PCI Card Conflicts w/ K7N2 Delta-L

I am trying to set up my system with a Radeon 7000 PCI video card (yeah, yeah, I know, I'll be getting an AGP in the near future).  By itself it works great, but when I install my wireless ethernet card (D-Link 520+ specifically), the video card ceases to send any kind of signal.  I've tried a number of different configurations for the slots, but nothing seems to work.  Is there anything I can do, or will I be forced to get the AGP card now?

    Is it IRQ conflict?

Showing no diaplay may be due to accidental knock on your VGA Card and caused the card to shift out of the slot a bit, try pressing down your VGA Card back to the slot and test again, but if you still suspect conflicts, you'll have to list us your IRQs settings.

  • K7N2 Delta NIC problem

I have noticed a problem on my machine lately, when i use the onboard NIC the cpu usage jumps from 0 to 60 back and forth and the system is unusable, when I use a 3com PCI NIC instead it works fine, anyone have any idea what the problem can be, I think I have the newest drivers and bios, but that shouldn't matter because it worked fine with the versions that I have earlier.  Any help is appreciated.
    System Specs:
    MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR Mobo
    AMD Athlon XP 1900+ CPU
1 Gig Crucial PC 2100 Ram
    Liteon DVDRW 411S
    ZIP 100 Inernal
    WD 100 and 75 Gig HD's
    Floppy
ATI 9600 PRO AGP Video Card

i have the k7n2 delta mobo and i use the onboard nic for over an year a half and here are the setting i made:
first of all, install the nforce 5.10 drivers which contains the new drivers for the onboard nic. later, u go to setting and make it work for 10mbps full duplex , optimize it for cpu and disable wake on lan.
i hope it can help you man.

  • K7N2 Delta has jibbery and garbled Video

I just purchased the FX Nvidia XT TD256 video card with the K7N2 Delta ILSR Ultra and after jumpering it to safe mode jumpers 10 and 11 i think, and clearing cmos, the screen works fine, then I restart machine, sometimes without going into bios, and video is jittery and garbled lettering. I can't get the machine to boot into windows, or even be stable enough to load windows, What could be the problem? I just purchased both of these this week, I am also using the AthlonXP 2600+ cpu, and Generic memory with TT Performance 1gig 2700, PSU 28a@+3.3v. 30a@+5v, 34a@+12v Aspire 500W, WD 80g, WD 120g, and on I/O card WD 250g HDD's. This problem occurs with every reboot, no matter what setting are in bios.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

The nforce 2 chipset is fine, dont think thats the problem because Ive built machines with the same type board and video card without any problems at all.    Do you have a different video card to try in the K7N2??     Also check and see what the BIOS version is - It might need to be updated.    Maybe try a differnt stick of ram if possible.   A little more info on the card if possible.  its a FX5200 I think, but whats the brand??   Does it have a plug ( Molex or floppy type) for extra power on the card??
One other thing to check,   Make sure you dont have an extra stand offs on the motherboard.    Some boards take more than the 6 that that the K7n2 do.   If so this may be trying to short something out.

  • VGA at PCI 3, not in AGP, Why?? (K7N2 Delta - ILSR/5600VTDR

    hi...
When i enter to see the properties of my VGA card adapter, it is in the "PCI 3"bus, why doesn´t it in AGP bus ??
i downloaded the "DMI info", the PCI 3 is "in use" and the AGP is "available".
    Is there something wrong ??
    my configuration is:
    K7N2 Delta - ILSR
    MSI GeForce FX5600VTDR 128Mb
    512Mb DDR
    Athlon 2.4 tb

Have gone into your bios and adjusted your chipset settings?  If not you need to change a few things first of all your default settings for vga are set for PCI so you'll need to change that to AGP.   Second your memory usage will need to get upped from 64 mb to 128mb.   Next you'll want to enable 8x speed and fastwrites these will increase video quality.

    Hi,
Killy your score's not bad at all!   I'm more used to 3D Mark2001SE scores but yours seem very reasonable. I get about 1,600 on 3DMark03 and I run most recent (3D games) without problem (a little slowing down here and there) but your score is nearly 3 times mine! - Quite respectable!

If your not hearing dial tone you might have your phone plugged into the wrong port. Most modems have 2 outlets, one is labeled line ( that is the one you should have plugged into the jack (RJ11C). If that's correct, query the modem and see if it tests OK, you may have a defective modem.

  • K7N2 Delta Onboard Sound Disable Question

I have a K7N2 Delta motherboard with a MSI FX5600 256MB DDR video card.  I am currently using the onboard audio.  Ever since I first built this computer I have been having nearly every game I play on it lock up and freeze.  I am thinking that it is a sound issue that is causing this problem, so I want to install a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live.  I have several questions that I hope someone can answer as I have exhausted all avenues and still don't have any answers.  Here are my questions:
       1.  How do I disable the onboard sound?  ie  Which jumper is it and what are the
            jumper settings?
       2.  Which PCI slot is recommended for installing the sound card so that I won't
            any IRQ conflicts?
       3.  Is this actually an audio problem or is there something else wrong with this
            motherboard or video card?
This is becoming very frustrating because when the computer locks up all I can do is just reset without shutting down.  I'm becoming more and more worried that if this continues unabated I'm going to crash the hard drive and have to replace it only to have the problem persist.  I hope someone can give me specific answers to my questions.  Thank you in advance for your help.

First. Is it K7N2 Delta-L or Delta-ILSR (the one with an actual Soundstorm chip on it)? If you have the actual Soundstorm chip, use it! It will sound much better than an SBLive. Assuming you have the normal K7N2 Delta-L like I have:
    1. To disable the onboard sound, first uninstall the drivers for it, then you need to go into the BIOS by holding the Delete key while you boot up. Then find the section "Integrated Peripherals" and in that section "Onboard Devices". Press Enter and find AC97 Audio and disable it. There are no jumpers.
    2. PCI slots 1, 2 and 3 are usually not shared with other stuff like you AGP or USB ports. PCI Slot 3 is the ideal choice. 1 is usually covered by your video card fan anyway. For the SBLive, on Windows XP/2000, get the newest drivers from Creative Labs. The file is named "LiveDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe" and it's file size is 23.3 MB (24,451,404 bytes). They have fixed the "nforce2 + gameport incompatibility".
    3. The problem may be audio related...or not. Which drivers are/were you using for your onboard audio? nvidia or Realtek? Actual Soundstorm chip or crappy software codec? It could also be video card related. Fastwrites? 8x or 4x AGP?

  • USB2 devices not functioning to USB2 speeds on K7N2 Delta-L

    Dear all,
Before i get the "Use search" button, i have and done it practically all day trying to find a solution.
My system: MSI K7N2 Delta-L, running on Windows XP service pack 2
4 USB ports at back panel, 2 USB ports on the D-Bracket (where there is a High Speed sticker on it)
All USB ports front or back "work" but not any allow me to use a USB2 enabled device to make it function at its designated speed.
An example is: Transfer of a 20MB file takes 25seconds... ludicrous for a newly bought Kingston 1GB USB2 complaint flash drive.
I have read the stickys, i am certain the USBOC is not connected by any wiring, the manual in K7N2 already stated that, my BIOS is at the latest version, my system is functioning correctly, no IRA conflicts by checking through device manager.
    http://www.apxc57.dsl.pipex.com/Connections.JPG
This shows that the USB2 Kingston device does not get routed to the Enhanced host controller, i do not know why, please let me know if you know!
    http://www.apxc57.dsl.pipex.com/Front%20USB%20unplugged.JPG
    A better view...
Standard Enhanced PCI to USB host controller - I'm not as certain to understand what this means. Does it mean that my board ONLY supports the Enhanced USB IF i purchase a PCI card that has USB2 ports on it??? And it means that ALL 6 of my ports onboard (including the D-bracket) are all Open HCD..........
I honestly have searched everywhere and there is NO definitive solution to this problem i'm having yet, MUCH MUCH appreciated if anyone can give a guiding light.....please !!!
    THANKS VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE...

    Interesting update... here:
I've been thinking about what everyone said here, so i was questioning whether this Kingston USB2 device is really USB2 standards.
Please take a look at here: http://scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=245123
That is the actual product and where i got it from, please just take a quick nip at the specifications.."Super Hi-Speed 24MB/sec"
As you know, i have the MSI D-Bracket 2, the exact image is found here: http://www.modsynergy.com/Modsynergy%20files/MSI-5.jpg
You can see from that image, that it clearly displays a "High speed, certified USB" from the red/blue logo.
A description that distinguishes between "High speed, certified USB" from "Certified USB" can be found here: http://www.everythingusb.com/usb2/faq.htm
Near to the lower end of the page.
Now... interestingly i now notice the back cover of the USB2 Kingston drive in which it was concealed in, take a look here:
    http://www.apxc57.dsl.pipex.com/KINGSTON.jpg
Cast your attention to the Red Circle i have done. It doesn't say High speed certified, it just says Certified USB.
SO, let me quote from "What are USB Hi-Speed and USB Basic Speed logos? These logos are part of USB Promoter Group?s branding program that ensures the quality of USB products. The USB 2.0 certified products would display a blue, white and red logo, bearing the words ?Certified? and ?Hi-Speed.? The classic USB 1.1 certified products would display a black and white logo with the words ?USB? and Certified.?"
If my USB2 kingston device is really USB2 and support the 24Mb/sec transfer rate, the box should in fact have a high speed logo not a black/white one correct???
Thanks for reading, i'll get in touch with the supplier i think... probaly RMA come saturday.

  • Problems with K7N2 Delta mobo

Hey I'm new here because of a problem I've had with the K7N2 Delta motherboard.  I've done some research and I've noticed the problem appear to other users of this mobo as well.  Before I bought this mobo I had a soundblaster live! value sound card and when I intalled this mobo I thought I wouldn't need my soundblaster soundcard so I stored it away.  Well after a few months my pantience ran thin on this mobo's sound problems.  For one, it keeps making this static like sound sometimes, so I tried to install my soundblaster sound card on the new mobo, I downloaded the lastest driver for it and changed my default sound driver to the soundblaster live! that I have but it made no sound at all.  After removing the nvidia nForce 2 sound driver I had on my mobo to see if it would help I still had no luck in making my soundcard work.  Is it possible that the soundcard is conflicting with the mobo's internal audial capability?

    Hi,
Vampir, and welcome to the forum
Try putting your your soundcard in PCI slot 3.
Is it the -L version or the ILSR version motherboard you are using!
Read this the thread at the link below then repost!:
    Nobby's Moan Guide
Btw, how many IRQ's do you have 16 or 23?
To find your list of IRQ's:
Go to Start>Run> Then Type: "msinfo32" (without quotes). The "System Information" window should now be open. Click on + "Hardware Resources" in left pane - then on IRQ's in the list that appears below it. You should now see a list of all IRQ's in the left panel! Which can be cut and pasted if you wish!
They can also be found in Device Manager!

  • K7N2 Delta IL-SR

OK Masters - I hope you can help me
I am not a techie but I have recently brought a K7N2 Delta IL-SR Mobo, using an AMD XP 2600 chip.
Everything is fine except when I play a game - The CPU usage goes to 100% and then it hangs.
The PC Alert 4 says CPU temp is 47 degrees c. The strange thing is I played this game for a couple of weeks before I started to have these problems. I have updated the Bios using the LIVE Update on the MSI web page.

Whats up with this thing? I ran the same game on an old PIII 750 without any problems.
    All help appreciated.
