PCA Report Painter

Hi,
I have copied one PCA preort painter from another live report, in this report I need in selection criteria from period to to period. while executing the report system is deriving current period and its populating in selection critieria. But current period is not required in selection critieria. in Report Form valiables period is given as from period to to period its showing correctly. unfortunately current period also popluating on selection criteria.
Kindly let me know how additionally current period is deriving in my Report.

Thank you for the valuable inputs. I tried with variables 1PERIV and 1PERIB its populating on the selection criteria, from period to period. But still its deriving current period also on the selection criteria, current period is not required in my selection criteria,
Libriary 8A2- PCA Standard Reports. Table is:GLPCT. unfortunately in from menu bar Edit Genl data selection "Characteristics Period is not available"
Please advise a) How system is deriving current period even I have given from period to period with combination of characteristics and value fields.(in Rows)
b) and also I want display the report out put with proper titale e.g. if I execte the report for the periods 1-3 system should show output Report xxxx from Jan'2010 to March'2010. where can make this changes in the report.

Classic PCA reports in New GL environment.

Hi,
We have now implemented New GL. Also applied EHP3 . In EHP3 enviornment, there is a facility by which we can convert classic PCA reports (report tree : KE5A) into new GL, that is, practically changing the tables from GLPCT to FAGLFLEXT. This helps us in not re-creating those reports.
I have converted two reports into the New Tables. But, I am not able to see these reports seperately. That is, classic PCA reports can be accessed through KE5A transaction. What about these convered reports ?
Please advice me how to access these reports (New GL converted reports). Is there any transaction code like KE5A?
Till, classic PCA is deactivated, both will run parallelly.

Hi,
old PCA report painter reports can be migrated to NewGL reports under certain circumstances (see SAPNET note 1555535 for details).
As the NewGL PC reporting bases on the data available in the new GL tables FAGLFLEX* I think that you will miss some infos in NewGL PC reporting compared to infos available in classic PCA reporting (eg object type / object class).
Nevertheless it is possible to add fields toFAGLFLEX* but I doubt that this will be helpful in your case.

Does ECC6 have any standard Report painter libraries using New GL tables FAGLFLEXT, FAGLFLEXA, FAGLFLEXP etc.

Hi,
As Barbara said library 0FL is based on FAGLFLEXT table. You can use that library for reports based in that table. What you don't have are default reports for that library,

Report painter.....PCA reports & historical data issue

I need to create a report painter PCA report for P&L that will do the foll:
--> Consolidated P&L for 2 company codes
--> Company code 1 - YTD figures to include full year
--> Company code 2 - YTD numbers to include only 2nd half year as company 2 was acquired in middle of year
Problem is we are migrating the historical data for the last two years. I do not want the report to pick up this as part of the report.
Suggestions?

Creating variables in Report Painter

Hi ...
I would like to know ... how do I create variable ? I know it is via T CODE GS11, but when run tht, in the next screen it pops up for variable ? What variable do I need to enter ? is this predelivered Eg : CE-PK, or can we create one ? Please advise

The abpve report is inclusive of Cost Centre and Profit Centre, how acn I utilize the libraray in Report Pianter to create such report, is this possible in Report Painter whereby including Cost center and Profit Centre in one single report

When you create your variable first enter the variable name. Second enter the reporting "table" to use. Third enter the "field'. Press enter. Next enter a default value for your field. Save you variable. It is now ready to use in your report painter.
Using the PCA reporting tables gives you the profit center but not the cost center. You can only use one reporting table per report. you will need a cctr report for that.
First create your own libray from GLPCT. Next create your report using your new library. The report painter can do the calculations that you have shown.
You create a formula in the row or column to calculate your sub totals.

Report Painter for New GL

Dear experts,
I need to create a custom report with ReportPainter with the data you see with t.FAGLB03.
Since there are no standard reports for New GL, to copy and modify, i created a library by copying the library 0FL (Table FAGLFLEXT) and i stopped after :(. For example, "Lead column" must be a hierarchy of profit centers. In the "Element definition" i added "Name" - "Profit Center" and chose "Characteristic is Interpreted as Set / Hierarchy," and "Characteristic is Interpreted as variable. In the list of "Value of variable" for the "From" there is no variable that refers to the table FAGLFLEXT, PRCTR field.
What should I do? I create all the necessary variables with T.GS11, or is there an easier way? Can I use something existing?
Please, can you give me an explanation step-by-step what I should do. Any advice is welcome!

Hi Serena,
As stated you can create your own reports using the standard SAP library 0FL
you do not need to create a custom library.
One tip I have is that If you are creating reports with the Profit Center scenario active then
you can still use transaction code KE5B to copy your Financial Statement Version (FSV) groups to EC-PCA.
Even though your reporting source will NOT be EC-PCA in the New G/L, this method can still be
used as a short cut to create account groups that can be referenced as sets in Report Painter.
I used this method in the lead column for "Account Number" to easily generate a FSV style report
in report painter in the New G/L with the profit center scenario activated.

Report Painter Report for Profit Center

Hi All,
I am creating a report for profit center in GRR1.I was using library 8A3,& ledger 8A.which uses for PCA line i tems and table used is GLPCT.which shows profit center totals by period.I ran GLPCT in SE16 and found out No data selected.I see that profit center accounting is not active in my system ECC6.0
and I didn't see any line records for profit center in any of the profit center tables.GLPCA.Now if someone knidly suggets me how to achieve this report, can I still do it profit center wise or not? which library should i use in GRR1.The layout of my report is as under.Thanks

Thanks Abhijit , I can now see my report group at the bottom of the list .I assigned you full points.I posted another question regarding report painter .If you could also give me some guidance on that.When I was creating rows and updating cost elements with account numbers.I set up 3 revenue accounts and then ran the report to see if I get any data for profit centers.I did get data but when I double clicked on one of the account,it displays this messsage.I read the msg. but could not make any sense with it.for example in definning row I put account number from/to 400000- 400000    Explode. and thats a characteristic.

Diagnosis
No valid master data within the specified interval was found for the characteristic 'Account Number'.
Explanation:
For each characteristic that is processed in a report, the Report Writer optimizes the interval limits which are relevant for selecting data from the database.
Example:
A report contains the characteristic 'account', for which an account interval from 100000 to 200000 has been entered. However, if the master data validation shows that the lowest/highest account in this interval is 110000/190000, the selection will be limited to accounts 110000 to 190000 only.
The system returns this error message if no master data exists for the interval.
This error is typically caused by an invalid version. In FI-SL Special Purpose Ledger, for example, versions are assigned to the ledger and are defined in configuration. The report definition can then contain a non-defined version. A similar situation applies to controlling (cost center accounting): here, versions are assigned to the controlling area and fiscal year and can be defined in planning.
Another cause of this error is a ledger that is not assigned to the table for which the report was created.
Technical information:
The field name for 'Account Number' is 'RACCT'.
System Response
The system cancels processing.
Procedure
Check the report definition, or the specified master data, or the intervals.

Add new key figure with characteristics in report painter

Hi expert,
I am create a new report painter in GRR2 under report group 8A2 (EC-PCA: Standard Reports) and i would like to create a report show on G/L amount with segment.
When i click on first column to assign "key figure with characteristics" i am not able to find characteristics "segment".
Please kindly advice how to create in new characteristics in report painter?

Hi,
"segment" is not a characteristic of classical profit-center accounting (libraries 8A*). Its a New GL characteristic, thus create a report painter report for New GL library.

GL Account summary in Report Painter

Hi Gurus
I have a question around Report painter report. We have such reports where the Profit center is based on the PC group set-up in the PCA Master records. The result is that we can analyze our report painter reports by clicking on a heirarchy and view the output for specific PC only. We want to do the same thing for our GL accounts. For example say 10 GL accounts belong to level 1 and 5 belong to level 2. When we clisk level 1 in Report painter report, the output should be only for 10 accounts.
The issue is that I don't see any place to create GL structure like we have for PC. Can someone please help me if it possible to create suc Account summary nodes?

As advised, I created 4 basic sets with set of GL accounts in them. Each of these sets is using table FAGLFLEXT and field being used is RACCT for Account number. Then I tried to create Multiset that will contain these Basic sets. System requires me to enter RACCT field but when I try to save, I cannot. I get this error that field RACCT is used in several Set lines.

You have tried to enter sub-sets for the same table field in several set lines in a multi-set. However, the sub-sets of a multi-set must each belong to different fields ("dimensions").
System Response
The system informs you that the field cannot be used twice.

You must correct this double usage of the field before storing the set

Report Painter: Cash Flow Actual/Plan Report on Profit Center

I must create a Cash Flow report Actual/Plan/Variance Figures per Profit Center by using a report painter.
It will be created in monthly basis format, and year-to-date format (two different formats).
The format is in GL accounts instead of standard Cash In and Cash Out format.
I need to extract the Plan figures. However, we don't have planning on PCA. We are only doing plan on cost center, either revenue or cost (revenue is created as cost element category costs/reducing tax).
Should I extract it from the Cost Center Plan & add up all plan amounts of the cost centers that attached to the specific profit center? How can I do that?
What do you suggest as the best solution? Please explain briefly and using what t-code, tables and fields to extract from.

Go to Menu - > Edit -> Variation
You can set the order of the Selection Screen fields there.

Table need to be added in report painter library

HI,
Can't we add any table in report painter library (GR21) like if i add s032 it is accepted by library while 'MARD' is not accepted it gives error Table MARD is not installed in Report Writer.
what is the difference between s032 and MARD table, as both are transparent table. but one is accepted and other is not.

You can't use all tables.see the below lines for it:
Both Report Painter and Report Writer can be used to report on the following tables and tables types:
 Evaluation structures set up in the Logistics Information System (LIS). These structures normally begin with an S or ZF. Several different tables and views within the R/3 System can be added as evaluation structures.
Note: You cannot add cluster tables, such as BSEG.
CCSS is used for Cost Center Accounting (CO-CCA), Internal Orders (CO-OPA), Activity Based Costing (CO-ABC) and for cost element reports in Project Systems (PS).
GLFUNCT is used for functional area reporting in cost-of-sales accounting.
GLPCT and GLPCOP are used for Profit Center Accounting (CO-PCA/EC-PCA).
FILC is used for Legal Consolidations (FI-LC).
COFIT is used for the Controlling Reconciliation Ledger (CO-CEL).
ZZ tables are created for the Special Purpose Ledger (FI-SL).
FIMC is used for consolidations in the Enterprise Controlling module (EC-LC).
GLT0 is used for Financial Accounting (General Ledger) reports by account, company, and business area (FI-GL).
KKBC, KKBE, and KKBU are used for the Controlling Product Costing module (CO-Costing).

What is the difference between Forms and Report painter reports? (My understanding is that Forms for PCA and Report painter for Cost Center).

Reversal of +/- sign in report painter

Hi everyone,
I have created an EC-PCA report using Report Painter. There are the usual coloumns Actual Data, Plan Data,
Absolute Deviation and Deviation as a percentage of plan data. In the upper part of the report rows the revenue elements are
displayed, while the cost elements are displayed below them. Since the users didn't like the revenue accounts being displayed
with a negative sign (standard), I activated the reversal of the sign for the revenue part of the rows. But this reversal
does not have any effect on the values in the coloumns showing the relative deviation, i.e. they have the wrong sign.
Is there a possibility to reverse the values in the cells defined by the rows with revenue accounts and the coloumn
of relative deviation, but leaving the values in the rows with costing accounts unaffected?

Yes, but that would also reverse the sign folr the rows containing the cost elements, which should be unchanged.
Meanwhile I have found the solution. The formula for the coloumn "Variance in %" - formerly: (( X002 - X003 ) / X003 ) * 100 - must be changed as follows: (( X002 - X003 ) / ABS (X003) ) * 100.

Hi Adhikari,
Go to GRR2, select your report, go to Edit Menu, click on "Gen. Data Selection" and then select the Period from Available Characteristics and select the period variable from Period - To Period. First Two Character of Variable represents Standard library e.g. in below snapshot Report Library is belongs to EC-PCA Profit Center.

Report Painter - creating variables - foreign currency

Hi Abap Gurus,
in Report Painter we have a customized report to print "Financial Statement" (with a specific balance structure ). I am asked to add BLART field in selection-screen. I was thinking to create variable in GS11 transaction but I don't know if it's the right solution. The "library" is linked to GLT0 table (balance account) so how can I obtain details related to BKPF-BLART "document type" ? The second question is "how to display the Financial Statement in a different currency ? "
