Pc to mac transfer ........ almost there -please HELP me complete!
Successfully have moved all music, artwork, vids, podcasts from PC to MAC... moved the iTunes files across, and my playlists are present, but in name only..the associated music to playlist didn't connect.... Two different questions..
1) do I need to backup and do something different w/ iTunes files (.itl or .xml), , if so, need instruction so I don't screw it up.......
2) my iPhone - attaching it to the MAC for first time - CAN'T lose my stuff! how am I assuring that my backed up data is now on the MAC?

The recommended process for simple self-contained libraries is:
1. Delete or rename any existing iTunes library folder on the Mac
2. Copy the entire iTunes folder from PC to Mac
3. Rename *iTunes Library.itl* as *iTunes Library*
4. Delete *iTunes Library Genius.itdb* (apparently the file is not cross-platform compatible)
5. Start iTunes
It all gets more complicated if the library isn't consolidated (i.e. all files inside the *iTunes Media* folder) and self-contained (i.e. *iTunes Media* folder inside the iTunes library folder) but essentially the task involves making the library self-contained before attempting to transfer it.

Whenever i try to import my files to FCE via "Log and transfer", it just doesn't do anything, as if FCE doesn't know the camera is there,
please help !FCE 4.0.1 can only capture DV/HDV which is produced by cameras using Mini-DV TAPES and cameras shooting AVCHD which is a high definition format.
If your camera shoots standard definition on Memory Cards, DVDs or Hard Drives it will not work in FCE.
What is your camera's exact model name and number? -
I have a white screen with Apple emblem in the middle. The little spinner is spinning and there is a bar showing it loading. When it is done loading, the mini mac goes off. Please help me.

JulieTry enabling the Personal Hotspot on the iPhone and connecting the Mac to the Internet thru it. If Facebook works ok then, that would mean the ISP is either blocking or having connection problems whereas the phone carrier is not.
Be mindful that carrier data charges can be outrageous so use this as a test first. -

First, be sure that the contacts on the devices are in the "icloud" section and not the "On my iPhone" (or iPad) section of the contact listings/groups.
Missing contacts:
Here's a test to perform - using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com and go to the Contacts page. If most of them are gone, then they are gone.
If they show up, then the problem is that your device is not connecting to the Contacts database on icloud.
On the device, go to Settings>icloud. Be sure icloud is on and using the right ID. If not, scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Delete Account - this just disconnects the device from that account, no data is lost. Then log back in using the correct ID. ALSO - be sure the Contacts are turned on (on the same screen).
Note: Contacts are not part of an iCloud backup, since they are part of contacts database on iCloud's servers. So performing a restore will not help.

Then they have been deleted. There are many reasons for this. One possibility is that someone else is using the same iCloud account (family member, etc.) and they deleted contacts, thinking they did want them on THEIR device. How to get them back? Unfortunately, an iCloud backup does not include any of the sync databases, like contacts, notes, calendars, reminders, etc. because the data is already stored in these databases. Your only hope for restoring the data is if you had that data on a computer (like a mac's Contacts, Calendars, etc.) and that data was backed up using whatever backup software you typically use (e.g. Time Machine on a mac). Just restore the data files back to the computer. Other than that, I'm afraid the data is gone. -

You can't change to 'None' until you clear up the previous payment problem. Add a fresh iTunes gift card, or add a credit card, and then once the billing issue clears, you can choose 'None' again.

Last Resort, put the iPhone in DFU mode (Google How to do that). Connect in iTunes. Follow on-screen prompts to Restore. All Data would be lost, if not backed up earlier.
To save the photographs you may have to use third party software. Google is your friend. -

Please be gentle with me, I'm absolutely new to all this. We don't have a proper DBA and I've been tasked with the role. There is no-one else in the company with oracle experience and we don't have any support. Until now I've just used enterprise manager to manage the database, but now I have a problem..
We are using Windows Server 2003 and Oracle 10g. I (stupidly) installed some network monitoring software on our server (PRTG network monitor). I almost immediately uninstalled it and all components/registry settings, but it seems to have thrown something out regards the OEM web interface.
We used to access the OEM GUI through http://<hostname>:5500/em, but after installing/uninstalling the network monitor software the OEM webpage would only stay up for a few minutes, before saying 'Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage'. Restarting the DBconsole in services fixed the problem, but again, only for a few minutes.
Spent all day yesterday looking at logfiles (they didn't make much sense to me), but seemed to be saying access was denied to the server ('actively denied it'). Lots of googling led me to believe I needed to reconfigure OEM by dropping and recreating it using:
emctl stop dbconsole
emca -deconfig dbcontrol db
emca -repos recreate
during this process I was asked for various passwords and a port number? I didn't even know what to use as the port number but guessed it was 5500 ?!? (probably wrong). As it didn't work I used the default port number that I found somewhere on the web.
However now I am even deeper in the **** as this didn't work either, (some error about listnener?) and I have now lost the DBConsole in windows services. Obviously the OEM web console doesn't work at all now
I would be eternally grateful for some patient, beginners help here..I can post whatever log files are necessary - I just need to know what I'm supposed to be doing and where to start..
We used to log on to the OEM as 'SYSTEM', but nowhere in the process does it seem to ask me for the password for that (its asked me for SYS and SYSMAN)
It could be that I'm going about this completely wrong, but with only a days experience in all this its pretty hard to know what I'm doing really!
As you can tell I'm in way over my head..I just need OEM web interface to work!

Firstly I have an error at the very top of the screen:

Also, the 'Host CPU' and 'Active Sessions' are blank and say 'No Data Is Currently Available' beneath them
my emagent.trc file contains this error, repeating with different thread IDs every 30 seconds...

When I download the digital copy of the Hunger Games, it stops at 4.0GB and first returns an error code -1309 and then the code -50. Please help me complete the download. I have tried removing the .tmp folder and downloading it again, but each time it stops the download in the same place.
I discovered the solution. The external drive I was saving it to was formatted as FAT32. In that format, the largest files can only be 4GB, which explains why it kept stopping at 4GB. I backed up all the files then reformatted it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled), this is possible since I am on an iMac.
