PCI Express Xtreme Audio Quest

I have an audio cable connecting from my keyboard output to the soundcard input but the sound is not coming out the speakers when I press a key. Can anyone help? This worked fine with the soundcard it came with but I can't get it to work with the SB card I just installed. All other sounds come through fine.

As the model name says; PCI Express -> you can connect this model into a PCI Express slot (x, x4 or x6 type slot). Remember always read the Requirements part too.
If your Motherboard doesn't have one then your card has more use in your bookshelf.

  • No sound from my PCI express xtreme x-fi sound card

I am having issues getting fallout 3 to work on my new pc so someone told me to disable my intergrated sound card(realtek) cause SB and RT could be conflicting. When I did I ended up with no sound at all with my soundblaster card. I am wondering maybe I didn't plug it in correctly? I am using a cyber accoustics headset. The problem still occurs with Fallout 3 and seems to be coming from the card.

Re: No sound from my PCI express xtreme x-fi sound card? On your system, make sure you power down and then turn your system on again and enter your computer's setup program. Look for onboard sound or integrated devices, or lastly Sound Codec such as Realtek. Make sure to totally disable this. Then once you save your changes, restart your machine and enter windows then go to control panel, and sound. Go to playback and then see if you have X-FI listed. Choose "set as default" if it is not listed. Then click speakers once and choose properties and and levels and make sure you have your volumes for each channel raised.
Sometimes when you have onboard sound and you disable it its drivers still tell your system that it is your primary sound device and your system still looks for it rather than the Creative.
also check in your control panel, under programs and features and make sure you have removed all traces of your REALTEK sound software. Try a reinstall of your Creative software to make sure it is reinstated as the primary sound device and lastly, reinstall Direct X.
make sure all speaker jacks have been removed from your Realtek and plugged into your Xtreme x-fi.

I assumed these were uni'versally compatible with PCs but when I opened my Dell tower it doesn't seem to fit in a slot. Can anyone think of anything I'm doing wrong? or are they not compatible with most PCs?Thanks for any help!

  • Issues related to Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCI Express 1)

Hi, I've recently bought a SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCI Express edition).
Before I address my issue, I'd like to point out that my rig is:
    Maximus Extreme (mobo)?
    Q6600 (cpu)
    ATI4870 (vid card)
    4Gigs of DDR3 (ram)
and my OS is Vista Home Edition (32 bit precision)?
And so after physically installing the hardware, I quickly installed everything there was on the CD- this included the drivers available on the CD. After this installation, I restarted then found most recent updates via online sources (creative.com). But even after all of this, I wasn't able to get my microphone to work. Now from my understanding, the jack is shared between Line-In and Microphone and I'm supposed to configure this setting. And so I tried to do that, but my only problem was that I was unable to use any of the available features. After researching for a few hours I found out that I, appearently have to uninstall everything that I had installed and then reinstall everything from online sources (from creative.com-- latest drivers for vista 32 bit). But even then, I still can't use my mic or configure the settings so that I could use microphone instead of Line-In.
Now going back to my actual question, how do I configure the settings so that I could use Microphone instead of Line-In?

ERe: Issues related to Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCI Express )[ Bumping.
    Almost the same problem here.
Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio edition, Windows 7 64bit.
I downloaded the latest driver from the Creative site, installed it, update with the update manager and then i installed the console.
Issue number : I DONT have your same console. I dont have a "Mode" button, im stuck in Entertainment Mode. I cant control almost nothing and i dont have all the options u have.
Issue number 2: My mic isnt working good. It's VERY low on volume, i cant be heard without the +20db boost (the only boost option i have, i cant boost more) and even with that acti've that's not that loud.
It is still working good with my onboard realtek soundcard. I cant understand what's the problem and how to solve it.
Ah, my headset is a Creative Fatality.

  • Explain me something about X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI-Express version

@Explain me something about X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI-Express version? Hello,
I have a question about this card.
I've received my pc week ago and as I didn't know what to take about sound card (contrary to other pieces) and I didn't want integreted one, so I took the X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI-Express. I didn't want to fall intro trap of X-Fi Xtreme Audio (normal) which isn't an X-Fi one in fact... BUT according to Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_Blaster_X-Fi#X-Fi_Xtreme_Audio ) Apparently mine isn't an X-Fi too? It's just a CA00 chipset one which 7. support?
With all the problems I have (sounds leave and come back without my intervention, or begin to be like headphone mode, you know, compressed sound), I would like an answer. This card is or isn't a "real" X-Fi sound card or it's just a poor Audigy?
Or CA00 is enough good contrary to EMU20?
Because the titanium one isn't so expensi've, I could go for it. (Yeah I'll ask to my sellor if I can give them back my sound card if I have too many problems!)

D Oh yeah by the way, I'll make the most of this topic to ask you why it's possible to activate the bass settings on console launcher and not in the other application "Audio Sound Panel" (sorry for my english, mine is in french) and why I can't set the bass and treble like I did on my Audigy

  • SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI-Express and XFX 9800GT graphics c

    Hi
I have just bought a SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI-Express card and looked at the motherboard where I have a XFX 9800GT graphics card installed and noticed the PCI-E slot where it attatches to the motherboard is right next to the graphics card and I am concerned it may cause air flow ventilation problems for the fan on the graphics card. The gap is about 2 mm.
.Does anyone think think this may cause the graphics card problems?
    2. Is there an adapter/extention?lead that can be?connected to the PCI-E slot so I can attatch?the X-Fi Extreme card so I can move it away from the graphics card ?
Any ideas on this much appreciated.
    Mack

The only way your going to know the answer to is by measuring the cards tempds before and after installing the sound card.
Graphic cards run with certain temp limits, and I guess there must be one for yours.
No idea on 2...all google throws up is "PCI Express to PCI Adapter".

  • S/PDIF options for PCI Express X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card non-existant!

Hey guys, I've been searching around for this for a while now and I still come up with anything...
I currently have a PCI Express Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card installed in my PC, and this cound card has a built-in optical output port. I have been trying to set the sound card to use this port and I still can not find anyway around it.
I have searched the support pages and they always go back and say that I can enable audio on that port using the Digital I/O icon in the media console (I'm in Entertainment mode btw, doesn't seem like I can change that). However, I don't have that icon present in my media console. I tried upgrading drivers, updating software but still to no avail
So right now i'm running Windows XP (32-bit) and what seem to be the latest software and drivers for this card, and none of this is making any sense to me and so I believe that I am going mad!
I am honestly starting to believe that the port is just there for decoration...

This seems to be a fairly common issue across out in the market.
Do you not think it would be worth while chasing this down internal to Creative and sharing the solution with everyone?
Pointing us one at a time to support for what should be readily available drivers doesn't make a lot of sense.

  • Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCI-Express) + Vista 32bit an media pla

Hi folks,Maybe someone here can help me with this issue, I recently bought a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7. Sound Card - OEM (PCI-Express), it arri'ved with the cd with software and drivers on it and i installed it into my vista 32bit without any problems. On rebooting my sound was working normally and as far as i could tell all was great untill that is i went to play some mp3 using windows media player, wmp kept telling me it couldnt play the file type then i tried to play a wma file an got the same thing, basically almost all audio types will no longer play in wmp. I rolled back the driver to use the microsoft driver (high defination audio device) and everything is playing in media player again.Only now i cant use the software suppiled with the card. Anyone have any idea how to use the creative driver and get wmp to play properly thanks in advance.
(in addition) after some messing around with various settings i discovered that this seems to be caused by the sb enhancements, when i disable them in speaker properties wmp plays as it should, althought i am rather disappointed that i have to disable the features on the card inorder to get it to work properly.

  • PCI Express X-FI Xtreme Audio - Mic and mixer problems

6PCI Express X-FI Xtreme Audio - Mic and mixer problems' Trouble started two days ago when I updated to the latest X-FI drivers. Now I have no mixer and I can't figure out how to get my mic to work. The only thing that has changed is the updating of drivers. I am using senheiser headphones with mic for use on ventrillo. In the old set up I could go into the mixer and tell the software that the Line-In was a mic and it would work perfectly. Now I can't get the mic to work at all since there is no creative mixer. The windows mixer doesn't allow you to do anything worth wild.
I don't have the old software so I can't go back to the old setup. I am using Vista 64. What the heck am I doing wrong? Why won't the software now recognize that I am plugging in a mic!?!?!?
    BAH!!!!
    PLEASE HELP!

Doesn't Vista have some sort of automatic checkpointing feature that gives you a way to back up to a point before you updated the drivers?

  • Need help with PCI Express X-Fi Xtreme Audio - Vista

Hi, bought this card pci exprss x-fi xtreme audio and installed, had a lot of problems in vista 64. Using a logitech z5500 5. soundsystem and first tried using the optical spdif to get DTS etc working but to no joy... Started using the 3.5 kables but nothing there either. And I cant find options to set the treble and base? the sound is really medioker as it is now.
Using the latest drivers for the card issued in may 08, latest alchemy and console files. what to do?
    Dave?

    To Collipa and Dudeface:
If you installed the support pack for the card but still have driver problems, have you used windowsudpate under Windows 7? Creative submitted a basic driver for the card that shows up in driver options under Windows Update. If you can let Windows Update install that driver, then you can update AFTER rebooting with the new one.
If that windowsupdate did not work, try this:
Download the newest driver for your card. Then, if you already have winace, winzip, winrar or even the free 7Zip, then you can right click that Creative executable file and then choose to........extract to......and do so to a temporary folder on your desktop or say, c:\Creative driver.
Then go to device manager and sound video and game controllers, and to your problem sound card, click driver, and update driver and browse my computer for software, and "let me pick"? and "have disk" and then browse to.......
    C:\Creative driver\Install\wdm
Whereever you downlaoded the file to, the important directory is the INSTALL\WDM and choose OK and it should show Creative X-FI. Let it copy files, and it does take awhile, and then reboot and see if your sound card works.
here is the newest driver for your card:

Thanks a lot for this link. So Creative MediaSource Player should be on the CD of Xtreme Audio. When I remember right this was also on the CD of my Soundblaster USB 2 NX.And with this player?it worked well to record line in sources as mp3.
