PC Sync 2 Synchronisation Extension in Firefox 3.5...

Does anyone from Nokia have an estimated release date for a new version of the bookmark synchronisation extension between PC Sync 2 and Firefox 3.5.2? It's been quite a long time since Firefox 3.5 came out, and those of us who've upgraded have been completely unable to sync our phone bookmarks for all that time. Please sort it out!

This problem only occurs the first time I open Firefox after turning on the computer, but it occurs EVERY time I turn on the computer. Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry.

If you see disabled extensions that are not compatible on the next start in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button to do a compatibility check.

I'm told by the Add-Ons window that these extensions will be uninstalled when I restart firefox, but they come back every time I restart. I've tried clearing the extensions cache from my firefox profile and it does not work. Following the steps in all of the active questions regarding this issue among other users have yielded no results. Sync different versions of firefox

On all my Machines I use FFox 3.x with the Sync addon.
After upgrading one machine to Firefox 5, all setting, Bookmarks and was gone on this machine.
Using sync, I was able to get these settings back, but after that, all the machines don't sync anymore.
A second machine kept their settings during upgrade, but does not sync either.
With FFox 5, there's also no way to tell wether sync is working, or when the last sync time has been.
I would upgrade my other machines as well, but am afraid to loose the bookmarks stored there.
What should I do to get Firefox sync again?

The Motorola Milestone has a low amount of system RAM and that causes very poor performance. Because of this we don't support running Firefox mobile on the Milestone.
To set up sync you need to create a sync account on desktop Firefox. Then on the mobile device press the connect to sync and then go to desktop Firefox and enter the Sync code.

I've uninstalled and installed it again but it not appears on Complements page even.
Please make WMP extension work on Firefox again, use IE only to listen WMP streamings it's sick. =(

"Copy to clipboard" issue with Acrobat X and Skype extension in Firefox

This post is just to let you know that there is and issue with Acrobat X and the Skype extension in Firefox.
I don't know why but when both programs (Firefox and Acrobat) are opened and I try to copy something from a PDF I always get an error
message like "Impossible to copy into the clipboard. An internal error occurred".
If I close Firefox or I disable the Skype extension for Firefox everything runs smoothly.
It is really odd, I don't know if it is a problem of Acrobat, Firefox or of Skype....
Are anyone experiencing the same problem?

Just found your post after getting the same problem with Google Chrome and Adobe Reader 10. It doesn't happen all the time but is annoying. If I switch Chrome off the problem is cured. Switch it straight back on and the problem reappears. It has only started after Skype was installed. Thanks for posting - I'll just switch Chrome off for now when I want to copy and paste unless a fix appears.

How to remove Sync login button from Firefox Start Menu

If you use userChrome.css then you need to create and chrome folder and the userChrome.css within this folder.
* Create the chrome folder (lowercase) in the <xxxxxxxx>.default profile folder if this folder doesn't exist
* Use a plain text editor like Notepad to create a (new) userChrome.css file in this folder (the names are case sensitive)
* Paste the code in the userChrome.css file in the editor window and make sure that the userChrome.css file starts with the default @namespace line

Unable to migrate, import, sync bookmarks to 2nd Firefox on partition

Started with Mac OSX10.8. Added 10.6 partition.
When I opened the same Firefox in 10.6 partition, my bookmarks didn't show up but browser.
I downloaded a new firefox just for the 10.6 partition. I was not prompted to import my bookmarks, and I cannot figure out how to import them. I looked at the sync options on this firefox and it mirrors the first one...meaning it has my sync account already on it, and the 'sync now' option under tools, not 'set-up sync' and it does not provide the 12 digit key code.
If I could just import the bookmarks etc that I already have that would be something, but I can't find a menu option for that. I wasn't given the option upon start up.
If I have to start clean and reinstall 10.6 first, I will. I just need to know what I can expect to work wit a partition. I haven't been able to find mac specific info in any forum.
Probably even more problematic, each time I open firefox, it prompts me to download yet another firefox download disk image???

Also, I would love to know where the firefox bookmark folder is in 10.8. It doesn't come up in search. I can't find the path.
I do know that in 10.6 the bookmarks are here:
Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<randomname>.default
(found them...they are hidden lol)

Video downloading extensions for Firefox?

Hiya,
I am looking for an extension for Firefox so I can download videos from webpages such as YouTube, Google video, MySpace etc. I am really not sure what to do for a couple of reasons;
1.) I'm not sure if they are illegal or if using them to download videos from these sites would be illegal, and I don't want to do anything against the law. I am confused, as common sense tells me it must be illegal, yet the extensions are listed on the official Firefox Add Ons site, so why would they endorse or allow something that encourages people to violate copyright?
2.) If they are legal, I don't know which one to get, there are about a dozen on the Mozilla Add Ons site. I'd like to hear from anyone who knows one that works and is easy and secure to use.
Can anyone advise me on these two issues? I'd be most grateful, Thanks.

I am more familiar with extensions than plug-ins. I'm not actually sure of the difference between the two.
I can't say what file type exactly, as I'm getting it so I can download useful videos I find in the future, so I'm not sure which type now. All I can say is I am interested in the sites I mentioned in my first post.

Does FIrefox Sync sync the extensions' settings between computers? I mean the individual settings and customizations of different extensions?

No, sync only synchronizes prefs that are white-listed via a special services.sync.prefs.sync. pref that you can inspect or create via the <b>about:config</b> page.

If you want to sync additional prefs then you can create a corresponding sync pref yourself and set the value to true.

Firefox running under Linux Mint (based on Ubuntu) 12 (KDE) won't install extensions for Firefox

Started up Firefox right after Mint was installed. On the add-ons page video download helper was shown as a featured extension and I installed it, then rebooted when prompted. After that, Firefox would never install another extension again. Just gives download error.
I google searched and in a forum I found a post about uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox. I tried it. First time I started it up, it installed video download helper again, but then would not install any other extension after that. I tried numerous extensions I '''KNOW''' are working in Firefox 10.0 because they are working in Firefox over on my Win 7. Everytime I get a download error, either from the addons site or from the Add-ons Manager in Firefox.
Someone told me on the Mint forums that I needed to add a subdirectory on a certain directory, so I did that. Didn't work.
It seems Ubuntu disables the root, or cripples it, and I guess Mint does too. You can still use sudo when doing things in Ubuntu (and Mint I would assume, since it's based on Ubuntu) but you can't get true 'superuser' access as I understand it. But, I don't think this would have any bearing on the problem, or my search of the Mint forums would have come up with all kinds of threads screaming about this.

Problem solved - it was caused by an add-on called "PDF Download 3.0.0.2)
To fix - in Firefox :
Click on '''Tools''' command (top of screen)
Select '''Extensions'''
click on "'''disable''' button beside '''PDF Download'''
Close Firefox and restart it.
Clicking on any pdf file should open a new tab now and the document will appear there.
