install or uninstall CS1, I get an error message from Microsoft saying that "Adobe CS1 installer has stopped working". There is no other information unless I open the Adobe File folder for Photoshop from CS1 that I saved to my desktop. I can initiate the install procedure from that folder, but when prompted for the original product serial number a message states that the serial number I have provided is invalid. I have talked with Adobe however, and their records indicate that I have a valid serial number.
I have gone to "Services" using the administrative tools in the control panel and tried setting FLEXnet Licensing on manual,  then on automatic, and finally disabling it temporarily. I have gone to the Start Up menu on the desktop and entered "msconfig" in the search box and gone to services where FLEXnet was at first "stopped" and is now "running".
On some forums there are recommendations to first copy and save FLEXnet to another area of the hard drive, then delete it altogether from its original location, and then uninstall ALL Adobe software in the computer before reinstalling everything. Other contributors strongly caution the removal of FLEXnet, and some users have complained of ongoing problems after deleting FLEXnet. Firstly, I'm not sure I can figure out how  to copy and save FLEXnet to another drive, and secondly I'm afraid of the possible results. Even if I can accomplish those tasks I don't know if that procedure will then allow me to either uninstall the portion of CS1 still in my computer, or reinstall the Photoshop that presently won't install. By the way, all the CS1 programs that remain in my computer are operational. Photoshop is the only missing component.
I am not well versed in technology, and much that I read in the forums is only partially comprehensible to me. If you have the patience and knowledge to help me unravel this mess I would love your help. Thanks. Harrison

Thank you Bob. It was very nice of you to write. I have been using CS1 with Vista since Vista came out. I'm aware that compatibility is considered a significant issue. Fortunately, I never had any problems until now, although I would have replaced CS1 with a more recent and compatible version if money were not part of the equation for me.
Adobe told me that if I bought the CS5 they would help me straighten out any issues now caused by the CS1, but otherwise they would not help. I did not think to ask if Adobe has designed CS5 to be compatible with Vista, but I will. I may buy the more recent version out of necessity, but it does not seem unreasonable to me that Adobe should help someone with a valid serial and registration number access their software regardless of warranties. The problem at hand seems to be a glitch in the licensing application provided by FLEXnet that I presume protects Adobe from unauthorized use of their products. I am wondering how much this situation actually has to do with system compatibility, given that I have been using the software for roughly two years with Vista, or whether it is simply that Adobe's FLEXnet licensing shield can work against legitimate users under certain circumstances. Adobe did not mention FLEXnet to me, but I would like to know one way or the other if FLEXnet is at the core of the problem.
Thank you again Bob for writing. I may wipe my OS clean and reload everything. I suspect the CS1 might work then, but I do realize that CS1 is old by technological standards, in spite of the fact that I would gladly continue to use it. I am among those people that find the cost of keeping current very difficult, and I find it exasperating that so many products and services become obsolete very rapidly when considering their relative cost. Have a nice weekend.
    Best Regards,
    Harrison

  • Premier Elements 10 install/uninstall problems (including upgrades)

Unfortunately, Premier elements 10.0 has several installer bugs as it relates to machines wiht previous versions of Premier Elements installed.
    1. It doesn't upgrade the old version of Premier Elements. Doesn't notice. Doesn't tell you. Doesn't warn up of the upcoming problems.
    2. If you later choose to uninstall the older version of PE, then that PE corrupts the install of PE 10. Just for starters, the premier element (prel) files are no longer associated with Premier Elements.
    3. If you then choose to re-install or do a "repair" install of PE 10...you can't. Adobe doesn't have that. 5 years after its possible. Do you have to completely uninstall PE 10 and then reinstall it.
I am having a horrible first day experience with Premier elements 10.

Helo Install_Guru. I believe you misread my post. I never said in my post that you couldn't launch PE10. Instead here are the repro steps and behaviors:
    setup:
    Lenovo T61 laptop w/ T7700 core 2 duo, 8gb ram, 300gb hd
Windows 7 Ultimate x64 sp1 with all current windows updates
    Microsoft Security Essentials
Premier Elements 8.0 (with the incremental PE8 update installated)
    repro
purchase PE10 upgrade from the Adobe online store and download the two files (exe and 7z) using the alternate method
Run the exe. After it decompresses, check to allow it to launch the installer
Proceed to have PE10 installed in US-English. Provide the serial number when prompted.
    Reboot if needed
Verify that PE10 runs. It did successfully for me.
Using control panel, uninstall PE8. Choose for it to uninstalled dependent software
    Reboot if needed
Try to open a premier elements project file
    result:
Fail. Windows has no association for the file and prompts you to search the internet
    expected:
    PE10 to open the project
    Continued repro:
    9. Go to windows control panel to repair the install
    10. Select PE10. Click uninstall/change
    Result:
    Prompts me to uninstall PE10.
    expected:
Have a selection to repair or uninstall the install. Repairs are a technology available for many years now. Also helps customers when they don't have the install media nearby.
    Continued repro:
    11. Run the setup via the 2 files downloaded from the Adobe store.
    12. Select to launch the setup
    Result
    Prompts me to uninstall PE10
    Expected:
Have a selection to repair or uninstall. Sometimes vendors can have more options using the install media, yet there is still only the uninstall option.
    Continued repro:
    13. Choose to uninstall PE10. Note, that the deregister text in the uninstall is vague as it applies to this repro case of re-installing
    14. reboot if needed
    15. Using original two files from adobe store, start the setup
    16. Run the setup via the 2 files downloaded from the Adobe store.
    17. Select to launch the setup
    18. Proceed to have PE10 installed in US-English. Provide the serial number when prompted.
    19. Reboot if needed
    20. Verify that PE10 runs. It did successfully for me.
    Notes:
The customer (me) was never prompted to read the README file. In fact, it is rather hard to know one even exists. You have to manually open the folder created on your desktop (by the 2 file decomp process) and within it open the readme folder and with it find the filename that you can understand. In short, a user will never read the README file because they are not prompted during the setup. Instead, the Adobe Store 2 file setup process guides me with the steps to not read me by the default of Launch Setup, hiding it two folders down on the desktop, etc.
The README file has a section on Compatibility with other versions of PE. Hurrah! However, the content in that section is poor. Sad.
The README file says, "You can have previous versions of Adobe Premiere Elements installed on your computer, but do not run them simultaneously." When I read this, it implies that if I somehow installed PE10 on my computer while a previous one was installed, then I can never ("do not run them simltaneously") use that previous again or something bad happens. If this is true, then don't allow PE10 to install while a previousl version is installed. Halt the PE installer giving that reason. However, if that README note means that I can run PE10 and PE8 (for example) on the same computer but I just can't have both processes open and running at the same time, then the README file needs to be more explicit in the warning. As it is not, it is too vague. Be explicit and generous with your wording.
The README file has no warnings of what happens when PE8 (for example) is uninstalled after PE10 was installed. If this is not a tested or supported scenario, then write that in your README file. If it is tested and supported, then you have the bug I documented above in the repro.
In step 3 of the repro above, I strongly suggest you detect any previous install of PE and warn the user. Allow the user to see the README file *right then* so they can make an informed choice. Tell the user that there are uninstall problems and that they will need to fix it up or do the 30+ minute uninstall/install procedure I had to do.
I hope that this can provide you some insight.

I also have detected the problem. It is not any physical malfunction according to me. It occures with my phone when I unplug it and plug it again. • Installing AND Uninstalling problems

    Hi.
My problem started when I was trying to install one of the CS4 premiums. When I was going through and selecting everything I wanted to install, Photoshop CS4 Extended would not select. I clicked a little drop down arrow that said that the reason is because it is already installed. This is not my problem...
I thought it was weird because I had never, ever before had any version Photoshop installed on this computer. But I opted to simply install and then uninstall a Photoshop CS4 Extended trial to see if that would help. After downloading a hefty installer file, I attempted to install it. At the end of the installation I received the following error:
Adobe Photoshop CS4 English Language Pack
    Error:
    Error 2.
    LangPack (English) for DeviceCentral
    Error:
    Error 2.
Crap. But I decided to try to uninstall it anyway. At the end of the uninstallation it says that there were some errors uninstalling some of the components. "For more information see below." And then there's nothing below. What.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it several times. What the Christ, guys? Am I forever doomed to have an incomplete, non-working Photoshop on my computer? Is there any way I can simply delete all the files and remove it from the registry?

So, I tried installing the suite again and the installer actually finished but,
The following products failed to install correctly and need to be reinstalled:
    Adobe Encore CS4
    Adobe Flash CS4
Optional components of the following products failed to install correctly:
    Adobe After Effects CS4
    Adobe Contribute CS4
    Adobe Dreamweaver CS4
    Adobe Fireworks CS4
    Adobe Illustrator CS4
    Adobe InDesign CS4
    Adobe Photoshop CS4
    Adobe Premiere Pro CS4
That's a lot of thing... When I click 'More Information,' I get this log:
    Adobe Encore CS4
    Error:
Error 1603. Error 1335.The cabinet file 'AdobeEncore4All1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.

Error 1603. Error 1335.The cabinet file 'AdobeBridge3All1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.
In case you need to know, I'm running on Windows Vista (non 64-bit) and I've already run the cleanup script beforehand.

  • PC Suite installation problems

Several weeks ago I posted a problem regarding the installation of v6.7 over the 6.6 version I was using quite happily. When trying to install 6.7 my pc (running XP) would just freeze, requiring a reboot.
A suggestion was made to uninstall 6.6 first, then install 6.7 - 6.6 was removed but 6.7 wouldn't install so I was left without PC suite at all! When 6.8 came out that wouldn't install either.
I then managed to find an earlier version (6.1) which I was able to install so connectivity was restored, but all attempts to install anything later continued to fail.
    I now have a 6233 which PC Suite 6.1 won't talk to because it wasn't designed to (I previously had a 6230).
So, what is the solution? Not surprisingly I don't to clean the hard drive and reinstall XP if I can possibly help it, but what else can I do?

Yes, and still the same problem. The last attempt made the pc freeze when getting to the licence acceptance screen.
It also uninstalled 6.1 which I didn't want it to do, but thankfully I've been able to locate it again and it's reinstalled.

These are tricky because it is more about the state of your PC software than Nokia, so there and hundreds of root cause candidates for your problem.
    Some of these COULD help:
    A) Update your PC to XP Service Pack 2 from windows update
if you don't want to or cannot do that
    B):
1)Uninstall any version of Nokia PC Suite from Start-Settings -Control Panel - Add/Remove programs.
    2)Restart your PC
    3) Run registry cleaner from:
    http://europe.nokia.com/nokia/0,,84592,00.html
    4) Restart PC
    5) Download latest PC Suite from www.nokia.com/pcsuite
(when downloading, choose "save" (don't choose "run") and save the download file to a location in your PC that you can remember
    6) Stop any anti-virus program that you have running (make sure you don't have internet connection to your PC when you do that)
    7) Double click the downloaded file and start the installation process, follow the instructions carefully
    8) PC Suite installed successfully?
    9) If not, open google and type something like: Windows XP Error 1402.COULD NOT OPEN KEY (you get lots of links)

  • Outlook Express and Ovi Suite syncing problems

    Hi,
I just installed the Ovi Suite for my new N5230 phone.
I tested syncing contacts for the first time from Outlook Express to the phone and my account at Ovi.com via Ovi Suite. All went fine.
However, I undertook a major edit of all my Outlook Express contacts data (thankfully backing it up afterwards on my PC) but when I went to use the sync fucntion in Ovi Suite again I was not given an option of (a) whether to merge or replace or (b) where to start sync from if not a merge. Consequently my phone and Ovi.com contacts lists filled up with duplicates through a botched merge. Where a contact was deleted in Outlook Express no Sync Conflict message appeared to ask me if I wanted to delete the same entry in Ovi.
When I deleted all the contacts in Ovi Suite and tried to sync again my Outlook Express contacts list was deleted! Thankful for the backup before I started this waste of a Sunday afternoon.
So basically, is it the case that if I want to use Ovi Suite and Ovi.com for contacts then I have to use Ovi.com as the master list and not my contacts list in Outlook Express on my PC? If the software simply merges data all the time how the heck am I meant to delete a contact from all three storage areas?
    Any advice appreciated.
    Bill

Well for anyones information. Syncing with ovi suite.
I have successfully got ovi suite working.
For those with problems this is what I did. I have vista.
    1. I uninstalled all programs from nokia.( ovi suite using the online uninstaller. Pc suite using the installed uninstall program.
then i ran pc suite cleaner.
    2. using search for nokia then using advanced search for all nokia folders remaining (important to use advanced search or you will miss some of the folders and files. Then deleted them. Some you may have to change the user permissions to delete them. It is important to delete these as they hold data and i think might be one of the conflicts stopping sync working.
    3. Delete any remaining files except bookmarks pics etc.
now there should be nothing on the pc.
Then download and run ccleaner. Cleaner and registry.
    Reboot pc
    Then download ovi suite.
A wizard might pop up but if not start ovi suite and connect your phone. I turned bluetooth off and used usb.
The phone will download settings. You can select pc suite on the sync settings in the phone. not ovi.com.
the program is good and worth the trouble. It saves your messages and contacts as well as syncing contacts and calendar with your required program, also bookmarks can be saved with firefox and explorer in your phone folder in favourites. It creates the folder. To transfer bookmarks from pc to phone ensure they are in this folder.
This took me a lot of reboots and time with a few calls to nokia and i am still waiting for their callback!!!
It also works fine on my xp computer too.

  • CS4 Design Premium Suite Uninstall Error

I work in an enterprise network environment and am responsible for making 1 click installs of software programs.  I have created an install package for Photoshop CS4 Extended using Uberinstaller.  I needed to include uninstall functions for previous versions for Photoshop, (CS2, CS3, CS4 (individual and as part of the suite)).  I have scripted the uninstalls of CS2/3 and the individual install of Photoshop CS4.  When I try and script the uninstall of just the Photoshop in the CS4 Suite, the adobe setup returns error code 7.  Here is part of my script where I am having problems.
    "C:\program files\common files\adobe\installers\"that long string of random looking characters"\setup.exe" --uninstall=1 --mode=silent --deploymentFile="C:\photoshop.cs4.removal.xml"
This line works for the individually installed photoshop cs4, but not the photoshop that is installed as a suite.  I have changed the "that long string of random looking characters" to reflect the different path for the "setup.exe".  I can see setup.exe file running in task manager, but after a minute it ends, and I get the error code.  The deploymentFile is the same as the one I used for the individual install of photoshop, since the adobe payload code is the same.  Any ideas on why it won't uninstall?
    Thanks.

I met the same problem as yours, have you fix this problem? and can you teach me how?

  • How to troubleshoot CS6 uninstall problems?

After migrating to a new MacBook Pro (unfortunately without first deactivating source computer Adobe suite), I am now seeking to uninstall Adobe software on new MacBook Pro. Uninstallation repeatedly fails. I used CC cleaner tool, but no CS6 products can be found on my system. Also, this issue began due to licensing problems (Error: 213:5).

The cleaner can find nothing because in the technical sense nothing is there. You screwed yourself with the pointless migration procedure. If you don't want CS6, simply trash it, otherwise you licensing issues may require starting from scratch and reinstalling the whole operating system and installing CS6 the proper way.

  • Uninstalling problems

    Hi,
I was having a problem getting Photoshop CS3 to work on my new iMac so i decided to uninstall by dragging the icon into the trash and deleting it. I then installed Adobe Creative Suite CS# (which includes Photoshop). The problem i have now is that everytime i try to install it says that Photoshop is already installed..I searched in spotlight but could not find any traces of it...should i be looking somewhere else??
    Would appreciate some help.
    Thanks a lot!!
    Chris

    Hello,
Just dragging the Photoshop CS3 icon to the Trash won't do the job. You need to go to:
MacintoshHD/Applications. Open the Applications folder and locate Photoshop CS3. Drag that folder to the trash, empty the trash and reboot. Also, use Spotlight to find any associated files. Click the magnifying glass icon top right in your Desktop. Type in Photoshop CS3. A list will populate. At the top of the list it will say: Show All (and a number)... look in that list to see if there are any Photoshop associated files. If there are, just select one item, then on the right click the little circle with an "i" in it... that will give you the path to find it. Delete any associated files.
Reboot your Mac and see if you can do a clean install.
