Pci resource pci-dio-96

I have inserted a PCI-DIO-96 in three different PCs riunning Windows XP. In all cases the Device Manager does not show resources allocated automatically to the card. It is recognised as being a "PCI card" but no further progress is possible - there is no data posted in the "properties" sections of the DM. Does this suggest that the card is faulty?
Do I understand the installation procedure correctly - resource address allocation should be automatic?

There should have been a disc that was shipped with the DIO card that has DAQmx. If you do not have that, the latest version can be found here: NI-DAQmx 14.5.1

Kernel doesn't boot (setting up standard PCI resources

Owkido I've got a big problem. I've upgraded my kernel to the latest with pacman (2.6.19.2-1). So everything was fine, was going for a reboot. But then.... the system just won't go any further then the following message:
"Setting up standard PCI resources"
I've tried the beyond kernel, but same story. I've searched the wiki and this forum, but I could not find any solution.
Problem is I've cleared my pacman cach, so I can't go back to my previous state (which was old anyway )

Well the laptop hasn't got any updates in a while. But my mean PC gets his updates every day. I also read the news on the frontpage, I'm aware of that problem.
So I downloaded also the 0.8 alpha release (just in case ). Both options (archlinux installation and archlinux installation ide-legacy), give me the same problem. It just hangs on boot.
I think it is a problem in de >2.6.16 kernel. But i don't know a thing about kernelconfigs and how to set it up properly

Using PCI resource via NI-VISA server

I need to use a PCI resource (NI 6221) installed on a server from a client via NI-VISA server.
I use this system with GPIB and TCP/IP resources: all resources connected on the "server" are accessible.
Is-it a NI-VISA server limitation?

You might be able to use your PCI DAQ board with NI-Visa. At least you should be able to get your VISA resource name from your DAQmx board.

Code 12 on [VIA PCI to PCI Bridge Controller]

Hi,
I am having an issue while setting up a new pc with the following setup:
MotherBoard: MSI P4M900M3
CPU: Pentium Dual Core e2180
Memory: 2 * 1Gb Kingston DDR2 667
Harddisk: Hitachi SATA 320Gb Harddisk
OS: Windows Professional (upgrade to SP3)
Using the build-in video and audio card provided in the motherboard.
After I installed the OS, i find a yellow exclamation mark in [Device Manager] -> [System Devices] -> [VIA PCI to PCI Bridge Controller] (there are 2 of these entries with the same problem) indicating the problem is :
This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use (code 12).
If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.
I have tried removing the 2 entries and let windows detect it automatically but the same problem still show up.
I have only 1 harddisk, 1 dvd drive and 1 floppy drive connected to the motherboard so i wasn't expecting such conflicts to show up.
Please help.

How to buy a PC to accomodate 5-Volt PCI card PCI-6602?

We've been having the devil of a time finding a computer with 3 or more
PCI slots at all, and then most makers & sellers have no idea about
voltage compatability! My understanding is that the NI-PCI-6602
(of which we have just bought 2) is a 5-Volt card, and therefore my PC
needs to have either a "5-Volt" slot or a "Universal" slot which would
be capable of accomodating either a 5 volt or a 3 volt (3.3 volt?)
card. To confuse the issue further, some *cards* are said to be
'Universal,' meaning that they can operate in either a 5 volt slot or a
3 volt slot. Thus, a slot capable of accomodating a 'Universal'
card is not necessarily a "Universal" slot! Oh, and did I mention
that all these cards and slots fit mechanically, it is just that some
combinations don't work electrically. Besides this, I have heard
that some motherboards, while not offering "Universal" slots are
switchable to either 5 or 3 volts. I'm not even getting in to the
different kinds of PCI slots (PCIE, PCIX, etc.) The slot I think
I need for my new pair of 6602s is a plain old PCI slot. I am
happy to buy (or even build) new computers to do this job. I just
need something with 5-volt plain PCI slots, five of them ideally but at
least three. Thank you!

Pretty much any new computer that you can get will have the appropiate
PCI type that you need to use these boards. You will be looking for a
Computer/Motherboard that is compatiable with the PCI 2.1 or 2.2
standard which supports the 5V you need to power these PCI-6602s. What
you might be seeing is a lot of computers that are coming with the
PCI-Express slots, which are very different then stardard PCI. These
computers, since they have PCI-Express, have a limited number of
standard PCI slots (usually 3). So if you go with a computer with no
PCI-Express, then most will have 5 slots. So depending on whether you
go with your favorite computer maker or decide to build a machine
yourself just make sure that the motherboard says it has 5 PCI slots
(and not PCI-Express, or PCI-X) and as long it is new you should be just fine. If
you want to read up on some on the PCI standard here is a link to a
good resource.

I believe that device is supported via the Intel AMT and Management Engine Interface packages, which can be found on your support site: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/desktops-and-all-in-ones/thinkcentre-edge-desktops/thinkcen... in the Chipset section.
The AMT / MEI feature set is generally only useful for machines in an enterprise environment facilitating out-of-band remote management.

DKA790GX PCI to PCI Bridge issue

Hello,
I get a DKA790GX Platinum with vista ultimate x64 (EN/FR) and 8GB RAM + Phenom 9950 BE.
I decided to build soft Raid 5 with sil3132 chipset via e-sata support connected to a raid box with 4 sata 2 drive
I installed this additional card on a PCI-E slot
Now I obtain an unknown device PCI to PCI Bridge that I could not update anyway. I browse some forum about related issues and many users upgrade bios to resolve conflict
So I updated my bios to version 1.3. Operation has successfully completed but my problem still remain
Th silicon device is recognized I can browse and build Raid group but, I stuck to 18MB/s that's far away from 3Gb.
I think this bottlekneck is due to bad PCI brigde

PCI-to-PCI bridge confilct under Win2000

I tried to install the PXI-1000B chassis under Win2000 through MXI-3 interface without success. From the device manager I found that there is a yellow question mark on a standard PCI-to-PCI bridge. It reports that there is a conflict in IO-port range assignment which was pre-occupied with the other device. But I can not find the device. There is not any other device which uses the same IO-port area. And from the advice of knowledge base, I have edited the registry of my video adaptor(NVidia,AGP), but failed to detect the PXI-cards. The MXI-3 optimization works well(It does not report any error and whenever I run it, the LED of the chassis blinks.). But the devices in the chassis do not show in MAX and device manager. I can find
two more PCI-to-PCI bridge from the device manager. One is occupied by the AGP video adaptor(PCI bus 1). The other is on the PCI bus 2. A new PCI-bridge was shown after I inserted MXI-3 card, which was linked to the PCI-brige on bus 2 as subsidary, which reports the conflict. How can I solve this problem? The attachment is MXI3.log after running the optimization software.

Thanks for your explanations. I also understood the purpose of the PCI-to-PCI bridge.
I have actually two PXI 1045 chassis used in two similar configurations.
I initially did not see the resource problem when using my first rack equiped with 6 PXI cards (1 MXI link and 5 DAQ cards), since everything looked fine within MAX and I had access to all I/O channels under LabView.
It is when I setup the second chassis fitted with 10 cards that I discovered that cards 7 to 10 had a resource lack. This rack is linked to an identical HP PC as the first configuration.
There was also a resource lack for the NI trigger routing module and one PCI-to-PCI bridge.
The first configuration had the first resource issue conerning trigger module and PCI-to-PCI bridge.
We tried to use the chassis with another old Dell computer running Win2K, and it worked fine. So it is probably not a rack fault.
I guess MXI-4 needs a driver, since it adds these bridges that need I/O memory resources.
We use the last Bios for the HP workstation. I really do not understand why the cards have this resource problem, and how to investigate further.

Standard PCI to PCI bridge no longer working after BIOS update

Hey everyone,
Before I get into the details of what is probably the most frustrating computer problem I have ever faced I would first like to say hello because this is my first post and I give you my system specs.
Windows 7 ultimate x64
GA-M61PME-S2P (rev 1.0) MOBO
2x 120GB Mushkin SSD @3.5gbps Raid 0
AMD Phenom II x4 @2.2 GHZ (Old processor that I replaced)
AMD Phenom II 1090T x6 @ 3.2GHZ (New processor that replaced the Phenom x4)
MSI Cyclone GTX 550 TI OC (Nvidia)
8 Gigs 800mhz DDR2 RAM (Computer Bay)
I have had a GA-M61PME-S2P (rev 1.0) board for several years now and have never had any problems. I recently bought a brand new AMD phenom II x6 1090T processor because it was listed as being supported by my board. The BIOS version that I had installed before purchasing this processor (version F5) was unable to recognize my new processor and boot so I had to update to the latest version (version F7b). After flashing my BIOS with the new version I was able to boot and my computer recognized my processor with the correct name and clock speeds. Unfortunately it now no longer recognizes one of my standard PCI to PCI bridges. Of the two standard PCI to PCI bridges listed in device manager one of them has a yellow exclamation point and reads "error code 35 firmware does not contain enough info to configure this device". I have tried everything I can think of but just cant seem to get my processor and graphics card to work under the same BIOS version. I will now list every step I have taken;
1.) I have re-flashed several times between versions F5 and F7b but always get the same results
2.) I have used Driver cleaner in safe mode to wipe all drivers and then double checked programs and features to make sure nothing was still installed.
3.) I have installed all drivers for the board from Gigabytes website, although when I try to install the VGA driver i get an error saying that no device could be found that supports the driver.
4.) I once again wiped everything in safe mode and then found the latest chipset drivers for nvidia Nforce from NVidia's site but got the same results.
5.) I tried downloading the F7b BIOS from some random website just in case the file from Gigabyte was somehow broken but this did not change anything. (I know that's generally a bad idea but I am desperate)
6.) I uninstalled the problem standard PCI to PCI bridge in device manager and restarted my computer but got the same results.
7.) I tried installing my graphics card drivers from MSI but got an error saying that no supported hardware could be found.
8.) I tried installing a number of different versions of the Nvidia graphics card drivers for my series but kept getting that same error message
9.) I downloaded the Graphics card detector program that NVidia provides on their site but it told me that it could not detect my graphics card.
10.) I tried Flashing my BIOS to the F6 version for the rev 1.3 board but this turned out to be a huge mistake because my computer would no longer post after this and I had to use a FAT32 flash drive and the q-flash utility to bring it back to life.
11.) I checked over and over and over again that my BIOS settings were right and nothing was setup to only use on-board graphics.
12.) I tried downloading a driver that was supposedly for the PCI to PCI bridge but im fairly sure this was just a trojan because the install did not complete and I found tons of fun plugins installed afterwards (I reformatted shortly after this).
13.) I made sure that my new processor was plugged in and that my BIOS was version F7b and then completely wiped my hard drive and re-installed windows 7 ultimate x64 but got the same results.
14.) I made a bootable DOS flash drive and tried updating my Graphics card BIOS but found that I already have the latest version.
What I don't understand is that my graphics card works perfectly with BIOS version F5 and my processor works perfectly with BIOS version F7b but under no circumstance do they both work at the same time. It may be worth noting that with version F7b installed I am still able to use my graphics card ( my Monitor is plugged into it via DVI) It just gives me the error under device manager and I can not install any drivers.
If anyone out there can help me I will be insanely grateful and will refer to you from then on as the master of all things MSI. I'm at my wits end, If you need any further info just ask and I will provide.

Ah ok I was afraid you were going to say that. I will take this to gigabyte then but just so I know, This PCI to PCI bridge problem couldn't have anything to do with my MSI graphics card BIOS somehow not being compatible with the Gigabyte BIOS?

Windows 7 - Pci-to-Pci Bridge (Error: Code 10) - PCI Video Card

Before I state my issues I will list what I'm running and what I'm trying to accomplish.
I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit edition, not the Beta or RC. I have 3 video cards in my possession (listed below).
- (PCIe) Evga GTX260
- (PCI) Evga 9400GT
- (PCI) Evga Fx5500
Out of those 3 cards I only use the GTX260 and the 9400GT. I had to 'retire' the Fx5500 because the latest WHQL (certified) drivers only provide support as far down as the "6 series" Nvidia cards. Unfortunately the Fx5500 is a "5 series" and falls below that line. I have already tried to use the GTX260 and Fx5500 in previous versions of Windows (XP and Vista), but there is no way to download and install two separate drivers for two of the same make of video card - you'll get nothing but errors. There is the option of going to a place like guru3d.com and downloading a custom supported driver that covers both the GTX260 and Fx5500, but the drivers are not certified and lack support. Therefore, I purchased and now use the 9400GT which is covered under the drivers for the GTX260 and eliminates the need for messing around with custom drivers. Also, the 9400GT has a better graphics processor and more memory than the Fx5500, so it was time to upgrade anyway.
Now that you have some background info here is my issue Whenever I install the 9400GT I get a second 'pci-to-pci bridge' entry (the other entry has no errors) that shows up under 'System Devices' in the Device Manager. The second pci-to-pci bridge entry has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark on it that refers to a problem. When you check the properties of this device it more or less says that Windows has detected a problem (Error Code 10). The GTX260 still works and even shows up under the 'Display Adapters' as a GTX260, but no entry for the 9400GT exists. I have tried the 9400GT in both PCI slots and each time it does the same thing. If I pull out the GTX260 and ONLY run the 9400GT, I still get the pci-to-pci bridge issue, BUT I do get a picture and can boot into Windows 7 without a hitch. When I do this there is still nothing listed under the 'Display Adapters' as a 9400GT or even a VGA compatible device.
After messing around with this for 10 hours (yes, I said 10 hours) I decided to dig out my retired PCI video card (the Fx5500). When I installed this card I had no 2nd pci-to-pci bridge entry appear under 'System Devices', and the one that was listed had no yellow triangle or error codes. I then checked under 'Display Adapters' and Windows 7 had recognized it as a VGA compatible device and was asking for drivers.
I have now concluded that there is definitely no issue with the motherboard or any of my hardware (including video cards). At first EVGA Support and I had suspected that the motherboard may be bad because of all of the pre-diagnostic steps I had taken during my 10 hour ordeal. I'm not going to list everything I did because it would literally take 3 hours to type it all in. Just believe me when I say that I have tried most things including but not limited to the latest bios updates (flashed 4 times and completely reset to ensure accuracy), custom IRQ management, entire OS re-installation X2, multiple/latest chipset drivers installed, multiple/latest video drivers installed, memtest testing, complete hardware teardown and re-build (adding one device at a time), and MUCH more. The only thing I did not try was installing a different OS other than Windows 7 64-bit to see if I could replicate the issue. This is a waste of time though because lets say that I install Windows XP Pro and the 9400GT doesn't have this issue... Well, that's great, but who gives a damn about XP Pro when I have been using it for the last 9 years and when I have a full version of Windows 7 that I want to use? I'm certainly not going to run XP Pro over Windows 7 just to use this PCI video card. Second, if I install XP Pro and it still gives me the same pci-to-pci bridge error then again, I've only wasted more time because if its not going to work in either OS then Im sure as hell not going to leave XP Pro installed when I can use Windows 7.

I have a G5 - first generation dual 2 Ghz - that I'm getting rid of because I bought a Mac Pro. But the G5 has an ATTO U320 card and a Blackmagic Decklink Extreme card that aren't PCI express, they are older PCI cards.
Will they not work in the new Mac Pro?

No, they will not work.
AGP, PCI and PCI-X cards are incompatable with PCI-e slots. PCI-e uses one or more High speed serial data paths where as the others use various slower multi-bit parallel data paths.

Best PCI-X / PCI video card for Solaris 10?

I don't mean "best" in the "latest, greatest, fastest" sense, I mean best to denote visual properties and rendering, support, basically. My current machine (Compaq SR5250NX) has a PCI bus ATI Radeon 9250 (256MB RAM) that XSun detects and uses as an ATI 9200 Pro AGP. There are all sorts of performance/visual issues...when I minimize a window, it takes a second or two (literally) to minimize and you can watch it "draw down." Or sometimes when I minimize a window, it minimizes from the top down, and the desktop is redrawn vertically, very slowly. (So you can watch the window disappear top down.) This is *extremely frustrating and makes the entire desktop experience unpleasant. This is unfortunate because I really like JDS.
So, which card has the best Solaris 10 (XSun) support? It can be either PCI or PCI-X. All I do is write text documents, program, and other general tasks. No graphics work or anything of that sort. I don't care if it's old and I have to get it used...it just has to have awesome support and enough power to handle JDS and normal apps (Sun Studio, SO 8, FF3, etc). I'm on a bit of a budget, so if it's possible to get this card for around $100..that'd be great.
*Yes, I've read the HCL, and I know which cards are on there as supported, but it doesn't say anything about which card has the best support.

Although I prefer ATI for personal use on other OSes, my last two Solaris workstations have had Nvidia Quadro video cards in them, and they've both worked very well. My previous workstation (A Sun w2100z that died a couple months ago) had a Quadro NVS 280, my new workstation has a Quadro Fx 1700, which performs extremely well even at 1920 x 1280. The Fx 1700 isn't what you would
call cheap, though.
You might want to try pick up a used Quadro NVS (at least something in the 2xx series), or one of the lower models in the Quadro Fx series.

if i enable graphics-adapter(agp - hercules 4500), no pci-devices are shown. it's a e/a conflict between the "pci to pci bridge" and the "nvidianforce2 agp host to pci bridge".
i tried to fix it by convert the acpi-pc into a standard-pc and as this doesnt work i installed win2k with the f5-key --> choosing standard-pc.
nothing work! i still can't solve the conflict.
the ressources are still not adjustable in device-manager.
when i disable the "pci to pci bridge" a window pop up and tell me that new hardware (graphics-adapter) is found.

ps: i tried moving the pci-cards and upgraded bios to 5.1

i like to thank u all, ppl. i phoned the support and they told me that they dont know anything about incompatibilities and i should check the "Compatibility Test Report" (thnx moot). did that and found no hercules-board in it! damn, what can i do.. i changed the mb against a A7N8X deluxe. guess what.. the new board doesnt even boot with the hercules-card attached. put in my old g-force2 and the mainboard works. now i put the hercules in my 2nd pc and bought a asus g-force 4 - 8x - board and all works fine. i'm pleased because i now have the mcp-T sound onboard i wanted first.
last thing to say:
the msi-telephon-support in germany sucks!

Windows 2000 upgrade from win98--will i have problems with my pci-7344, pci 6110e & ni5411?

I am running win98 with my Labview 5.1. It running fine, but I would like to upgrade the os to windows 2000.
When I was running a check of the hardware, win2k said that the following hardware may not run:
pci-7344, pci-6110 & ni-5411.
will i need new drivers?
will i run into any problems?
any suggestions?

Byron,
You should not have any problems when you upgrade your OS. Depending on what driver versions you have for that hardware, you may want to go ahead an upgrade your drivers anyway, though. The drivers for these devices are all available for free from our website at:
