Try another usb port, preferably on the back of the tower. Also make sure itunes is already installed on said computer.

Aloha, Go to Programms>Uninstall Itunes and AppleMobile Device service from your computer or laptop.
Then re install Itunes. When Itunes finishes downloading RESTART your computer and open Itunes, plug in your Iphone immediately with USB cable and Itunes will recognize it. Apple Mobile Device service is causing the problem. Hope this helps -

HT1386 iTunes will not detect my iPhone(5s) after the most recent update.
Ever since i updated iTunes it will not detect my iPhone, every time i plug it in it asks to trust the computer which I always use to sync my iPhone. Every time i select "trust this computer" and it still won't detect it. PLEASE HELP.

Some of those things which concern itunes also help with your problem. In particular try rebooting the computer, try a different USB cable to attach the phone or try a different port -

Welcome to the HP Support forums. I understand that when trying to print from your laptop that you get a communication error message.
To better assist you, would you please provide some further information:
1) How is the printer connected (USB cable, ethernet or wireless)?
2) When you installed the printer on your laptop did you set it up with a USB cable? If yes, did you switch the connection type on the laptop from USB cable to ethernet/wireless?
3) What version of Windows operating system are you running on the laptop (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8, etc)?
4) When printing from your iPhone are you using Apple's AirPrint or HP's ePrint app?

All you have to do is this: Sync your 3GS to create a current backup. Then either: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings or restore it as a "New" device in iTunes. Both accomplish the same thing, erasing all of your data & settings from the phone. You can now give it to your sister, she can plug it into her computer, name it what she wants & sync her content to it. You then restore your 4S from the backup of the 3GS you created when you started. Follow this by syncing your content to your new phone & your 4S will look just like your 3GS.

I my macbook pro will not recognize my iphone. I had the AppleStore, re-install my original software a month or two ago, but since they did this, my computer cannot recognize my Iphone it is telling me that I also need to download the new version of Itunes, but keeps telling me my system isn't running the correct software. you need to upgrade your OSX to 10.6.8 or later to sync with the iPhone 5. as you need itunes 10.7 to run Iphone 5

I updated iTunes this morning and afterwards I went to sync my iPhone and iTunes will not recognize the iPhone. The computer will, but iTunes will not. How do I get iTunes to recognize the iPhone so I can sync. I do have the phone connected to the computer with the cable.

Windows will no longer detect iPhone camera
I'm sorry to be the millionth person to post a thread about this problem, but I can't seem to find any solution to this problem. My computer simply will not recognize my iPhone 3GS as a camera anymore, so I can't import any of my photos. Yes, it is still recognized in iTunes, and there's still a sound that plays when I plug it in to any of the three USB ports on my ASUS laptop. And yes, I have taken many pictures. The camera roll is not empty.
Some of the steps I have taken to try to fix the problem:
Restarting the phone.
Restarting the computer.
Trying different USB ports.
Trying the other Apple USB cables I have.
Stopping and restarting the Apple Mobile Device Driver and ensuring that it is set to Automatic.
Reinstalling iTunes.
Downloading and copying usbaapl.sys to the System32 folder. (It was never there, nor is usbaapl64.sys - I only see usbaaplrc.dll.)
My phone had been working just fine until very recently. Could the problem have been caused by the recent MMS update?
