pc will not recognise ipad - My computer or iTunes will not recognise ipad. The first time I connected to my PC it DID appear in ITunes - then my PC shut down and my ipad will cannot be recognised in either of my home PC's. I have tried another cable but still no
joy?
Just to add - I have tried restarting IPAD and PC - have 10.3 version of iTunes. Have also tried another port on PC!!!!!!!

I Have installed the latest update for Itunes 11.1.3.8 on windows XP. i connect my new ipad and nothing happens. I have the lastest IOS on my new ipad. I deauthorised all devices as i had 5 thinking this was the problm. I cannot find how to authorise an ipad if it doesn't appear in itunes on the computer.

I have 2mini iPads that I want for different purposes. I have 2 ipads of different sizes I have 2 computers now each one recognises my minis I have a 4gb iPod nano to play music, and an 8gb iPod touch. I will have to think how I am going to use them.
2 computers, nano, iPod touch, 16gb iPad, 32gb iPad, 64gb iPad mini x 2. That's 8 devices. Of. Course my wife and I share them. We read the books and watch the movies we don't want too have to pay twice to buy the same book or movie, but I think we will need 2 accounts. I hope home sharing will work because that the only solution I can think of. -
I recently connected my new ipad to my itunes, but now itunes will not recognise my ipod classic, and 50gig of music has gone. ipad connects ok but no longer ipod which has been there for two years! help!!!

Why is 50GB of music gone? All music should exist on the computer. Only a fool would rely on a single device which could easily be lost or stolen to store their content on. -
I have an imac running 10.5.8 (Itunes 10.6.3) and I find that it will not recognise my IPad 2. I therefore cannot download music. Can anyone advise as to how I can overcome this problem?
You need to either upgrade your computer to Mac OS X 10.6 or download the content directly from Apple's servers instead of your computer; for content not purchased from iTunes, the second option requires signing up for iTunes Match.

I have Windows 8.1 and Itunes will not recognise my Ipad, Iphone or Ipod even though it did so in Windows 7
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or by right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

I have just purchased an IPAD 2. I have tried to connect it to my DRAYTEK 2820n router but it will not recognise the correct password. My IPHONE 4 has no problem in connecting to this router using the same password. I understand that the wi-fi connectivity is the same for the two apple products so cannot understand why the IPAD will notr connect. Has anyone any suggestions?
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

only a few hours old, had an older version of itunes and the ipad showed up in that, updated itunes in order to update the ipad and now it just wont connect to itunes, absolutely typical if u ask me, i was expecting some sort of a problem with apple and i got it....
they just make everything so difficult and charge you a pile of money for the pleasure...so how am i supposed to update/sync my ipad now, my daughters worked fine as she had no older version of itunes on her pc, she downloaded the latest version and it just worked, i tried to update the ipad to ios5 and was told i had to update itunes first in order to do so, i had to use the 64 bit version and now itunes will not recognise my ipod or ipad, itunes is the only way we can transfer to our apple products and it is not working,, what a jokeif it was that easy to sort then i wouldnt be on here asking for help, its the new version of itunes that is the problem

I own a Toshiba Equium M50 and have problems with the Marvell Yukon 88E8036 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller.
I used to connect via an 'ADDON' Modem/ADSL Switch and had no problems. I then replaced the ADDON with a 'NETGEAR' DG834G ADSL Modem/Router to gain the wireless port, and since then my machine will not recognise the LAN port. <error: Network Cable unplugged>.
I know that the cables are OK as I used them with other laptops and had no trouble. I can also plug in a PCI card to connect without any problems. It looks to me as if the Marvell Yukon 88E8036 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller has a problem with the netgear Modem/Router.
Anyone out there with a similar experience and some advice/suggestions?

For me it doesnt show like a LAN card problem but your router is a problem.
Check the device manager if the LAN card was properly recognized. If there are no yellow exclamation marks so everything is ok!
You can try to delete the LAN card from the device manager and after new reboot install the LAN driver again.
The issue has stared after installing or connecting the new Netgear modem router.
Therefore I would recommend to checking firstly the settings or to update the firmware on this router.

I have attempted to upgrade os4 to os7. At the end, it threw an error that i had to turn off "Find my iphone" on my phone, which seems to be impossible at that stage as i could not access beyond the upgrade screen.
I thin chose to set up as new iphone, but icloud has taken an old expired email address for which i do not know the password. icloud will not recognise my current itunes email and password, so i now have os7 but am unable to restore from my itunes back up.
Desperately need help please... Any help appreciated

Itunes will not recognise music on my ipod?
I have recently encoutnered a problem with my 5th generation 60gb ipod which I'm hoping someone can help me with?
When I plug my ipod into my computer and open itunes, it recognises that the ipod is plugged in, but asks me to set-up the ipod, like it is the first time I have used this ipod. Also it does not recognise any of the 5,000 or so songs on the ipod.
When my ipod is not plugged into my computer all 5,000 songs still appear on it and play with no problems.
For some reason itunes will not recognise the songs on my ipod - even though I have added them all with this software and about a third of them on this computer.
If I choose to proceed with the set-up of my ipod, I am afriad I will lose all 5,000 songs off my ipod.
Can anyone offer a suggestion - as it is, I either wipe my ipod or concede that I can't add any more songs to it, even though it is only half full.
Oh yeah, I have added all files to my ipod manually.

With those symptoms, it's probably worth checking to see if you're getting a Windows drive letter confusion. For troubleshooting advice on that, see the following document:

I agree that it should not really run slow however I would really like to upgrade to Lion anyway and thought that doing it via the SSD route would be good way to do it as the SSD should help speed things up once I sort out the underlying issue at present. I also wanted to try and load lion but still have Snow Leopard available on the original drive for the time being till I knew that eveything was working well using Lion but I'm not sure if this is possible and how to do to this.
I have just clicked on 'Verify disk' on HD1 in the utility menu and there is a problem there. It is asking for me to start using another disk such as the mac installation disc but I am not sure where I have put this. Seeing as I have upgraded to SL would this now be the new installation disc and if so, do I just put the disc in the machine and restart?
