PCI Clk Auto Detect

Ok, i just got my MSI P965 Neo working! :D
I'm playing a bit with the settings now, and I've gotten as far as a perfectly stable system with FSB@ 310, Mem @ 667. So I'm quite happy with it.
One thing I'm wondering though is the BIOS (bios 1.6f) option: PCI Clk Auto Detect. What does it do? On what setting should it be (enable/disable). I want my PCI(-e) bus te be locked! (@ 100) which is not an option on the P965 Neo. I assume the BIOS setting has something to do with it. But with which setting do I set it to always be @ 100?
thanks in advance guys, great forum this with a lot of usefull stuff!
P.s. look @ https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=105102.0 for my concerns

PCI Clk Auto Detect:
This BIOS feature determines whether the BIOS should actively reduce EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) and reduce power consumption by turning off unoccupied or inactive expansion slots.
When enabled, the BIOS will monitor PCI and memory slots and turn off clock signals to all unoccupied and inactive slots.
When disabled, the BIOS will not monitor PCI and memory slots. All clock signals will remain active even to unoccupied or inactive slots.
It is recommended that you enable this feature to save power and reduce EMI.
Disable this option will keep forced signal to all PCI/DIMM slots doesn't matter its used or not. (this may help if some of device is not detected by mainboard)

  • Bios Crash while auto-detecting SATA!

Greetings! I just bought a new system (species follow bellow) with a K8N SLI Platinum board. I noticed a huge bug in my bios (v 3.0, original and latest available at present). While auto-detecting any SATA drives, bios crashes and strange characters are written at the bottom of the screen (se pictures). It makes no difference if there are any IDE drives plugged in no not, (I’ve tried removing all, even ATA and Floppy). This error make it a hard time for windows to boot properly from my sata drive and I wonder if this really could be just an early version bio bug, or if it’s something physically wrong with my board.
Of course I’ve tried a lot of different bios setups, even flashing the bios with the same version downloaded with DigiCell, but nothing seams to affect the case.
I took a few (blurry) pictures of the crash which are available at http://www.ekhagen.org/temp/msi_k8n_bios
Any suggestions are appreciated, I really don’t like to return my board to the seller if it’s not necessary, but I rather not stay with this problem forever.
    System specifications:
    MSI K8N SLI Platinum
    AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1.8 GHz Socket 939
2*512 mb TwinMOS PC3200 DDR-DIMM (tried with other manufacturers too, as well as changing memory slot around according to the recommended memory combinations, and no difference)
    Asus EN6600GT GeForce 6600GT 128MB PCI-E
Sata hrd drive: Samsung SpinPoint P80 160GB

OK. I'm empty of ideas of how to go forward with this now, so I just write the story and hope that someone can help. You have to excuse my spelling, since I don't have any spell-checking on this computer I guess there will be a lot of errors.
I Followed the FAQ mentioned abowe as well as possible (the bios of my SLI Platinum seamed to be slightly different, i.e, settings placed in different submenus, compared to the bios refered to in the FAQ). Here is tre result:
The bios-part of the setup went really well, after defining a RAID array the strange bios craches when auto-detecting sata-disks dissapeard and everything else went as expected. But there the good parts ended. All other bios settings was unchanged after loading failsafe defaults.
I started the installation of windows (a swedish XPsp2) but after loading the nvidia sata-drives from the floppy, just before the first installation menu screen appears, the windows setup craches and the computer reboot. I tried the latest winXPx64 downloaded directly from Microsoft and the same thing happens when trying to install (for the raid-driver disk I took the nessesery files from the Nvidia nForce 64-bit installation package and put on a floppy).
After some retrys with different settings in windows I was able to se the blue-screen instead of directly rebooting and it said MACHENE_CHECK_EXCEPTION. This havn't told me much so far since this exception seams to occur by a milion different reasons, often related to hardware errors or incompability. Finally I ran into the OnBoard Sil3132 Mode setting, found under Integrated Periferials -> Onborde Device. This was set to SATA as default, but when I changed it to RAID the windows setup no longer crached before the first menu, and I was able to complete the first part of the setup corectly (until the first reboot).
After reboot I simply recieve a black screen instead of windows loading. After a couple of retrys, again switching settings in bios as well as changing sata-channel for my hd, I by coincidence leave the black screen alone for a couple of minutes, and then finally windows manage too boot corectly and the installation continues. While installing devices, just after worning that the nvidia raid-drivers being installed havn't passed the windows driver control, the screen blinks, as is does when identifying new video drivers, whereby the familar blue screen with the MACHENE_CHECK_EXCEPTION appears.
Here I'm stuck, I'm not even shore that the MACHENE_CHECK_EXCEPTION is realted to the other problems with sata. I've tried changing ram without result, and I do not have much other things inside the computer, except my GeForce 6600GT and the Entermax 430w power supply, which I have no replaces for.

  • Mac wont mount disk images, and fails to auto detect some usb devices.

for some reason, all of a sudden, my mac won't mount disks. even disks I know in the past have worked.
also, it wont auto detect some external devices. especially jump drives and hard drives and audio interfaces. It has to be rebooted with the the devices connected.
I know its not a hardware problem, because everything runs smooth in windows on this computer.
I did some extensive cleaning recently, and installed a lot of new stuff, but i don't know what could be causing this.
any help would be greatly apreciated!

    This USB faq may help.
An SMC reset may help you mount disks.

Firefox 4 was working fine. Then one day, when I started up Firefox, it says "Proxy is refusing connections." I solved this by selecting "Auto-Detect Proxy" from Advanced network settings, but my changes are not saved and upon every start-up I must select it again! • IMac always auto detects for external monitors after waking from sleep or from display off

I've got a Dell 24" monitor (2408WFP) plugged into my mid 2011 iMac via DVI cord and thunderbolt attachment. Things work fine.
When I need to leave my computer, I usually turn the displays off using the shortcut keys: CTRL + SHIFT + EJECT
This works perfectly and both displays go black. However, when I return to my computer and reactivate the iMac, the iMac display will turn blue as if I have just plugged in a new monitor even the external monitor is still plugged in. It usually flashes blue twice before displaying the password prompt. I can usually just log back in as normal. I've never had this happen before using Snow Leopard. It's annoying but strange.
However, even more strange is that sometimes when returning to the desktop, the iMac will do the auto detect display thing and then when I log back in, the external display just shows static as if there is no signal. I've checked the cable a million times and everything is as tight as tight can be and both ends are plugged in properly. Unplugging the displayport adapter from the iMac and then reattaching it restores the desktop on the secondary display although sometimes, it results in the secondary display showing a gray background picture instead of my normal picture. Replugging the secondary display seems to fix that too although sometimes it doesn't.
    Why is this happening?
    - Problem with the adapter?
    - Problem with the DVI cable I'm using?
    - Compatibility issues with my external monitor?
I need to stress the point that this has never happened before with Snow Leopard.
If I am the only one experiencing this then I suppose it may be an issue with the iMac or adapter or even the cable. But if anyone else can shed light on this problem, I'd really appreciate it.

    Hi Micheal,
I've been experiencing the exact same issue with my new iMac I just bought.  I bought it refurb so I wasn't sure if it was a defect with the hardware or not.  Since I'm not the only one I will asume it's not for now.
    Setup:
    - iMac 27-inch 3.4GHz (Release May 2011)
    - Dell 2709W external monitor
    - Hooked in with mini display port to DVI adapter
    - Lion 10.7.3 all up to date to this day
From what I've been able to gather the issue presents itself only when my Dell 2709W enters "Power Save Mode" after I do CTRL + SHIFT + EJECT or when the diplays simply goes to sleep by themselves.
Although if I hit that combination and the displays goes to sleep but I don't wait long enough for my Dell monitor to actually "Power Save Mode" (wait like 2 sec) then touch the keyboard then the 2 displays (iMac and Dell) resumes from sleep without the issue presenting itself.
I'm tempted to buy the mini-display port to HDMI just to see if the issue is still present with that adapter.  If I do I'll update my post with the outcome.
If anyone else has any info to help with this issue it would be greatly appreciated.  It's very annoying when you resume from sleep and you find all of your windows that where opened on the external display before sleep squeezed into your main display (iMac).
    Thanks!

  • MFEFX1 not auto-detected on SLM224P-G5

I have been fighting with a pair of Linksys switches, on and off over the past days. What I want to do is very simple, uplink two swtiches via a Fiber connection.
I have been supplied with equipment, which on paper is compatible, but in reality seems incompatible.
    I have:
    - 2 x MFEFX1
    - 1 x SLM224P-G5
    - 1 x SRW224G4
    - (also a SRW224P - aparently after some digging listed as incompatible with the MFEFX1)
I have upgrade the firmware on the SRW224G4 to 1.2.2b to support the MFEFX1.
    I have Firmware 1.0.1 on the SLM224P, listed as auto-detecting the MFEFX1.
According to the (now seemingly unavalable) document: "Linksys100M-SFP-SwitchSupport-noteV1.3.pdf" all the above should now be supported.
I have updated the port configuration on the SRW224G4, and this shows "100M-ComboF" and seems to be OK.
On the SLM224P, however, I see the port as a "1000M-ComboF" and the link stays down.
I see a led light-up on the SRW224G4 for the connection, but nothing else.
At this point I wish that I was supplied with the Gigabit Fiber modules that seem to be more compatible with the various switches (including our SRW224P - that detects the MFEFX1 as a 1000M-ComboF device. I tried this before finding the above 'compatibility' document).
Can anyone supply me with some information so that I can get this fiber connection working? Trying to set any options on the SLM224P to tell it to use only a 100M connection gives an error about this being a 1G port and so can only run a 1G speed.
    Thanks for any help

    aponikikay, thanks for the feedback.
The document linked is the quick-start guide that came printed with the miniGBIC. I did see that list. It looks like the other document (Linksys100M-SFP-SwitchSupport-noteV1.3.pdf) might not be so acurate.
I am going to have the SLM switch replaced by a SRW224G4P that is listed as supported. I just wonder why I was supplied with the one set of equipment in the first place...

  • No auto-detection of new projects in Workspace? Only Import possible?

I got the project sources for a new project from a friend. I extracted all the stuff in a subfolder of the Workspace of FlexBuilder
and expected that FlexBuilder will automatically recognize this new project and add it to the Flex navigator.
But this was not the case.
Is there really no auto-detection of new projects in Workspace?
Even no "refresh" or "Scan Workspace"?
The only way I found is an explicit "import".
    Correct?
    Peter

As far as I know, I don't think so, it's because the way Eclipse works, you know these so-called workspaces, for these Eclipse generates a lot of files for instance to keep track of changes in your files, so in a case you make a mistake and messed up with your code you could compare what you did wrong with local history, or for example to remember what files you left open in your last session and so on.

  • Auto-Detect Form Fields from Word 2007

LiveCycle 8.x fails to detect form fields from form documents I've created in Word 2007. I also notice that Word 2007 documents saved as Word 2003 documents do not convert the text fields either (text fields static).
Is LiveCycle 8.x compatible with Office 2007 or does it depend on the conversion from 2007 (.docx format) to 2003 (.doc format) before creating the PDF then detecting and placing the fields?

I could tell it not to run in Acrobat 9 but can’t figure out how to do that in version 11. When I use the Create Form command, I get a series of windows that guide me through the process of creating the form. Unlike Acrobat 9, none of those windows includes an option for not running auto detect. At the end of the process, the form is created with fields. The only solution seems to be to let Acrobat create the fields, and then delete them all and manually create the fields I want. Thanks for your feedback.

  • Browser/Device Auto Detect

Because of the problems we are having getting hotspots etc. to work on multiple browsers in HTML5, we decided to publish to both SWF and HTML5 and let the auto detect decide what to launch.
I was assuming that if you were on a standard desktop machine running IE or Chrome with the shockwave plugin, it would deliver SWF. It does not.
How do I get this working? Have I misunderstood how it's supposed to work? If memory serves, it worked this way in version 7.

As far as I'm aware, it's just an HTML file and the file name of the multiscreen.html can be changed to whatever you like. You should be able to change the name to what you want.
The problem is if you were to choose to rename it to index.html. If you did that, you would need to massage it so it calls the appropriate file for the HTML 5 stuff. Well, you would likely also have to first rename the existing index.html because you wouldn't be able to rename it using that name until you did.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Auto-detect/redirect script for JDK 1.6?

I work for a nonprofit organization and am in need of an auto-detect/redirect script. In order to hear the audio on specific pages, the computer needs to have JDK 1.6 installed on their computer. Is there a script I can insert in these pages so that if their computer does not have JDK1.6 installed, it will automatically give them a message that JDK 1.6 needs to be installed as well as a link to download it, if they want to hear the audio? If they do have JDK 1.6, there is an automatic redirect to go directly to the page they clicked to see and hear.
Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

When using -target it is best to also set the bootclasspath to include the JAR files of the release you are targetting. The compiler has found the new method taking an int in the newer JAR file and so compiled for that. If it was looking at the old class it wouldn't have found the (int) version so it would have generated the (double) version.

  • Not auto detecting wifi out of clamshell mode

I have a MacBook Air and when opening my laptop out of clamshell mode my wifi will not auto detect the closest connection point. The current work around is to right click and select the appropriate connection. While this is ok, I would really like the auto detect to work properly.
I do have the automatic find selected in Network Preferences.
    Looking for any solutions.

I'd be curious to go buy an old Linksys WRT54G Wifi Router and see how the iPads work on it....but my lord, I have already spent so much time on this issue as it is.

Unless you get that WRT54G for free or next to free, pass on it and pick up an old apple WAP off eBay or similar site. Like you my iPad has a connectivity problem with the WRVS4400N running iOS 4.2.1, where it didn't have trouble with iOS 3.2.2 and ran fine for five months.
My solution at the office was to spur a second router off my DSL router just for the iPad. The first was a WRT54G that had to be set to only one 802.11 protocol to keep the iPad reliably connected, but swapped it out for an old airport extreme that I kept on after testing it to be good. With a home network like you describe, I would run a subnet off the WRVS4400N just for iPad using an apple WAP (the configuration app for Windows is easy to use).
    Good luck.

  • User Interface - auto detect does not work

I have added the jQuery Mobile User Interface with Theme 50 to an old APEX 4.1 Application.
When adding the new User Interface i checked the "auto detect" feature in the old User Interface.

Select whether the appropriate user interface should be automatically detected. If auto-detection is enabled, the user will be redirected to the corresponding login page or home page.
When calling the Application (only with the application-id) from my nexus 4 smartphone the application does not switch to the mobile Login page.
Do i have to change any old settings or themes?

  • Faces not auto-detecting

Faces frequently fails to auto-detect faces in photos. I have several pictures where the initial scan produces no faces to be named, even when the faces in the pictures are front-on and unobscured.
On the other hand, I frequently get 'faces' auto-detected on things like peoples arms, legs, speaker grills, etc.
Is this an indication of a problem with Faces, or is it par for the course?

Thanks, that was what I was afraid of. In general, Faces is excellent. As you said though, it is far from perfect.
