PC to MAC registration

Recently purchased Lightroom 5 and installed the disc on a WINDOWS PC, I now have a Macbook and would like to run Lightroom on the Mac. How can I do this? I am aware I need to do a download, how do I get it registered without having to pay for a second copy?

There is nothing to register. You simply install it. LR is cross-platform from the getgo.

  • MAC registration on the trusted network by employees on a web based url

    Hi All,
I would like to configure web based url on cisco WLAN controller for MAC registration on the trusted network by employees. And same like as guest management (Lobby admin).
    Is this possiable ?
    Regards,
    Satish.

You would need a solution like Cisco Identity Services Engine to accomplish what you are describing.  It will do exactly as you say and much, much more.

    Hi Saurabh,
The L2FM is Layer2 Feature Manager which manages the mac-address table and mac-address
registrations and deletions from the hardware table. The L2FM component exists on Nexus
7K. In case of Nexus 5500 and Nexus 6K, there is an equivalent component called FWM. Since
most of the code is re-used in Nexus 6K platform, the references to L2FM need to be
removed/resolved on Nexus 6K code. There is a software bug to fix these L2FM references in
the code. Still the bug is in assigned state, hence the fix for this bug is not yet
available. You can safely ignore these messages, they have no impact. The mac-addresses
are registered with FWM and since there is no L2FM these messages have no impact.

  • ISE1.2 MAC registration after LDAP web-auth

Have a situation where we want to just do a simple one time registration of the MAC address after a person successfully authenticates web-auth using  LDAP.
It's very similar to guest authentication, but I'm not sure how to customize the another portal for this user group so I don't affect the current guest portal.  Is there a better way?
    I'm envisioning the following sequence:
    1. User tries to log onto wireless for the first time and is redirected to a web page to enter LDAP credentials
    2. User successfully authenticates credentials and ISE adds MAC address to a "VALID ENDPOINT" endpoint group
    3. Next time user tries to access wireless they are seemlessly connected, but what happens is ISE sees their MAC in the "VALID ENDPOINT" group and MAB's them onto the network.
It looks very similar to the guest portal configuration, but I'm not sure how you tell it to register the MAC with an endpoint group.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

Yeah, I was looking at that as the fallback plan.  Just wasn't sure if there was someway to adjust the guest portal authentication with some background scripting or something.
    Thanks.

The customer chat representative has ended the chat and told me the only way to fix my issue is to post to the forums.
What do I do? It's an older copy of the Master Suite, so it was a fairly expensive software and I'd like it to be usable,

  • Office for mac registration keys

We have two macs in our house and we bought the students version of office for mac which has a 3 user licence. we have used up 2 of the licences for the two macs. my mac has just bin sent in for a new hard drive. will i still be able to use the licence key that i used originally cos we might use the other key for my brothers new laptop? any help would be great. thanks a lot
    phil

The student / teacher version is the full version and works the same as the standard office package, it has NO limited functions and it is fully upgrade able.
As much as anyone might be able to buy it; you will be breaking the EULA (end user license agreement) by accepting the terms and conditions of use when you install it if you are not a student / teacher.
It comes with 3 license keys, these are only to be used by eligible students/ teachers on computers based within the same home.
Just because if appears easy to break to licensing terms (ie being able to buy it off the shelf in pc world) without having the correct status; it does not make it right. People need to think twice before obtaining software they are not eligible for... you might as well buy a illegal copy off ebay!

  • Sending SMS from my Mac, registrered on my Iphone

I am a freshman regarding the use of Mac and IPhone. I am searching for an app which give me the possibility of writing sms on my Mac and sending it through my IPhone. Can anyone help ?

It's because of an Apple imposed limitation of the iPhone's rather basic Bluetooth implementation.
Technically, Apple could provide the iPhone with much more Bluetooth functionality (file transfer, printing, vCard transfer, SMS sending, remote control, contact & calendar syncing etc.) through iPhone OS updates.

  • Does registration with verisign use hostid

    Hi,
I'm looking to move a system that runs WebLogic AS, and has an SSL certificate
with Verisign, to a new machine. The question is, what is used by WebLogic to
identify the machine to VeriSign and the users, in the SSL negotiation. If the
identifier will be the machine's IP address of it's host-name, that's not a problem,
as the new hardware will have the same ones as the old machine. However, if the
machine's hostid (on most Unix systems, 'uname -i' on HP), which is the machine's
hardware unique id, is used, then I will have to get a new certificate from Verisign.
This is used to be tied to the IP-address, and later to the machine's MAC address,
but newer machines have this tied to the CPU (as in the case with Itanium-based
machines) or somehow to the motherboard.
I'd appreciate any input on the matter.
    Thanks,
    Raz

  • Wireless Security & Methods

    Hi,
I've some experience on WLAN Networks, but I would like to have your opinion around Wireless Security implemenations.
We have several sites where we have some Cisco Access points running IOS. We are currently doing WEP 128b, with Mac-Authentication against a central ACS Server.
But having fixed WEP, and mac registrations is not very practical.
Do you know about any method to have authentication against Active Directory (passing through the Cisco ACS), and Dynamic WEP Keys ?
    Any recommendation is welcome.
Of course with this we would like to bring up our level of security.
    Thanks a lot for all,
    Best Regards,
    Jorge

An ACS server can be used to do authentication based on user logon to AD.
So it would only require a single login if your wireless adapter supports it.
You would just need to enable the wireless vlan to do 802.1x (EAP-FAST) authentication.
This document would answer some of your questions.

802.1x/EAP authentication is the most popular authentication method in wireless. The following documents explain how to configure EAP authentication.

  • Consolidate multiple applecares under multiple MobileMe IDs?

We are a small company with multiple Macs, each with its own applecare.
Each applecare was registered with the mobileme account associated with its mac.
We would like to take all the applecares and register them under the same account.
We called Apple and we went through a really long phone call and they said they did consolidate all of the applecare agreements... but they didn't.
I called again today and they walked me through how to consolidate the mac registrations in our support profile. Which is not really what I wanted to do.
I don't want to call and explain everything again. Does anyone know how to consolidate all your applecare agreements so that when you log in with your apple ID to manage your applecare agreements, all of our agreements appear?

Apple will not respond here. These are user-to-user forums only.
Anyway, sorry, but there is no way to consolidate or transfer purchases between iTunes Store accounts.

  • OS X can't connect to wireless network. Windows can?

A friend of mine has 64-bit WEP on his home router. I know WEP is bad, but it can't do WPA and he can't afford to buy another router. Anyway, I can't connect to it on OS X. After I type in the password, I get the error that it can't connect and I have the options OK or Try Again. Try Again never connects. I thought it was a weird hardware issue, with my wireless network card not being compatible with the router. But if I reboot into Windows, I connect just fine.
For the record, it's a 2WIRE DSL Modem + Wireless Router (HomePortal 1000HW to be exact).
I thought it was my OS X, because I've had weird errors ever since moving it back and forth to an external drive for Boot Camp, but he said another friend of his with a MacBook couldn't connect either.
Does OS X have a problem with 64-bit WEP networks, or is it a problem with 2WIRE 1000HWs? What do you think?

The dollar sign is called a "hex escape".
Mac users choose to use Mac, and they will have their own batch of idiosyncracies.
A novice? Your mac registration date is 5 years ago.
A novice would do exactly as you have done. Come to the Discussions, ask a question and get the answer. Or call their ISP which provided the 2Wire.

  • SG 300-28P changes to excluded

I have a SG300-28P that when I plug in a Avaya VOIP phone, changes from tagged to excluded on my VLAN 50 that I have set aside for phones.  The phone that doesn't work until I change it back to tagged.  Then if you reboot the phone, it doesn't change it back again and stays working.  How can I prevent having to do this every time I connect a new phone to my switch?

Hi Chris, depending on the phone model it may not support the CDP message from the auto-voice VLAN assignment. In some phone deployments, it may be best suited to use the LLDP-MED to consistently feed the telephone VLAN tag.
Assuming your phone supports LLDP-MED, set up the policy and apply it. If this also does not work then your next option would be telephony OUI where you'd register the phone MAC address to assign the VLAN tag based off that MAC registration.

  • Leopard on a Digital Audio G4 - can't access certain sites

    Specs:
    Digital Audio PowerMac G4
    1.5GB RAM
    1.7GHz G4 Sonnet Encore/ST; previously 733MHz stock G4
    Leopard (10.5.8)
Network is controlled by a router running DD-WRT v24-SP2.
I am having a horrendous time trying to get this specific Mac to access certain websites - namely, anything to do with Google or Yahoo. I can't get to YouTube, I can't get to ANY Google site (including non-US domains), I can't get to Yahoo (or any of its services, like Flickr, del.icio.us, Zimbra, etc...)...obviously, this is getting a tad frustrating. I've been relegated to searching with Microsoft Bing for the time being...oh, the irony...
At any rate, I've tried flushing the DNS cache (dnscacheutil -flushcache), flushing the routing tables (route -n flush, route -v flush), assigning a new IP on my LAN, using other DNS servers (OpenDNS and Verizon), putting the machine in the router's DMZ, and sacrificing a kitten to the flying spaghetti monster.
None of these things have worked. I cannot figure out for the life of me what the problem is. It's not a DNS issue - I can ping google.com and it resolves it to an IP...of course, pinging fails since I can't actually connect to it. I've also tried connecting to other known good IPs for google.com.
I don't see this problem on any of my other Macs running OS 9, Tiger, and Leopard. I don't see it on any of my machines running Windows (XP Pro, Vista Ultimate, Server 2003). I don't see it on my iPhone or my boyfriend's iPhone. I only see it on this one machine, and it used to not be a problem. I'm going nuts trying to figure out what happened.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Nope. In fact, here's a comprehensive list of what I've tried:
    using other DNS servers
    flushing the DNS cache
    flushing the routing tables
removing the ethernet interface and re-adding it
creating a new location in the networking preferences pane
installing an Airport card and using that instead of ethernet to connect to the network
setting up a static DHCP IP on my router (using MAC registration), releasing the old IP, and picking up a new one
putting the machine in the router's DMZ
trying tracert or ping to get to external domains and IPs
clearing out /tmp in case some temporary file(s) were causing a problem
setting up a new user account and logging in with it
There is something low-level in the system that's causing this problem. Trouble is, I have no clue what it could be. I'm right now downloading the combo updater in the total off chance that it will replace whatever corrupt file is breaking my Internet connection.
