Pc Suite Updates

When i first got my phone the Nokia 6500 slide i installed the disc that came with it which was the PC Suite V: 6.84.10.3 and in it’s true form you could see the message’s using the software that came with the phone. Plus if you transferred it to the PC the messages could still be viewed without having to open the message itself.
That is how it used to be till PC Suite had been updated and i would like to know why that aspect of the software had changed?
If you manage to save a large amount of text’s like me. Just glancing in the folder and seeing just the name of the person that sent it but no “Subject or Body” to what the message will be can be very daunting If you are looking for something specific from that person.
I probably like many others may have received text’s and decided to transfer them to the PC. In which i do instead of clogging up my phone if they are worth keeping. So please tell me why this has changed?
And may i add also why is it not possible to have my phone displaying a call timer that i can see at a glance when i am in a call and not only when the call has ended which was a feature in all the phones i have used? Is there no way that you can do a firmware update for this?

my advice to you Cavey would be to first uninstall all traces of your old PC suite completely, including deleting all installation files left behind and a complete defragmentation and cleanup of the registry and reboot. then i would suggest downloading the latest version of nokia pc suite from the nokia website and install that. this way it will be a clean install.
as for your bluetooth keyboard and mouse they shouldn't be lagging at all, as nokia pc suite should be independent of them (unless connectivity drivers somehow affect operation of other devices). but first i would suggest cleaning out your old installation of pc suite (as stated above), install the new one, then if problems still occur with your keyboard and mouse reinstall the latest version of software for them.
see how you go with doing all of this

    just a little background info from telstra. they have had the update from release. it comes down to the fact that there were so many fixes to anna they didnt think it fair to keep testing it. as for the emergency call that was an issue where when our emergency numbers were called the phone wouldnt call the number and it also caused the phone to freeze, i was told of alot of other issues whithin the update. telstra are now focusing on haveing there updates page update more often and correctly.
    i have not had any proplems while and after updating my n8 to anna. which goes to show that telstra have released a perfect version of anna. oo and new nokia phones are on the way to telstra.. ill let you work out what they are

    I have already seen all steps which are given in download help.

    With the dialog box open from the failed download, open a new browser window and type in the url listed in the download window.
    You will not be using their utility, but I have never had that work for me.

  • Nokia Suite Update Unavailable

    I have recently purchased a new PC, and installed the Nokia suite.  I connect my N8 and see that there is new system software to install, but as soon as I click the next button, once logged into my account, it says Nokia Suite Update is unavailable try again later.
    Any thoughts?????

    You may also try the Latest Beta version from here ... To download the installer, you need to log-in using the SAME credentials that you use on this Forum..
    It may be the case that there was a problem with Nokia servers (..as for this Forum since about 16 hrs...) Since these are restored, you may also try the way you were trying ...

  • PC Suite Update 7.1.40.1 impossible on NOKIA 2660

    Hi, I am a newbee here and my problem may have been discussed before. But I could not find a thread referring to it.
    Here's my problem:
    My PC Suite 7.1.30.8.every day offers two updates to me, one for PC Suite 7.1.40.1 and one for OVI Suite 2v. 2.1.1.1. After I learned that really many OVI users experienced low performance and less features of OVI, I decided only to install PC Suite Update 7.1.40.1. After trying so, in the middle of the update process the software is asking for a USB cable to connect the phone to my PC. With many foregoing updates this had never been asked for. NOW: my old NOKIA 2660 does not provide a USB cable connector (and until today I was completely satisfied with its Bluetooth connection).
    As a solution, Nokia's FAQ offers to update via phone-internet instead of phone-PC. But as soon as I start that update, it only allows for the update to OVI Suite 2v. 2.1.1.1, which I do not want.
    Here are my questions:
    - Does anybody have an idea, how to update my NOKIA 2660 to PC Suite 7.1.40.1 ?
    - Does anybody know, how to switch off the daily demand for update ?
    I would be very gladful, if you can give my some advice.

    l pboeI'm having the same problem now, after updating to version 7.1.26, I have a Nokia N85, Windows Vista Business and everything was working normally with the previous version, 7.1.18. I can't even use PC Suite anymore...that means I have to go back to the previous version? How can they release a newer version that's not working with the new phones....? Nokia???

  • Reinstalling Belle - The Nokia Suite update servic...

    I have a C6-01 I used before getting a Lumia and I want to give it to someone else. Before doing so, I wanted to reinstall Nokia Belle to remove everything I had on the phone's memory and to give the phone away with a fresh installation of the OS.
    The problem is that when I go to Software Update in Nokia Suite and click reinstall, Nokia Suite downloads 170MB out of the ~320MB that Nokia Belle has and then says "The Nokia Suite update service is currently unavailable." I've already tried this on two PCs, both running the latest version of Nokia Suite. I reinstalled the OS once before about a year ago and it worked just fine. Any ideas about why this might be happening and what I can do to solve it? I've looked around and found a lot of other people who have had this problem over the years but I haven't managed to find a way to get through it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

    I just tried using Nokia Software Recovery Tool. It recognizes my phone and immediately after I click Install and the download progress bar appears, it says something went wrong ("There was an error. Please try again. Error code: InternalError.")
    Is there anything else I can try?
    Edit: I also tried using Nokia Software Updater for Retail and the same thing happens. Then I tried using Nokia Care to download the firmware and it still doesn't work. It finds it, says it has 320MB, and when I click download, it just says it's been queued for download and that's it, nothing else happens.

  • No connection after PC Suite Update

    Hi there,
    after I found no satisfying solution in this forum I desided to write this question. Maybe also other users experienced this problem:
    When I was running PC Suite Version 6.7.Re25 (WinXP SP2) there was no problem using the software at all. The mobile (6233) was detected properly via infrared / IrDa. Editing contacts and synchronisation operations where no problem.
    After updating to the new version 6.8 it is not possible to connect via infrared. The mobile is detected and identified correctly ("...mobile 6233 in reach..."), only the connection manager will not connect to the mobile anymore. The application does not crash or freeze, its only that showing the "waiting for connection" screen - and nothing happens. Pressing the abort-button still work.
    All the previous advises (reducing connection speed, repair installation of the connection manager and so on) did not work.
    I was thinking about uninstalling and using the old Version 6.7. Maybe time will save this problem.
    Does anyone know a solution?

  • Nokia 6121 classic pc suite update - music manager...

    i updated to latest version pc suite 7 and everything works but the music manager, it is not responding! It used to work fine before the update. I have tried repairing with nil fix. i have tried reinstalling nil fix.

    I am having the same problem with my 6233. Apparently it is not compatible with Nokia music store, but the Nokia music application in PC suite that I have just downloaded will not recognise it either. All other applications in this version of PC suite will work ok with it. How do I revert to the old style music manager in order to dreate playlists etc. Also, the new music application has installed as the default music player on my PC, how do I stop this and change it? Nokia seem to have made things difficult for users of older model phones.

  • CS5 Master Suite Updater not working

    I'm running CS5 Master Suite on a MacBook Pro. A few months ago I had to re-install the entire suite from scratch, which means I have the original, base version of everything. I have been trying unsuccessfully for a few months now to update all the applications. The updater goes through the download / installation process, then gives the error message "Some updates failed to install" and lists ALL the applications in the suite with the problem: There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
    Any help / info is greatly appreciated!

    I am running into the same situation, same message. OS 10.9.4. It was suggested that I try installing the application updates individually. Certainly a more convoluted solution. Have you had any luck resolving this?

    What are the proxy settings when I update Creative suite on windows. I need the port and network ranges.

    I don’t know, but you can manually download the update for the Creative Suite directly from the Adobe website. Since the Creative Suite is very old at this point you are unlikely to see much in the way of updates except maybe security updates for Acrobat.

  • Ovi Suite update fails

    Hi, Ovi Suite started to prompt me to update to the latest version recently.
    The installation runs, but fails with the error:
     "Installer: The older version of Ovi Desktop Sync Engine cannot be removed. Contact your rechnical support group."
     I've since uninstall all the Nokia/Ovi apps via Windows Add/Remove and tried installing again but get the same error.
    After uninstalling everything from Add/Remove, All entries in the Start Menu are removed, but I can see in Program Files there is still a "Nokia\Nokia Ovi Suite\NokiaOviSuite.exe" which I can run. The Help-->About info shows me this version info:

    Connectivity Cable Driver 7.1.23.0

     Any suggestions on how to cleanly remove the existing version so i can install the newest version will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi, I have heard this problem before. Can you try following instructions:
    You can try to run repair and then uninstall Ovi Suite. If it
    uninstalls then installing new Ovi Suite should also be possible.
    If this doesn't help you have to download Windows Installer CleanUp
    Utility. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
    Direct link: http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983...
    First clean Ovi Desktop Sync Engine with this utility and then try to
    install Ovi Suite again. You may need to clean some other msi entries
    too. Hopefully this helps.

  • Creative suite updates take too long if they update at all

    why does the creative suite (in my case) take days upon days to update? it seems to get stuck and won't update any further. the blue sliding dohinky that shows how far the update has gone seems to get stuck and won't go any further. I've tried to keep the computer on all night and that didn't help. then I tried to run it again and the blue line goes to the very same update and length of the slider it was before then it won't go any further.
    this seems to always happen and there should be a fix from Adobe for this problem, but can't find one.

    It may be an idea to download the updates for each app individually, save to a folder and install each update one by one from there.

    Please uninstall the Nokia Ovi suite from  the control panel including Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver and PC Connectivity Solution.
    Then restart the phone and download the latest available Nokia Ovi suite 3.1.1.80 from Nolkia.com/ovisuite.

  • Nokia Suite update phone

    I am trying to update the software on my new Nokia 701 with Nokia Suite (3-5-34) on my windows 7 (64 bit) computer.
    After Nokia Suite did make a back-up it gives me the error that it is not connected to the phone.
    I have try the suggestion from the Nokia site to dissable drivers download in windows but this didn't help.

    Finally I upgraded by Wi-Fi which did fine.
    But for the record.
    Next procedure I repeated 3 times (On different USB-ports)
    Set auto download drivers off as suggested by the Nokia-site.
    I have disabled anti-virus.
    Every time waited for about 15 minutes after getting the error.
    But nothing seems to work.
    I get a red sign with 6 corners in which is a yellow ! .
    (Then translated from Dutch to English)
    Can't install the software.
    There is a problem with the connection between Nokia Suit and your phone. Check whether the USB is connected directly to the computer and try to start the installation again. Renew the connection of your phone and restart Nokia Suite if this wont help.
    (Sorry for my English).
