PC Sync fails with USB2/BT2 dongle connection to N...

I have a problem with syncing my N2760 phone.
Its BT connection works fine with the headset but PC Sync, after working sporadically on the first day (it took 6 tries to load my 530 Outlook contacts on to the phone) no longer works at all.
I have 2 BT enabled computers, a Vista Home Premium Sony Laptop using a Bluesoleil USB2/BT2 dongle and an XP Pro workstation using a Broadcom USB2/BT2 dongle with Widcomm software. In both cases the BT stacks are listed as being supported by PC Suite.
On both machines PC Sync runs for a little while then the sync fails with a message suggesting I check the connection. The phone also partially locks up and the screen just displays the battery and BT symbols, the rest is blank. It won't come out of this condition even if I remove the battery and/or simm card. After 15 minutes or so it recovers by itself.
The PC Suite version is 6.85.14.1

I think the information I'm looking for is whether anyone has been able to get reliable performance from PC Sync using a BT dongle. AFAICT there are 3 supported BT stack families, Widcomm, Bluesoleil amd Microsoft. The one I haven't tried is MS - would it be worth my while looking for a dongle that's supported by MS?

  • WSUS sync fails with "Webexception the underlying connection was closed. The connection was closed unexpectedly"

While I have my WSUS integrated with SCCM. I think this error has nothing to do with SCCM, so I put it here in the WSUS forum. On one of my networks, the nightly WSUS sync worked until two weeks ago. I've made no progress in fixing it. Ocassionally it'll
say the sync was successful (about 1 in 15 attempts). I keep getting "WebException: The underlying connection was closed. The connection was closed unexpectedly. at System.WebServices.Protocols.WebClientProtocol.GetWebResponse(WebRequest
request) at System.WebServices.Protocols.GetWebResponse(WebRequest request) at MicroSoft.UpdateServices.ServerSync.ServerSyncCompressionProxy.GetWebResponse(WebRequest webrequest) at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.(Invoke StringMethodName,Object[]

Our enterprise has it's own WSUS server we have to sync from. The problem may be at that end, not mine. A sync will start and will fail about 4 minutes later. Our network guy watched the traffic leave our compound but saw only a trickle of traffic coming
    back. Any ideas?

    Hi,
Please try this fix below first:
FIX: Intermittent "Underlying connection was closed" error message when you call a Web service from ASP.NET
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/819450
I guess you are maintaining a downstream server. If it isn’t a replica server, please try to sync with Microsoft update.
    Hope this helps.

I know there are loads of posts with same issue and most of them were related to proxy and connectivity .
This was case for me as well (few months back). Now the same error is back. But I've confirmed that FW ports and proxy are fine this time around.

I've checked proxy server connectivity. I'm able browse following site from WSUS server
    http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx?sku=wsus&version=3.2.7600.226&protocol=1.8
I did telnet proxy server on the particular port (8080) and that is also fine.
I've doubt on certificates, any idea which are the certificates which we need to look? And if certificate is expired then (my guess) we won't be able open the above mentioned windows update catalog site?
    Any tips appreciated !

Hi Lawrence ! - Many thanks for looking into this thread and replying. Appreciate your help.
Your reply  ("SSL is enabled/configured, and the certificate being used is invalid
(or the cert does not exist or cannot be obtained), or the SSL connection could not be established.") is very helpful.
I've already tested CONTENT DOWNLOAD and it's working fine. WSUS Sync was also working fine for years with proxy server configured on port (8080) and WSUS server on port 80.
My Guess (this is my best guess ;)) is this something to do with Firewall or Proxy side configuration rather than WSUS. However, I'm not finding a way to prove this to proxy/firewall team. From their perspective all the required port communication open and
proxy server is also reachable. More over we're able to access internet (Microsoft Update Catalog site) over same port (8080).
Any other hints where I can prove them it's a sure shot problem from their side.
    Thanks again !!

  • Update Sync Fails with 0x80131500

    Hello,
I've looked through the forum for an answer to this recent problem. I went to sync updates for the new out-of-band IE patch and discovered the last time my catalog updated successfully was 4/26. We did have patches install on production servers the next
day including a service pack for SQL server 2012.
This software update point has worked for months, has no proxy, no change of the WSUS location, nor did adding credentials to connect to WSUS (on the same server) help any. I also looked on both the SQL server and the SCCM server for update
KB2840628 which had been mentioned in some posts.
Due to the proximity of the breakage to the updates I would assume either an update or the reboot of the servers caused the issue. We've rebooted both SQL and SCCM since to no avail.
WSUS on the same server shows synchronizations as "success" so the underlying structure seems to be working fine.
I have not deleted the Software Update Point and re-added since I wasn't certain exactly what that does.
The logs show the following errors. I've looked for answers based on these but haven't found anythign that works or fits my situation (WSUS hasn't moved, etc):
Error: The Microsoft Software License Terms have not been completely downloaded and cannot be accepted.
Sync failed: Failed to sync some of the updates. Source: Microsoft.SystemsManagementServer.SoftwareUpdatesManagement.WsusSyncAction.WSyncAction.SyncUpdates  $$<SMS_WSUS_SYNC_MANAGER>

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Calendar Sync Fails with BDM

When attempting to sync iCal with my Pearl the progress bars get part way through sync and then will not continue.  I have left it run for an hour and ended up having to kill the process.  Manually removed all events from the device (what a pain) and re-ran it several times with the same results.  It looks like sync actually adds the calendar events before freezing up.  The address book and everything else appears to sync correctly.

Did and now I have the sync wanting to replace all of my iCal events with events from my Pearl.  I cancelled the replace, the test you asked for did not get posted in the Pearl.  Afterwards for the heck of it I tried to sync all calendars and still wants to replace all my iCal events.
As I said previously before I did your test, I cleared all my events from Pearl and performed the sync which added all the events into the Pearl but froze up .  Now, since all of the current events on my Pearl are now the same ones that are from my iCal put in during the failed attempt I don't understand why it wants to replace them now when I sync?
I have 2 screen grabs from two separate events sync wants to replace from my Pearl to the iCal.  One screen shows what the comparison is before the mod and the other is what it want to change it to after the mod.  Makes no sense since the event is the same as what was from iCal to begin with.  Is there some place I can send these images to?
Hope I didn't confuse the issue.

  • Sync fails with "Unknown Error" no clear UI shows what happened

I'm using the latest Firefox 3.6 with the latest sync extension on some machines and the latest Firefox beta (4.0b6) on another machine. A few weeks ago the sync stopped work on my Firefox Beta and the only error I could see is: Error while syncing: Unknown error.
I took the time today to to see what happens and saw on the log (about:sync-log) that:
    2010-10-20 13:17:02 Net.Resource DEBUG GET success 200 https://phx-sync054.services.mozilla.com/1.0/dcordeiro/info/collections

2010-10-20 13:17:02 Service.Main DEBUG Exception: aborting sync, remote setup failed No traceback available
This raises two questions. First, the UI does not shows exactly what happened. This kind of issues with upgrades on the sync platform should be expected.
Second, this shows that a regular user shouldn't be using sync with different Firefox versions. This is quite usual, I think (a more stable version on work and newer version on home) and should be expected.

  • Sync failing with unknown error - previously worked

Over the past month, my desktop Firefox has started displaying the dreaded “Sync encountered an error while syncing: Unknown error.” message. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting the browser, but it still does it.

  • Solution Manager Quality Assurance Sync Fails with Deadlock

Transaction --> SOLAR02  -->  Configuration --> Send Data to Qulaity Center
We are trying to sync the Requirement from Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1  to  Qulaity Center 10.
It was working fine till we added more requirements in Solution Manager.
I know DEADLOCKs are Application Design issues and Vendor has to help.We are working with SAP for the last 2 weeks and no help from them.
Following is the error message I get from Quality Center Log.

Did any one face this issue?

This is for anyone who has ever had a problem like this between his/her local and network accounts. Apparently, when Mac OS X SL Server creates the network account, it tries to duplicate the basic file structures one would find in an independent (i.e. non-networked) machine. My goal was to be able to use my network account, at home, as my standard so that I would be able to take advantage of the networked file services. I succeeded in this and was able to transfer successfully my iTunes library as well. However, the iSync Manager did not duplicate in the new Open Directory account. Upon reading past posts to Apple Discussion groups I determined that there are two files that the iSync Manager uses in order to function. They are as follows:
    ~/Library/Application Support/SyncServices/Local/
    and
    ~/Library/Application Support/iSync/
Copy these two files from your local account to the Open Directory account in their same relative places in the file structure and your iSync Manager will start and you will be able to sync your iPhone calendars and contacts with iTunes.

  • PSE7 Backup/Sync fails with existing album

My PSE7 install is an upgrade from PSE6, so obviously I have a large numnber of albums defined already from what PSE7 considers to be the "first run" of the organizaer.
I've been down this road of trying to sync my content up to PS.COM once before - and it was a disaster.  Had issues on both ends of the deal, so I went back to PSE6 while working with the PS.COM guys (who turned out to be great!) to get the issues with the site straightened out.  I think we're there on the web side, so I'm starting over.  I wiped out everything on the PS.COM side - had a blank account with 40G of space available.
I upgraded (again) to PSE7.  Once 7 was running I created a new album (called Test PScom), enabled backup/sync and put three photos in it.  This all worked fine, and my three photos are now up on the PS.COM site.
However, test two crapped out.  I took an existing album (with about 15 photos in it) and enabled backup/sync for it.  What happend is that the sync agent created the album on the PS.COM site, but none of the photos ever get uploaded.  If I choose the "photos pending sync" view in PSE7, I see all 15 of the items that belong in this album.  They're marked as needing to be sync'd.  However, they never actually get transfered.
    Things I'm pretty sure of:
It's not a permissions / firewall / connectivity problem.  Anything I create that's brand new syncs just fine.
It's not the content of this album.  All 15 photos are JPGs ~1M each
I'm not out of space on the site, and my PS.COM account is (now) in good working order
The sync engine itself hasn't died
I've seen all the suggestions (made some of them myself) about how to "trick" the engine into working.  I'll do it if I have to, but I'm much more interested in getting some onput from Adobe as to what the real problem is here.
Also curious if I'm the only one left with this issue, or if there are others?

    Hi,
Sign out of your account. Stop sync and follow the steps mentioned at the following tech note http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/408/kb408660.html . Sign in and start sync again. See if it helps .
Also send us your Sync db : Navigate to your catalog location (catalog location can be viewed under Help>System Info)Zip the syncdb folder there and send to [email protected]
    Thanks

Need help to get rid of it...
Please let me know if you have face this issue , and proposed soultion.

This is most probably because the defaultNamingContext attribute does not exist i.e. a value has not been set for the msDS-DefaultNamingContext attribute of the ADAM's nTDSDSA object
    Hope this helps,

  • Have a new computer want to sync songs with iphone that is connected to old computer

    have a new laptop
have iphone synced to old laptop (now broken)
want to sync iphone to new itunes but not lose all songs saved on phone
why do apple make things so hard? please help

You are not addressing Apple, this is a user to user support forum. iTunes has always been designed to sync one way, from iTunes to the device. iDevices have always been able to sync to only one computer. It is the user's responsibility to back up their devices to minimize impact in case of failures. The reason this is designed this way also has to do with pirating music, sharing of music with people that do not have authorization to have it due to copyright laws.
I'm sorry, I cannot see why you not having a backup of your computer is Apple's concern. I'd be willing to be that you have not set up any system for backing up your new computer either. Do you backup your iPhone?

  • Sync failed with user datastore

    Hello,
When using ctx_ddl.sync_index in 8.1.7 on a user datastore index, the synchronization is not done (same values in dr$<IDX>$i). If I drop and recreate the index, values in dr$<IDX>$i are correct. ctx_ddl.sync_index works ok with other indexes (non user datastore).
Is this a limitation, or is there another way to sync a user datastore index?
Thanks and have s good day
    Eric
    null

    More info:
In fact sync and drop/recreate impact a user datastore index in different ways: sync creates new tokens (token_text) in dr$<IDX>$i, and drop/recreate groups token and increment references (token_count).
Assuming it's a feature, does it impact the search in any ways? If so, which method is recommended: sync or drop/recreate?
    Thanks in advance
    Eric
