PCI-GPIB/Win2000 blue screen-resolved yet?

Hi,
I have been kind of out of the loop lately, so can anybody enlighten me
on the subject?
Has the blue-screening (BAD POOL CALLER) error with PCI-GPIB board under
win2000 resolved yet and everything is hunky-dory, or it's still there?
Sincerely
Yuri

Hello-
This error is caused by a faulty process that does not close GPIB sessions. With these orphan sessions, a call to open another GPIB session will cause Windows to assert this screen.
The solution to the problem is to call ibonl(ud,0) for each session that is open. This typically needs to occur just before terminating the process using GPIB.
If this solution is not working, please write back.

  • WRT330N+ Wireless-G PCI / USB adapters=BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH

I am using the current version of software, nothing has changed except the router, computers come into windows and BAM!!!!!! 4 different types of blue deaths. Have tried on 4 different computers, doesn't matter, usb, pci. The REAL question is... Do I really have to use a NON-linksys product with my LINKSYS router in order to not have these problems? My settings for the router are wireless N Mixed, so theoretically, I should be able to use wireless G cards right? I also have 3 other laptops with off-brand wireless cards that work perfectly with my setup. Maybe someone would like to pay me for my cards so I can go buy NON-linksys products? Is this covered in the warranty? I'm sure you have other people with these problems. Get back to me -Nathan

    nbarger,
can you please specify the error message you are getting on these BSOD's you mentioned? what wireless cards do you have on the computers? it would be nice if you mention the specific model numbers also. Regardless of B or G, it should still work with the N router, I am on one right now and I dont think there should be any compatiblity issues with it.
    let me know the errors

  • PCI-GPIB Card with Visual Basic gives blue screen and re-boots PC

The application makes the "ibsic" call then "ibln" to find devices on the bus. Running the VB program the first time is fine, but if you end the program and re-run a second time, you get a blue screen and the PC reboots when the program reaches the lines that make the first call to the NI-488 functions. If you close out of VB and then restart VB, everything is OK again.
    What is wrong?

    Hi,
Here's an article that describes the most common blue screen when using VB:

  • Blue Screen (STOP: 0x00000050) when using multiple Agilent34970A devices with a single GPIB

    Hi,
I am using two test fixtures that contain two Agilent34970A Multimeters and two Sorensen Power Supplies (each test fixture is contaning one Multimeter and one Sorensen Power Supply) that are connected via GPIB cables to a single PCI-GPIB card. Below I have attached two VI's. GPIB_Communication_Experiment_1.vi (Test Fixture 1) and
GPIB_Communication_Experiment_2.vi (Test Fixture 2) are used to run self test on the
Agilent34970A multimeters. GPIB_Communication_Experiment_1.vi is talking to one of the Agilent Multimeters and one of the Sorensen Power Supplies (Address 9 for Agilent Multimeter and Address 2 for Sorensen Power Supply) whereas GPIB_Communication_Experiment_2.vi talks to the second Agilent Multimeter and its Sorensen Power Supply (Address 10 for the Multimeter and Address 3 for the Sorense Power Supply).
The Problem occurs when I try to run these two VI's simultaneously where it generates a "blue screen of death" with a Technical Information : STOP: 0x00000050 (0xF8AC00440, 0x00000000, 0x8041889, 0x00000000).
This Problem only occurs when trying to run the executables that were built from the attached VI's.
I have tried to use VISA CLEAR within the while loop as you can see in the VI however it did not improve things.
I have also uninstalled and re-installed the software for my PCI-GPIB card but that seemed not to work either.
At this point I am confused.  If I try to run only one Test Fixture at a time I have no problem doing the Self Test on the Agilent Multimeter, yet every single time if I try to run the two test fixtures together I am  gettig the blue screen.
Besides the two executable VI's I have also attached the regular VI's
I would really appreciate your help, thanks in advance for your time.

    Hello aps7828:
If I read that correct, you only get the error when you run the executables and not the VIs. Can you take a look at your processor level while one .exe is running. I am wondering if that is the source of the problem.

  • Using OSX 10.7.4.  After waking, I frequently get blue screen and have to restart to resolve.  Help???

I frequently get a blue screen of death after waking from sleep. I have to restart the computer to resolve the issue. This problem only began about a week ago, long after I updated to 10.7.4 on my iMac.

Mac OS X 10.6 Help- If you see a blue screen at startup
You may need to reinstall Lion:
Reinstalling Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

  • Two PCIe-6537 read error and blue screen of death

    Hi all
I am reading two PCIe-6537 at 20MHz sample rate acquiring all 32 lines each with externally supplied clock and external trigger.
When operating separately, no problem, but when two are read I get
    a) on average of 25% of time error reading the data (time out error but happening before the actually time set by timeout, i.e. immediately after trigger)  and
    b) a blue screen of death after 1h or so of constant operation.
I have a feeling a) and b) are related and LV causes the system crash with so many errors. NI support seems to think otherwise.
I am using Dell Studio XPS 8100 and I have done all the firmware updates for the Chipsets etc. It has
    not changed anything.
Changing single line to whole port reading does not change anything.
Any ideas what to try else?

    Hello Pawel,
I have looked over the service request you mentioned about acquiring 2 PCIe-6537 at 20MHz sampling rate on all 32 lines. In order to narrow down this issue, I think it would be best to try only acquire from both cards without doing any triggerring etc. Also when performing this test, I would only want to acquire from 8 channels on both cards to see if this reproduces it. If this works, we can slowly add more elements to narrow down what the issue is and make us more effective to solve the problem.
I also wanted to ask if you have tried this setup on another machine and if it worked.
Along with this, have you tried to create two Digital Tasks in MAX and try to acquire for the same amount of time to see if the issue reoccurs here? This would tell us if this problem is connected to the driver/computer or LabVIEW.

  • Blue Screen of Death after GPIB Software Drivers 2.1 install, nipsbfw.sys, nipalk.sys

I get a blue screen of death after I upgraded the GPIS Software Drivers to 2.1. The screen complains about the following files: nipsbfw.sys and nipalk.sys.
I'll copy down the exact message and post it...

    Hello fkwok
First, make sure GPIB software driver 2.1 is the correct driver for your operating system and board by clicking here.
If you are using Windows 2000, this KnowledgeBase is extremely useful.
If these suggestions do not solve your problem, please post the exact message and I will look into the issue some more. Have a great day!

  • Win7 64-bit + 8GB + PCI X-Fi Xtreme Gamer = Blue Screen

    7Win7 64-bit + 8GB + PCI X-Fi Xtreme Gamer = Blue Screen WTF? can't creative write drivers for 2st century systems?
I cannot get this config to work under any circumstance ....tried every conceivable driver (Auzen, Dan K's, CL) ... all it does is install the driver, then blue screen after the driver installs?with?a ?'the device cannot locate any free resources - Code 2" ...
This is an error from a?pre-bus mastering PCI era?e.g. 998.
I?trapped the minidump exception from the BS and looked at it in WinDbg ... faulting module was?a CL .sys file.
XP works fine, as does a CL ExtremeAudio (non X-Fi) card with Win7 64-bit and 8GB.
So apparantly the hardware is useless as creative cannot write a driver ....
    nice

I have a similar config to you, except I have the Fatalty version of the X-Fi with the front bay. I get page faults caused by the Creative driver

  • Blue screen at start up,safe mode only, resolved ,what next?

I got the old stuck on blue screen at start up ,
would only boot in safe mode , after two afternoons of RAM test , repairing disk permissions , hrdware tests , zapping PRam and the likes to no avail , I finally resolved the problem thanks to a tip from this forum:
bad video card drivers ( ATIRadeon 8500 ) , after removing them from the extension folder , it boots up! ( I tried to reset the pram , it won't work though , one chime only then nothing).
so I'm wondering what's next , can i reinstall the video card drivers only ?
is it the card itself ? (everything looks normal) or should I go for an archive and install ?
    any input would be great,
    Thanks,
    JB

    Hi-
Jean Baptiste mentioned that he removed extensions for the drivers.
Removing a conflicting driver is fine as long as the driver specific for the card installed remains.
In this case, I think it may have been a corrupt driver, rather than a conflicting driver.
Radeon drivers in OS X have a good track record of compatibility, and such driver conflict is not a historically common occurrence.
Hard drive maintenance with Disk Warrior is the best way to correct corrupt files, unless bad RAM is corrupting the files.....
In your case, it shouldn't hurt anything to remove the Radeon 8500 drivers.
Could it be the driver extensions that are preventing a proper boot. The monitor displays perfectly in safe mode so I don't understand why it would be the video card.
Booting to Safe mode unloads drivers. Only very basic core graphics rendering drivers are loaded.
No Quartz/Quartz Extreme, no Core Image, no 3D acceleration, etc.
This doesn't tax a graphics card.
Failure to boot, or failure of graphics when drivers are loaded are due to one of two things- corrupt drivers or failing components on the graphics card.
A reinstall of the OS can rule out the first.
Installing a different graphics card is the only way to rule out the second.
Before buying a new card, I would try a fresh OS.
Installing a new OS on a separate drive, and booting to that is an easy way to test.

  • Win2000 Performance using PCI-GPIB and 232CV-A

A PCI-GPIB device is being used to communicate with a GPIB232CV-A (IEEE to Serial)converter. A current test setup is operational running WinNT without experience long delays in communication to the serial device. Any ideas why Win2000 should perform differently?

I can't think of any thing that would cause this device to operate faster or slower, by just changing operating systems. It is true that Windows 2000 has a little more over head than NT, but I don't think it would be anything noticable, unless you were maxing out your processor. The GPIB232CV-A should always run the same speed.
You might want to runs some tests in MAX to verify that the PCI-GPIB device resources are setup correctly. Try to run the NI-488.2 Trouble Shooting Wizard.
    I hope this helps out.

  • My iPhone will not turn on after a yet another blue screen of death. Please help!

As mentioned above, my phone will not turn on after a yet another blue screen of death. All of a sudden it turned off, and it wouldn't turn on for quite some time, even after I plugged it in the charger. It wasn't long after the screen turned on, but it only displayed a bright black. I decided to turn it on and off a few times. Nothing worked.
I have also tried to call the phone from another one. It was as if the phone was simply off.

Blue screen. The problem was not resolved at all.
I do not know what on earth happen to my notebook, I just use the Quicktime player to see Apple laptop advertisement in apple website, when I were watching the advertisement, there was a stop, and show "window Explore has encountered a problem, and needs to close" subsequently, Blue screen. I just changed the Region and Language from English to Chinese in control panel. Sometimes, I just let the computer stand there for a long time, the blue screen appeared. I had no choice but to use the recovery system to restore the system, even when I use the ThinkVantage to recover the system, the Blue screen appeared again and again. I used the Pc-doctor to detect whether the hardwares are OK or not, but the notebook always locks up and Blue screen when I used the recovery system. It is so frequently that the whole restore can not finished. Just fortunate few times the computer can finish the detection.

  • Starting computer only. Blue screen appears, how do I resolve this?

I recently had to upgrade my hard drive on my MacBook pro 13 inch 2010. I reinstalled my back up from time machine and performed an update.  Aft that it has not worked and only displays a blue screen and nothing else.  Does anyone have any suggestions to remedy this?
    Thanks.

    chased,
I believe you should reinstall the full three step way:
Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.
