PC to MAC, how to transfer everything?

I'm getting a Macbook on Friday, I have an iPhone 3G and obviously you can only sync the iPhone with one library. I have transferred all of my music to my external hard drive but how do i back up everything to do with iTunes so that I can transfer it to my Mac with no problems? Or is that it?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Choose Consolidate Library from the Library section of the File menu, copy the iTunes folder(not just iTunes Music) to an external drive, put that folder on the new computer, launch iTunes with the Option key held down, and point it to that library. Alternatively, back it up to CDs or DVDs and restore the backup on the new computer.

does anyone know how to transfer everything in my ipod to my laptop

Use iTunes to sync your music to your iPod.  You can also download music purchased from the iTunes store to your iPod from your purchased list in the iTunes app (tap the iTunes app, tap More at the bottom, tap Purchased>Music>Not on this iPod, then tap the icloud download symbols).
You can sign into the same iCloud account on both devices in Settings>iCloud, then tap Photos and turn on My Photo Stream and future photos taken on either device will automatically stream to the other.  To transfer existing photos, you'll have to import them from your iPad to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083, then put them in a folder and sync them to your iPod by selecting the folder on the Photos tab of your iTuens sync settings and syncing.  Or you can use an app like PhotoSync to send them between your devices using your wifi.

  • How to transfer EVERYTHING from my iPhone to iTunes?

Basically I've just purchased an iPhone 5. Last July I replaced my iPhone 4 with another one as I broke it, and ever since (stupidly) I hadn't been connecting my iPhone to my computers for back-ups etc, although I have had iCloud activated and running the entire time (to my knowledge).
Now I've just restored my iPhone 5 from a back-up of my iPhone 4 I've just done (a back-up from the computer), yet the only thing that was restored really and transferred onto my new phone was Spotify and my background. What went wrong? I'll admit since I don't use iTunes anymore as I've moved straight to Spotify, I have little idea how to navigate through the latest iTunes, so there could've been a fault on my end, but I don't know.
TL;DR.. How do I get EVERYTHING from my old iPhone 4 to my new iPhone 5? Not just purchased apps, everything. For example, Whatsapp and all the messages/photo's/video's that have been sent within it.
Thanks for the help in advance!

I can follow really good directions, but I am not a technical person so any help you can give me would be so great appreciated. The Apple Store can do this for you.

  • How to transfer everything from mac to mac?

I want to transfer absolutley everything from my old mac to new mac.

If your setting up the new Mac, the first time, you turn it on you could use Setup Assistant to transfer your User Folder from the old Mac. That can be done via WiFi or Firewire.
If you've already turned the new Mac on and partially set it up, you may want to use Migration Assistant.

How do I transfer email folders with all messages from a i-Mac G5 (OSX 10.4.11) to a new iMac with OSX 10.6.7?

    Martin,
I would recommend starting over this time using Setup Assistant. Because you are migrating from a PPC machine I would migrate everything EXCEPT applications. You should manually install your apps, this will give you the opportunity to udate the ones that need it and I'm sure there are many. You may even apps that won't run on Intel based machines so why migrate them at all? You can use the Setup Assistant tips beginning at "Second chance...." You can either restore from your old machine or from one of it's backups. I think you'll see it's a pretty clean process, something you passed over (I'm not sure why) when  you turned on the new iMac for the first time.

  • How to transfer EVERYTHING from one Curve to another Curve

    Hi,
My daughter has a Curve for almost a years now. The service is through Verizon. Just this past week a few keys got stuck. Verizon decided the phone was defective and sent her a new phone overnight. That was great.
Now for the hard part. She's been backing up everything to her PC. One question we have is: Does EVERYTHING truely get backed up or are some apps are data not backed up? She needs to be able to sync her new Curve, once she activates it (which she hasn't yet till she understands the process to restore everything), and get everything she had before on the original Curve.
The issue is that we've gotten differing opinions from Verizon as to exactly how much is backed up and what isn't. So I felt that most likely the people on this forum would be more knowledgable.
Some more info. She doesn't use Outlook on her PC. So is her calendar still baked up in such a way that it cane be restored on the nw unit? Also, what about her Messenger? She mentioned something about the Messenger is tied to a PIN, which is tied to a phone and not a user. Is this true? I assumed (since i am not a Blackberry user myself) is that the Messenger would be similar to AOL's AIM, where the username/screen name is tied to a specific user and not a device. So how does she transfer her Messenger info?
She needs to transfer her contacts, calendar, messenger, and the PIN/password app (not sure what this is except she said that came installed on the Blackberry).
Thanks in advance for your help. This is very stressful for my daughter. She loved her Blackberry but now has to go through this process of transferring her "life" and Verizon is not very helpful.
    Thanks again,
    Steve

    Hi,
Since she has been packing up her data, she should be fine.
You can use the Switch device wizard in the desktop software to transfer over the data. (device to device)
If there are any third party applications, you can restore through the application loader. Some may
require a re-install, as you may have two different operating systems.
The messenger application will have to be reinstalled, as the PIN is unique. I will attach the manual,
to see if the contacts can remain, or will have to be reset.
Let me know what desktop software version your are using and I will get you a manual.
In the meantime here is the procedure:
    What it is:

    Blackberrry messsenger manual:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=SWDXIMEN-001002&sliceId...
Let me know the version of Desktop software ( bring up the program and the version is on the bottom middle of the
    program window).

  • My quandary is how to transfer EVERYTHING from a Macbook pro that won't boot up to a new one, will the usual linking with a firewire lead still work?

I have an early intel Macbook Pro that wouldn't wake from sleep and won't now boot up, i'm just going to replace it with a new 13" i5 but i need to transfer the last five years of my life off the dead one to the new one, there's nearly 3 grand of music software and mp3's before i even think about the 10 years of photographs and videos, some of it is backed up but i ideally want to just transfer it all over.
what are my options? will linking the two together with a firewire or similar still be possible without the old one booting up (it still has power and turns on but the sleep light is constantly lit but very dim, the hard drive does sound like it's spinning up) or am I best removing the old Hard drive and putting it in an external case, would I be able to access directories and folders or could i boot up off an external drive or would there be hardware compatibility problems?
without sounding off i'd appreciate any complicated processes be explained in beginner to intermediate levels of "GEEK" i'm far from a pro but should be able to muddle through!!!
you've no idea how much any help with this will be appreciated!!!

Since the old MBP is dead the only option is to remove the hard drive and use a SATA/IDE to USB adapter to get all your stuff off the old drive.
One note though make sure you use the same user name and passord on your new MBP as you had on the old one.
As to software hopefully you have all the license information written down other wise you may have a hard time reinstalling some of it. Also be aware that OS X Lion will not run older PPC software. So if you have older programs that used Rosetta to run it will not run on Lion.
    Good luck with everything.

  • On a new Mac how to transfer video from an external DVD to an external hard rive

I want to transfer my family videos from an external DVD player attached to my new mac to an external hard drive for back up purposes.  What do I do?  Thanks.

It is an external DVD drive connected by USB.
Then you can copy your DVDs using Disk Utility.
Insert your DVD in the drive.  If DVD player opens, close it.  Then open Disk Utility.  (Disk Utility comes with all Macs; it's located in the /Applications/Utilities folder.)
In Disk Utlity, select your DVD disk in the pane on the left side.  Then do File > New Disk Image from (title of your DVD disk).
Then give a name to the copy you are about to create and select a save location.
In "Image Format" select DVD/CD Master  (very important!)
Set encryption as NONE  (also very important!)
    Then Save
This will create a disk image file on your hard drive.  It's a duplicate of your DVD.  You can burn this image to other DVD media and/or play it on your computer same as if it were an actual DVD disk.
Note: this will not work with commercial DVDs due to their copy protection.
