PC to Mac upgrade of Acrobat X

When installing Acrobat X Pro (Mac) upgrade, the installation lists only Mac versions to upgrade from and will not accept Windows Acrobat 8 or 9 Pro serial numbers for upgrading from.  The Adobe website does not state this limitation in the upgrade requirements for Acrobat X Pro.  Are cross-platform upgrades no longer allowed?  I haven't had this problem previously with PS in CS5.

They are allowed, but need to be handled via Adobe directly since they require issuing a completely new set of serials. Call support by phone ASAP.

  • How do I qualify for an upgrade to Acrobat XI MAC from Acrobat 7.0 Windows

I have Acrobat 7.0 Professional - Windows - and want to upgrade to Acrobat XI Pro for my MacBook Pro. CanI qualify for the upgrade pricing or do I have to pay the full amount?

    Hi kevinc26850405,
I can understand your concern & will guide you in the right direction.
As you have a registered copy of Acrobat 9 for windows so even if you have the setup file for Mac the serial key won't work as it is platform (operation system) specific.
I would suggest you to get the latest Acrobat version i.e Acrobat DC and you will be able to use it on any of your computer as it requires a subscription to serialize it not a serial key.
Download link for 30 days trail version of Acrobat DC Download Adobe Acrobat free trial | Acrobat Pro DC & you can serialize it using your Adobe ID.
In case if you experience any issue or have any query please let us know. We will be happy to help you.

  • Trouble Upgrading to Acrobat X Pro for Mac

Hi! I have an older version of Acrobat Pro (version 7.0), which was an upgrade to a previous version on my old computer. I'm trying to upgrade to Acrobat X Pro, but can only find my 7.0 original software disk. When I try to install 7.0 on my new computer, the installer keeps looking for a previous version, which I must have purchased 10+ years ago, so of course I can't find the original software box/disks.
How can I upgrade to the new version without my original serial number from two generations ago?
    Thanks!

Why bother? Any current version will only require the serial number of the last valid version you have, not all of the previous ones. Just go ahead and install Acrobat X normally. You will be asked to input your v7 serial somewhere along the way...

  • No PDF printer after upgrading to Acrobat X Professional

Hi, I recently upgraded from Acrobat 6 Pro to Acrobat X Pro (technically, an upgrade isn't possible but the Acrobat X Pro installer will uninstall Acrobat 6 and install Acrobat X). After performing the installation "successfully" I no longer have an Adobe PDF printer under printer and faxes.  I'm running Windows XP SP3 (32-bit).  If I uninstall X and reinstall 6 the printer comes back.  But nothing I do can get the printer there under X.  Am I missing something?

While editing is allowed its just meant to correct a misspelling here or there. Not whole sentences. Another thing that can affect light editing of PDF with Acrobat on OSX.6.7.
On some applications bad fonts (use FontBook) to verify your fonts. Open Fontbook without any applications on (such as acrobat, Reader, Ms Office). select all fonts. in click on box that shows fonts. Randomly select a font. The hold command key(⌘) press A, that selects all fonts. Look for and use Verify Fonts. Any fonts that can not be verified, or repaired with a Font reair Program should be removed.
also while all fonts are selected, look for an use reconcile Fonts. This looks for Duplicate fonts. In some cases the same application would use one version one time andanother another time thus causing spacing problems.  click on each one found and see which is duplicated. Disable the oldest version.
do this with all duplicate fonts found.
If the above corrects the problem, locate disabled fonts, User >Library >Fonts disabled and Main Library Fonts disabled remove to desktop Make archives and place archives in safe place( in case you need to swap fonts).
Next if you have X.6.7 Install this Patch: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1377. This corrects some font problems caused by the OSX.6.7 the update that affects Adobe Products, (such as Acrobat, Reader Indesign and others, As well as Microst Products for Mac)

  • Upgrading Adobe Acrobat

I haev recently upgraded my mac from a Powerbook G4 to a Macbook Air with operating system OSX 10.7.4. I was running Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard (upgraded) on my old mac, but it will not run on the new system. Can I upgrade it to Adobe Acrobat X Professional (mac) or do I need to buy the completely new version?

No, Acrobat 7.0 Standard was a prety old softwre and will not run on MAC 10.7.4. You need to switch to new version of Acrobat which is XI that will work just fine on your MAC Lion.
Acrobat X is not available any more, so, you won't be able to upgrade as well. To get Acrobat XI upgrade, you need to have atleast Acrobat 8.0.
The best option for you will be to get a full version of Acrobat XI from adobe.com or can get the subscription for Acrobat XI Pro
You can check the prices from the below link.

  • After upgrading to Acrobat X Pro, having problems editing text

I just upgraded to Acrobat X Pro from Acrobat 8 Professional. I've opened a document (created in Acrobat 8) and when I try to edit the text, it all seems fine until I try to save it. Then the formatting goes awry. The spacing between paragraphs disappears and the document is one solid block, so to speak. I've tried various methods of text editing/saving but nothing seems to work. Any thoughts? Thanks.

  • Why is Acrobat DC not recognizing my scanner after upgrade from Acrobat CC?

Two days ago I upgraded from Acrobat CC to Acrobat DC on my iMac (OS X 10.10.3). This seems to have rendered my Canon MP980 scanner inoperable. I get a message that the scanner driver(s) are not found. I did not delete any Canon drivers, only performed an Adobe suggested upgrade.
I see several others have experienced the same. One place I found a suggested workaround, but for me not an acceptable solution, is found in this KB article:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-does-not-support-twain-drivers-on-mac.html
I tried to use Mac App store Updates but it is not finding any for the scanner, as suggested in the above article.
The Cannon is on a local network (Ethernet). My Macbook Pro (OS X 10.10.3) is still running Acrobat CC without any problem using the scanner.
A real solution would be appreciated.

    Hi Anubha,
    Thanks for your help.
In Finder ...... > Twain Data Sources I found two files, "Canon MP980 series Network.ds" (1.9Mb) and "Canon MP980 series.ds" (2Mb). Next to Kind for both it says "Application". I don´t see the word "Package" or "PowerPC" or "Universal". However, under Where, it says "Macintosh HD>Library>Image Capture>TWAIN Data Source. This is also the same information I find on my Macbook Pro (OS X 10.10.3), but still running Acrobat CC (not upgraded yet, thankfully). I can still scan using my MBP.
I was able to scan using Image Capture.
I did not have time to go through the procedure of logging in as root user.
Frankly, this seems way to complicated. There has to be an easier fix to the problem.
I also checked Canon´s website for updated driver files, but there are none for Yosemite.
    Regards,
    Tor-Eddie

  • I just upgraded to Acrobat XI and found that my custom STAMPS are missing.

I just upgraded to Acrobat XI and found that my custom STAMPS are missing. Anyone know how to pull them in from the last version?
    Macintosh.
    thanks

i'm on a mac and when i search for any of those terms [Annotations, Stamps, ENU] it comes up empty. however, search on a mac is horrible....often doesn't search random folders....really bad.
i've given up and just recreated them.
of course i had an extra hour with nothing to do so that was time wisely spent
thanks much for getting back to me.

  • Cannot generate pdf in RoboHelp after upgrading to Acrobat 7.0 Pro

I just upgraded from Acrobat 7.0 to Acrobat 7.0 professional.  RoboHelp will no longer generate pdfs.  Get error "Cannot locate printer driver.  Reinstall Acrobat 7.0"
Am using RoboHelp for HTML version 6.

I don't have a compatibility chart for the versions of Acrobat and RoboHelp, not sure if that could be an issue. I assume Acrobat is working otherwise - for example, if you PDF from Word
It was the case that RH had to be installed before Word. I don't think that extended to Acrobat but it could be worth trying an uninstall and reinstall.
Also try setting Acrobat's compatibility settings to something low such as Acrobat 5.
Ultimately you may have to settle for generating to Word and creating the PDF from there.

Reason I had to chat with Customer Support is that I got the following message upon placing Upgrade Order.
What Different Country? It's the US. The ONLY placed I've lived my entire life! Apparently some software changes were made to the site and the PR Territory fell in a no-man's land.

  • Sharepoint server synch for Tracker not happening since upgrade to Acrobat 9 Pro

    Hi,
I have a user that is unable to share his comments and see updates in Tracker using Acrobat 9 Pro.  There is a warning on Server status that says "some workflows are in error."  It seems that synchronization is with the server is failing, though his connection to the network is otherwise solid.  User can go to the server and go to the folder and open the PDF folder without any issues, but synchronization with server within Acrobat 9 Pro Tracker is failing.  He can join reviews, but is unable to see other reivewers comments and can not see any of the other 8 reviewers listed, he can only see himself and the initiator.
I did verify that the initator and all reviewers are also using Acrobat 9 Pro.  Only this one reviewer is having issues, everyone else is ok.
The issue started to happen after user was upgraded to Acrobat 9 Pro. We did try a repair in add\remove programs, but this did not help.  I am wondering if there is anything on the backend, somewhere that needs to be changed.  User did go into a few other Shared Reviews on the Sharepoint server and was able to see 5 reviewers.
    Here are my questions:
    1. Is there some sort of unique identifier that needs to be changed?
    2. Can the initiator delete this one reviewer and then add him back, and would that possibly solve the issue?
    Thanks,
    Julie

  • Is anyone else having Config error 16 issue when trying to start PSE 12 or Premier Elements after Mac upgrade to Yosemite 10.10 on iMac

Is anyone else having Config error 16 issue when trying to start PSE 12 or Premier Elements 12 after the Mac upgrade to OS X Yosemite 10.10 on iMac. I have had a number of issues with software and things after upgrading to OS X Yosemite 10.10 and even 10.10.1.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled both PSE 12 and Premier Elements 12 a number of times and everything goes fine until its ready to launch and then you get an error message. Numerous uninstalled and reinstalls don't removing the problem.  Strangely enough  PSE 11 still appears to boot up and I never owned Premier Elements 11 so I don't know if it will start. I thought with Apple dropping its Apeture software and greater integration of iPhoto and Apeture files into Lightroom 5.7 all would be harmonious between these two players. Im not sure where Adobe wants us to go it recently removed the plugin to allow you to update files from LR to Adobe Revel, whats up with that. I now own two version of Adobe software that no longer work with my Mac and now way of uploading pictures from Lightroom to Revel. Needless to say I am pretty reluctant to sign on to a subscription of Creative Cloud with long term financial obligations when I can't even get my current Adobe software to work independently much less integrate with Lightroom. Frustrated with it all!

Get rid of 'put disks to sleep when possible' and you may see a dramatic improvement (not necessarily a cure).
That specific problem is a multiple-Processor (including graphics processor) problem, where one of the processors lost track of whether it should be responding to interrupts. You may have a Hardware problem.

  • After upgrading from acrobat 9.5 to XI pro my users have complained on slow typing when filling in form that were created in version 9.5?

After upgrading from acrobat 9.5 to XI pro my users have complained on slow typing when filling in form that were created in version 9.5?
The issue is they type but there is 2 second delay when it appears in the field.
    Windows 7 64bit

I see, I misread your reference to Reader 11 to mean you were using Acrobat 11, but it looks like it worked out anyway.
The base-14 fonts are special in PDF because they are guaranteed to be available even if they are not embedded. If you select a non-base-14 font for use with a form field, the entire font usually gets embedded, since each glyph it contains has to be available for use with the field. This can take up a lot of space if you do this a lot, and the space isn't reduced if you change back to a base-14 font later because the internal reference to it is not removed. This is caused by the bug I mentioned.
In your case, however, the entire font doesn't get embedded because fonts like it (e.g., large asian fonts with a lot of glyphs, Arial Unicode) would take up too much space if fully embedded. If it did, a 100KB PDF could bloat to 20MB with that one change. Instead, users are expected to have such fonts installed on their system, which is why you were prompted to install the font pack. This despite the fact that the font was not actually used by anything in your document, it was simply the orphaned reference to it that triggered this. This should get fixed in Acrobat eventually so this type of thing doesn't happen again.
